UFC Featherweight Champion Conor McGregor (19-3) desperately wanted a rematch with Nate Diaz (19-10) after getting submitted at UFC 196 in March.
— TheShoeGawd (@theshoegawd) March 6, 2016
The two will meet once again in another non-title welterweight fight in the main event of UFC 202 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on August 20.
This rematch was originally was supposed to go down at UFC 200, but McGregor was training in Iceland and refused to fly to the states for his mandatory promotional duties.
UFC President Dana White responded by taking Mystic Mac off of the card, which prompted the Irish fighter to threaten retirement.
With so much money at stake cooler heads have prevailed. On August 20 fans will get to see the fight they've been waiting for.
