Rapper Fetty Wap has been released on a $500,000 secured bond following his major drug arrest. The 30-year-old, born William Junior Maxwell II, pleaded not guilty last week to participating in what authorities called a "multimillion-dollar bicoastal drug scheme."
He will be subject to GPS monitoring & random drug tests while on bond. He is also required to surrender his passport while he waits for trial.
Maxwell and five others were charged with "conspiracy to distribute & possess controlled substances, including cocaine, fentanyl & heroin," according to an indictment unsealed last week.
Authorities claim that the group used the U.S. Postal Service & cars with hidden compartments to distribute 100 kilograms of illegal substances, including cocaine, heroin, fentanyl & crack cocaine, from the West Coast to Long Island & New Jersey.
Once the drugs arrived on Long Island, they were allegedly distributed to dealers. Maxwell was accused of being a kilogram-level redistributor for the trafficking organization.
Maxwell is best known for his chart topping hit "Trap Queen," which earned him two Grammy nominations in 2015 & led to two additional hit songs: "My Way" and "679." He was scheduled to perform at Rolling Loud when he was arrested last week at Citi Field in New York City.
"The fact that we arrested a chart-topping rap artist & a corrections officer as part of the conspiracy illustrates just how vile the drug trade has become," Michael Driscoll, assistant director in charge of the FBI's New York field office, said in a statement.
If convicted, Maxwell could face a life sentence.

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Eight people died Friday night and hundreds of others were injured during the opening night of a popular weekend music festival at NRG Park.
It happened at the third-annual Astroworld Festival, a sold-out concert event featuring multiple acts.
The worst of the incident began around 9:15 p.m. when the crowd of approximately 50,000 concert-goers began to move toward the front of the stage, according to Houston Fire Chief Samuel Peña.
The organizers, rapper Travis Scott & LiveNation, stopped the show when it was apparent that multiple people were hurt.
"Once we started having the mass casualty incident, they were starting CPR on several people, and it happened all at once," HPD Executive Assistant Chief Larry Satterwhite said. "It seemed like it happened over the course of just a few minutes. Suddenly, we had several people down on the ground experiencing some type of cardiac arrest or some type of medical episode."
Medical transports were already at the park for the multi-day festival, but staff was quickly overwhelmed with injured people.
Investigators were dispatched to hospitals Saturday morning in an attempt to identify the victims. The Harris County Medical Examiner's Office will determine how the eight people died.
"There are a lot of rumors going around," Houston Police Chief Troy Finner said.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — A Kansas City woman who told police she shot and killed three people because she was “a bad person” has been convicted in their deaths.
Lynnsey D. Jones, 37, was convicted Thursday of three counts of first-degree murder and three counts of armed criminal action, the Jackson County Prosecutor’s office said in a news release.
Court documents said Jones went to a home in Kansas City to buy narcotics on Oct. 17, 2019.
Officers who were responding to reports of gunshots saw her walking near the home with a weapon in her hands. She was arrested and a man who was with her, Victor Sykes, 45, was arrested after a short foot chase.
Officers found the bodies of Larona T. Jones, Brady Jones and Larry T. Barnes Jr. inside and outside of the home.
When police asked Jones why she shot the three victims, she replied “because I’m a bad person,” according to a police affidavit.
Jones will be sentenced by a Jackson County judge in a future hearing.
Sykes is scheduled for trial on Nov. 29 on three counts of first-degree murder and three counts of armed criminal action.

Yella Beezy is in police custody in Texas, where he's been arrested on weapon and sexual assault charges ... TMZ has learned.
The rapper was busted Friday in Collin County, where he's currently in jail.
A law enforcement source tells TMZ … Beezy is behind bars after being booked on 3 different charges -- felony sexual assault, felony abandoned endangered child and misdemeanor unlawful carrying a weapon.
Yella Beezy is no stranger to getting in trouble in Texas ... this marks his third arrest in the Lone Star State this year alone.
TMZ broke the story ... YB was arrested back in August on weapons and drug charges, and the police say he was in possession of over 40 grams of a controlled substance plus a rifle and 4 handguns.

The Georgia judge in the trial of three men charged with murdering Ahmaud Arbery, who was Black, said 'there appears to be intentional discrimination,' after 11 whites and one Black man were seated for the jury, but said Georgia law limited his authority to intervene because defense attorneys stated non-racial reasons for excluding Black panelists from the jury.
One juror, a white woman, was dismissed Thursday for medical reasons. Fifteen total panelists will hear the trial — 12 jurors plus three alternates. The judge has not given the races of the alternate jurors, and they were not asked to state their race in open court.
Court officials have said the trial could last two weeks or more.
If the defendants are acquitted, their legal troubles won’t be over. They have also been indicted on federal hate crime charges. A U.S. District Court judge has scheduled that trial to begin Feb. 7.

BRUNSWICK, Ga. (AP) — Opening statements began Friday in the murder trial of three white men charged in the shooting death of Ahmaud Arbery, with a prosecutor telling jurors that faulty assumptions led them to chase down the 25-year-old Black man.
Greg McMichael & his adult son, Travis McMichael, armed themselves & pursued Arbery in a pickup truck as he ran through their neighborhood just outside the Georgia city of Brunswick on Feb. 23, 2020. A neighbor, William “Roddie” Bryan, joined the chase & recorded graphic video of Travis McMichael shooting Arbery 3 times with a shotgun.
“All three of these defendants did everything they did based on assumptions — not on facts, not on evidence,” prosecutor Linda Dunikoski told the jury. “And they made decisions in their driveways based on those assumptions that took a young man’s life.”
Greg McMichael said his son killed Arbery in self-defense after Arbery attacked with his fists & tried to take Travis McMichael’s gun.
Prosecutors say Arbery was merely out jogging, was unarmed & had committed no crimes in the neighborhood. When Bryan’s video of the killing leaked online in May 2020.
Controversy erupted on Wednesday, the final day of jury selection, when prosecutors objected to a final jury consisting of 11 whites & 1 Black juror. They argued that defense attorneys had cut 8 potential jurors from the final panel because they are Black, which the U.S. Supreme Court has declared unconstitutional.
The judge agreed there appeared to be “intentional discrimination,” but said Georgia law limited his authority to intervene because defense attorneys stated non-racial reasons for excluding Black panelists from the jury.

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. (ClickOrlando) – Orange County deputies believe they have solved a 25-year-old using DNA evidence taken from a discarded beer can.
Kenneth Stough Jr., 54, was arrested Tuesday, accused in the stabbing of a convenience store clerk in February of 1996.
Deputies were called to a Lil’ Champ mini-mart before 7 a.m. on Feb. 3, 1996. A man was driving by the store & saw that the lights were out, which was unusual as the store was typically open at that time. He then called the sheriff’s office.
When deputies made their way inside, they found Terrence Paquette in the bathroom, dead with 73 stab wounds.
Deputies said there was a large amount of blood in the bathroom & around the store. Samples were collected & investigators determined not all of the blood was Paquette’s.
Detectives could not identify who the second blood samples had come from & the case went cold before being reopened in 2003.
In March 2021, detectives submitted the unknown blood sample to a genealogy database & found that the blood belonged to someone who was related to Kenneth Stough Sr. & Carol Ann Crawford.
Deputies said they discovered that they had 3 sons. They found that Stough Jr. had lived across the street from the victim around the time of the murder.
Detectives said they found Stough Jr. & began surveillance. Investigators saw him throw out a bag of empty beer cans in a public dumpster. The cans were retrieved & Stough Jr.’s DNA was retrieved from the discarded cans & came back as a match for the unknown blood sample.
Stough Jr. faces charges of first-degree murder with a weapon & robbery with a deadly weapon.

Phoenix Suns co-owner Robert Sarver is being accused of using the N-word on multiple occasions over the course of his 17 years with the team ... but he's denying all but 1 claim made against him.
ESPN just released a lengthy report on Sarver's tenure with the Suns organization ... with several sources accusing the 60-year-old of racism, sexism & misogyny.
Earl Watson -- who was head coach of the Suns from 2016-17 -- claims Sarver hurled the slur multiple times after a game against the Golden State Warriors ... saying, "You know, why does Draymond Green get to run up the court and say [N-word]?"
Sarver -- who also co-owns the Phoenix Mercury -- does admit using the word "many years ago" ... claiming he was responding to a player while discussing team chemistry.
6 other staffers claim Sarver also used the N-word when sharing stories relayed by a black player.
There's more -- an executive claims Sarver explained his decision to hire Lindsey Hunter as head coach over Dan Majerle back in 2013 by saying, "The N-words need an N-word."
The report claims Sarver told a pregnant employee in 2008 she would not be able to do her job because she would be at home breastfeeding all day ... but Suns management rebuked Sarver's wishes & did not fire the woman due to fear of discrimination.
Sarver is also accused of showing employees pictures of his wife in a bikini.
Sarver also allegedly made comments to staffers about shaving their private parts, NBA players getting strippers pregnant & female employees crying too much.
Others claim Sarver discussed receiving oral sex from his wife, needing to wear extra-sized condoms & asking players about their sex lives ... which he's denied.
