NBA player Iman Shumpert was arrested for having a "sizeable" amount of marijuana in his backpack at the Dallas/Fort Worth Airport on Saturday.
Officers responded to a potential drug violation call around 2:40 PM ... after TSA screeners found a plastic bag filled with a "green leafy substance" in Shumpert's bag, which he admitted was weed.
Cops say the substance weighed 6.12 ounces & tested positive for marijuana using a mobile test.
The report adds 32-year-old Shumpert -- who was set to board a Delta plane to Los Angeles at 3 PM -- expressed concern about missing his trip to visit his daughter ... but the responding officer informed him he would not be making that flight, as he was being placed under arrest for marijuana possession.
The report says the 2016 NBA champ was then placed in handcuffs & transported to the airport jail without incident.
The charge is classified as a "State Jail Felony" ... meaning Shumpert could face up to two years behind bars & a $10K fine, if convicted.
Cops also claim Shumpert -- who also won Season 30 of "Dancing With The Stars" -- had a Glock magazine and 14 9mm rounds in his bag ... although he didn't have a gun.
Shumpert last played for the Brooklyn Nets in 2020-21 ... and has also suited up for the Knicks, Cavaliers, Kings & Rockets over his decade-long career. He's averaging 7.2 points a game in his career.

NEW YORK (CBS New York) -- A 23-year-old man is in critical condition after police say he was shot on the job at a McDonald's in Brooklyn.
The shooting happened at around 7 p.m. Monday outside the restaurant on Fulton Street in Bedford-Stuyvesant.
"That something could happen like that over something so simple as food, like that's crazy," one person in the neighborhood said.
"He was working, at work, this happened at work? It's kind of sad, because he's trying to make a living," another person added.
It started when a customer, who was angry her fries were cold, approached the worker & started arguing with him.
The argument moved outside & that's when, sources said, the woman called over her 20-year-old son to "take care of the problem." He then pulled out a gun & shot the employee in the neck.
The worker was rushed to Brookdale Hospital & the son was taken into custody.
"I'm deeply concerned. My children have come to this McDonald's over the years & from time to time I have meetings in this McDonald's," said Rev. Conrad Tillar. "It's sad. It shows that we're in a level of crisis in this city."
Duddridge spoke with a man who works at another fast food spot. He said he's thankful his boss recently installed a glass barrier, but staff are still scared.
"One of our workers, he called me today, he don't want to work no more... because of this. They said they're scared," Habib Sayed said. "That's why I don't want to work at night. I told my boss, if you want to pay me like $100 an hour, I'm not going to work, because it's crazy."
Police said there did not appear to be any previous connection between the employee & the suspect.

TAIPEI, Taiwan (AP) — U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi arrived in Taiwan late Tuesday, becoming the highest-ranking American official in 25 years to visit the self-ruled island claimed by China.
Her visit ratcheted up tension between China & the U.S. because China claims Taiwan as part of its territory & it views visits by foreign government officials as recognition of the island’s sovereignty.
“We must stand by Taiwan,” she said. “It is essential that America & our allies make clear that we never give in to autocrats."
Taiwan & China split during a civil war in 1949, but China claims the island as its own territory & has not ruled out using military force to take it.
Soon after Pelosi’s arrival, China announced a series of military operations & drills, which followed promises of “resolute & strong measures” if Pelosi went through with her visit.
The People’s Liberation Army said the maneuvers would take place in the waters and skies near Taiwan & include the firing of long-range ammunition in the Taiwan Strait.
The army planned to conduct live-fire drills from Aug. 4 to Aug. 7 across 6 different areas in the waters surrounding Taiwan.
“Some American politicians are playing with fire on the issue of Taiwan,” Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi. Referring to the U.S. as “the world’s biggest saboteur of peace.”
Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell backed Pelosi’s visit as a display of support for Taiwan’s democracy.
China’s military threats have driven concerns about a new crisis in the 100-mile-wide Taiwan Strait that could roil global markets & supply chains.
U.S. officials have said the American military will increase its movements in the Indo-Pacific region during Pelosi’s visit.
China sent 21 planes, 18 of them fighter jets toward Taiwan.

HUEHUETENANGO, Guatemala (AP) — At dawn, police and federal agents with cover from helicopters flying overhead raided a large ranch nestled among the mountains of northern Guatemala, not far from the border with Mexico.
Inside authorities found horse stables, a swimming pool, late model vehicles, guns & a still drunk Felipe Diego Alonso, the alleged leader of a smuggling ring that moved migrants from Guatemala north to the U.S.
The raid was part of several carried out Tuesday in 4 Guatemalan provinces against a migrant smuggling ring, for which authorities say they’ve documented $2 million in revenue since 2019.
Alonzo & 3 others arrested Tuesday were targets of U.S. prosecutors, wanted in connection with the death of a Guatemalan migrant in Texas last year. In total, authorities nabbed 19 alleged members of the smuggling ring.
The extradition of alleged migrant smugglers known as “coyotes” has been rare & these would be the first known cases in Guatemala.
Prosecutions of migrant smugglers in Guatemala have proven exceedingly difficult because migrants are almost never willing to identify or testify against their smugglers. In some cases they hope for another chance to migrate to the U.S. with the smuggler’s help & in others they are afraid of the smugglers or their organized crime connections.

An airline passenger has been fined nearly $2,000 after two undeclared egg & beef sausage McMuffins & a ham croissant were found in their luggage upon arriving in Australia.
The unnamed person traveling from Indonesia to Australia was fined $2,664 Australian dollars ($1,874 in American dollars) after the trio of McDonald's breakfast sandwiches were found in their luggage on arriving at Darwin Airport, Australia's Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry reported.
The incident took place on the heels of Australian authorities implementing new biosecurity rules after a Foot and Mouth disease (FMD) outbreak in Indonesia spread to Bali.
“This will be the most expensive Maccas meal this passenger ever has, this fine is twice the cost of an airfare to Bali, but I have no sympathy for people who choose to disobey Australia’s strict biosecurity measures & recent detections show you will be caught,” Minister Murray Watt said.
The airport's new biosecurity detector dog, Zinta, uncovered the meat last week in a backpack of a passenger arriving from Indonesia.
The seized meat products will be tested for FMD before they are destroyed, Watt said.
“Australia is FMD-free, and we want it to stay that way," he said.
“Biosecurity is no joke – it helps protect jobs, our farms, food and supports the economy. Passengers who choose to travel need to make sure they are fulfilling the conditions to enter Australia, by following all biosecurity measures.”
The passenger, officials said, was issued a 12-unit infringement notice for "failing to declare potential high biosecurity risk items & providing a false & misleading document.

The parents of a 7-year-old boy found dead inside of a washing machine at a Spring home were released late Thursday & have currently not been charged.
Troy Khoeler was reported missing around around 5:20 a.m. on Thursday morning. Deputies initially searched outside the home & canvassed the neighborhood for almost 2 hours before going back into the residence to search again.
The boy was found full clothed inside a top-load washing machine inside of the garage.
Jermaine Thomas, the boy's father, detailed the moments he came back home Wednesday night & found the front door of the home unlocked.
"It's just that I came home, I was fixin’ to walk in the door like right now, I don't have my keys but I put my keys to the door handle and then it just opened,” he said. “Anything else after that, I don't know."
The family has a prior history with the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services. The details of that history are confidential.
The parents, who adopted the boy, were released after spending the majority of Thursday being separately questioned by investigators. Neither of them is currently being charged with a crime pending the autopsy results from the Harris County medical examiner.
