GALENA PARK, Texas (KHOU) — 4 people are dead after an apparent murder-suicide in Galena Park.

It happened around 10:30 p.m. Saturday at a home on 2nd Street near N. Main St. and Clinton Dr.

The Galena Park Police Department responded to a call by a 12-year-old who said she was sexually assaulted by her mother's boyfriend & that he had shot other people inside the home. She also picked up her 1-year-old niece & ran to a neighbor's house for help.

When officers arrived at the home, they found 3 teen girls, ages 19, 14, and 13, shot to death. The mother's boyfriend, a 38-year-old man, was found dead in the master bedroom with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Gonzalez said the man started shooting at the girls following a disturbance. The man shot the 19-year-old, who Gonzalez said was believed to be pregnant, before shooting the other 2 girls & then assaulting the 12-year-old.

"He then proceeded to sexually assault a 12-year-old that was inside the residence," Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said. "After that, he told her to go ahead & run from the house...she did so & ran out of the residence without any clothing."

According to Gonzalez, the man had a relationship with the homeowner, who is the mother of the 3 girls & that he wasn't the father of any of the teens he killed. Meanwhile, the 12-year-old that was assaulted was transported to the hospital & is being treated for her injuries.

Gervonta Davis & Ryan Garcia have both signed contracts for an April 15 super fight in Las Vegas at a 136-pound catchweight, sources told ESPN on Saturday.

The deal, which has been in the works since November, will be finalized once broadcasters Showtime and DAZN sign contracts. Showtime, Davis' & promoter PBC's longtime network, sent the contract to DAZN on Saturday, per source. The streaming service is the home of Garcia, who competes for Oscar De La Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions.

The fight between the star boxers is perhaps the biggest commercial event boxing can deliver. A dispute over the rematch clause threatened to derail the fight, but that issue was resolved last week after PBC agreed that Golden Boy Promotions would serve as the lead promoter for the rematch if Garcia wins.

Only Davis can exercise the rematch clause in the event he loses, per sources. Typically, boxers have 30 days to activate their right to an immediate return bout.

Davis (28-0, 26 KOs) will earn the lion's share of revenue for the first fight & is the betting favorite to win the bout. The Baltimore native defeated Hector Luis Garcia (no relation) last month via ninth-round TKO to keep the Ryan Garcia matchup intact.

Law enforcement agencies announced charges against dozens of North Texans as part of a month-long investigation designed to rescue children who are the victims of online sexual exploitation.

The investigation, called Operation Janus, sought out people who were trafficking illegal images & videos of children who were forced to perform sexual acts.

The victims in the operation are as young as infants, according to investigators.

A detective says this started after companies like Google & Facebook flagged the inappropriate material.

It resulted in more than 80 criminal charges filed against 59 offenders from Jan. 16 to Feb. 10.

Law enforcement groups say over the course of the operation, 28 children were rescued from online sexual abuse & investigators seized terabytes of data & electronic devices used in the crimes.

Among those charged are Jesse McFall, who worked for Dallas Fire-Rescue, Brandon Froning, who taught at Parish Episcopal & Michael A. Newhouse, Jr., who worked as a substitute teacher for McKinney ISD.

"The people charged as a result of this operation preyed upon some of our most vulnerable, our children," said Dallas Police Chief Eddie Garcia in a statement. "We will never stop working to identify, locate & apprehend these predators to make our community safer for our children."

ATLANTA (TND) — A Democratic state senator in Georgia called Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas an "Uncle Tom" this week while arguing the longtime justice doesn't deserve a monument at the state capitol.

"I know it's very, very sensitive to talk about race in this body," Democratic Sen. Emanuel Jones said on the floor of the General Assembly Tuesday. "But anytime that we have a resolution -- legislation -- proposing to place a statue of Clarence Thomas on this grounds, we cannot avoid that conversation, so I'm not going to avoid it either."

In the Black community, we have an expression," Jones continued. "And I don't want to use this label too deeply here because I'm just trying to tell you what we have in African American communities when we talk about a person of color that goes back historically to days of slavery & that person betraying his own community. We have a term in the black community. That term that we use is called 'Uncle Tom.'"

Jones noted that he "couldn't help but to think about that term" during the consideration of S.B. 69, a bill seeking to add a statue of Thomas to the state capitol, arguing Thomas's policies, practices, decisions & votes "seek to subvert, some may even say suppress the achievements & accomplishments of people of color."

Jones went on to admit that he doesn't "really know the origin of Uncle Tom," but said it tells a story of a person, "who back during the days of slavery sold his soul to the slave masters."
