While marijuana use has been legalized in many states, it remains a banned substance in professional sports.
Former NBA star Stephen Jackson believes that needs to change.
"They won't let it be legal until they [can] control it. I smoked my whole career. I had a hell of a career. Didn't miss no games" Jackson told TMZ Sports. "I ain't gon' say it helped [during games]. But as far as coming down after the games relaxing ... yeah it helped. Nobody can play high. Especially in the NBA. It's a high level of competition and guys are great.
"But after the games guys need to come down and relax because it's a physical sport," he continued. "If anybody says they need to be high during a game they don't know what the fuck they talking about. The games I smoked was the games I knew I wasn't gonna play."
Jackson enjoyed a 14-year NBA career. The Houston native played for the San Antonio Spurs, Atlanta Hawks, Golden State Warriors, Indiana Pacers, Charlotte Hornets, Milwaukee Bucks and L.A. Clippers.

G Herbo’s path to greatness wasn’t paved with yellow brick. The neighborhood he grew up in on Chicago's East Side is known—fondly, to some—as “Terror Town.” Passage through a metal detector is required for entrance into his old middle school.
In the latest MASS APPEAL documentary, 'City of Sorrow,' G Herbo makes his triumphant return to Hyde Park Academy, where he attended middle school.
“Before I get out of here, I just wanted to tell y’all that no matter what you do in life, the main three things to remember is to keep faith in yourself, stay focused and keep working hard,” the Humble Beast rapper tells an excited crowd inside Hyde Park Academy auditorium—the same place he used to show up to school smelling of weed. “Ain’t nothing easy. Everything in life is hard, there will be ups and downs, you’re gonna lose, you’re gonna fail. But you only fail if you give up.”
“You cannot just… ‘Oh, get out of the streets.' You’ll either die or go to jail.' Everybody knows that,” says Mikkey Halsted—the former rapper, current president of A&R Machine Ent. Group, and mentor figure to Herbo—as he waits to make a turn at a streetlight. Halsted deconstructs many of the stigmas and myths surrounding life in Chicago as he takes our cameras through Herbo’s former stomping grounds.
“Leave the streets to do what? Go work in McDonalds? ‘So the people that was trying to kill me last week, can see me in McDonalds?’”
Herbo did find a way to leave the streets and went to work at places like Hot 97’s Summer Jam. His story is one that Halsted, and the city of Chicago wants to push out to a wider audience. “I damn near saw, like, Nas and Tupac,” Mikkey says about encountering Herbo’s talent for the first time. That’s what I felt. So, I came to get him. I came home.”

In April 2017 Chief Keef was arrested in Miami when cops claim they witnessed a weed deal between a passenger in Keef's vehicle and another car.
The 22-year old Chicago rapper, born Keith Cozart, was also given a field sobriety test at the time, which he failed.
He was charged with felony DUI, and we now know the laundry list of narcotics that were in his system, thanks to TMZ.
The website reports that Keef's urine tested positive for Morphine, Codeine, Promethazine, THC, Hydrocodone, Norcodeine, Dihydrocodeine and Hydromorphone.
That's a whopping total of eight drugs.
The State's attorney refiled the DUI charge on Wednesday after dropping it Tuesday due to a scheduling conflict.

Fabolous and Jadakiss ended 2017 with 'Friday On Elm Street,' a collaborative album that features Future, French Montana, Yo Gotti, Jeezy, and more. The title is a reference to the classic 'Friday the 13th' and 'Nightmare On Elm Street' horror movies, and the project kicks off with the aptly titled “F vs. J Intro,” an abbreviated version of the film series' respective villains Jason Voorhees and Freddy Kreuger. The horror movie mythology is woven throughout the track, as both Fab and Jada explain to Genius.

Hollywood lined up plenty of successful horror projects in 2017, from Jordan Peele's breakthrough hit Get Out to the revival of Stephen King's IT to the Groundhog's Day redux Happy Death Day. Looking ahead to 2018, there are already quite a few flicks poised to satisfy fright fans -- from fact-based stories to supernatural scares and the reemergence of at least one classic character, the future looks very dark indeed, in the best possible way.

Underground artist King Purdie just dropped his EP project "The Awakening." A dope a** catalog of new age sound. The cover art caught me at first glance. hard to tell if it meant destruction or growth but I was intrigued. Upon pressing play...the intro started. An accapella delivery and perfect introduction. Meeting King Purdie natrually, with out being covered up by multiple effects. And the hunger is clear. The confidence is clear. And the skill is there. KP then ripped through the next 5 instrumentals showing why he is next to be heard. Check it out today!

JMoneyToofficial is an MC from Ohio who has been making a name for himself. After a long wait, he’s releasing his 2018 debut. The tape starts off with the title track "Testimony", where he’s displaying his rapping prowess over a killer beat. The next song “Different” gets trippy & the production fits the vibe perfectly. Personally, this is JMoneyToofficial's magnum opus. His lyricism is grittier than ever as is the production while he only showcases 2 features on the tape. Ohio is one of states on the rise right now & this is yet another example of why that is!
