Sound Frontier is a power trio conceived and created by Ali Bishop in the heart of Harlem, New York City. With musical influences that range from: Charlie Patton, to John Coletrane, to James Brown, to Jimi Hendrix. Ali Bishop, with the help of his musician friends, have created a striped down fusion band that uses “imagination and sound” to create their own musical ideas. Ali Bishop is the innovative wildcard of the band. The Boston born New York City raised Bishop is fast becoming a guitar god who enthralls people with his style that reminds many of Jimi Hendrix and Ernie Isley.
Bringing a myriad of music genres to the table, Bishop is contemporary only in appearance, as he brings an old school style to his performances, including many of the vintage guitar tricks that make people take notice. With his mixture of blues, rock and soul, Bishop gives Sound Frontier the edge it needs, as bassist Charles Butterfield and drummer CJ Wright all add flavor to the band. Sound Frontier has performed at the CMJ Music Marathon, and Make Music New York Festivals.
They have also performed at SOB’s, The Bitter End, Sullivan Hall, Public Assembly, St. Nick’s Pub, The Bowery Poetry Club, and The Shrine World Music Venue. The single they created for “Pebblez Da Model” entitled “That’s Me!” accrued over 140,000 views on World Star Hip Hop. Sound Frontier’s latest projection is an adaptation of the classic “Hey Joe”. With band members Charles Butterfield, and CJ Wright, Bishop has re-envisioned the song to create a modern interpretation of “Hey Joe” seen through a contemporary urban lens, by creating a brand new perspective on this timeless folk/rock classic.
New single. With a very well put together lyrical scheme, Jody Lo slaughters this instrumental speaking only about how he's been effected by Marijuana. For the love of Mary Jane.
Report via Local 10 News - SUNNY ISLES BEACH, Fla. - A man was killed and a woman was wounded during a shootout Sunday outside the Trump International Beach Resort in Sunny Isles Beach, authorities said.
Witnesses said the shooting started around 1:30 p.m. when two groups of rappers got into an argument outside the resort and exchanged gunfire.
A friend of the man who was killed told Local 10's Sanela Sabovic that the man -- an employee of Hertz Rental Car -- was caught in the crossfire when the two entourages began firing.
Paramedics transported the 19-year-old woman to Aventura Hospital and Medical Center. Her condition was not disclosed. Witnesses said the woman was the girlfriend of rapper NBA YoungBoy, who was scheduled to perform Sunday at the Rolling Loud music festival in Miami Gardens.
Police are searching for a silver GMC Yukon with Florida tag BNE 3360. Police are looking for three suspects. Police said the suspects were armed with an AK-47 and several handguns.
Aventura police said in a statement that they were investigating a second shooting that may be related to the incident at Trump International Beach Resort.
Aventura police said a driver was shot and described his injuries as not life-threatening.
"An incident happened in Sunny Isles. We are working with investigators to see if they are related. Neither indicates a hate crime or terrorist event," Aventura police said.
DOWNEY, Calif. (AP) — A man suspected of gunning down a liquor store owner near Los Angeles leaned out a car window during a chase and blasted away with a handgun before being dragged wounded from the car Friday.
There was no word on his condition as he was taken away in an ambulance.
He is believed to be the gunman who walked into a Downey liquor store on Tuesday night and shot down Gurpreet Singh, 44, of Cerritos, Sgt. Mark Haxton said.
Police have said nothing was taken from the store and there was no immediate word on a motive for the attack.
On Friday afternoon, police and Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies began chasing a black Toyota Prius in Downey, southeast of Los Angeles.
The high-speed chase stretched along a freeway and surface streets, during which video showed a passenger in a black T-shirt lean halfway out of the front passenger's window and fire two-handed at pursuing patrol cars.
Video showed the man using a distinctive long-barreled revolver strikingly similar to one that was used in the store killing.
The chase ended at about 3 p.m. in neighboring Vernon when traffic trapped the car and the passenger again fired. A car behind the Prius managed to back away, and police who pulled up in the next lane riddled the Prius with gunfire, shattering windows.
A short time later, a bloodied woman driver got out and surrendered. There was no immediate word on her condition.
The street near a railroad track was emptied, and sheriff's SWAT teams were called in. Two armored vehicles blocked in the Prius.
During a standoff that lasted more than an hour, authorities rolled a robot up to the open driver's door to peer inside the car and later fired two flash-bang grenades into the vehicle.
When the man inside didn't get out, a police dog was sent in to pull at him. Only then did SWAT members drag the motionless man from the car.
He was strapped to a gurney and taken away by ambulance. There was no word on his condition.
Report via KHOU -- Blood evidence obtained from the apartment of missing 4-year-old Maleah Davis' estranged stepfather has been linked to the girl, according to Houston police detectives.
Derion Vence, 26, is in custody for evidence tampering. The Gulf Coast Violent Offenders and Fugitives Task Force arrested Vence around 2:40 p.m. in Sugar Land.
HPD detectives say in addition to blood evidence linked to Maleah being found at the apartment, Vence was also seen carrying a laundry basket from the apartment.
Vence's silver Nissan Altima was recovered in Missouri City on Thursday.
The laundry basket was found in the trunk of the Nissan along with a gas can, according to HPD.
Although Vence reported his Altima was taken in an abduction, surveillance video showed someone in that Nissan Altima dropped Vence off at the Methodist Sugar Land Hospital on May 5, according to police.
Vence, who had been engaged to Maleah's mother, is the last known person to see Maleah and recent video shared by a neighbor with police shows him with bottles of Clorox and a garbage bag before Maleah was reported missing.
Maleah's mother previously threatened to break up with Vence because of infidelity allegations, according to local activist Quanell X, who appeared with the mother in front of reporters Friday.

Report via TMZ -- Nipsey Hussle's brother wants to take control over the late rapper's estate ... and he's asking the court to be put in charge of about $2 million worth of assets.
According to new legal docs obtained by TMZ ... Nipsey's brother, Blacc Sam, says he needs to take over Nip's affairs so he can make good on tons of business opportunities that keep flowing in.
In the docs, Blacc Sam says Nipsey died without a will ... and the docs list property worth $2,035,000. It's possible that's not all the money Nipsey saved away. As we first told you, Nipsey set up multiple trust funds for his kids and family.
Blacc Sam claims his brother's sudden death whipped up a media frenzy, and it's bringing loads of time-sensitive business opportunities because of Nipsey's life story and rap career ... so he wants to be the estate's administrator STAT.
TMZ broke the story ... Nipsey was gunned down March 31 outside his Marathon Clothing store in Los Angeles.
While Nipsey's brother is looking to take control of the estate, his sister, Samantha Smith, is also asking the court for guardianship of Nip's 10-year-old daughter, Emani Asghedom.
Report via TMZ -- Young Thug's car and 2 party buses filled with his team were targeted in a hail of bullets early Friday morning in Miami, according to multiple witnesses ... and 3 people were injured.
Witnesses tell TMZ ... Thug was riding in a Ferrari alongside the 2 buses on I-95 around 6 AM when someone pulled up next to them and opened fire. Law enforcement sources say 2 men and a woman who were on the buses were taken to hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.
Young Thug was not hit. While the witnesses say the rapper was on the scene when the bullets flew ... sources close to him say he had left the party an hour earlier.
It appears the whole group was on the way to the Miami Beach Hotel before the shooting went down. Young Thug had performed at LIV Nightclub Thursday night. He's scheduled to perform again Saturday at the Rolling Loud Festival in Miami.
Cops are investigating the shooting.
This is the second time this week a famous rapper's been targeted. As we first reported ... Offset escaped a shooting Wednesday night in Atlanta.
Report via TMZ -- Nipsey Hussle's alleged murderer is going to need a new lawyer -- Christopher Darden is quitting the case ... and it sounds like a wave of death threats to him and his family were just too much.
Darden says he's filed a motion to withdraw as Eric Holder's defense attorney. Holder happens to have a hearing scheduled for Friday in L.A. Superior Court, and Darden says it's the last time he will appear in court on the case.
Darden, who famously prosecuted O.J. Simpson in his double murder trial, says he's received death threats since taking Holder's case -- and the flood of hatred reminded him of the O.J. case. As he put it, "Just as they were in 1995-Cowards never change. These days these cowards don’t send letters instead they sit anonymously behind keyboards threatening a man’s mother and children."
Darden hinted he might reveal more in the future about exactly why he's bailing on Holder -- aka "Shitty Cuz" -- but made it clear to his haters that he won't forget ... "To those who issued those threats to my children please pay close attention so there is no misunderstanding. Later. FucK YOU!"
Truth is, Darden's been mercilessly berated ever since agreeing to defend the man accused of killing someone as beloved as Nipsey. One threatening tweet said, "Remember it was written in the book of life that the children shalt suffer from what the parents do."
But, Darden wants to make the point that under the Constitution, EVERYONE deserves a defense in court. He says, "After centuries of a history of black men hung from trees without trial, or after the thousands of cases of black men tried, convicted and executed without counsel ... I cannot understand why in 2019 some people would deny a black man his 6th Amendment right to counsel of his choice."
