12348835664?profile=originalEminem lost a best friend and rap lost a great entertainer on this day in 2006 when rapper Proof of D12 was shot and killed at a Detroit club at the age of 32.

Proof, real name DeShaun Dupree Holton will always be remembered as being instrumental in forming D12 as well as a great freestyle battle rapper, having particpated in numerous competitions in Detroit and the Blaze battle.

Eminem says his friend was the best freestyle rapper he's ever seen.

"Everything back then was all about battling if you wanted to make a name for yourself," Eminem told Red Bull a few months ago talking about the Detroit battle scene he and Proof came up in. "There were battles every couple of months where anybody trying to make a name for themselves would come out.

I don't know who the greatest freestyler in the world is today, but I know that the greatest freestyler I've ever seen in my life is Proof," Eminem continued. "He might use one line in a sixty second battle that was something that he had that was premeditated, but everything else would be spontaneous. I've never seen anybody be able to have that kind of gift and ability to do that."

Proof's mom Pepper Holton, formed The Proof Foundation to keep his name and memory alive. Tonight they will hold a candlelight vigil and tribute at the Shelter in Detroit.

R.I.P. Big Proof

Video After The Jump....

Waka Flocka Flame will be the special guest on this Wednesday's edition of MTV "RapFix Live," and the Atlanta-by-way-of-Queens rapper will have plenty to talk about with host Sway, but he'll also be taking your questions!

Waka has been gearing up for some joint projects with his Brick Squad ally Gucci Mane. The two rappers are at work on a reality show and a collaborative album titled The Ferrari Boys. Flocka also recently started his own label, Brick Squad Monopoly, and is prepping his new album, Triple F Life, for a late-2011 release with at least a couple of official mixtapes sure to hit the streets in the interim.

Our 2010 #8 Hottest MC in the Game hasn't slowed down this year. His debut album, Flockaveli, has spawned hits like "Hard In Da Paint" and the Drumma Boy-produced "No Hands," and the video for his latest single, "Grove St. Party" (featuring Kebo Gotty), was named MTV Jams' "Jam of the Week." But Waka's also had his share of legal woes, including an arrest on weapons and drug charges in January. He'll address that and much more on "RapFix Live."

Do you want to ask Waka about posing nude for PETA's "Ink, Not Mink" campaign? Wondering how he reacted when shots were fired at his tour bus in February? Flocka will be taking questions from the audience via Twitter, @MTVRapFix with the hashtag #rapfixlive. Fans can also upload video questions for the "O Let's Do It" star via Your.MTV.com. Tune in on Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET on MTV.com.

"RapFix Live" will also premiere a new video from Houston rapper Kirko Bangz. The former Prairie View University student and current Asylum/ Warner Bros. Records artist just dropped a new DJ Drama-hosted Gangsta Grillz mixtape titled Procrastination Kills 3.

Video After The Jump...

After a poorly-received Friday night show in New York got him Bronx cheers, Charlie Sheen rebounded in his second performance at Radio City Music Hall on his My Violent Torpedo of Truth/Defeat Is Not an Option tour Sunday night, getting two separate standing ovations during the show, and RadarOnline.com has video and photos from his stop in The Big Apple.

PHOTOS: Charlie Sheen In New York

Instead of wearing his usual baseball jersey, the former Two and a Half Men star, 45, donned an FDNY shirt in tribute of the authorities who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.

Sheen said, “What about those f***king heroes!” in reference to his shirt.

Of his earlier debacle in the famed building, Sheen said, "Friday night got a little f**king hijacked because I let people get into my magic f**king brain."

Sheen also talked a bit about his Two and a Half Men co-workers, co-star Jon Cryer and the show's executive producer and creator, Chuck Lorre.

Sheen called Cryer an "absolute rock star," and apologized for earlier comments he'd made calling the Pretty in Pink star a "troll."

Of the sitcom, he said, "I'll go back when they re-hire me... they fired me for having too much fun."

When an audience member chanted, "Chuck Lorre sucks," Sheen responded, "Well he doesn't completely suck -- he's a really good f**king writer!"

And in what is quickly becoming his go-to trick to get cheers, Sheen once again took off his shirt during the performance to show off his ripped body.

Sunday's was the seventh show in Sheen's 20-city tour. The actor has played to mixed results, getting booed in Detroit, while receiving cheers in Chicago, Cleveland and Columbus.

12348834068?profile=originalThe real "Freeway" Rick Ross is taking Officer Ross aka William Roberts II to court for a second time.

While Ross was incarcerated, Roberts used his name and fake cocaine tales to gain fame. Basically Roberts is rapping about the life that Ross actually lived and served time for.

Ross sued Roberts, Jay-Z, Def Jam Records and Universal Music Group in federal court for trademark violations, unfair competition and misappropriation of his publicity rights.

Ross lost that case, but now has new legal representation in law firm Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP. This time Ross' team will sue on a state level.

We always knew our case was stronger in the state than it was in the feds,” Ross told BET. “California state law really protects people with their names and their likenesses. So we knew that was stronger inside California than it was in the feds, but we wanted to go the big route first then work our way down.”

Ross regrets his previous life as a drug dealer. He feels like Roberts message is wrong for kids.

We’re both teaching two different messages," Ross said "He’s teaching my old life: sell drugs, disrespect women, all the things that really have our country in shambles. I’m teaching uplifting values, education, literacy. He’s teaching illiteracy,"

Ross presents his case in court on May 2.

12348831897?profile=originalGold's Gym conducted a nationwide poll and Kanye West's "Stronger" came away the winner as the greatest workout song ever.

The song was nominated by former NFL All Pro Michael Strahan. His New York Giants won Super Bowl XLII after taking the field to the song “I was thrilled to hear that ‘Stronger’ won the March Music Madness Bracket Challenge. The song brings back great memories of Super Bowl XLII and is still on my iPod everyday in the gym," Strahan said.

"Stronger" beat out four other songs for the crown. Guns N Roses' "Welcome To The Jungle", Eminem's "Lose Yourself", Black Eyed Peas "Boom Boom Boom" and The theme from the movie 'Rocky' were the other finalists.

The song appears on Kanye West's 2007 album 'Graduation.'

12348833075?profile=originalDrummer ?uestlove of the Philadelphia rap band The Roots took to his twitter page to talk about actress Ashley Judd's negative comments regarding rap music.

Judd wrote in her new memoir 'All That Is Bitter and Sweet' that rap is "rape culture."

Here is a portion of Judd's thoughts about rap as written in her book

"Along with other performers, YouthAIDS was supported by rap and hip-hop artists like Snoop Dogg and P. Diddy to spread the message...um, who? Those names were a red flag. As far as I'm concerned, most rap and hip-hop music -- with it's rape culture and insanely abusive lyrics and depictions of girls and women as 'ho's' -- is the contemporary soundtrack of misogyny. I believe that the social construction of gender -- the cultural beliefs and practices that divide the sexes and institutionalize and normalize the unequal treatment of girls and women, privilege the interests of boys and men, and, most nefariously, incessantly sexualize girls and women -- is the root cause of poverty and suffering around the world."

Apparently Judd practices what she preaches. ?uest describes her attitude during her appearance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, where The Roots are the house band as being cold.

"hmmm. at least i got my answer as to why ash judd didn't give us so much as a nod on her last visit. im a criminal," ?uest wrote.

?uest compares Judd's disdain for rap to Oprah Winfrey's.

12348833677?profile=originalJudd herself is now backtracking from the statements. According to Eonline the actress regrets making the remarks. saying

"What I'm being accused of is condemning rap and hip-hop as a whole, and the whole community and when they say community, they mean the fans, and African-Americans, it's become so generalized. My intention was to take a stand to say the elements that are misogynistic and treat girls and women in a hyper-sexualized way are inappropriate."

Ashley spoke on a subject she has very little knowledge about and got shut down. You don't have to like rap music, but at least if you're going to criticize it know what you're talking about.

12348830670?profile=originalFresh off of a three year bid, Prodigy of Mobb Deep is putting in lots of studio time. Thus far we've seen a P solo collaboration with Jim Jones and Lloyd Banks, as well as a Mobb Deep joint with Nas.

The most surprising and out of left field collaboration may be yet to come.

Prodigy reached out to Officer Rick Ross on Twitter and seemed to close a deal for the Queens rapper to join forces with Ross on a track.

Check out the exchange between Ross and P below

Prodigy: @rickyrozay...wuts good g'z? We fuck wit u ...we gotta serve em sum BLACKCOCAINE !!!

Ross: @PRODIGYMOBBDEEP done deal..

Prodigy: @PRODIGYMOBBDEEP <<<<<< cant wait to hear that Colabo >>>>>>>>.@rickyrozay Mr. Miami.

Obviously It's a known fact that 50 Cent and Ross engaged in a well known beef recently. With Mobb Deep's close association with G-Unit, one would wonder why P would reach out to the former correctional officer.

The Unit has squashed previous beefs with The Lox and Cam'Ron, but there has been no sign at all that their beef with Ross' camp is over.

What do you think of Prodigy reaching out to Officer Ross?

Ice Cube Directing Bow Wow In New TV Series

12348829498?profile=original

(AllHipHop News) Rapper Bow Wow is bringing his acting talents to the small screen, via a new partnership with TV/movie director, Ice Cube.

Bow Wow, who stars in Tyler Perry's latest movie "Madea's Big Happy Family," has also had major roles in box office hits such as "Like Mike," "Roll Bounce," and "Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift."

The rapper, who also starred in two Ice Cube produced flicks ("All About the Benjamins" and "Lottery Ticket") is re-teaming with the hit director on an upcoming, untitled sitcom.

Bow Wow told AllHipHop.com that longtime mentor/Atlanta mogul Jermaine Dupri will create the score for the series.

"I just spoke with JD yesterday and I got him doing the score and he is actually about to do the music for the TV show sitcom that I am doing with Ice Cube," Bow Wow told AllHipHop.com.

"I partnered with Ice Cube and he is producing my sitcom," the rapper continued. "I told JD when Will [Smith] had his own show ["The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air"], Quincy Jones did all the music so it’s only right that he does mine. So I got him doing all the scores to the TV show. I speak to JD daily.

The untitled sitcom is still in the early stages, so while details were scant, Bow Wow said the deal had just been signed and writers were currently being sought for the television show.

"Once we get that we will have a name and we will definitely be filming this year, you’ll be hearing a lot about that," Bow Wow told AllHipHop.com.

Check out Bow Wow in Madea's Big Happy Family, which hits movie theaters on April 22nd.
