Delaware indie artist,  Jay LaVita is heating up the worldwide web with his debut single “Put You On” featuring NYC rapper Fred The Godson. The catchy, melodic track will have you singing along with LaVita as he sings out to a pretty young thing, wooing her to be his main chick.

“Baby Girl that body’s too legit / She brought it to me like a stewardess / I’m gonna give her what she came here for / She said the feelings so right, well I know it ain’t wrong / So go ahead and lay your head down, and let me put you on,” he sings.

Born Jeffrey Lynn Tabron, the emerging singer-songwriter grew up in a musical home that emphasized hard work. According to Jay, every Christmas morning his parents insisted that he and his siblings perform before they were allowed to open their presents. This early love of performing helped mold him into the vibrant performer he is today. Honing his talents independently since adolescence, Jay has already shared stages with legends like Earth, Wind & Fire, and hitmakers like Flo Rida and Colonel Loud. Now signed with Starr Media Group, Jay Lavita has found a home where he can solely concentrate on what he fell in love with as a child…. the music.

Video After The Jump

The internet had a field day on Sunday, January 10, when they thought Leonardo DiCaprio snubbed Lady Gaga at the 73rd Golden Globe Awards.

Gaga was on her way to the podium to accept the award for Best performance by an actress in a leading role in a series, limited series or motion picture made for television, when she brushed up against DiCaprio.

460x.jpg

He laughed and gave her a sideways glance. The moment started trending on Twitter.

DiCaprio later gave an explanation to Entertainment Tonight of what actually happened.

12351919299?profile=original

"Oh Lord - that's trending huh?" he said. "I just didn't know what was passing me, that's all."

Twitter still showed no chill and had some fun at Gaga's expense.

What's your take on DiCaprio's reaction?

Video After The Jump

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (AP) — The 73rd annual Golden Globes had a few curveballs up its sleeves, and the biggest ones weren't even from acerbic host Ricky Gervais, who kept the show alive with his biting quips and takedowns of the business that the awards were celebrating.

But, instead of just being another booze-soaked, starry year at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, Sunday's bleep-filled ceremony also gave a boost to two films that have been lingering on the edges of an undefined award season — the crowd-pleasing space romp "The Martian" and the brutal frontier epic "The Revenant," mere days before the Academy Award nominees are revealed.

460x.jpg

Alejandro Inarritu's "The Revenant" won awards in the drama category for best picture and best actor for star Leonardo DiCaprio, who seems to be on a path to an Oscar for his portrayal of the 1820s fur trapper Hugh Glass.

Inarritu, whose "Birdman" swept the Oscars last year, also beat out "The Martian's" Ridley Scott for the best director award. "The Martian" did win best comedy film and best actor in a comedy for star Matt Damon. The dubious placement of "The Martian" in the comedy category was a running joke throughout the evening — even Scott questioned it as he walked on stage to accept the best picture award.

460x.jpg

But a win is a win, and although this awards season is far from predetermined, neither "The Martian" nor "The Revenant" were considered real frontrunners, especially against nominees like "Spotlight," ''Carol," ''Mad Max: Fury Road," and "The Big Short."

"Spotlight," the fact-based drama about The Boston Globe's investigation into sex abuses in the Catholic Church has been the one favorite throughout the season in both critics and guild awards. While it is considered a lock for a Best Picture nomination on Thursday, the film apparently did not win the favor of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association and received no awards on Sunday.

Adam McKay's star-studded financial collapse comedy "The Big Short" also walked away empty handed, despite some rising awards momentum lately with recent Producers Guild and Writers Guild nominations. Critics darlings "Carol" and "Mad Max: Fury Road" were surprisingly shut out as well.

But all will come into focus on Thursday when Oscar nominees are announced. Voting for Oscar nominations closed on Friday, but the campaigning won't end until the actual ceremony on Feb. 28. Any added momentum helps, even if Gervais joked at the start of the show that the award is "a bit of metal that some confused old journalist wanted to give you to meet you in person and take a selfie."

Gervais' snark aside, the Golden Globes have worked for years to shed an image of eccentric selections made by a group of little-known international journalists. The Globes have instead grown into one of the most popular award show broadcasts of the year, thanks to increasingly credible nominees, its trademark relaxed atmosphere and its unique position as a major awards show that honors both film and television.

Despite some outliers in the nominee ranks, the film acting awards went to a more expected lot. Jennifer Lawrence won best actress in a comedy for "Joy," her third Golden Globe win for a David O. Russell film, who she thanked effusively in her speech. She also beat out her friend Amy Schumer in the category.

"She's gonna be fine," Lawrence said backstage. "She's funny and hilarious and will win many things."

In what is probably the year's most competitive category, best actress in a drama, Brie Larson won out over Cate Blanchett ("Carol") and Saoirse Ronan ("Brooklyn) for her affecting performance as a woman in captivity in "Room." Last year's winner Julianne Moore ("Still Alice") went on to win the Oscar as well.

Awards race dark horse "Steve Jobs" also got some love on Sunday with wins for Kate Winslet, for best supporting actress, and Aaron Sorkin, for the screenplay.

Sylvester Stallone knocked out some heavyweight competition, too, in the supporting actor category with a win for "Creed," beating out Idris Elba ("Beasts of No Nation"), Michael Shannon ("99 Homes"), Mark Rylance ("Bridge of Spies"), and Paul Dano ("Love & Mercy"). The crowd greeted his win with a standing ovation.

"I want to thank my imaginary friend Rocky Balboa for being the best friend I ever had," said Stallone, whose only other Golden Globes nod was also for portraying the Italian Stallion in "Rocky."

460x.jpg

Despite some diversity in the nominee ranks, the film acting awards were still won exclusively by Caucasians, rousing some worry that the Oscars may follow suit despite increased scrutiny after last year's #OscarsSoWhite criticisms.

Best foreign language film went to Hungary's Laszlo Nemes' "Son of Saul," a harrowing view of life inside Auschwitz, and best animated film went to Pixar's acclaimed "Inside Out."

The big television winners included USA's "Mr. Robot," Taraji P. Henson for "Empire" and Jon Hamm for "Mad Men."

460x.jpg

The Gervais-led Globes evidenced little of the seriousness that marks most award shows, or the teary-eyed acceptance speeches. Instead, the Globes had a particularly unraveled atmosphere that included Jonah Hill dressed as the bear from "The Revenant," copious discussion of "Transparent" star Jeffrey Tambor's male anatomy by Gervais, and much buzzing about Sean Penn's escapade with Mexican drug kingpin Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman.

Cecil B. DeMille lifetime achievement honoree Denzel Washington also fumbled his way through his speech, which generally serves as a poignant respite in an otherwise irreverent evening.

And yet, buoyed by more respectable picks in recent years and a three-year hosting stint by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, the boozy Globes have been on the rise, even if their choices won't directly affect who will get that coveted Oscar nomination. In Hollywood, though, it's all about the buzz, and "The Martian" and "The Revenant" just leapt back into the spotlight.

Video After The Jump

“Save My Soul” is about addiction. Of all kinds. I wanted to convey the feeling of powerlessness I've felt in my life in an uncomplicated way and show a range of what it might look like for others who've been there. Working with one of my best friends, Zelda Williams (director of SMS), was a highlight of my 2015. We'd been talking about working together for like 10 years! Because of the content of the song and the way it touched us both, “Save My Soul” felt like the natural place for us to finally collaborate.

A group of us young, crazy, creatives drove out to the magical desert of Joshua Tree and got naked - most of us emotionally, and a few literally. It was a safe space to be vulnerable and free from judgment and the need to be/ look/ act "perfect". Everyone who participated connected to the song and brought their truth to the table.

We filmed this video about a month before my father lost his decades long battle with addiction. His death honestly felt like it came out of nowhere…and yet I had been mourning him for years…if that makes any sense. I know all too well from seeing it around me that the fight is not easy. It's every day. All consuming. I'm not mad at my dad. I love him and I'm sad. He is my greatest heartbreak. This song, which had always been personal to me, takes on even deeper meaning now. "I try to run but it hurts every time I try... Lord I try and I can't say no." Makes me think of the universal struggle of seeking victory over the feeling of powerlessness to a situation, a lover, a drug.

Losing my father at the end of last year and knowing the propensity for addiction of all kinds that runs deep in my blood from both sides makes it next-level important for me to LIVE - not just be alive, but THRIVE in his honor. I can do this. And so can you. If you're struggling, believe the only way OUT is THROUGH. Keep going.

Video After The Jump

Mexican government sources are now investigating Sean Penn and actress Kate del Castillo, the woman who helped to set up the meeting between the actor and Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman, according to ABC News

A source told Reuters that authorities want to speak with the two about possible money laundering, although the source didn't explain further.

12351909888?profile=original

Guzman, who has now been captured in large part because of his contact with Penn, was on the run after escaping from Altiplano prison, 50 miles outside of Mexico City, on July 11, 2015.

12351910278?profile=original

The drug kingpin avoided detection as he slipped into a tunnel that led up to the shower in his prison cell.

Guzman and Penn met at an undisclosed location in October, because of the Sinaloa Cartel leader's desire to have "the story of his life told on film." Follow-up interviews took place over the phone and in video.

12351910663?profile=original

Screen shot from El Chapo's interview with Sean Penn via Rolling Stone.

The interview has now been published in an article by Rolling Stone.

"I take no pride in keeping secrets that may be perceived as protecting criminals, nor do I have any gloating arrogance at posing for selfies with unknowing security men. But I'm in my rhythm. Everything I say to everyone must be true. As true as it is compartmentalized. The trust that El Chapo had extended to us was not to be fucked with.," Penn wrote. "This will be the first interview El Chapo had ever granted outside an interrogation room, leaving me no precedent by which to measure the hazards. I'd seen plenty of video and graphic photography of those beheaded, exploded, dismembered or bullet-riddled innocents, activists, courageous journalists and cartel enemies alike. I was highly aware of committed DEA and other law-enforcement officers and soldiers, both Mexican and American, who had lost their lives executing the policies of the War on Drugs. The families decimated, and institutions corrupted."

"I took some comfort in a unique aspect of El Chapo's reputation among the heads of drug cartels in Mexico: that, unlike many of his counterparts who engage in gratuitous kidnapping and murder, El Chapo is a businessman first, and only resorts to violence when he deems it advantageous to himself or his business interests," Penn continued. "It was on the strength of the Sinaloa cartel's seemingly more calculated strategies (a cartel whose famous face is El Chapo, but also includes the co-leadership of Ismael "El Mayo" Zambada) that Sinaloa had become dominant among Mexico's criminal syndicates, extending far beyond the rural northwestern state, with significant inroads to all principal border areas between the United States and Mexico – Juarez, Mexicali, Tijuana, and reaching as far as Los Cabos."

Despite the precautions Penn says he took to make sure the meetings were kept secret, Mexican authorities were aware of communications between the two and used them to track Guzman down.

"Another important aspect that helped locate him was discovering Guzman's intention to have a biographical film made. He contacted actresses and producers, which was part of one line of investigation," Mexican Attorney General Arely Gomez said on Friday.

Republican presidential candidate Senator Marco Rubio expressed his disgust Sunday on ABC’s “This Week” upon learning of Penn's contact with Guzman.

“If one of these American actors who have benefited from the greatness of this country, who have made money from our free enterprise system, want to go fawn all over a criminal and a drug trafficker in their interviews, they have a Constitutional right to do it,” Rubio said. “I find it grotesque.”

12351910101?profile=original

This was the second time Guzman had escaped prison. He was first caught in Guatemala in 1993 and extradited to Mexico. He escaped from a high-security prison in Jalisco state in 2001.

12351911283?profile=original

Guzman has been taken back to Altiplano prison after being re-arrested following a gunfight with Mexican marines in the Sinaloa city of Los Mochis on Friday, January 8. Five of his associates were killed, six injured and several captured.

Talks of him being extradited to the United States are underway.

Video After The Jump

MEXICO CITY (AP) — The recapture of drug lord Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman took a surprise, Hollywood twist when a Mexican official said security forces located the whereabouts of the world's most-wanted trafficker thanks to a secret interview with U.S. actor Sean Penn.

Excerpt from El Chapo's interview with Sean Penn

Penn's interview with Guzman, who has twice escaped from Mexican maximum security prisons, appeared late Saturday on the website of Rolling Stone magazine. It was purportedly held at an undisclosed hideout in Mexico in late 2015, several months before Guzman's recapture Friday in Los Mochis, Sinaloa, after six months on the run.

In the interview, Guzman defends his work at the head of the world's biggest drug trafficking organization. When asked if he is to blame for high addiction rates, he responds: "No, that is false, because the day I don't exist, it's not going to decrease in any way at all. Drug trafficking? That's false."

In the article, Penn describes the elaborate security measures he took ahead of the clandestine meeting. But apparently they were not enough.

A Mexican federal law enforcement official, speaking on condition of anonymity because he was not permitted to comment on the issue, told the Associated Press it was the Penn interview that led authorities to Guzman in a rural part of Durango state in October.

Authorities decided not to open fire on Guzman at the time because he was with two women and child. He was able to escape, but they were able to later track him to a house in Los Mochis where Mexican marines nabbed him after a shootout that left five people dead.

The official said the meeting between Penn and Guzman was held in Tamazula, a community in Durango state that neighbors Sinaloa, home of Guzman's drug cartel.

On Friday, Mexican Attorney General Arely Gomez said that Guzman's contact with actors and producers for a possible biopic helped give law enforcement a new lead on tracking and capturing the world's most notorious drug kingpin.

In the Rolling Stone article, Penn wrote that Guzman was interested in having a movie filmed on his life. He said Guzman wanted Mexican actress Kate del Castillo, who facilitated the meeting between the men, involved in the project.

12351917660?profile=original

Kate Del Castillo

"He was interested in seeing the story of his life told on film, but would entrust its telling only to Kate," wrote Penn, who appears in a photo posted with the interview shaking hands with Guzman whose face is uncovered.

There was no immediate response from Penn's representatives to the Mexican official's comments.

Earlier Saturday, a federal law enforcement official said that Mexico is willing to extradite Guzman to the United States, a sharp reversal from the official position after his last capture in 2014.

"Mexico is ready. There are plans to cooperate with the U.S.," said the Mexican official, who spoke on condition anonymity because he wasn't authorized to comment.

But he cautioned that there could be a lengthy wait before U.S. prosecutors can get their hands on Guzman, the most-wanted trafficker who was recaptured Friday after six months on the run: "You have to go through the judicial process, and the defense has its elements too."

Top officials in the party of President Enrique Pena Nieto also floated the idea of extradition, which they had flatly ruled out before Guzman's embarrassing escape from Mexico's top maximum security prison on July 11 — his second from a Mexican prison.

But even if Mexican officials agree, Guzman's attorney Juan Pablo Badillo told the Milenio newspaper that the defense already has filed six motions to challenge extradition requests.

"They can challenge the judge, challenge the probable cause, challenge the procedure," said Juan Masini, former U.S. Department of Justice attache at the U.S. Embassy in Mexico. "That's why it can take a long time. They won't challenge everything at once ... they can drip, drip, milk it that way."

Following his capture, the head of the powerful Sinaloa Cartel was brought to Mexico City's airport, frog-marched to a helicopter before news media, and flown back to the same prison he'd fled.

There were immediately calls for his quick extradition, just as there were after the February 2014 capture of Guzman, who faces drug-trafficking charges in several U.S. states. At the time, Mexico's government insisted it could handle the man who had already broken out of one maximum-security prison, saying he must pay his debt to Mexican society first.

Then-Attorney General Jesus Murillo Karam said the extradition would happen only after he finished his sentence in Mexico in "300 or 400 years."

Then Guzman escaped on July 11 under the noses of guards and prison officials at Mexico's most secure lock-up, slipping out an elaborate tunnel that showed the depth of the country's corruption while thoroughly embarrassing Pena Nieto's administration.

He also escaped a different maximum-security facility in 2001 while serving a 20-year sentence. Lore says he hid in a laundry cart, though many dispute that version. He spent 13 years on the lam.

Gomez said that one of Guzman's key tunnel builders led officials to the neighborhood in Los Mochis, where authorities had been watching for a month. The team noticed a lot of activity at the house Wednesday and the arrival of a car early Thursday morning. Authorities were able to determine that Guzman was inside the house, she said.

The marines were met with gunfire as they closed in.

Gomez said Guzman and his security chief, Ivan Gastelum, a.k.a "El Cholo Ivan," were able to flee via storm drains and escape through a manhole cover to the street, where they commandeered getaway cars. Marines climbed into the drains in pursuit. They closed in on the two men based on reports of stolen vehicles and they were arrested on the highway.

What happens now is crucial for Guzman, whose cartel smuggles multi-ton shipments of cocaine and marijuana as well as manufacturing and transporting methamphetamines and heroin, mostly to the U.S.

According to a statement from the Mexican Attorney General's office, the U.S. filed extradition requests June 25, while Guzman was in custody, and another Sep. 3, after he escaped. The Mexican government determined they were valid within the extradition treaty and sent them to a panel of federal judges, who gave orders for detention on July 29 and Sept. 8, after Guzman had escaped.

Those orders were not for extradition but just for Guzman to begin the extradition hearing process. Now that he is recaptured, Mexico has to start processing the extradition requests anew, according to the law.

The quickest he could be extradited would be six months, said a federal official who spoke on condition of anonymity, but it's not likely because lawyers file appeals. He said that they are usually turned down, but each one means a judge has to schedule a hearing.

"That can take weeks or months, and that delays the extradition," he said. "We've had cases that take six years."

Collective Music Group artist, Blac Youngsta, ran into problems with police on Friday, January 8, when he left a Wells Fargo bank in Atlanta after withdrawing $200,000 cash.

Someone inside the bank called the police because they though it was suspicious. When the rapper exited he was put in handcuffs and cops confiscated $100,000 of his money to check out it's legitimacy before letting him go.

12351913263?profile=original

"I went in there and got $200,000 out of my account. I come out the bank... I see the police. I'm walking to my car [and] I see one of the pointing to my bag like, 'him'" Youngsta told 11 Alive. “They come bum rushing me at the car, put me on the ground, putting guns to my head, so I’m like ‘What I’d do?' A lady was like I’m not supposed to have…$200,000 on me. I’m like, ‘I’m a millionaire. How can I not have $200,000 on me?’"

12351913865?profile=original

Blac, real name Sam Benson, said he was told someone had written a bogus check and an employee at the bank thought it was him, but all of the $1.3 million he has in the institution is legitimate.

"They apologized and let me go, but they just took $100,000 of my money. I'm finna go to the police precinct right now and get my other $100,000," he said.

A reporter then asked him why he needed $200,000 in cash.

"I was finna go buy me a vehicle," he explained. "They got the new Mercedes Benz out, you know like the Maybach. I was finna go get one. I was about to go buy one, cash. Buy they just made me so mad I might go buy me a Ferrari right now. I feel aggressive. I feel fast.. [Bank employees] couldn't believe that I was young, black, handsome and I was getting $200,000 out. I had my Rolex on with all the diamonds in it. On my rich folks stuff. The thing is, I'm a rapper. How I live my life I don't believe in checks. I don't want to go to the car lot with no check. My dream I always dreamed about was going in the bank getting a half a million out and taking the car lot a half a million and putting it on the desk like, 'give me that Ghost right there.' Where I come from we don't believe in taking checks to the car lot. It's still legit. This the check right here."

The war on drugs has been one with numerous battles over the last several decades, and as the years pass new ones are produced but crack cocaine continues to affect the Black community. During DJ Vlad's talk with Freeway Ricky he was shown a clip from Montana of 300's VladTV interview where he spoke about his mother's ongoing battle with crack. At one point Montana says he used to want to wipe out all of the drug dealers because of it, to which Freeway Ricky states it's "kinda like [how] the United States government feels - that they can just lock up all the drug dealers and the problem will go away. It won't happen." Interestingly enough it was Ricky's own family who made him give up the drug game for good. His advice to Montana of 300? "What you have to do is help your people. He has to find a way to get through to his mom."

Watch and listen as Freeway Ricky talks about the government's role in the drug epidemic, why he feels "they gave crack a stigma so that they could punish young, Black men" more so than others, and why crack babies don't exist.

MEXICO CITY (AP) — Mexican marines had barely faced down .50-caliber sniper guns and a loaded grenade launcher to recapture the world's most notorious drug lord when the calls started coming: Extradite Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman to the United States. And soon.

Mexico's leaders avoided talk about extradition following Guzman's capture early Friday, but even if they decided to send him to the U.S., the process likely would not be fast. For now, they have sent him back to the Altiplano maximum-security prison from which he escaped in July.

Guzman, head of the powerful, international Sinaloa Cartel, was presented late Friday in dark blue athletic clothing. He was frog-marched to a helicopter by marines, who stopped mid-transit and turned his expressionless face toward the media for a clear view.

The calls for his quick extradition were the same as those after the February 2014 capture of Guzman, who faces drug-trafficking charges in several U.S. states. At the time, Mexico's government insisted it could handle the man who had already broken out of one maximum-security prison, saying he must pay his debt to Mexican society first.

Then Guzman escaped a second time on July 11 under the noses of guards and prison officials at Mexico's most secure lock-up, slipping out an elaborate tunnel that showed the country's depth of corruption while thoroughly embarrassing the administration of President Enrique Pena Nieto.

In celebrating Guzman's latest capture, Mexican officials showed none of their bravado of two years ago, though they made clear that the intelligence building and investigation were carried out entirely by Mexican forces. They did not mention extradition.

Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto, flanked by Interior Minister Miguel Angel Osorio Chong, left, and National Defense Secretary Slavador Cienfuegos Zepeda, applauds during a press conference following the capture of fugitive drug lord Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman, in Mexico City, Friday, Jan. 8, 2016.

"They have to extradite him," said Alejandro Hope, a security analyst in Mexico. "It's almost a forced move."

U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, a Republican presidential candidate, echoed that sentiment, demanding that Guzman be immediately turned over to U.S. authorities. "Given that 'El Chapo' has already escaped from Mexican prison twice, this third opportunity to bring him to justice cannot be squandered," Rubio said.

Pena Nieto went on Twitter to announce the capture: "Mission accomplished: we have him."

Guzman, a legendary figure in Mexico who went from a farmer's son to the world's top drug lord, was apprehended after a shootout between gunmen and Mexican marines at the home in Los Mochis, a seaside city in Guzman's home state of Sinaloa.

Apparently Guzman thought his story was worthy of Hollywood. Part of the reason authorities tracked him down to a house in an upscale neighborhood in a coastal city was because he wanted to film a biopic, Attorney General Arely Gomez said late Friday at the airport ceremony where the prisoner was shown off to the press.

"For that he established communication with actresses and producers, which became a new line of investigation," she said.

Friday's operation resulted from six months of investigation and intelligence-gathering by Mexican forces, who located Guzman in Durango state in October but decided not to shoot because he was with two women and a child, she said. After that he took a lower profile and limited his communication until he decided to move to Los Mochis in December.

Gomez said that one of Guzman's key tunnel builders led them to the neighborhood in Los Mochis, where authorities did surveillance for a month. The team noticed a lot of activity at the house Wednesday and the arrival of a car early Thursday morning. Authorities were able to determine that Guzman was inside the house, she said.

The marines decided to close in early Friday and were met with gunfire. Five suspects were killed and six others arrested. One marine was injured.

"You could hear intense gunfire and a helicopter; it was fierce," said a neighbor, adding that the battle raged for three hours, starting at 4 a.m. She refused to be quoted by name in fear for her own safety.

12351911881?profile=original

Gomez said Guzman and his security chief, "El Cholo" Ivan Gastelum, were able to flee via storm drains and escape through a manhole cover to the street, where they commandeered getaway cars. Marines climbed into the drains in pursuit. They closed in on the two men based on reports of stolen vehicles and they were arrested on the highway.

The troops took them to the roadside hotel Doux, where they awaited reinforcements, Gomez said.

In 2014, Guzman evaded capture by fleeing through a network of interconnected tunnels in the drainage system under Culiacan, the Sinaloa state capital.

"The arrest of today is very important for the government of Mexico. It shows that the public can have confidence in its institutions," Pena Nieto said later in a public address. "Mexicans can count on a government decided and determined to build a better country."

What happens now is more crucial for Guzman, whose cartel smuggles multi-ton shipments of cocaine and marijuana as well as manufacturing and transporting methamphetamines and heroin, mostly to the U.S.

The United States filed requests for Guzman's extradition last June 25, just days before he escaped from prison. In September, a judge issued a second provisional arrest warrant on U.S. charges of organized crime, money laundering, drug trafficking and homicide, among others. But Guzman's lawyers already had filed appeals and received injunctions that could delay the extradition process for months or even years.

Marines seized two armored vehicles, eight rifles, one handgun and a rocket-propelled grenade launcher at the home in Los Mochis, the navy's statement said.

Photos showed that two of the seized rifles were .50-caliber sniper guns, capable of penetrating most bullet-proof vests and cars. The grenade launcher was found loaded, with an extra round nearby. An assault rifle had a 40-mm grenade launcher and at least one grenade.

12351912287?profile=original

"The arrest is a significant achievement in our shared fight against transnational organized crime, violence, and drug trafficking," the Drug Enforcement Administration said in a statement.

After his first capture in Guatemala in June 1993, Guzman was sentenced to 20 years in prison. He reportedly made his 2001 escape from the maximum security prison in a laundry cart, though some have discounted that version.

His second escape last year was even more audacious. He fled down a hole in his shower stall in plain view of guards into a mile-long tunnel dug from a property outside the prison. The tunnel had ventilation, lights and a motorbike on rails. Construction noise as a digger broke through from the tunnel to his cell was obvious inside the prison, according a video of Guzman in his cell just before he escaped.

Audio After The Jump

During an interview with Fighthype, Floyd Mayweather Jr., talked about the double standard he believes that exists in combat sports when it comes to race.

He cited the example of the media calling out Bernard Hopkins when he fought as a 160 pound middleweight and challenged smaller boxers like Oscar De La Hoya, Shane Mosley and Felix Trinidad to fight him.

12351583286?profile=original

Mayweather feels like Gennady "GGG" Golovkin, who is the IBF and WBA middleweight champion, is currently doing the same thing, but not receiving the same criticism because of the racism that still exists in boxing.

He also brought up the fact that Andre Ward is ranked No. 4 by Ring Magazine even though he's undefeated.

12351910272?profile=original

The retired champion later brought up the rapid ascension of UFC fighters Ronda Rousey and Conor McGregor.

12351910492?profile=original

"Ronda Rousey, you know, I think she fought somewhere like 11 or 12 fights, which is not a bad thing. Laila Ali went undefeated and was dominating too. After Ronda Rousey fought I think 9, 10, 11 fights, it didn't even take that long, she got all types of endorsements, movies and everything," Mayweather said. "Laila Ali did the same thing in better fashion. Ronda Rousey, she's a good looking woman when she put it on. Laila Ali is a drop-dead gorgeous woman; I mean a naturally beautiful woman and can kick ass, but you never heard them [the media] saying when she had I think somewhere around 10, 11, 12 fights that she was the baddest woman to ever fight on the planet. And what's so crazy, I don't really know the McGregor guy; never seen him fight. I heard his name actually from one of the runners that works for our company; a little kid named Ken Hopkins, he's a runner and takes care of a lot of the daily business. Whatever we need, he takes care of. He's a cool little kid, I like him, and he does MMA. He told me about the guy McGregor. They say he talk a lot of trash and people praise him for it, but when I did it, they say I'm cocky and arrogant. So biased! Like I said before, all I'm saying is this, I ain't racist at all, but I'm telling you racism still exists."

McGregor responded with a lengthy post on his Facebook page.

"Floyd Mayweather, don't ever bring race into my success again. I am an Irishman. My people have been oppressed our entire existence. And still very much are. I understand the feeling of prejudice. It is a feeling that is deep in my blood," McGregor wrote. "In my family's long history of warfare there was a time where just having the name 'McGregor' was punishable by death. Do not ever put me in a bracket like this again. If you want we can organize a fight no problem. I will give you a fair 80/20 split purse in my favor seen as your last fight bombed at every area of revenue. At 27 years of age I now hold the key to this game. The game answers to me now."

What do you think about Mayweather's comments on racism in combat sports and McGregor's angry reply?
