(Local 10) FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - South Florida rap star Kodak Black is a lot closer to being released from jail than he was yesterday.
Black, whose real name is Dieuson Octave, had charges of gun and marijuana possession, as well as neglecting a child, dropped Tuesday.
Those charges stemmed from a January raid on his home following a live social media video that appeared to show people using marijuana and holding a handgun near an infant.
Octave, who has been in jail since Jan. 18, entered an open plea in court today to previous charges of violating probation while driving with a suspended license and associating with people engaged in criminal activity. He was sentenced to 364 days in jail, with credit for time-served.
Octave will now be released from jail in six months.
In addition, when Octave is released as early as October, he will be off probation and free to resume his career without any court supervision.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office has rejected a rape case against Too $hort, according to TMZ.
Teana Louis sued the 51-year old rapper, born Todd Shaw, in January, claiming he sexually assaulted her on multiple occasions ... between June and October of 2016.
The D.A.'s office reviewed the case and decided not to pursue it, saying it couldn't be proven that the sex wasn't consensual. $hort insisted all along that Louis was just looking for a payday.

R. Kelly is facing more accusations of sexual impropriety.
Billboard reports that the 51-year old singer is being investigated by authorities in Dallas following a woman's claim that he gave her an STD and groomed her to join a sex cult.
The alleged victim was 19-years old at the time of the incidents. Her current age, the sexually transmitted disease contracted and her identity are not known. The woman says she had an eight month relationship with the Chicago crooner. She plans to file a federal civil complaint.
In addition to contracting an STD, the woman alleges in the complaint that during the relationship she “was the victim of several forms of criminal misconduct by Kelly, including, but not limited to, unlawful restraint, furnishing alcohol and illegal drugs to a minor, and aggravated assault (via the referenced intentional STD infection),” according to her attorney’s statement.
A representative for the Dallas Police Department tells Spin, “I can just confirm that we are looking into a reported incident.”
It is illegal to knowingly give someone an STD in Texas. HIV/AIDS transmission can result in an assault with a deadly weapon charge. Intentionally infecting someone with another STD such as syphilis or gonorrhea could be considered assault under Texas law.
Punishment can range from probation to jail time.
The attorney for the accuser is expected to hold a news conference in Dallas on Wednesday, April 18.

Philadelphia rapper and Dreamchasers boss, Meek Mill, could be a free man very soon.
The Philadelphia Enquirer reports that the District Attorney’s Office said in court Monday, April 16, that due to allegations of misconduct by Reginald Graham, the arresting officer in Meek's 2008 drug and gun case, the conviction should immediately be vacated and he should be granted a new trial.
That would allow the "Dreams and Nightmares" hit maker, born Robert Williams, to be freed from prison in the meantime.
Despite that recommendation, Common Pleas Judge Genece Brinkley, who sentenced the 30-year old in November to 2-4 years in prison for a probation violation, did not agree. Instead, she scheduled another hearing for June, and she refused to hear arguments from Mill’s attorneys that he should be let out on bail.
One of Meek's attorneys, Brian McMonagle, said his client was "elated" by the DA's decision.
McMonagle added that his team would be filing motions with higher courts Monday seeking to secure Meek's release “immediately.”

Danaja Jai's music style is eccentric to say the least. There is no box she desires to live in. She creates whatever sound that comes to her head. Although there is no particular genre she claims most people would associate her style with a combination of Neo-Soul, Pop, Jazz, Hip Hop, R&B, and Gospel. Her idea is to build and manifest her own unique wave of different sounds that aren't usually Integrated together. With her distinctive raspy voice and simple but intricate melodies you never know what you're going to get from her.
