BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Police in Baltimore have arrested a 24-year-old man in connection with the shooting death of 23-year-old Shiand Miller and three-year-old Shaniya Gilmore who were found in the car Friday.

Devon Sample, of the 4800 block of Melbourne Road, is charged with first-degree murder in the case. Police said Sample is the father of Miller’s unborn child.

Investigators said Sample was taken into custody shortly after the pregnant mother and her daughter were discovered shot to death in the 200 block of Boswell Road on Friday.

Family members of the victims told WJZ Friday that Miller was eight months pregnant.

In a statement Saturday morning, Baltimore City Police Commissioner Michael Harrison called the murder “tragic.”

“This is a tragic situation where family and friends are left suffering and mourning over the loss of loved ones. I want to commend the hard work of our dedicated Homicide detectives for quickly apprehending the suspect for this despicable act of violence. I can only pray that family and friends of the victims and our city can begin the healing process,” he said.

On the road where Miller and Gilmore were found, messages of support were spray-painted on the concrete.

Police are still investigating the case and have not released a possible motive, though Gilmore’s great grandfather said Miller and Sample were not getting along.

“Her and her new baby’s father had been arguing,” Milton Johnson said.

Family members have set up a GoFundMe page to raise money to cover funeral expenses.

“The execs at #VH1 came up with the show with me in mind, and pitched it to me, and I thought it was amazing because a lot of people don’t know because we don’t talk about it on Braxton Family Values, that my mother was a hairstylist growing up.” She continued, “For me, hair has been a thing in our household, especially because my mom is a hairstylist and there are 5 women, and so this is something near and dear to my heart.” She says that she wanted to lend a helping hand with some many catastrophic stories about bad hairstylists.

Video After The Jump

In this clip, Frank Cullotta detailed the events surrounding the "M&M Murders in Chicago," where his two burglary partners, Jimmy Miraglia and Billy McCarthy, were tortured and murdered. Cullotta explained the events leading up to the incident, which started with Jimmy and Billy killing a waitress and two brothers connected to The Outfit, Chicago's only mob family. The incident angered The Outfit, and Tony Spilotro, who was portrayed by Joe Pesci in "Casino," came to his childhood friend Frank and asked if he was in on the situation. After clearing his name, Frank helped Tony get Billy, who was tortured and killed before they picked up Jimmy. To hear the full story, including how an incident with Jimmy's capture inspired a scene in "Goodfellas."

Video After The Jump

The NYPD just released body cam footage of the minutes leading up to the chokehold out by Rockaway Sunday, and it's incredibly telling.

The face-off with officers actually started with three different men, two of whom were white, and they were all talking trash to the cops trying to understand why they were out there approaching them to begin with. The guy who ended up getting cuffed was among the group too, but he was the only one to get tackled and roughed up in the end.

It's not entirely clear why the cops decided to bum-rush him -- you hear in the body cam footage that one of the officers felt he "squared up" and got into a fighting stance, and apparently the cops felt threatened. It doesn't look like he did though from what we can tell.

In any case, after the police pounced ... one of the officers wrapped their arm around the guy's neck, which caused his buddies to scream in a panic. He was only held down for a few seconds, and it does not appear he lost consciousness during the ordeal.

You can also hear multiple people standing around and watching, openly asking why the black guy was the only one to get arrested -- when the other two guys (one in particular) was mouthing off just as much, if not more so. No clear answers for that one, but check it out for yourself.

The officer who was caught on camera applying a chokehold to a man he and other cops were trying to detain has now been suspended from the force ... and won't make a dime while he's out.

President Donald Trump's longest-serving national security adviser John Bolton condemned his presidency as dangerously damaging to the United States and argued the 2020 election is the last "guardrail" to protect the country from him.

In an exclusive interview with ABC News, Bolton offered a brutal indictment of his former boss, saying, "I hope (history) will remember him as a one-term president who didn't plunge the country irretrievably into a downward spiral we can't recall from. We can get over one term -- I have absolute confidence, even if it's not the miracle of a conservative Republican being elected in November. Two terms, I'm more troubled about."

In the interview with ABC News Chief Global Affairs Correspondent Martha Raddatz and in his new book, "The Room Where It Happened," Bolton paints Trump as "stunningly uninformed," making "erratic" and "irrational" decisions, unable to separate his personal and political interests from the country's, and marked and manipulated by foreign adversaries.

"I don't think he's a conservative Republican. I'm not going to vote for him in November -- certainly not going to vote for Joe Biden either. I'm going to figure out a conservative Republican to vote in," he told Raddatz.

Since excerpts of the book -- out June 23 -- leaked, Bolton has faced a tsunami of criticism both from Trump and his allies, for betraying his trust, and from Trump's critics, for coming out against the president now when he refused to testify before the House impeachment hearings and stayed silent with Trump on trial in the Senate.

Trump himself has blasted Bolton as a "wacko" and "liar," while accusing him of revealing classified information and attacking him personally: "Everybody in the White House hated John Bolton." Those comments contradict what Trump said just months ago after Bolton left the administration, telling reporters in November, "I like John Bolton. I always got along with him."

In his interview, Bolton predicted Trump's response would be "volcanic," countering, "It's typical of the Trump administration that when faced with criticism, they don't deal with the substance of the criticism, they attack the person, which I fully expect and doesn't surprise me."

"The president isn't worried about foreign governments reading this book. He's worried about the American people reading this book," Bolton added, saying he was "very conscious" to avoid including classified information, but, "The people of the country need to hear the reality."

Bubba Wallace -- the only Black driver in NASCAR's top series -- confirms a noose was found in his team's garage stall at Talladega Superspeedway on Sunday ... and now the racing org is investigating.

The noose was found by a member of Wallace's team -- just hours after someone flew a Confederate flag over the legendary Alabama track to protest NASCAR banning the symbol at all events.

The crew member who found the noose immediately alerted NASCAR, which is now working with law enforcement to find the culprit.

"We are angry and outraged, and cannot state strongly enough how seriously we take this heinous act," NASCAR said.

"We have launched an immediate investigation, and will do everything we can to identify the person(s) responsible and eliminate them from the sport."

Wallace called the situation a "despicable act of racism and hatred" -- and says he's "incredibly saddened."

He added, "We will not be deterred by the reprehensible actions of those who seek to spread hate. As my mother told me today, 'They are just trying to scare you.'"

"This will not break me, I will not give in nor will I back down. I will continue to proudly stand for what I believe in."

LeBron James offered his support to Wallace -- calling the entire situation "sickening."

"[Bubba Wallace] my brother! Know you don’t stand alone," Bron said ... "I’m right here with you as well as every other athlete."

"I just want to continue to say how proud I am of you for continuing to take a stand for change here in America and sports! NASCAR I salute you as well!"

As for the confederate flag flyover which took place before the Geici 500 race was set to begin -- still unclear who was responsible for that. NASCAR says they're looking into that as well.

Video After The Jump

A second former Minneapolis police officer who is currently facing charges related to George Floyd's death is free, for now and immediately got a taste of what his life will be like out in public.

J. Alexander Kueng was released at about 7:30 p.m. Friday on $750,000 bail with conditions. While out shopping when he was recognized by a woman in a food store. She starts recording while questioning him.

"So, you're out of prison and you're comfortably shopping in Cub Foods as if you didn't do anything?" she asks.

"I wouldn't call it comfortably. I would say getting necessities ... or helping," Kueng responds.

"I don't think you should have that right. I don't think you should even be out on bail," the woman continues. "You're literally out here comfortably as if you didn't kill that man? Did you think people weren't going to recognize you? You don't have the right to be here. You killed somebody in cold blood. You do not have the right to be here. We want you to be locked up."

Kueng’s release comes more than a week after fellow former officer Thomas Lane was released on bail. Like Kueng and Tou Thao, Lane was charged with aiding and abetting in Floyd’s death.

The officers were on scene as Derek Chauvin kneeled on George Floyd at 38th and Chicago while taking him into custody. Floyd became unresponsive during the arrest and was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Chauvin is charged with murder in the case.

Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez heaped praise on countless teens who punked Donald Trump and his campaign Saturday night in a big, big way.

Trump and co. had been touting that huge crowds -- 100,000 strong -- would show up for his Tulsa rally, yet he couldn't even fill a 19,000 seat arena ... it was only 2/3 full.

Enter TikTok users and K-pop fans, who started their own campaign, registering for tickets to the Trump rally with obviously no intention of going. This is why, in part, the Trump campaign bragged 1 million people had registered.

AOC was beside herself, saying ... "you just got ROCKED by teens on TikTok who flooded the Trump campaign w/ fake ticket reservations & tricked you into believing a million people wanted your white supremacist open mic enough to pack an arena during COVID. Shout out to Zoomers. Y’all make me so proud."

TikTok ... where some campaigns happen, and some don't.
