Better TV had the chance to catch up with 50 Cent recently at the launch of Street King Energy Drink. They talked with 50 about what inspired him to start the ambitious project, what made him choose the name "Street King" and why he chose an energy drink instead of alcohol for the initiative.
"Alcohol would probably be an easy fit because alcohol is consumed where music is played, the bar, the nightclub, whatever kind of club," 50 said. "Energy is more a reflection of my lifestyle because I don't drink. So, it would be hard for me to be supportive of an alcohol beverage when I don't drink."
Many of 50's celebrity friends were in attendance at the event showing their support. UK singer Corinne Baily Rae said she is really happy to see the G-Unit boss giving back.
"I think his music is really enjoyable and I also like his ambition," she said. "He has these intentions to feed a billion children in the developing world and Africa. That's a huge ambition so, I'll be interested to speak to him about that."
"I think it's a partnership. The people, your fans are what put you here. So, when you get to this level of success I think it's only right to give back," said Pepa of Salt-N-Pepa.
Street King is now available everywhere. For more information visit www.StreetKing.com.
Actor Samuel L. Jackson has been declared the highest grossing actor of all time by the Guinness Book of World Records.
Jackson has starred in some of Hollywood's biggest blockbuster films in his 20 plus year career.
Jurassic Park ($914 million), Pulp Fiction ($212 million) and the Star Wars prequels ($2.4 billion) are among his top earners according to the Chicago Tribune.

In 2012 the actor will star as Nick Fury in the highly anticipated movie, The Avengers. That film is expected to do huge box office numbers as well.
Somewhere Tom Cruise, Johnny Depp and Arnold Schwarzenegger are scratching their heads wondering what just happened.

After a six-year hiatus on a journey through motherhood and life outside of music, Goapele has returned with the sensual single, "Play". The song features production from Oakland based duo, Teddy Thunderbolt & Dan Electric, and was written by Goapele herself. Currently available through Skyblaze Recordings/Decon via iTunes and Amazon, the single incorporates elements of funky, down-tempo electronic vibes layered with Goapele's smooth and seductive vocals. The video, which was directed by John Mazyck and Dahveed of Detail Shoppe, was shot in a graphic black and white. It showcases Goapele in a glamorous, high fashion themed setting that gives both an evocative and sensual visual to the pillow talk vibe of the song.
"Play" is just a taste of the musical feast Goapele will be offering this fall when her new album, Break of Dawn, to be released October 24th. Collaborating with an array of creative folks including Kerry "Krucial" Brothers, Bobby Ozuna, Malay, Dan Electric and Bedrock, fans will bare witness to a more free-spirited Goapele. Cee Lo Green and Lupe Fiasco chopped it up on the premier of Fuse's new show 'Talking To Strangers.'
Lupe talked about what it was like growing up as one of nine siblings, raised by a militant father who was a member of the Black Panthers, how he got his stage name and Nas being his favorite rapper.
He also performed “Out of My Head,” “The Show Goes On,” and “Daydreamin’.”
Beanie Sigel was once a key a key member of Jay-Z's Roc-A-Fella team. The Philadelphia rapper and his State Property family helped Hov build a dynasty. But when that dynasty crumbled so did his relationship Jay-Z.
Starting in October 2009, Beans began airing Hov out on a several diss tracks. He released "Kill A Jigga Man", "What You Talkin Bout (Average Cat)" and "I Go Off", but Jay never responded.
Today (May 31) Beanie issued an apology to the man he dissed so viciously.
“What Mike Epps say? ‘Gangstas f*ck up too,’” Sigel told XXLMag.com. “Whatever I felt this dude Jay did wrong to me, it can’t outweigh the one thing he did do for me – he gave me an opportunity. Dude gave me an opportunity. A lot of people don’t get opportunities. He gave me that. That outweighs everything. I need that in black and white. I got caught in the moment and put my feelings out there. I should have never done that.”
Whether or not his relationship with Jay can be fixed is anybody's guess, but the Broad Street Bully says it could have gotten worse. He told XXL he has an album's worth of disses going at Hov's head, but he won't release them now.
“I was explaining the whole Roc-A-Fella sh*t and a lot of feelings were going to get hurt,” he said. “I was airing sh*t out. Just the homies could listen to that when they come into the studio. I couldn’t put that out. It wouldn’t sit right with me.”
Next up for Beans is a mixtape and album with DJ Green Lantern.
What do you make of Beanie's apology? Do you think Jay-Z will ever forgive him and work with him again?
