Joseph Patterson is back in jail, a place he will likely become very familiar with over the next few years.

The 28-year old was initially arrested in Sioux Falls, South Dakota last October in connection with the death of Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson's 2-year old son, Tyrese Ruffin.

Tyrese Ruffin

Patterson, who was dating Ruffin's mother, was was babysitting the child at the time he was fatally injured.  Patterson called 911 to report the boy was choking. Doctors at the hospital determined that the injuries were not accidental.

Patterson was charged with aggravated assault and aggravated assault on an infant. His bail was set at $750,000.

He bonded out of jail, but was arrested again on Wednesday, June 25. This time he's accused of abducting Ruffin's mother and "attempting to induce serious bodily harm by applying pressure on her throat and neck, or by blocking her nose or mouth", according to KSFY. He's also charged with causing "property damage in the amount of $400 or less and one count of interference with emergency communication for interrupting another person's use of a communication device while seeking emergency aid."

He's currently being held at Minnehaha County Jail on $1 million cash bond. His trial for the murder of Tyrese Ruffin begins in October.

According to TMZ, the Grammy Award winning producer fathered 2 children with a woman in 1997 and 1998. He was initially ordered to pay $6,600 a month in child support in 1999. That figure was later raised to $8500.

In 2001 Stevie stopped paying and his debt ballooned to what he currently owes.

Video After The Jump

LOS ANGELES (Associated Press) — Donald Sterling won't get to fight for his Los Angeles Clippers in front of NBA owners next week. His only chance now is in court.

He could just pocket about $1 billion, his share of the proceeds from the record-breaking sale of a team that the league was prepared to take away from him. But don't count on it. His lawyers say he'll fight the league and his family to keep the team he bought for just $12 million in 1981.

His estranged wife negotiated the deal to sell the Clippers for $2 billion to former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer, saying she owns half the team and controls the family trust. A person close to the family told The Associated Press that Shelly Sterling took over the family's assets because Donald Sterling, 80, was stripped of his ability to act as a co-trustee after two neurologists determined he was suffering from dementia.

12350855101?profile=original

The individual, who is familiar with the trust and the medical evaluations but wasn't authorized to speak publicly, said Sterling was deemed "mentally incapacitated" according to the trust's conditions because he showed "an inability to conduct business affairs in a reasonable and normal manner."

"There is specific language and there are protocols about what to do, and steps in order to get a sole trustee position and that's what took place in the last couple of days," the individual said.

On Friday, the NBA canceled next week's hearing to oust Sterling, instead moving forward to vote on whether to approve the sale to Ballmer. Also Friday, Sterling's attorneys filed a federal lawsuit against the league and Commissioner Adam Silver, asking for damages in excess of $1 billion.

Steve Ballmer

The lawsuit says Donald Sterling is still a co-trustee and doesn't want to sell the team.

"The assertion that Donald Sterling lacks mental capacity is absurd," attorney Bobby Samini said. He would not give more details on Donald Sterling's condition.

The suit alleges that the NBA violated Sterling's constitutional rights by relying on information from an illegal recording that publicized racist remarks he made to a girlfriend. It also says the league committed a breach of contract by fining Sterling $2.5 million and that it violated antitrust laws by forcing a sale.

Shelly Sterling said that she had agreed to sell the team to Ballmer "under her authority as the sole trustee of The Sterling Family Trust, which owns the Clippers."

Donald Sterling can try to reinstate his trusteeship by appealing to the California Probate Court.

The NBA said Friday that the league, Shelly Sterling and The Sterling Family Trust had "resolved their dispute over the ownership of the Los Angeles Clippers."

"Under the agreement, the Clippers will be sold to Steve Ballmer, pending approval by the NBA Board of Governors, and the NBA will withdraw its pending charge to terminate the Sterlings' ownership of the team," it said.

The league said that Shelly Sterling and The Sterling Family Trust also "agreed not to sue the NBA and to indemnify the NBA against lawsuits from others, including Donald Sterling."

That means whatever monetary damages Donald Sterling may receive under the suit — filed on behalf of Sterling and The Sterling Family Trust — may go out one pocket and back in the other unless he is reinstated as a trustee and can nullify the agreement.

The medical evaluation was made earlier this month when Donald Sterling made voluntary visits to two neurologists who conducted tests, including brain scans, the individual said. Though Donald Sterling is no longer a co-trustee of The Sterling Family Trust, he still retains his 50 percent ownership and still receives proceeds from the sale, the individual said.

But Sterling, already a billionaire, seems uninterested in the cash. His lawsuit seeks the elimination of his lifetime ban from the NBA.

"Mr. Sterling's lawsuit is predictable, but entirely baseless," NBA general counsel Rick Buchanan said. "Among other infirmities, there was no 'forced sale' of his team by the NBA — which means his antitrust and conversion claims are completely invalid. Since it was his wife Shelly Sterling, and not the NBA, that has entered into an agreement to sell the Clippers, Mr. Sterling is complaining about a set of facts that doesn't even exist."

The ownership hearing had been scheduled for next Tuesday after the NBA charged Sterling with damaging the league with his racist comments. A three-quarters vote of owners to support the charge would have terminated the Sterlings' ownership, and the league would have sold the team.

Ballmer said in a statement that he is honored to have his name submitted to the NBA for approval. The price has blown past previous offers for an NBA team.

"Obviously, I saw $2 billion. That gave me a reaction," said Miami Heat star LeBron James, who had been vocal in calling for both Sterlings to be out of the league. "... Any time a 'B' goes after a number, man, you already know that you're talking about some real money."

12350856083?profile=original

Ballmer and investor Chris Hansen headed a group that agreed to a deal to buy the Kings from the Maloof family in January 2013 with the intention of moving the team to Seattle, where the SuperSonics played until 2008.

But Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson lobbied the NBA for time to put together a bid to keep the team in California, and though the Ballmer-Hansen group later increased its offer, owners voted to deny the bid for relocation and the Kings were sold to Vivek Ranadive.

Johnson, who has been advising the NBA Players Association in the wake of Sterling's comments, praised Ballmer in a series of tweets Friday night.

"When the Clips play next season, players will be proud to wear the logo on their chest & fans will be proud to cheer for their hometown team," Johnson wrote.

Philadelphia law enforcement and city officials have been giving Meek Mill trouble for years. The "Amen" rapper has decided to strike back by filing a lawsuit against the City of Brotherly Love.

During a traffic stop on Halloween 2012, police said they smelled weed in Meek's car. Cops handcuffed and detained him while they searched the vehicle. Nothing was found during the search, but it caused Meek to miss a $22,000 private jet flight to Atlanta for a function and to lose a $39,000 appearance fee.

12350754472?profile=original

Meek, real name Robert Williams, also claims the negative publicity surrounding the arrest hurt him during negotiations with Puma. Instead of the $2 million deal he was seeking the Dream Chasers Records CEO had to settle for $650,000.

According to TMZ, the 26-year old rapper is suing the city of Philadelphia for the money he lost, false imprisonment and invasion of privacy.

They don't call him "Money May" for nothing. Floyd Mayweather Jr. has put in the hard work during his rise to become one of the best boxers in history and he's paid handsomely for it. He's currently the WBC welterweight champion, WBC super welterweight champion and the WBA super welterweight champion.

Floyd recently decided to splurge on a $1 million watch designed by Rafaello and Co. According to TMZ, the only part of the time piece not covered in Russian cut diamonds is the white gold hands and leather band.

12350726098?profile=original

Floyd owns the trademark on the design meaning it can't be duplicated without his permission.

The champ returns to the ring on May 3, to defend his welterweight belt against Marcos Maidana at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

DMX has been planning a European tour for some time now, but because of a huge child support debt owed to one of his baby's mothers he wasn't allowed to have a passport.

Dark Man finally settled the $1 million debt with Patricia Trejo, allowing him to cross the pond, according to TMZ. Terms of the settlement weren't disclosed.

The $1 million he owed was an accumulation of 10 years of back child support. Good to see DMX has gotten that behind him and is able to earn some cash on the road.

Back in September when he appeared on the Dr. Phil show, the "Slippin'" hit maker said he had 11 children by 6 different women and another one on the way, so he'll need the money.

The rapper performed in Cyprus on Friday, December 27. Tonight he will hit the stage at the Movida Nightclub in Dubai.

Forbes estimates the 24-year old Atlanta beat maker has raked in $1.1 million in the last 12 months. He talked to the publication about his production style, working with Miley Cyrus, 2 Chainz, Future and more

On his production style

When I do music I don’t think about urban music, pop or country, I just think about a good song. Right now, I don’t feel this generation is thinking about ‘this is too urban,’” said Williams over the phone from Atlanta. “It’s either cool or not; it’s not in a category, it’s not about any of that.

12350514684?profile=original

On working with Miley Cyrus

She said she connected with ["We Can't Stop"] because it reminded her of some parties she’d been to,” said Williams. “Her album was pretty much done but I felt there was a whole catalogue for what me and this girl could do. Then I had “23” on my computer and as soon as she heard it she was like ‘I think I can pull it off.’

On working with Future and 2 Chainz

I really believed in 2 Chainz, I really believed in Future, and I was going to the studio with them every single day.

Video After The Jump

Million of people have been wondering what exactly happened that caused the rift between 50 Cent and Floyd Mayweather Jr. Everyone saw the Twitter war of words between the two and 50's announcement that there was no longer a Money Team or TMT Promotions, which was supposed to be a joint venture between Floyd and 50.

50 instead has moved on to form the boxing promotion company SMS Promotions that has its own stable of fighters.

50 sat down with Big Boy's Neighborhood recently and doesn't pull any punches while breaking down the source of the problems between him and Floyd.

"As he was actually going in to jail he asked me to help him with Mayweather Promotions," 50 said. "As I took a look I realized there is no Mayweather Promotions. There's no LLC, no [Corporate] seal, it's not incorporated. It's just a name. You see technically Floyd is a Golden Boy [Promotions] fighter. He fights on every Golden Boy card. They do all the footwork. So, when he says help him with Mayweather Promotions and it's not there I go 'OK I know what he means.' He wants me to put it together for him. I do TMT Promotions, I get it all the way together. Sign the actual fighters. We had acquisitions of [Yuriorkis] Gamboa, I had to negotiate a release, it was $1.2 million. Andre Dirrell, IBF Champion Billy Dib and WBA Champion Celestino Caballero."

50 goes on to explain that after he signed the fighters trouble soon started.

"I brought [the fighters] over while Floyd was incarcerated. When he comes home there's the 'let's get Floyd back in pocket campaign' that goes on on where it's $300,000 chains being bought, buying him a new Lamborghini, all these new things. And I'm sitting there going 'yo, when you gonna give me the money?' It ain't no pressure there but when is he gonna say I'm gonna give you the other half. Why I gotta ask you for it? When he finally does bring up the actual situation he acted like he didn't know anything, like "Ahh I didn't tell y'all to do that. I didn't tell you to do that.' And I'm looking at him him and he looked me in my face saying he didn't tell me to do that."

12349692489?profile=original

50 says the war of words on Twitter was real, but he decided to put a stop to it.

"That's not Floyd. Floyd don't Tweet. That's not him on instagram. He's got somebody next to him," 50 explained. "You see everyone around him is co-dependent. So they're gonna roll with whatever he says regardless. They tell him what to say. As soon as he gets confused he says, 'OK Five, call Al [Haymon]. Let's say this, if you have a person that's advising you that's a Harvard graduate. They would advise you to have an accountant, with the kind of money that Floyd actually has. That's not in place. If you had a person that's a Harvard graduate you would have maybe business managers at Merrill Lynch or Goldman Sachs. That's not in place. I don't mind telling the truth in situations like this. He's my brother, I love him. My big beef with him right now is [his son] broke his arm and he ain't call me. This will pass. I didn't come to you saying I'm going to be a boxing promoter. I'm around it and I do enjoy it before I even met Floyd. It's entertaining and exciting for me and I know I can do things that's innovative with the actual sport."

12349692881?profile=original

50 clarified that there is no real beef with Floyd, but he doesn't want to be backed into a corner.

"It's not beef...Floyd, he ain't that man. I'm telling you man if they push me I'll mess up in front of everybody," 50 said. "I have that capability to just go there because it's just the way I'm brought up. I never ran from anything because I didn't have anybody to go to. Where I'm going? Home to get me? Ain't nobody there."

The G-Unit boss admitted that he and Floyd have had physical altercations before.

"I won every time," he said jokingly, before turning serious. "Twice we got into it. It was more like out of reflex though. He punched me."

Ryan Leslie is going to have to dig deep in his pockets to pay off the $1 million he offered as a reward for his stolen laptop after a jury in a Manhattan federal court sided with the man who found and returned it.

Leslie's laptop came up missing in 2010 while he was in Germany performing. Desperate to get the laptop back Leslie offered $20,000 initially as a reward for its return, then upped the offer to $1 million.

Armin Augstein found the laptop while walking his dog and turned it over to German police in November 2010. Leslie refused to pay up claiming that the hard drive was corrupted and his intellectual property was lost.

The singer/rapper/producer told MTV's RapFix Live last month that he lost part of his new Les Is More album as well as collaborations he had been working on for Jay-Z and Kanye West's Watch the Throne album.

"There were records that I was working on, multi-tracks that I had for the Watch the Throne album," R. Les said. "If you read the credits for Watch the Throne, I'm not on that album. And obviously my album isn't on there."

Judge Harold Baer Jr. yesterday told jurors that because Leslie disposed of the hard drive by returning it to the manufacturer after Augstein claimed the reward, they could assume that the data was there when Augstein handed it over according to the New York Post.

Leslie said he was "disappointed" in the jury's decision and later took to Twitter to tell his fans not to believe everything they read.

12349683700?profile=original

Augstein told the New York Post he was glad the American justice system worked in his favor.

"I’m very happy that the American judicial system, which is so totally different from ours, functioned so well with a jury that are not professionals and are laymen,” he said in German through one his lawyers, Steven Thal.

12349684084?profile=original

Armin Augstein

Augstein added that nobody forced Leslie to offer such a high reward.

No one forced him to make an offer of so much money for a finder’s fee,” Augstein said. “It seems like he believes that which he promised, he doesn’t have to live up to.”

Leslie may appeal the verdict.

The IRS plans to collect their money from Nas one way or another. Back in March it was reported that the Internal Revenue Service would be garnishing Nas’ earnings from music publishers BMI and ASCAP until his $6 million tax debt was paid off. Now the government is going after his tour money.

TMZ is reporting that the Georgia Department of Revenue filed new legal documents and obtained an order commanding Live Nation, the promotional company behind Nas' current tour with Lauryn Hill, to garnish $1,083,435 from the rapper's earnings for taxes he owes for the years 2006, 2007, 2009, 2010.

Flo Rida is facing some serious legal trouble with the IRS over unpaid taxes. According to The Daily Mail, the rapper owes the IRS $1,040,777.45. A lien has been placed on his 2.3-acre South Florida estate meaning he could be out of a home soon if he doesn't pay up.

According to legal documents the IRS filed in Miami-Dade County Court on September 7, Flo Rida hasn’t filed taxes since 2009.

To make matters worse for the rapper whose hits include "Low," Wild Ones" and "Whistle," security company ADT is taking him to court over an unpaid bill.

12349531652?profile=original

ADT hooked up Flo's $58,000 state of the art security system with numerous sensors, 27 cameras and smoke detectors. The company claims claims that Flo, real name, Tramar Dillard, paid the initial deposit of $19,366.66, but has failed to pay the remaining $38,733.

ADT is seeking the remaining fee plus interest, bringing the total amount owed to $47,134.40.

Flo claims that he didn't authorize the installation. According to him the contract is signed under his manager’s name, so he doesn't believe he's responsible for the bill.

For power couple Kim Kardashian and Kanye West money is no object. On West's 35th birthday in June, Kardashian bought him a $750,000 rare Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4.

Kardashian turns 32 on October 21st and word is West is shelling out $1 million to make sure it's a perfect birthday for his reality star girlfriend.

Kim has been really down about turning 32 and having two failed marriages behind her and no children, so he wants to make this extra-special," a source tells The Sun UK. “Plus it’s her first birthday since they’ve been together as a couple. Kanye has never been shy of splashing out on the women he loves, but this time he’s pulling out all the stops with presents.”

West reportedly has set up a trip to Pine Cay, an 800-acre privately owned island in the Turks and Caicos group (just south of the Bahamas). There the couple will party with a group of friends for a special birthday celebration.

A chef from a five-star hotel will cook for them privately every night.

The Louis Vuitton Don is also spending a grip of money on designer gear for Kardashian, including a "made-to-order special edition Prada bag, lined in a “KK” print, a pink diamond bracelet and a couture Chanel dress."

It seems pretty extravagant, but West has professed his love for Kim in the song "Way Too Cold."

And I’ll admit, I had fell in love with Kim / Around the time she had fell in love with him / Well that’s cool, baby girl, do your thing / Lucky I ain’t had Jay drop him from the team," Ye rapped.

Kardashian seems to feel the same. She appeared on The View earlier this month where she spoke with Barbara Waltersabout her relationship with West.

"What about marriage? Do you want his child? Where are we?Walters asked Kardashian.

"Technically I'm still married," Kardashian said of her still-pending divorce from Kris Humphries. "Anything I'd be in now would be a permanent relationship." She added that she "thinks" West is her "perfect match."

"Is this the one that you're in now?" Walters asked. "I hope so," the reality star replied. "I believe so."
