Video After The Jump

Report via CNN -- A Phoenix couple is seeking $10 million from the city after a video showed police officers drawing a gun on them after their 4-year-old daughter allegedly stole a doll from a Family Dollar store.

Dravon Ames and fiancee Iesha Harper told CNN they didn't notice when their daughter walked out with a Barbie from the store last month. They've filed a notice of claim against the city for $10 million, which serves as a precursor to a lawsuit.

Soon after they left the store, Ames said the couple pulled into an apartment complex to drop their daughter off at a babysitter. Then an officer began banging against their window, yelling and threatening to kill them.

"Our hands are up, we're just trying not to get shot, trying to stay calm," Ames said. "He had a gun drawn."

Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego apologized to the family in a statement on Saturday, saying the city is speeding up the implementation of body-worn cameras across its police department.

"I, like many others, am sick over what I have seen in the video depicting Phoenix police interacting with a family and young children. It was completely inappropriate and clearly unprofessional," Gallego wrote in a Facebook post. "There is no situation in which this behavior is ever close to acceptable. As a mother myself, seeing these children placed in such a terrifying situation is beyond upsetting."

Officer did not identify himself, family says

Ames said there were no sirens or lights to indicate that they were being pulled over beforehand and the officer who was pointing a gun at them did not immediately identify himself as an officer.
The incident took place on May 29, the family said. Police said they were made aware of video on June 11.

In the 12-minute blurred-out video posted on the department's Facebook page, one officer can be seen handcuffing Ames, first on the ground and then against a police car. The officer kicks Ames and can be heard yelling multiple times, "When I tell you to do something, you f****** do it."

Another officer appears to be pulling a gun on the passenger side of the couple's vehicle before Harper exits the car, holding a small child, with a second child by her side.
An officer is seen attempting to yank the child from her arms before a bystander offers to take her children.

Harper, who was five months pregnant at the time, said she was terrified.

"I I really thought he was gonna shoot me in front of the kids," she told CNN by phone Friday. She chose to give her two children to a "complete stranger because I didn't trust the police to have her."
During the video, officers can be heard telling her to get her hands up.

The city has 60 days to respond to the notice of claim and the next step is filing a lawsuit, said Thomas Horne, the family's attorney. In his notice, he says the officers committed battery and unlawful imprisonment, among others, and both the police department and city are liable because of "inadequate policies, training, supervision."

The department is investigating

Authorities said the incident is under investigation.

"The Phoenix Police Department takes all allegations of misconduct seriously and for this reason, this incident is currently being investigated by the Professional Standards Bureau," the department said.
It is not clear who recorded the video or what transpired beforehand. There is no body cam footage of the incident, Phoenix Police Department Sgt. Tommy Thompson told CNN.

Thompson said they cannot provide additional information due to pending litigation.

He told CNN affiliate KNXV that the officer who is seen sweeping Ames' leg is now on a nonenforcement assignment. The police department has not named any of the officers involved.
Thompson also told the affiliate there was more to it than the claim of the stolen doll, but would not expound on it. The affiliate reported that police said there were other stolen items in the vehicle besides the doll.

While the family's claim said the incident happened "on or about May 29," the police statement said it was May 27.

A community meeting with the city's police chief and other officials is scheduled for Tuesday, Gallego said in the Facebook post.

Police chief 'disturbed' by officer's action

In a video posted to the department's Facebook page Friday, Phoenix Police Chief Jeri Williams said she was "disturbed by the language and the actions of our officer."

"I assure you that this incident is not representative of the majority of Phoenix police officers who serve this city," Williams said.

The chief said she began an "immediate internal investigation" as soon as she became aware of the video.

"I wish investigations could be handled instantly, but each one takes time and deserves the due diligence before we can discuss specific details," she said.

Harper and Ames say both their daughters are traumatized, and their 4-year-old has been having nightmares and wetting the bed since the incident.

Their second daughter, just a year old, suffered "dead arm," after the officer tried to yank her from her mother.

The couple is still shaken up too. Ames said he was worried about his children and felt helpless during the incident.

"I'm supposed to protect my family, I'm cuffed up ... I'm hearing my daughter screaming, my fiancée being handled. It broke me down so much," he said.

Reverend Jarrett Maupin, a spokesman for the family, told CNN Ames is lucky to be alive.
"He was totally compliant, submissive even still not enough to save him from the ferocious violence of the police department," Maupin said.

The couple says they were both released shortly after the arrest and were not charged.

(Miami Herald) - A $1 million bond was set Thursday for a man who police say cut off the penis of his girlfriend’s new boyfriend in Chicago.

Justin Foster, 28, was arrested in Tallahassee late last month on charges of attempted murder, jail records show. Foster was brought to Cook County by authorities on Sept. 20 to face the charges.

Judge Anjana Hansen granted Foster a $1 million bond in Skokie court Thursday after denying his legal team’s suggestion of a $250,000 bond, records show.

According to the Chicago Tribune, Foster took a plane from Atlanta to Chicago, rented a car and drove to Des Plaines. That’s when prosecutors say Foster confronted a 26-year-old man on the street, “hit him in the head with a tire iron, carved initials into his leg and then cut off his penis,” the newspaper reported.

After leaving the unidentified man in a pool of blood, Foster then threw the man’s genitals over a fence, drove back to the airport and caught a flight back to Georgia.

The victim, who suffered permanent brain damage, survived after a passerby called 911, police said.

Video After The Jump

Akon stopped by to talk with VladTV about his light up Africa Project, how he used to live without electricity, and how the politics of starting his project were extremely tricky. Akon let us know that he grew up in Senegal a small country on the West coast of Africa. Akon grew up without electricity and running water, and when it came time to eat, cook, or wash he had to use the same water from a running water well for everything. "When I came to the United States, and [saw] the projects or what they claimed to be projects, Vlad I thought they was living in luxury, compared to what poverty is back home..." Akon explained that the US citizens have it a lot better than others around the world.

So what led to Akon lighting up Africa? His grandmother was the main inspiration. He explained she never moved from her hometown and still lived without electricity. "Every time I would come, I would try to upgrade her, but she would never take it... one day I said ma I'm not coming to visit you anymore... you have to at least let me put electricity in the house. Come to find out the grid was so far out; I don't care how much money I had there was no way I could bring electricity to her." That's when he said something had to be done, not just for his grandmother but for everyone in the rural area living without power. "Without electricity, you can't even begin to develop a country, let alone your own home."

Akon got started by partnering with a some of his Billionaire friends he made along his career, and he wanted to build power plants in the five major areas of Africa so the countries could share the plants, but as he got his investors together, he began running into the politics. "I started to realize how deep it was cause this is the type of business that starts real wars, the politics was little heavier than I expected..."Akon explained it was too complicated for him to be dealing with, so while searching for another solution, he came across Solar Energy. "So I went to China, met up with some friends out there, some manufacturers, and aligned myself with one of the biggest companies in China, that's own by the Chinese Government, that manufactures Solar..." Akon learned a lot while doing this project, like how there was a significant tax on solar products due to George. W Bush. "He did it because his main agenda was in oil, he needed the oil to keep burning right, so anything renewable he wanted to keep away because if effected the money." Akon took advantage of all of the unused solar products, and the Chinese manufacturers gave him a Billion dollar credit line to start his project. Akon's project is now in 15 countries, and he's provided almost 16 million people in Africa with power, and energy.

A former female assistant of Katt Williams claims she was hospitalized for three days after the comedian physically assaulted her.

In legal documents obtained by TMZ, Angela Triplett-Hill alleges the 44-year old "Friday After Next" star became irate because she took a phone call while they were on the Los Angeles set of a film in 2014.

12352308871?profile=original

Williams reportedly ordered her to get inside a van with him, but she resisted out of fear because she had witnessed him beating other women in the past

Triplett-Hill says he called her a bitch. She responded by telling him he "was bigger than that," which only made Williams more enraged.

At that point, he allegedly hit her in the face, slammed her to the ground and knocked her out.

She's suing Williams for more than $1 million.

T.I.'s upscale Atlanta restaurant Scales 925 allegedly owes it's landlord more than $1 million in back rent. As a result it has been served an eviction notice, according to the New York Post.

In a since deleted Instagram post from Tuesday. August 9, the Grand Hustle Records boss distanced himself from the situation. Calling the opening of the eatery a "huge mistake" and seemed to blame it's problems on his business partner, Charles Hughes.

"Attn. Attn.!!!! Everybody This is Charles," the rapper captioned a photo. "He is NOT associated with me or my company in any capacity. He IS NOT authorized to book anything on me or my company's behalf. We have NO dealings nor partnerships outside of my restaurant Scales925 (which was a HUGE mistake in hindsight) DO NOT call him about any of my business. If it ain't Clay, Doug, KT, Hannah, C-Rodd, Gilly,or G Roberson it ain't legit!!!! This message has been written by, endorsed & rapprochement by #TheKingBitch #FuqWhoDontLikeit #SeeMeWhenUSeeMe."

12352288286?profile=original

This latest news comes on the heels of a lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court in Atlanta against T.I. and Hughes in July, by 12 former restaurant employees over unpaid wages.

12352289101?profile=original

Part of the legal documents obtained by Billboard paint Hughes as an unscrupulous businessman

"Hughes has made fraudulent statements to restaurant employees concerning the hours the employees worked at SCALES 925. For example, Hughes used a time and billing software call ALOHA for keeping track of employee hours. The software would delete hours or not keep track of hours exceeding 40 hours per week. Employees complained to Hughes but were told it was nothing he could do. Hughes also implemented the time and billing software in such a way that it caused employees to claim $35 in tips when the employees did not, in fact, make $35 in tips. Employees were also coerced to work off the clock for three hours before they were allowed to go home.”

Hughes is also accused of depositing restaurant funds into his personal bank account, causing payroll checks to bounce.

"We are aware of the filing. We take allegations like this seriously and are looking into the matter," a rep for Scales 925 told Billboard at the time.

A world renowned producer from Houston has been hit with a lawsuit accusing him of fraud.

Ryan Elder, the CEO of Elder Entertainment, filed legal documents in Bexar County, Texas earlier this month claiming that Mr. Lee sold him 100 beats, some of which were then resold to and used by various rappers in the industry.

"You can't find out someone else is using your music till it comes out," Elder told KTRK. "After doing the research, that's how I found out that all of these songs I own are being used by other people."

12352162060?profile=original

Elder alleges that Lee, real name Leroy Williams Jr., further violated their contract by failing to deliver music videos he was compensated for.

According to Elder, Mr. Lee even sold him music that he didn't own, including songs belonging to Lil Wayne, Ludacris and Rick Ross.

"He sold me those as well, telling me he had complete clearance, he was the owner of it all," Elder says.

12352162077?profile=original

Slim Thug is also named in the lawsuit. It is alleged that the rapper used songs that he knew belonged to Elder on the Boss Hogg Outlawz group album, "Serve & Collect III," as well as his solo projects "Boss Life" and "Hogg Life Vol. II: Still Surviving."

"He knew those songs were owned by me, I told him several months before the album came out. There's proof of that," Elder claims.

Lee denied double selling beats when contacted by KTRK. Slim Thug's manager declined comment.

Elder is asking for up to $1 million in damages.

Wiz Khalifa is taking the label that has been his recording home since 2005 to court in an attempt to free himself from a contract that he feels has taken advantage of him.

Billboard reports that the lawsuit filed Tuesday, May 31, in Los Angeles Superior Court accuses Rostrum Records and Wiz's former manager Benjy Grinberg of profiting from "virtually every aspect of plaintiff's professional life" for more than a decade, and entered a "series of other transactions, all in further violation of the rule against self dealing."

12352157262?profile=original

Wiz's relationship with Grinberg and Rostrum began in 2004 when he was 16. He entered into a verbal agreement that allowed them to manage his career.

In 2005 the Taylor Gang boss signed a 360 deal with the label that called for one album and five options for additional albums. The rapper says his 2016 album titled "Khalifa" fulfilled his obligation to the label.

The lawsuit alleges that Rostrum and Grinberg made significant profits with each release and along the way cut deals with Warner Bros. Records and Atlantic Records for his recordings while "intentionally conceal[ing] material information... in order to profit at his expense."

Wiz terminated his management agreement with them in 2014, and now wants a judge to void his contract with the label.

He's asking for more than $1 million in damages, as well as attorneys' fees and further punitive damages.

"To witness an artist turn on you after supporting them for a number of years is very disheartening," Grinberg told Billboard. "This is an egregious lawsuit filled with inaccuracies, yet unfortunately people sometimes resort to these practices as a way of conducting business.”

"Hey Larry Page I’m down for your help too," wrote West.

As we previously reported, West stated last week that he is $53 million in personal debt. A fact he said he's proud of.

"I know y'all tired of music controlled by money and perception. I'm proud of every dime of debt I got," he continued.

At one point Bone Thugs-N-Harmony were toying with the idea of selling a single copy of their final album for $1million, similar to what Wu Tang Clan did in successfully finding a buyer in Martin Shkreli for their $2 million "Once Upon a Time in Shaolin" project.

I'm like, 'y'all don't even understand what we're saying right now.' We kind of just backed up off of it. It's still options on the table. We looking at other options as well. Over the years there have been countless theories as to who killed Tupac Shakur. The legendary rapper and actor was shot in Las Vegas on the night of September 7, 1996, while in the passenger seat of a BMW being driven by Suge Knight after the two and their entourage left a Mike Tyson fight.

Retired LAPD detective Greg Kading, who led a task force to find out who killed 'Pac and The Notorious B.I.G, believes he knows the people responsible for both murders.

In a documentary titled "Murder Rap: Inside the Biggie and Tupac Murders" Kading points the finger and Sean "Diddy" Combs and Suge Knight. He arrived at that conclusion after three years working on the case.

12351957654?profile=original

Kading claims that Diddy paid $1 million to Crips gang member Duane Keith "Keffe D" Davis to kill 2Pac and Knight.

Shakur was shot multiple times when Davis' cousin, Orlando "Baby Lane" Anderson, fired into Knight's car when it stopped at a red light. Anderson was reportedly a passenger in a white Cadillac. 2Pac died in the hospital on September 13, at the age of 25.

12351958072?profile=original

Knight was not seriously injured, although a bullet fragment hit him in the head.

12351958478?profile=original

Knight allegedly retaliated by paying Bloods gang member Wardell "Poochie" Fouse $13,000 to kill Biggie.

The Brooklyn, New York rapper was shot four times and killed at the age of 24 on March 9, 1997. He and his entourage were leaving a Vibe magazine party in Los Angeles when a dark colored Chevrolet Impala SS pulled alongside the SUV Biggie was traveling in. Someone inside the Chevrolet fired the fatal shots.

12351958869?profile=original

Kading alleges Davis later confessed to his involvement in 2Pac's murder.

"If his intention was to just get away with it, so to speak," Kading told The Huffington Post. "it would have been very easy for him to not include all the details that he did."

Both Anderson and Fouse are now dead. Anderson was killed outside a Compton record shop in May 1998. Fouse was murdered in Compton in July 2003, when he was shot multiple times while riding his motorcycle.

12351959258?profile=original

"Murder Rap" is available on iTunes now and will debut on Netflix in the spring.

(Variety) The force was slightly less powerful over Christmas weekend, with final domestic grosses for "Star Wars: The Force Awakens” down 2.7% to $149.2 million from Sunday’s estimate.

But final international numbers for the space saga exceeded Sunday’s estimates, rising 3.2% to $137.7 million. So the worldwide grosses for the weekend remained just short of $288 million and the 12-day global total stayed at an eye-popping $1.09 billion.

“The Force Awakens” has been demolishing records since opening on Dec. 16. The Christmas weekend saw it generate new milestones for biggest Christmas Day in the U.S. with $49.3 million, biggest Christmas weekend domestically and internationally, and fastest to reach $1 billion worldwide. It crossed the mark in 12 days, beating the previous record holder, “Jurassic World,” by a day.

12351907494?profile=original

The seventh “Star Wars” film is already the fifth-biggest domestic grosser of all time, trailing “Avatar” at $760 million, “Titanic” at $658 million, “Jurassic World” at $652 million and “Marvel’s The Avengers” at $623 million.

“The Force Awakens” is now 15th on the all-time worldwide list, which is topped by those same four films — “Avatar” at $2.78 billion, “Titanic” at $2.19 billion, “Jurassic World” at $1.67 billion and “Marvel’s The Avengers” at $1.52 billion.

(CNNHours after he set foot in a Pennsylvania courtroom to face sexual assault charges, Bill Cosby's attorneys called the criminal case against him "unjustified" and vowed to fight it.

"The charge by the Montgomery County District Attorney's office came as no surprise, filed 12 years after the alleged incident and coming on the heels of a hotly contested election for this county's DA during which this case was made the focal point," Cosby's attorneys said in a statement released after his arraignment Wednesday. "Make no mistake, we intend to mount a vigorous defense against this unjustified charge and we expect that Mr. Cosby will be exonerated by a court of law."

Cosby, whose legacy as a comedian has been tarnished by multiple accusations of sexual assault, faces three felony charges of aggravated indecent assault in the case, which is tied to a 2004 accusation in Montgomery County.

He looked down and was guided as he walked into a small courtroom. The judge set his bail at $1 million and ordered him to surrender his passport. Cosby did not enter a plea.

Following the brief arraignment, Cosby went to the police station in Cheltenham Township, where he was booked per protocol. Cosby posted bail and left the police station.

These are the first charges levied against Cosby since the allegations first arose. Cosby has steadfastly denied any wrongdoing.

After looking at all the evidence in the 2004 allegations, prosecutors decided to charge Cosby "because it was the right thing to do," Montgomery County prosecutor Kevin Steele said.

The district attorney, who was elected to his post last month, did not name the victim, but the accusations he announced parallel the allegations made by former Temple University employee Andrea Constand. She has said Cosby drugged and fondled her in January 2004.

The criminal complaint and Constand's attorney, Dolores Troiani, confirmed that the criminal charges relate to Constand's case.

She was the first person to publicly allege sexual assault by Cosby.
