The mother of slain 6-year-old Zymere Perkins on Wednesday coldly recounted the fatal beating her lover delivered with a broken broomstick, and how she cleaned her child’s limp and unresponsive body, read the bible and did her makeup before carrying the battered little boy to the hospital.

In her third day on the stand in Manhattan Supreme Court in the murder trial of ex-boyfriend Rysheim Smith, Geraldine Perkins, 29, confessed that she stood idly by while her son endured the heartless beating that killed him in their Harlem apartment Sept. 26, 2016.

After a day without food or water — punishment for his supposed misbehavior — Perkins testified she found little Zymere rummaging through the trash for food.

“I heard him walking and going into the garbage bag, eating out of it,” Perkins said. “I thought it was a mouse.”

The next morning, Perkins said she was awoken by Smith yelling at her son for defecating in the living room and hiding it.

“He started to strike him with a broomstick, beating him from his chest to his legs with the broomstick,” said Perkins.

“'Why the f--k did you take a s--t? Why did you take a f-----g s--t in here? There’s a bathroom, you could have used the bathroom,'” she said Smith yelled at the little boy.

The beating intensified when Smith picked a screaming Zymere from the floor and brought him into the bathroom, where he waterboarded him before pulling down the shower rod and unleashing another beating.

“He was going limp, like unresponsive,” Perkins recounted.

He looked “like he was dead,” his mother testified.

Perkins said hours later she finally sought medical assistance for her son, who, she testified, she instinctively knew was dead.

Former Pro Bowl running back Clinton Portis and other retired NFL players have been charged by a federal grand jury with defrauding the NFL's health care benefits plan for its retirees, according to an indictment unsealed Thursday.

The former NFL players allegedly submitted fraudulent health care claims seeking to be reimbursed for "expensive medical equipment" that was never purchased, court records show.

CNN is reaching out to the NFL and the named players for comment.

According to an indictment unsealed in Kentucky, the former players are accused of submitting claims for equipment such as "hyperbaric oxygen chambers, ultrasound machines designed for use by a doctor's office to conduct women's health examinations, and electromagnetic therapy devices designed for use on horses."

The scheme, which lasted from June 2017 to December 2018, led to over $3.9 million in false and fraudulent claims, of which the plan paid out more than $3.4 million, prosecutors said in a news release.

The defendants "each personally profited" by receiving reimbursements from the plan or by getting kickbacks and bribes paid by participants in exchange for making false and fraudulent claims, the indictment says.

The defendants include:

* Portis, the former Washington Redskins and Denver Broncos running back;
* Robert McCune, a former linebacker with the Redskins;
* John Eubanks, a former cornerback with the Redskins;
* Tamarick Vanover, a former Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver;
* Ceandris "C.C." Brown, a former Houston Texans safety;
* James Butler, a former New York Giants and St. Louis Rams safety;
* Fredrick Bennett, a former Houston Texans defensive back;
* Etric Pruitt, a former defensive back for the Atlanta Falcons and Seattle Seahawks;
* Carlos Rogers, a former Redskins and San Francisco 49ers cornerback;
* Correll Buckhalter, a former Philadelphia Eagles running back.

In addition, the government plans to file criminal information charging Joseph Horn, the former New Orleans Saints wide receiver, and Donald "Reche" Caldwell, the former San Diego Chargers and New England Patriots wide receiver, according to the news release.

More than 20 FBI field offices across the country participated in the investigation, from Miami to New Jersey to Los Angeles, prosecutors said.

Tekashi69's sentencing is coming up on December 18th, and he's doing everything he can to get sympathy.

In a new letter to the judge in the case, the rapper turned government informant, detailed how he disassociated from the Nine Trey Gangsters blood set, was remorseful for his actions while in the gang and that his baby mama, Sara Molina, was getting piped down by one of his associates.

"Prior to my arrest, I was kidnapped by members of the gang, became aware of the fact that the mother of my child was having sexual relations with one of my co-defendants and that they were stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars from me," Tekashi wrote to Manhattan federal court judge Paul Engelmayer on Wednesday.

The 23-year old is facing a mandatory minimum of 47-years behind bars under the terms of his guilty plea, but could be sentenced to as little as time-served due to his cooperation with the government.

Juice WRLD's family is breaking their silence on the death of the 21-year-old rapper, shedding light on his battle with prescription drug abuse and his fight to help others beat their addictions.

In an exclusive statement to TMZ, the late rapper's mom, Carmella Wallace, says, "We loved Jarad with all of our hearts and cannot believe our time with him has been cut short. As he often addressed in his music and to his fans, Jarad battled with prescription drug dependency."

Juice rapped about drugs often, something his family says wasn't to promote using ... but instead to help those battling addiction who may have felt alone in their fight.

His mom continues, "Addiction knows no boundaries and its impact goes way beyond the person fighting it. Jarad was a son, brother, grandson, friend and so much more to so many people who wanted more than anything to see him defeat addiction."

However, his family believes his story can help others moving forward, with the mom telling TMZ, "We hope the conversations he started in his music and his legacy will help others win their battles as that is what he wanted more than anything."

Carmella wraps by thanking Juice's fans, friends and family for their support during the incredibly difficult time, saying, "We know that Jarad's legacy of love, joy and emotional honesty will live on."

TMZ broke the story ... Juice WRLD died after a private flight from L.A. to Chicago Sunday. Law enforcement sources tell us the rapper swallowed several Percocet pills upon landing when he learned federal agents were going to search the plane.

In total, 70 lbs. of marijuana, some codeine and 3 handguns were found on the plane.

Just a few days after apologizing for his recent "inexcusable" behavior and asking the NFL for another chance, Antonio Brown is back on the attack.

The free agent wide receiver took to Twitter on Wednesday to blast the league, the NFL Player's Association and former teammate Ben Roethlisberger.

Brown started off his tirade by accusing the NFL of having a double standard when it comes to black and white players.

Guess all mighty @nfl can hold players out against there will no criminal charges pending nothing but A Caucasian player gets a domestic go to jail still out there playing targeted hate against us everywhere my peeps," Brown wrote.

He then accused the NFLPA of being thieves.

"Let me get my lil bread get out y’all way @NFLPA we know y'all stealing."

Brown later retweeted two people who brought up Ben's sexual assault cases, and called the quarterback a "loser."

If AB really wants to get back in the league he's definitely going about it the wrong way.

An Indiana federal court has stayed the execution sentence of convicted killer Daniel Lewis Lee, his attorney Morris Moon said in a statement to MEA World Wide. This stay will "allow him a reasonable opportunity to determine the legality of his sentence," Moon said.

"The judge found a significant possibility that the Government was aware of, and failed to disclose, evidence undermining a key basis for his death sentence, a sentence which the victims’ family, the trial judge and the lead trial prosecutor vehemently oppose," he said.

"The government is not doing this for me,” Earlene Peterson, whose daughter and granddaughter were killed in the 1999 incident said. She, along with her other family members believe that Lee should be granted clemency as it does not offer relief or closure to them, she said. "I can’t see how executing Danny Lee will honor my daughter in any way," she said in a statement.

Lee had filed for relief from the sentence in September earlier this year, as we had reported. The 46-year-old from Oklahoma, along with Chevie Kehoe, was convicted of slaying a Pope County family in 1999, which included an eight-year-old girl. The two were said to be white supremacists who had wanted to steal guns and money from the family, with ambitions to start a whites-only country in the Pacific Northwest.

They were convicted of the murder of Bill Mueller, 53; Nancy Mueller, 28; and Sarah Powell, 8, among other charges. Prosecutors from the U.S. Department of Justice had said that Lee along with Kehoe had first shot the three with a stun gun, covered their heads with plastic bags, and sealed them with duct tape. He then threw the weighted bodies into the Illinois Bayou. While Lee was given the death penalty, Kehoe was given a life sentence. Prosecutors believed that Kehoe had been the leader of the group and Lee was not the ring leader. A psychological evaluation said Lee was a psychopath and a danger to others.

Moon had said at the time that the death sentence was unconstitutional and that it had been a result of "junk science" that had dubbed him a "dangerous psychopath". "That junk science was not the only false evidence the government used to secure a death sentence. It also misled the jury into believing that Mr. Lee had committed a prior murder as a juvenile," he had said in a statement to MEAWW.
