London (CNN) A woman fell out of a car and onto a busy highway while hanging out of the passenger window to film a Snapchat video, police in the UK have said.
The unnamed woman was dangling out of the vehicle on the M25 motorway south of London, Surrey Police wrote on Twitter.
"It is only by luck she wasn't seriously injured or killed," they said. They posted a picture of the open passenger window, alongside the hashtag #nowords.
Asked by a user if officers explained the dangers of the attempt to the woman, the police replied: "Every chance they worked it out before we spoke to them about it!"
Some 259 people worldwide died while taking selfies between 2011 and 2017, according to a study published in the Journal of Family Medicine and Primary Care.
Researchers found that the most selfie deaths occurred in India, followed by Russia, the US and Pakistan. Most of the victims were men (about 72%) and under the age of 30.
Last year, four members of the same family drowned at a dam in India after slipping into the water while trying to take a selfie.

A plastic crown worn by the Notorious B.I.G. during his last portrait session before he was killed sold in an auction for nearly $600,000 on Tuesday.
The item features a signature from the rapper, whose real name was Christopher Wallace, dated three days before he was shot and killed in Los Angeles on March 9, 1997. The item was estimated to be worth $200,000 to $300,000.
The crown was part of Sotheby’s live auction celebrating the history and cultural impact of Hip Hop. The action featured more than 120 hip-hop-related lots including love letters written by Tupac Shakur at the age of 15-17 to a high school sweetheart. The letters sold for $75,600.
One-time friends, who became rivals in a hype-fueled war between the East and West Coast rap scenes, Shakur and the Notorious B.I.G. — also known as Biggie Smalls — were gunned down within months of each other. Both crimes remain unsolved to this day.
The crown has been in photographer Barron Claiborne's possession since he photographed Biggie for the cover of Rap Pages magazine. Claiborne had provided the prop, which he reportedly bought for $6 at the time, hoping to portray Biggie as the king of New York.
"After 23 years in my possession, I’m very excited to share this iconic piece of Hip Hop history with the public," Claiborne said in a statement. "With the tragic events that unfolded just days after the photoshoot, this image of a crowned Notorious B.I.G. became much more than a portrait – the image transformed Biggie Smalls into an aristocratic or saint like figure, forever immortalized as not only the King of New York, but a king of Hip Hop music and one of the greatest artists of all time."
Sean “Diddy” Combs, owner of Biggie’s label Bad Boy Entertainment, was with the rapper during the photo shoot.
Cassandra Hatton, the Sotheby’s senior specialist who organized the sale, instantly thought of including the Biggie crown when the auction planning began.
“I've seen the crown. Everybody's seen the crown. It's so famous. It's so iconic. When I was first thinking of doing this sale, I thought, ‘Wouldn’t it be great to track that crown down?'” Hatton said. "I've sold all sorts of wild things. But this is a little different."

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — A suburban Dallas police officer who shot and killed a woman last year while firing at a dog was charged Wednesday with criminally negligent homicide, prosecutors said.
A grand jury indicted Ravinder Singh in the August 2019 death of 30-year-old Margarita Brooks, the Tarrant County district attorney’s office said. At the time of the shooting, Singh was a rookie officer in the Dallas suburb of Arlington. He was placed on administrative leave after the shooting and resigned three months later.
Singh was booked Wednesday into the Tarrant County Jail in Fort Worth. He was held without bond pending an appearance before a magistrate.
If convicted, Singh could be sentenced to as much as two years in jail and a fine of up to $10,000.
Singh’s attorney didn’t immediately reply to a message seeking comment.
Brooks’ family was part of a group that met with President Donald Trump at the White House in June ahead of his signing of an executive order that he said would encourage better police practices. Attorney S. Lee Merritt said Trump told the families there would be federal reviews of their cases, but it’s unclear whether that has happened in Brooks’ case.
The officer and other emergency workers had been sent to check on Brooks because she appeared to be passed out in a grassy area behind a shopping plaza.
Footage from Singh’s body camera showed him walking along a sidewalk and calling out, “Hello. Are you OK?”
The woman replies, “Yeah, I’m fine.” A dog approaches and the officer asks, “Is that your dog?”
As the dog runs toward him, the officer yells, “Get back!” He begins to back up and then fires three shots. The woman screams, “Oh, my God!” and continues to cry out.
People who live or work in the area said they often saw Brooks walking with her boyfriend and a dog, and that the couple appeared to be homeless.
Singh graduated from the police academy in February 2019 and had only been released from supervised duty a month before the shooting, authorities said.
The dog, a Labrador mix that police said weighed about 40 pounds, survived.

Ty Lawson, a former first-round NBA draft pick and current free agent, is banned for life from the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) after posting inappropriate photos on his Instagram story, according to Emiliano Carchia of Sportando.
Lawson, 32, posted multiple things to his story on Friday that triggered an angry response from the public. He used a slang term and was criticized for insulting Chinese women. A later photo was showed him with a woman.
The Fujian Sturgeons, his most recent team, gave a statement to Chinese news agency Xinhua:
“His inappropriate words are inconsistent with the social responsibilities and values abided by our club and have brought serious adverse social impacts to the club and the league. We will not sign him for the new season.”
Lawson, a 5-foot-11 guard, has played in the CBA for the past two seasons, first with the Shandong Heroes in 2017. He was transferred in 2019 and his contract ran out at the end of the season in August. The Sturgeons had the priority to extend the contract.
The issue may be alcohol-related, SI.com reported. Lawson was arrested four times for driving while intoxicated, the last of which occurred July 2015 in Los Angeles. He entered a private alcohol treatment program on a court order.
Lawson was the No. 18 pick by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the 2009 draft. He was immediately traded to the Denver Nuggets, where he spent the first six seasons of his eight-year NBA career. His last full season was in 2016-17 with the Sacramento Kings after stops with the Houston Rockets and Indiana Pacers. In 2017 he reportedly violated his probation by failing three court-ordered sobriety tests.
The Washington Wizards signed him in 2018 and he played in five playoff games, averaging 5.8 points and 3.0 assists in 19.2 minutes per game.
The point guard averaged 12.7 points and 6.0 assists over his NBA career.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) — Gunfire at a backyard party killed two people and wounded 14 others early Saturday in Rochester, New York, a city that has been roiled in recent weeks by outrage over the suffocation death of Daniel Prude.
As many as 100 people were at the gathering when the shooting started just before 12:30 a.m., Acting Police Chief Mark Simmons told reporters.
Police were still trying to piece together who opened fire and why. Simmons said it was too early to say whether more than one person was shooting or whom the intended targets may have been.
A man and woman, estimated to be in their late teens or early 20s, were killed, Simmons said. Their names weren’t immediately released. The 14 wounded by gunfire were not believed to have life-threatening injuries.
The acting chief said no suspects were in custody.
“This is truly a tragedy of epic proportions,” Simmons said in a news conference held near the home. “I mean 16 victims is unheard of, and for our community, who’s right now going through so much, to have to be dealt with this tragedy, needlessly, for people who decide to act in a violent manner is unfortunate and shameful, and we’re going to do everything that we can as a department to bring those people involved to justice.”
The shooting comes as the city in Western New York has been rocked by days of protests over Prude’s death, caused when Rochester police officers put a hood over his head to stop him from spitting, then pushed his face into the pavement and held him down until he stopped breathing.
On Monday, the city’s mayor fired Police Chief La’Ron Singletary, who she said initially misled her about the circumstances of the March death. Other senior police officials announced they would retire or leave top command positions.
The acting police chief, Simmons, expressed frustration early Saturday that someone had held a large, late-night party amid that tumult, apparently in defiance of a state ban on large gatherings because of the coronavirus pandemic.
“This is yet another tragedy where individuals are having these illegal, unsanctioned house parties taking place in these properties, which — number one — is not safe because of COVID, because of the conditions,” Simmons said. “And then you add in alcohol and violence and it just becomes a recipe for disaster.”
Officers responding to calls of shots fired found “approximately 100 people” running from the scene, Simmons said. Before the call, police were not aware of the party and had received no complaints about noise, he said.
The wounded were being treated at local hospitals. Two more people were hurt while fleeing, the Major Crimes Unit said in a tweet. Despite the lack of arrests, Simmons said there was no reason to believe the neighborhood was unsafe.
Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren issued a statement asking for “prayers and support for all involved.”
“I’m begging everyone to remain calm and exercise deep restraint as RPD investigates what happened here and seeks those responsible,” she said.

The Dallas Independent School District apologized for an assignment that asked high school students to write an essay about a "hero for the modern age," & choose someone from a list that includes Kyle Rittenhouse, the 17-year-old Antioch teen accused of killing two people during racial justice protests in Kenosha.
Rittenhouse was suggested as a "hero for the modern age" along with the possible subjects of Gandhi, Cesar Chavez, Malcolm X, George Floyd & Joseph Rosenbaum — one of Rittenhouse's alleged victims.
Rittenhouse was charged with two counts of first-degree intentional homicide for the shooting deaths of Rosenbaum & Anthony Huber during protests on Aug. 25 following the shooting of Jacob Blake by police.
The assignment asked students to write at least a half-page biography of six people. Then pick one that best demonstrates the student’s concept of a hero.
The school district said the assignment was not approved & taken down by administrators after it was posted to Google Classroom on Tuesday.
Kristian Hernandez told NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth that her younger brother, a senior at W.T. White High School, shared a screengrab of the assignment with her family.
“My brother was really in disbelief that this was actually an assignment he was getting,” she stated. Hernandez said she reached out to her brother’s principal with her concerns.
"The juxtaposition of George Floyd's name with Kyle's name was just astounding," she said. “The value of Black lives are not up for debate & that’s what it felt like this was sort of getting at — by way of the names that were included."
DISD said the teacher has been with the district for approximately three years. In a statement, the district apologized & said the content was not part of approved lesson plans.
“An unapproved assignment posted in Google Classroom yesterday has been brought to our attention. Understandably, this caused some concern for the impacted students, and we apologize. Campus administration immediately removed the unapproved content and students are not required to complete that assignment. Due to personnel policies, we are not able to comment further, however, the appropriate steps are being followed pending investigation."

Delivering his sharp witted vocals over the spine-chilling beat from UK production team Dedw8, Conway the Machine reinforces his firm and fearsome reputation on this new single 'Clean the Whole Room Out.'
Serving as both a warning shot and statement of intent, Conway's unmistakable delivery and gritty content in CTWRO reinforces the formidable reputation which he's built over the past 15 years.
The energy and mood from the beat sit firmly within the 'horror scope' soundscape, leaving Conway's devious lifestyle rap with a bass-heavy foundation to bubble in the pot.
Speaking on the sound, Baileys Brown said "We have cultivated the Dedw8 sound over the past five years. Over one album, two EPs and various singles on some of the best underground labels in the world, we are in essence experimental mood music."
Perhaps this is how they managed to snag not just one 16-bar verse, but a full song out of one-third of the most feared rap trio in the game.
Alongside Westside Gunn and Benny the Butcher, Conway the Machine makes up Griselda. The Buffalo, New York record label and lifestyle brand are more than just 'hottest in the hood', rolling in the circles of JAY-Z and Eminem. In 2017, Conway signed to Eminem's Shady Records, with Marshall Mathers himself stating “The style and energy of Griselda Records, Gunn and Conway are infectious".
Describing how the collaboration came about, Baileys explained "We have been fans for a few years and we hit him up on Instagram, wishing on a star. He came back to us and the rest is history..."
