Eight minority correctional officers at a Minnesota county jail filed a racial discrimination lawsuit claiming they were barred from guarding the former Minneapolis police officer charged in George Floyd's death.

The suit, filed Tuesday in state district court, alleges that a superintendent at the Ramsey County Adult Detention Center, or ADC, in St. Paul reassigned officers of color to another floor when the former officer, Derek Chauvin, was arrested on murder charges in May.

The suit says the officers — who identify as African American, Hispanic, Pacific Islander & mixed-race — were "segregated & prevented from doing their jobs by defendant solely because of the color of their skin."

The officers also claim that Chauvin received special treatment from a white lieutenant.

"When Officer Chauvin arrived, they were prepared to do the jobs they had done every single day up to that point, until, that is, Superintendent Lydon's order prevented them from doing so," the officers' attorney, Lucas Kaster, said at a news conference Tuesday, referring to jail Supt. Steve Lydon.

“Segregation has no place in society or the workplace & on May 29, 2020, eight Ramsey County correctional officers experienced blatant discrimination based on their race and skin color,” said Lucas Kaster, an attorney for the guards. “Ramsey County’s segregation order caused immediate & lasting harm to the correctional officers & the jail environment.”

The guards allege Ramsey County violated the Minnesota Human Rights Act by discriminating against them because of their race & by creating a hostile work environment. The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages, including damages arising from loss of past & future income & benefits & damages for mental anguish & suffering. Some of the guards went on leave & missed pay due to the discrimination, & one no longer works as a guard, the lawsuit says.

Chauvin is now out on bail & scheduled to go to trial in March.

Valerie Cincinelli, the NYPD cop charged with paying her boyfriend to kill her estranged husband, has hammered out a plea deal with federal prosecutors, it was revealed Friday.

“It’s the government’s understanding from conversations with defense counsel that we have reached an agreement for a plea in this matter,” Assistant US Attorney Catherine Mirabile said in a hearing in Central Islip federal court of the deal struck with the suspended officer.

The details of the agreement were not disclosed.

Cincinelli is charged with two counts of murder-for-hire & one count of obstruction. She faces a maximum of 10 years in prison on the top count.

Defense lawyer James Kousouros said Cincinelli, who is locked up at the Metropolitan Detention Center, had signed the plea agreement. Due to COVID-19 restriction, Kousouros has been unable to meet with his client in-person.

Cincinelli is scheduled to formally take the plea in court Feb. 12 at 9 a.m.

She is accused of paying boyfriend John DiRubba $7,000 to hire a hit man in 2019 to assassinate her estranged husband, Isaiah Carvalho Jr., & DiRubba’s own 15-year-old daughter.

After DiRubba was busted for another crime, he confessed to the bizarre murder-for-hire plot and began working as a confidential source for the FBI, wearing a wire to capture Cincinelli’s damning admissions.

He told authorities that his cop-girlfriend wanted her hubby dead amid a bitter divorce & custody battle over their son. Cincinelli also has a daughter from a prior marriage.

A source told The Post that Cincinelli allegedly wanted DiRubba’s daughter bumped off because “she was getting in the way” of their twisted plan.

BATON ROUGE - A Baton Rouge rapper with a lengthy arrest record is once again under investigation, this time by federal authorities.

On Tuesday (Feb. 9), District Attorney Hillar Moore confirmed to WBRZ that Kentrell DeSean Gaulden, who is also known as 'NBA Youngboy,' is under investigation for his alleged connection to a September 2020 music video that was filmed in Baton Rouge & led to the arrests of 16 individuals (including Gaulden) on drug and weapons charges.

The District Attorney said federal authorities are looking into the case.

As a convicted felon, federal & state laws prohibit Gaulden from being in possession of a firearm.

An attorney for the 21-year-old Baton Rouge rapper recently requested that Gaulden be released from his bond supervision as more than four months have passed since his arrest & formal charges have yet to be filed by the East Baton Rouge District Attorney's Office.

"The Office of the District Attorney has returned Mr. Gaulden's seized property & there is no indication that the State intends to file a Bill of Information against Mr. Gaulden," lawyer James Manasseh states in the motion.

District Attorney Moore said the matter is still being reviewed by his office & by the U.S. Attorney's Office.

The rapper's attorney continues to argue that Gaulden did nothing illegal during the September incident.

A judge did order the return of certain items that had been taken from the rapper during the arrest.

State District Judge Tiffany Foxworth ordered the Baton Rouge Police Department to return to Gaulden over $40,000 in cash, a $300,000 cashier's check, two diamond necklaces & a diamond ring that were seized during the arrest.

At this time, Gaulden is not behind bars, as he was freed on a $75,000 bond, & the rapper's attorney confirmed that he lives out of state where he continues to work on his musical career.

Gunman Gregory Paul Ulrich, 67, allegedly opened fire inside Allina Health Clinic in Buffalo, Minn., on Tuesday, critically injuring five and causing the evacuation of nearby schools. At a press conference, police said Ulrich, 67, of Buffalo, has had contact with officers since 2003, & is "no stranger to law enforcement."

Ulrich had been staying at the Super 8 Motel in the area where multiple suspicious devices was found, police said. Investigators believe he was acting alone.

At least five people were critically injured & the gunman was reportedly taken into custody. Up to 15 people total were possibly injured, per reports.

Schools in Buffalo were locked down during the incident & the two closest schools, Tatanka Elementary STEM School & PRIDE Transitions, were evacuated to Buffalo High School.

"The district acted quickly with the help of the Buffalo Police Department and Wright County Sheriff's Department to make sure that our students are safe & secure," school officials said in a release. "Our thoughts go out to those directly involved with the situation."

Another day, another back and forth battle in public between the former pupil & coach duo of Deontay Wilder & Mark Breland.

Over the weekend, Breland shot down accusations that he was disloyal to Wilder during the fighter’s one-sided drubbing to Tyson Fury last February, going as far as even saying that Wilder lacked discipline during training & that the fighter’s career was all but over.

Wilder (42-1-1, 41 KOs) fired Breland in October & alleged that his former co-trainer spiked his water before he threw in the towel to end the fight. It was one of the many eye-opening claims Wilder made following his first career loss, including that Fury’s gloves were compromised & that his ring walk attire zapped the life out of his legs.

“Where is it all coming from?" Wilder said. "Is it because where I was in life and your career was short? It could be a jealousy thing.”

Breland responded on social media Monday with another statement.

“My time in the coach position with the Bronze Bomber changed drastically in the 12 years since I started with him,” Breland said. “So [co-trainer] Jay Deas was seen as the head trainer, but I was the only one on the team with a boxing resume & I was the only trainer. This was okay with me because of my humility.

“After Deontay became a name in boxing, new members joined the team & it got to the point where I didn’t even have my fighter’s phone number. I haven't spoken to Deontay alone in years. The things that I told Deontay to do had to be run past Jay.

"Deontay had become untrainable because he was at the point of, he knows more about boxing than all of us. So teaching a correct jab was not a priority to learn once he continued on his knockout streak … so a coach can only teach someone if they're willing to learn."

"Lastly, at that fight just as many others we had no cutman because Deontay won't need it. So I'm not a doctor but I know blood coming out of your ears & dazed eyes could be a brain issue & power comes from your legs & his legs were gone.

"So I made a decision to stop the fight & I'd do it all again!"

Video After The Jump

A driver survived when his pickup truck plunged about 70 feet off a slippery interchange exit ramp in Wisconsin.

A Wisconsin Department of Transportation camera captured the Milwaukee-area crash. The video shows the pickup hitting snow on the right shoulder before flipping over the barrier wall and plummeting to Interstate 94 below as cars pass by.

When deputies arrived, they found the pickup upright in the right shoulder of the westbound I-94 lanes, the sheriff’s office said. Two people were already trying to help the driver, who was conscious and breathing.

The man was taken to a hospital to be evaluated, sheriff's officials said.

Offset seems to have misplaced not just the keys to a new car, but the whole damn ride itself -- at least that's what a car company's claiming in court.

Platinum Transportation Group -- an L.A.-based luxury rental service -- is suing the Migos rapper over what it says is the shady disappearance of one of their new Bentleys he rented in the Spring of 2020 ... which they say somehow went missing when it was time to turn it back in.

According to the docs, obtained by TMZ, PTG claims it drew up a contract with Offset in May, recognizing him as a repeat customer of theirs. At first, Platinum says the deal was to rent their new 2020 Bentley Bentayga for a couple days at a rate of just less than $600 a day.

They claim that initial rental period kept on getting pushed out by Offset ... and a new deal was allegedly made to have him hold onto the whip 'til late July.

Anyway, right after the 4th ... Platinum claims Offset told them he didn't have the car in his possession, didn't know who had the car last, or where the hell it was. It had vanished -- or at least that's what Platinum is claiming he told them, with no rational explanation.

They also claim Offset stopped making payments on the car after his lease was up on July 25, despite the fact he had failed to return the car. Platinum says he's refused to pay a penny more.

In the lawsuit, Platinum says it filed a police report, but we haven't been able to track down that report.

The company's looking for major damages -- claiming it's out more than $100k in missed revenue from not being able to rent the Bentley.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — U.S. safety investigators said Tuesday the pilot of Kobe Bryant’s helicopter flew through the clouds last year in an apparent violation of federal standards, & likely became disoriented just before the helicopter crashed & killed Bryant & eight others.

Robert Sumwalt, chairman of the National Transportation Safety Board, said that pilot Ara Zobayan was flying under visual flight rules, which meant that he needed to be able to see where he was going.

Zobayan piloted the aircraft to climb sharply & had nearly broken through the clouds when the Sikorsky S-76 helicopter banked abruptly & plunged into the Southern California hills below, killing all aboard.

The revelation during a hearing to announce the probable cause or causes of the crash followed plenty of finger-pointing.

Bryant’s widow blamed the pilot. She & relatives of the other victims also faulted the companies that owned & operated the helicopter.

The federal hearing focused on the long-awaited probable cause or causes of the tragedy that unleashed worldwide grief for the retired basketball star, launched several lawsuits & prompted state & federal legislation.

“I think the whole world is watching because it’s Kobe,” said Ed Coleman, an Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University professor & aircraft safety science expert.

Bryant, his 13-year-old daughter, Gianna, & six other passengers were flying from Orange County to a youth basketball tournament at his Mamba Sports Academy in Ventura County on Jan. 26, 2020, when the helicopter encountered thick fog in the San Fernando Valley north of Los Angeles.

YFN Lucci is back on the outside after being arrested for murder -- but a judge is imposing limitations to keep him from booking it outta town, or hurting anyone.

Photos & video emerged Monday of the Atlanta rapper getting sprung from jail -- where he'd been in custody since turning himself in last month. He seems happy to be free, for now, but he had to drop a bundle ... a $500k bond to get released.

Once the money was posted, a jail rep says Lucci was cut loose around 4 PM ET -- & he left with a long list of rules he must abide by until his next hearing.

For starters, he has to surrender his passport and wear an ankle monitor while living in an undisclosed location & he needs to be at that place between 7 PM & 7 AM.

Outside of those hours, the only thing he can do is meet up with legal counsel for his case, take care of medical appointments & see his kids.

Lucci's also not allowed to have contact with any alleged victims, witnesses or co-defendants in the case ... nor can he associate with any known gang members or convicted felons. He can't even post on social media, although his pals made sure to get video of his release on the Internet.

Lucci's attorney, Drew Findling, tells us, "The bond was negotiated last week & finalized today. He was released just before 4 pm. There are a variety of conditions which is somewhat consistent with these cases, which included surrendering his passport."

One last thing ... the court's barred him from visiting a specific recording studio in downtown Atlanta.

Teofimo Lopez looked ahead to his 2021 schedule to namecheck Devin Haney as just one of his planned opponents for the year.

After starting off as the underdog ahead of his fight with Vasyl Lomachenko in 2020, Lopez is now the pre-eminent fighter in his division. The American fighter has already noticed a change in those around him.

“I get that respect. People tell me I'm a bad man,” he said in an interview with ESPN.

With Devin Haney, Ryan Garcia & Gervonta "Tank" Davis, there is no shortage of young talent in the lightweight division, & Lopez is keen to make serious fights rather than avoid the main contenders.

“You got to take risks,” he explained.

“If you believe in yourself, you got to go for it. And look what happened: I became undisputed world champ at 23 years old; that motivated & pushed all the other fighters in that new generation. We're paving the way: The 0 & that stuff doesn't matter; it's all about making fights for the fans.”

Asked for his plans for the year, the 23-year-old champion listed the big names as his targets.

“Devin Haney first. Then Garcia or Tank, probably at 140,” he began.

“And Josh Taylor-Jose Ramirez winner at 140. The winner of that fight becomes undisputed at that weight division, and I'm trying to go back-to-back [being undisputed] at 135 and 140. It's never been done before, & that's what I love. I love doing things that have never been done before.”

Despite planning Haney as his next fight, Lopez acknowledged that he would honor the mandatory challenge from the IBF nominee George Kambosos Jr.
