A Florida man was left with his scalp hanging off after paying $150 for a "full contact experience" with a black leopard.

Dwight Turner is suing "real estate investment expert and exotic animal breeder" Michael Poggi after claiming he was mauled inside an enclosure built behind his home.

According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission the attack occurred on August 31.

In its report, they say the 50-year-old was charged the sum to enter the fully-grown feline's enclosure and "play with it, rub its belly and take pictures."

But as soon as he entered, the animal attacked.

The cat went straight for the victim's head, biting his skull; the report states his scalp was left "hanging from his head and his right ear was torn in half."

Turner was hospitalized for a week and required multiple surgeries, his attorney said.

Authorities told the site Poggi was charged with allowing full contact with an extremely dangerous animal, and was cited for maintaining captive wildlife in an unsafe condition.

They said that while Poggi admitted to the charges, he is licensed to have the animal.

Turner's attorney insisted that the entire experience was illegal, thus rendering any waivers signed null and void.

NEW YORK (AP) — Walmart says it has removed ammunition and firearms from displays at its U.S. stores, citing “civil unrest” in some areas.

The nation’s largest retailer, based in Bentonville, Arkansas, sells firearms in about half of its 4,700 stores.

“We have seen some isolated civil unrest and as we have done on several occasions over the last few years, we have moved our firearms and ammunition off the sales floor as a precaution for the safety of our associates and customers,” Walmart said in a statement emailed to The Associated Press on Thursday.

The discounter said the items remain available for purchase by customers.

The move comes after several days of protests, widespread vandalism and an overnight curfew in Philadelphia before Election Day after police fatally shot a Black man with a history of mental health problems.

Walmart made a a similar move in the wake of the police killing of George Floyd that set off sometimes violent demonstrations against police brutality and injustice against African Americans.

Last year, Walmart stopped selling handgun and short-barrel rifle ammunition while requesting that customers not openly carry firearms in its stores, even where state laws allow it. The company also ended the sale of handguns in Alaska, the only state where the discounter sold them.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Louisville Metro Police officer who was shot by Kenneth Walker the night of the deadly raid on Breonna Taylor's apartment in March is now suing Walker.

Sgt. Jonathan Mattingly said the shooting was "outrageous, intolerable and offends all accepted standards of decency or morality."

Walker's shot struck the femoral artery in Mattingly's upper thigh and Mattingly required surgery for the injury.

In a statement to WHAS11, Mattingly’s attorney Kent Wicker said, “Sgt. Mattingly was shot and nearly killed by Kenneth Walker. He's entitled to, and should, use the legal process to seek a remedy for the injury that Walker has caused him.”

The lawsuit says Walker intentionally shot Mattingly and acted recklessly in firing his pistol in the direction of the police officers who were serving a warrant.

Walker claims he fired in self-defense and did not know who was coming into the apartment. He was initially charged in the shooting, but those charges were dismissed in May.

Attorney Steve Romines, who represents Walker, told WHAS11, "One would think that breaking into the apartment, executing his girlfriend and framing him for a crime in an effort to cover up her murder, would be enough for them."

RICHMOND — Saleem Bligen, the rapper who gained national notoriety in the mid-2000s for his success on televised battle rap contests, has accepted a plea deal and a three-year prison term to settle a pimping and human trafficking case in Contra Costa County, court records show.

Bligen, who raps under the moniker Serius Jones, pleaded guilty to pimping, dissuading a witness — a strike offense under California law — assault and other related charges. In exchange, prosecutors dropped human trafficking charges against him.

The three-year prison term is eligible for a 50 percent reduction, meaning that with good behavior Bligen will be eligible for release around June 2021. He also must pay $6,000 in restitution and was hit with a 10-year stay away order from the woman who identified him to police as her pimp, prosecutors said.

The Contra Costa District Attorney’s office declined to comment on the plea deal. At the start of the case, Bligen was facing decades in state prison if convicted of all charges.

In an audio recording posted to his Instagram account, Bligen — speaking over a jail phone — apologized to his fans. He also denied the bulk of the allegations against him, saying that police had built a case against him “based on the words of a drug addict.”

“I would never force a woman to do anything against her will. That’s not what I was raised as,” Bligen said on the recording. He later adds, “I’m sorry to my fans, I’m sorry to those who look at this like a disappointment. No one’s more disappointed than me.”

Prosecutors alleged that Bligen assaulted a woman in Walnut Creek and stole a 2007 Lexus from her when she tried to break away from him. The woman later told police she was “working” for Bligen as a prostitute while he traveled between New Jersey, New York, and California, and that she had been a sex worker prior to meeting him.

A Canadian judge has released video of a police officer slamming a woman in handcuffs face-first onto the concrete floor, resulting in serious injuries ... and now he's on trial for it.

Constable Alex Dunn is charged with assault causing bodily harm for a December 2017 incident with Dalia Kafi, who he had arrested for breaking a court-ordered curfew.

As you can see in the surveillance footage ... Dunn walks Kafi, already in handcuffs, into the police station for a booking photo ... but then it appears he attempts to take off a head scarf she's wearing.

Kafi flinches and leans away, and after a few seconds of struggling to remove her scarf, Dunn violently flips her forward ... slamming her face and head on the hard floor. Blood can be seen immediately dripping from her face onto the floor.

Staff Sgt. Gordon Macdonald, who witnessed the incident and tended to Kafi afterward, referred to Dunn's move as a "judo-style throw" ... and called it "the worst use of force" he had ever seen during his testimony this week in Dunn's case.

Macdonald testified, "There's only one type of sound when somebody's bone hits the floor and that's what I heard." Kafi was taken to the hospital and needed surgery for a broken nose and stitches in her lip.

Dunn was reportedly suspended with pay for a year after he was charged for the incident, but has been brought back in an administrative role with the Calgary Police Service.

CPS says it is awaiting the outcome of his trial to determine if there will take any additional action. However, they also tell us ... "Police officers are trained to deescalate conflict and to use the least amount of force necessary to safely resolve a situation. We expect them to follow the law, our policies and our training."
