Nicki Minaj has been causing quite a stir since her arrival in London last week.

The "Roman's Revenge" rapper was mobbed by fans at Heathrow Airport after her plane touched down, she was kicked out of the luxurious Dorchester Hotel after fans wrote graffiti on the walls inside the hotel, and she had to cancel a concert at the Runway on Thursday after a fight broke out.

Still, it has to be considered a successful trip so far for the Young Money star, who held a "Nicki Minaj Pink Oceana Party" at Watford's Oceana nightclub on Thursday (January 20). She has been dubbed the "Queen Of Hip Hop" by the UK press, and obviously has a rabid fan base there.

In an interview with 1 Xtra's Trevor Nelsen, Nicki talks about the enormous pressure she's had to face.

"That's what people don't understand... They don't understand what it's like to have that much pressure," Nicki says.  "I'm a new artist and I'm already on the bottom of the totem pole because I'm a female.rapper. We barely even have our own category at awards shows. Then I get to go and produce something knowing people are waiting to critique it. And they are comparing my album to people that have been out forever. Kanye's 4 or 5 albums deep which is interesting because the sales in the states are neck and neck."

Nicki's promo tour in the UK continues for the next several days. She heads to Paris, France, then comes back to the states for an appearance on Saturday Night Live.

Whatever this guy did to piss off his homies I'm sure he regrets it now.

Looks like a whole classroom of kids let loose on one dude, pummeling him with fists and chairs.

Where the hell are the teachers?

When it was first announced that Kim Kardashian was working with producer The-Dream on some new music, everyone wondered what made Kim decide to pursue a singing career.

During a recent conversation with MTV, Kim shed some light on the inspiration behind "Turn It Up.".

"Basically, Ciara came to me and was like, 'You gotta meet The-Dream', and I had a meeting with him," Kim said "I was not into doing a song -- I thought,'everyone kind of tries that and it doesn't work out so well.'" So I talked to a few of my friends, Kanye [West] and a few of my other musical friends. They gave me good advice. [They said] "come have fun with us, don't think too much about it.'"

Initially it was thought Kim would be recording a whole cd, but for now that's not the case. The song was actually recorded for the new "Kourtney and Kim Take New York" reality show.

"There's no album in the works or anything, it's just one song that we did for the show... A video that Hype Williams directed and half of the proceeds we're giving away to a cancer foundation because The-Dream and one of my parents passed away from cancer. So it's all just having fun." Kim said.

In addition to advising Kim on her fledgeling music career, Yeezy is expected to make an appearance in the video.

No word yet on will it will premier.

12348757853?profile=originalWhen his $8 million mansion was featured in the centre pages of a glossy lifestyle magazine, it was dubbed a ‘dream home fit for a pop star.

The proud owner, Paul Yearsley, was eager to show off his ‘Georgian-style’ mansion, complete with a state-of-the-art home cinema, huge swimming pool, sauna, gym and a brand-new Range Rover sitting on the drive alongside a Bentley Continental.

But while he claimed to have made his fortune selling homes to Premier League footballers, in reality Yearsley was a drug baron whose only legitimate income was a council disability pension, thought to amount to a few hundred pounds a month.

Now the 44-year-old faces jail after admitting supplying cannabis worth $448,000. He is due to be sentenced at Manchester Crown Court today.

The married father of four was caught only after officers from the Serious Organised Crime Agency (Soca) became suspicious about his lavish lifestyle in relation to his meagre official income.

He had worked for Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council as a recreation supervisor at a swimming pool until 1993 when he was pensioned off at the age of 28 because of health issues.

Sixteen years later, Yearsley had built up a multi-million-pound property portfolio, including 80 homes around Manchester as well as a villa in the Costa del Sol.

After building his own stately mansion in the footballer’s belt of Heaton in Bolton, which he named Knowsley Manor, the drug lord also developed another mansion in the grounds, which he sold on for $2.9million, and a third development of a $1 million house was planned on the same site.

12348757893?profile=originalCannabliss: Crime squad officers spotted that Knowsley Manor appeared rather grand for someone getting by on just a disability payment.

But Yearsley couldn’t resist the temptation to flaunt his wealth and in August 2009, he and his wife Carol, 45, who formerly worked in merchandising with The Disney Store, invited Lancashire Magazine, a local homes and lifestyle glossy publication, to see their seven-bedroom home.

It received a glowing write-up, with the magazine gushing about ‘roomfuls of wow factor’, detailing the marble floors throughout, the bespoke marble kitchen, imposing curved double staircase and oversized mirrors in every room that transformed into giant TV screens.

‘Perhaps it is at the very bottom of this house that the ultimate feeling of dream living is crystallised,’ it added, describing the swimming pool, bar lounge, steam room and showers, gym and cinema.

Yearsley told Lancashire Magazine that he made his millions first as a car salesman then through his property company, Premier Properties Ltd. But Soca officers, who had been watching him for a year, knew differently.

They followed him to a retail park in Bolton where he met drug-runners Frederick Hoyle and Tony Dixon to oversee the handover of 120 kilos of cannabis resin packed in four bales which had been smuggled into the country from North Africa. When Yearsley was arrested on December 18, 2009, his wife and daughters had their bags packed to jet off to a luxury ski resort.

In October last year he pleaded guilty at Manchester Crown Court, admitting he had responsibility for arranging delivery and storage of the drugs. He is due to be sentenced today along with Hoyle, 60, of Chelmsford and Dixon, 38, of Horwich, Bolton, who also pleaded guilty to conspiracy to supply cannabis resin.

Steve Baldwin, head of investigations in the North West for Soca, said: ‘Paul Yearsley was a man whose lifestyle on paper and in reality simply didn’t match. Unfortunately for Yearsley he couldn’t resist splashing out on luxury houses and cars. Soca will now be investigating his assets, and if we can prove they are the proceeds of crime we will do everything we can to take them off him.’

As people try to make sense of why Jared Loughner went on a shooting rampage January 8, killing 6 and injuring 14, including congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, some have suggested that his use of the drug salvia may be to blame.

"He would say he was using it and he would talk about it and say what [it] would do to him and I was like, 'Dude that's screwed up,'" ax friend Jared Osler told ABC News.

While people that use the drug generally experience a high that usually only lasts 1-30 minutes, there are reports of severe mental breakdown caused by salvia.

Peter Przekop, an assistant professor of psychiatry at the Loma Linda University School of Medicine in California told the San Francisco Sentinal about a case he was involved in.

We had a case of a male who came in, 23 years old, and was actively psychotic. The only thing we could attach it to was the night before, he had smoked the XXX [high-strength] salvia." Przekop said "We stabilized him, put him on medication, transferred him to the psych department. When we tried to gradually wean him off antipsychotics, the symptoms returned. This was permanent psychosis we suspect was brought on by this drug.

We posted a blog here several days ago that shows a guy trying salvia for the first time. He seemed to lose all sense of reality.

It’s one of the most behaviorally impairing drugs that we’ve come across,” says Matthew Johnson, assistant professor of psychology at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. “At the higher doses, people are completely dissociated from this reality… They describe being completely transported to another dimension.”

Danial Sebert, a pharmaceutical expert who grows, sells and uses the herb says it can be a "scary" experience, but when used properly the drug will give you insight.

"It's beneficial as a tool for introspection," Sebert says. "Sometimes I've taken salvia when I've had a difficult life situation dealing with a relationship problem, where I was uncertain what to do. And I've taken salvia and suddenly it's just like totally clear like why didn't I see this before?"

While people like Sebert may find salvia to be a helpful tool to help figure out life's problem's, it's possible it may have lead one man to murder 6 innocent people.

"The salvia did have a huge play in his mental psyche and the things that he thought, the side effect, the long term effects." says Osler

12348752482?profile=originalKeyshia Cole is shaking things up within her inner circle, hoping to give her career a boost.

The 29-year old singer has fired her longtime manager, Manny Halley. The move, though unexpected possibly stems from the poor performance of her latest cd "Calling All Hearts", which has moved 139,000 copies in it's first four weeks compared to her last album "A Different Me", which moved 539,000 copies during the same time span.

Cole informed her fans on the news via Twitter.

"Would like for u guys to know that Manny Halley is no longer my management."

12348753263?profile=original

Keyshia has to shoulder some of the blame for her album's low numbers. Back in October she went against her labels wishes and released "I Aint Through" featuring Nicki Minaj as her first single. The song is a departure from the soulful ballads fans are used to hearing from the singer, and it peaked at No. 58 on Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop songs chart.

The label didn’t really want to drop the record because they knew … that people wanted a more intense, soulful record from me about love and I really should have followed (their) direction,” she said. “But I wanted that to be a statement record. It’s like saying, ‘I’m doing me, you know. I don’t have no regrets for nothing that I’m doing.’”

There’s no way to predict how people will respond to things,” said Ron Fair, chairman of Geffen Records. “It’s something that Keyshia really wanted to say.”

Geffen has released "Take Me Away" as Cole's latest single, which she performed on Conan O'Brien earlier this week.

Video After The Jump

With a rapid fire delivery and boundless energy some people may be quick to compare Cleveland's Machine Gunn Kelly with another white mc, Yelawolf.

But the 6-3 lanky rapper says he got his inspiration from Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, the 1st rappers to put his city on the map.

"They were the reason I tried rapping fast," MGK tells Cleveland.com

Kelly, born Colson Baker bounced around for much of his younger life.  Living in Houston, Egypt, Chicago, Los Angeles and Denver, MGK planted his feet firmly in Cleveland six years ago and plans to bring the city back to hip hop prominence.

"I waited a long time to feel like I was part of something," he says. "Cleveland is just like me -- an underdog. To be able to do something here and to be appreciated so much, it's nuts."

The 20 year old describes his rhyme style as "raging... which is basically nonstop energy,"

With his newly released mixtape "Lace Up" and a rapidly growing fan base, MGK is making all the right moves, although he's suffered a couple of bumps and bruises along the way.

"I didn't listen to hip-hop until I moved to Denver. In fourth grade, I moved to a predominantly black school. I got my ass whupped," he says.

He started to earn his stripes through battle rapping: "I was a skinny boy. Whose ass was I gonna whup? But I found out that words are more powerful than anything, and I ran with that."

Check out his music video for "Cleveland" below. You can grab his "Lace Up" mixtape from his website  www.mgklaceup.com.

The rapper has no love for the state after serving eight months in prison on gun charges, and says he's never coming back.

DMX made a similar proclamation about the state of Arizona before changing his mind.

As of now, Weezy can't see a New York appearance happening unless a promoter is willing to Back a Brinks truck up to his tour bus.

They’d have to give me U2 money,” Wayne told Rolling Stone via Rap-Up.

Considering three of Young Money's artists, Cory Gunz, Jae Millz and Nicki Minaj are from New York it will be interesting to see how this all pans out.

12348762679?profile=originalFile this story under "WTF Of The Week"

A New York college student is suing a Las Vegas escort service because of the trauma he claims he suffered after almost being arrested when he called police to snitch on them.

Hubert Blackman was staying at the Stratosphere on December 17, when he called Las Vegas Exclusive Personals for a h*e.

When the hooker arrived, Blackman explained to her that he wanted to buy her services for an hour. After performing a lap dance and sex act for a total of $275.00, the hooker bounced after only half an hour.

According to the Las Vegas Sun, Blackman called the escort service demanding a refund because the hooker left early and he was drunk when he made the agreement.

After being told to kick rocks by the escort service, Blackman then called Las Vegas Metro Police. They told him prostitution was illegal in Las Vegas and he could be arrested. They informed him he would be better off calling the Better Business Bureau.

Blackman decided to file a lawsuit in New York federal court instead, stating "An escort did an illegal sexual act on me during her paid service to me'' and "I almost had gotten arrested."

He alleges he now suffers from an unnamed mental condition that he needs treatment for after the "traumatic" event.

In the lawsuit filed without a lawyer by Blackman he states: "I would like the court to close the business. I also would like to get my $275 payment back and a $1.8 million verdict for the tragic event that happened."

The 28-year old actress was photographed in Hawaii recently enjoying the waves and showing off her bikini body.

If those rumors about JT and Munn are true, Jessica isn't letting it affect her work at all. The "A-Team" actress has three films coming out this year. "The Tall Man" and "The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea" and "New Year's Eve" are all scheduled to hit theaters this year.

In what can only be described as a miracle, a mother is reunited with the daughter that was kidnapped 23 years ago.

On August 4, 1987, Joy White took her three week old baby, Carlina to a Harlem hospital because the baby was suffering from a very high temperature.

White went home to rest after the baby was admitted.   When she came back the next day her daughter had vanished.

White hoped and prayed for the safe return of her daughter, but that didn't happen until over 2 decades later.

Carlena became suspicious of the woman raising her because she couldn't produce her birth certificate.

That suspicion led her to start searching the web for answers. She came across the website of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Digging further she found a story of a baby taken from a hospital 23 years ago.

Carlena called the center, who then alerted authorities.  They, in turn decided there was enough evidence to investigate further.

January 4, 2011, Joy White got the phone call she had been waiting 23 years for. Carlena, who had been raised under a different name called her biological mom.

DNA tests were taken and at last Carlena had found her way home.

"I never gave up hope," Carlina White's grandmother, Elizabeth, told WABC. "It is like she has been around us all her life. She wasn't a stranger. She fit right in."

With mother and daughter reunited, the attention now turns to who kidnapped baby Carlena. Police are currently searching for the woman that raised her.
