And just like that the backlash against Trinidad James has started. As we previously reported, James told a New York City crowd at his concert Tuesday (November 12) that Atlanta runs New York musically.
Within hours of the story breaking Brooklyn, New York emcee Maino got at Trinidad on Twitter.
"S/O to all the NY niggas who let this Rotten Teeth n*gga @TrinidadJamesGG disrespect us lastnite! Somebody wake @TAXSTONE up tell'em this nasty mouth nigga @TrinidadJamesGG is on the menu," Maino wrote. "After we clean this guy up I'm straighten a few of u NY niggas out for being the Vaginas that u R!"
James didn't back down. He got on his Twitter account and continued to express his opinion.
"Maino wanna shoot me for saying the truth then shoot on. I ain’t backtracking sh*t," James responded. "Ny consumers are a disgrace to their own culture. I don’t ever have to make it on the radio ever. F*ck the radio. I’ll die a real n*gga. I speak the truth….and the TRUTH WILL SET YOU FREE….#CrazyDeacon #BlackBatman…coming soon. You gonna wanna hear this. Ima die with a Trini Flag in the Air… “WHEN I DIE BURY ME IN A CARNIVAL”!!!"
Harlem, New York rapper Smoke DZA was also heated. He and James exchanged words on the social networking site
"@smokedza if you the real n*gga that I know you to be then you can hit my line and stop listening to these f*ck n*ggas in yo city. U Kno Me," Trinidad wrote.
I have a feeling this is only the beginning.

The final numbers are in and Eminem has officially claimed the top spot on the Billboard 200 chart with his latest album. The Marshall Mathers LP 2 sold 792,000 copies in it's opening week, according to Billboard.
MMLP2 is the seventh consecutive album from the Detroit emcee to debut at No. 1.

Trinidad James didn't claim "King of New York" status last night during his concert at Converse Rubber Tracks in NYC, but he did make it clear that in his opinion Atlanta runs New York City musically.
"I remember when New York ran this sh*t dog. When Dipset was f*cking turned the f*ck up," Trinidad said. "What the f*ck happened? I remember when New York rap was the sh*t. And us in the South...us Bamas, we was like 'What the f*ck?' And we just did our own thing, but now we run y'all musically. That's crazy. I'm not trying to start nothing, but if you wanna do something, we can do something 'cause I don't give a f*ck. I'm just being honest with you. I looked up to New York music. And now every n*gga that's really popping out of New York, you might as well say he's from Atlanta."
