Supa Z - "Powered Up" @zdiculous @trillestent

Coming from Carson, California; Supa Z is definitely a breath of fresh air from the West Coast hip-hop scene. With familiar sounds from down south to a mix of melodic manipulation with auto tune, this heavy bar-to-bar rapper stands out and stands tall. It’s quite hard to guess Z’s next moves as his versatility is off the charts. Crazy wordplay and sporadic flow change makes Supa Z a long-lasting artist and eventually he will make his mark on the entire music industry.

LUMBERTON, N.C. — One of the men convicted of killing Michael Jordan's father will be released from prison as early as 2023.

The N.C. Post-Release Supervision and Parole Commission announced on Tuesday it has granted parole to Larry M. Demery.

Demery, 44, was sentenced to life in prison in 1996 after pleading guilty to first-degree murder, armed robbery, and conspiracy to commit robbery in the fatal shooting of James Jordan, the father of NBA legend Michael Jordan.

He will be released on Aug. 6, 2023, WCET reports. Demery had been denied parole in two previous hearings, according to WSOC.

Jordan was shot and killed on July 23, 1993, at the age of 56 while sleeping in his car along a highway near Lumberton, North Carolina. Both Demery and Daniel Green were convicted in the murder. Both have accused one another of pulling the trigger in the years since the incident. Green maintains his innocence to this day.

Jordan's body was found 11 days later in a swampy area of McColl, South Carolina.

In North Carolina, crimes committed on or after Oct. 1, 1994, are not eligible for parole. Demery was sentenced under previous guidelines, so he is eligible for parole.

A Texas mother-of-two has been killed in Mexico.

23-year-old Lizbeth Flores was found dead in Matamoros on Tuesday morning, one day after she was reported missing from her Brownsville home.

Her body was covered in bruises, and all of her teeth were missing, leading investigators to believe she was tortured beforehand.

She died of blunt force trauma to the head, police said consistent with a large rock that was found nearby.

She had crossed the border via Veterans International Bridge on Sunday shortly after 5 PM to meet her boyfriend, telling her mother she would be back that night.

When she didn't return, her frantic mother called police — but because she had left the country, all they could do was file a missing person's report.

"It was 11, 12, 1, 2, and I kept calling her to find out where she was and why she hadn't gotten home, and I couldn't sleep all night because I was waiting up for her," her heartbroken mother María Rubio told KRGV.

She believes she fell victim to attempted extortion by a gang of kidnappers.

"She had signs of violence, she was brutally tortured, she was kidnapped, I don't know who did it... you don't do that to a young lady," she sobbed. "All she did was go from work to home."

"I'm asking for justice for what they did to my daughter - she did not deserve this."

Flores' body remains with a forensic examiner in Matamoros; the FBI are now investigating.

It’s a mix of Soul and True Hip-Hop”. That definitely is the case with his song “The Chosen One, Itiz”. The melody is very soulful, with a sprinkle of EDM. His storytelling in this song is Phenomenal! It goes through explaining his growth and his path as a man in todays society. “Steady gunning for the top cause Ima homie from the bottom” is my favorite line in this song.

People in North Korea are reportedly being forced to give up their pet dogs so they can be used as dog meat for restaurants.

The move by the leader Kim Jong Un is thought to be aimed at appeasing rising discontent among the public amid a dire economic situation in the secretive country, including food shortages.

Pet dogs are thought to be owned mostly by the elite and wealthy in the capital Pyongyang and are seen by authorities a symbol of capitalist "decadence", while ordinary people have pigs and other livestock.

Mr Kim issued a ban on pet ownership in July, denouncing it as "a tainted trend by bourgeois ideology", according to South Korea's Chosun Ilbo newspaper, citing a source.

The source said: "Authorities have identified households with pet dogs and are forcing them to give them up or forcefully confiscating them and putting them down."

Some of the dogs are being sent to state-run zoos or sold to dog meat restaurants, the source added.

Dog meat is traditionally popular in China and on the Korean Peninsula, although consumption is on the decline in South Korea.

Women today in HipHop have a double weight on their shoulders. Its always been harder for a female emcee to enter the game. And these days they only do in one of two ways, either tough like the guys...or presented as a porn star. The young ladies who love hiphop and its culture are left with few to appreciate, or appreciating those with a foul message and presentation. The few dope Fem-cees we have....are usually overshadowed by large status media pushing the promiscuous life style of the reigning female rappers.

Enter a real artist. Meet Kay L.A. While still delivering steamy lyrics, its done in a respectable way. Tied in with the emotion of knowing and growing with someone.  And mixed in with that....is the presence of true lyrical ability. Kay L.A. brings content and quality to the booth. While presenting herself as a woman, and able to be beautifully attractive, with out being 98% undressed. Choosing to sell her sound and skill instead of just sex and her body.

Her latest release "Crush On You (Remix)," is a new rendition to a classic Lil Kim track. Kay goes in bar after bar showing she can hang with the big dogs of hiphop, while showing this new era of female rappers they need more than just some WAP to compete with a real woman who can rip a mic. Beauty is only skin deep, but Kay L.A. holds that beauty in a way that you know shes more than whats outside. Past the skin, you are dealing with talent, determination, intelligence and respect. And these qualities show in her musical content.

"Crush On You (Remix)" comes with a full length professional video. Showcasing Kay's presentation only adds to the respect you'll immediately feel for what this young lady is doing. Its clear we need a major difference in the presentation the female emcees in hiphop today, and Kay L.A. is a great start. Check out the video for "Crush On You" below!

NEW YORK (AP) — President Donald Trump is again threatening to send federal agents to New York City if local authorities don’t stop a surge of violence that has left seven people dead and more than 50 people shot since Friday.

Trump, who’s running for re-election on a law-and-order agenda as a counterweight to the police and criminal justice reform movement, reacted to the news of the mayhem in his hometown Sunday night on Twitter.

“Law and Order,” Trump wrote, directing his message at the city’s Democratic mayor, Bill de Blasio. “If (he) can’t do it, we will!”

It was the latest in a string of bloody weekends that have roiled the city in the wake of coronavirus-related shutdowns, rallies against police brutality and a month-long protest encampment in front of City Hall.

According to police, 51 people were shot from Friday through Sunday, six of whom died from their injuries. Another man died after a physical altercation, police said.

Eight people were shot and five people were killed over the same span last year.

De Blasio on Monday dismissed Trump’s tweet as “bluster,” telling reporters that a recent uptick in gun arrests was a hopeful sign that the NYPD “will turn this tide.”

De Blasio’s press secretary, Bill Neidhardt, noted that Trump sent his tweet hours after retweeting a pundit who said Democratic cities should be left to rot.

Trump has used violent spikes in Democratic-led cities such as New York, Chicago and Philadelphia to justify claims that recent reforms and cuts to police budgets have handcuffed officers and allowed criminals to run amok. His re-election campaign has been airing farcical television commercials suggesting no one will be there to answer 911 calls if his Democratic rival, former Vice President Joe Biden, is elected president.

“The only thing rotten is Trump’s mind,” Neidhardt tweeted in response.

The murder of Run-DMC DJ Jam Master Jay has remained a mystery for almost 18 years, with few witnesses and no motive to explain the shooting death of the acclaimed musician inside a Queens studio in 2002.

On Monday, federal officials and members of the New York City Police Department will announce charges for two suspects connected to the unsolved murder, NBC New York has learned. Law enforcement sources identified the alleged suspects as Ronald Washington and Karl Jordan; the former already in prison and latter arrested by ATF and the NYPD Sunday.

A 2:30 p.m. ET press conference has been scheduled between Chief Rodney Harrison and the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of New York.

Jam Master Jay was the one-man band for Run-DMC -- a DJ with scratches and beats that kept the party going while the Rev. Run and DMC unloaded rhymes. Yet the pioneering rapper encountered the same fate as the greats after him like Tupac Shakur and the Notorious B.I.G.

Jay's studio has been converted into the Hall of Fame studio owned by a new company that has kept Jay's legacy alive with painted murals and several RUN DMC memorabilia that decorate the walls.
