Coachella has always been seen as the least traditional of the big U.S. music festivals, and in 2010, they're definitely staying with that sentiment. On Tuesday (January 19), organizers revealed the lineup for this year's Coachella fest — set for April 15-18 at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California — and the bill is topped by three acts you wouldn't necessarily see headlining fests here in the states (except when the Beastie Boys drop out at the last minute): Jay-Z, Muse and Gorillaz.
Joining them are the usual assortment of 'Chella acts, including the prerequisite reunited acts (Pavement, Faith No More), the icons (Thom Yorke, Devo, Sly and the Family Stone), the indie stalwarts (Vampire Weekend, Phoenix, Spoon, MGMT), the hotly tipped buzz acts (Yeasayer, the xx, La Roux,) and electro mainstays (Orbital, Hot Chip, LCD Soundsystem.)
Other acts on the bill — which features more than 130 acts — include Them Crooked Vultures, Grizzly Bear, She & Him, Coheed and Cambria, De La Soul, Sunny Day Real Estate and the Raveonettes.
Jay-Z will close out the fest's Friday night (with LCD on the undercard), Muse draw the Saturday headlining slot (with Faith No More before them), and the Gorillaz — set to return this year with their Plastic Beach album — will wrap up the whole shebang with their Sunday night spot (Pavement are the secondary headliners).
Tickets for the 2010 edition of Coachella go on sale Friday (January 22) at 10 a.m. through the fest's official site, with a three-day pass costing $269.

Britney Spears has started speaking in a British accent.
The 28-year-old singer has become obsessed with animated US TV show 'Family Guy' and has reportedly been wandering around Los Angeles' Mondrian Hotel mimicking the voice of troublesome baby Stewie, whose English accent is voiced by show creator Seth MacFarlane.
A source said: "Britney has developed a real fascination for 'Family Guy'. She's been staying in the hotel's penthouse suite and has been watching box sets."
Britney has been addressing hotel staff in the voice much to their amusement.
The source to The Sun newspaper: "She really likes Stewie and has been trying to copy his British accent. It's a bit weird, especially when she's in the gym speaking like a camp Brit."
This is not the first time Britney has spoken in a British accent.
The pop star apparently adopted English pronunciation during her stay at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles when she arrived there in January 2008 for treatment.
She was also videoed numerous times trading her Louisiana twang for UK inflections.
A source said: "She had the English accent thing going the whole time. It didn't stop."

(AllHipHop News) U2’s famed guitarist the edge has confirmed that the group will collaborate with rapper Jay-Z on an upcoming song for charity.
According to The Edge, super producer Swizz Beatz reached out to U2 front man Bono with the idea of creating a benefit song for Haiti, which was rocked by a 7.0 earthquake last Tuesday (January 12).
“Last night we wrote a song,” The Edge revealed. “Bono got a call from a producer, Swizz. He and Jay-Z wanted to do something for Haiti. So, Bono came up with the phrase on the phone, and last night we were here. We wrote a song, finished, recorded and send back to them. So, that might be the next thing you hear from us!"
Swizz Beatz also confirmed that the three chart topping artists were in the recording studio working on a track via his Twitter page.
"Me, Bono, Hova (Jay-Z), have something to say about Haiti,” Swizz Tweeted. “Stay tuned. I told you I was working on something amazing for Haiti They need us!!"

Lady Gaga, Eminem and Jay-Z have proven to be International stars. Illustrated by their nominations at UK's The Brit Awards. While one of the world's biggest sensations in 2009, Susan Boyle has been totally shut out.
The award show which will be held at London's Earls Court on February 16 will feature performances by Lily Allen, Jay-Z and Cheryl Cole according to Music-News Underground.
It seems astonishing that Susan Boyle who has sold more than 1.6 million copies of her debut album "I Dreamed A Dream" in the UK alone wouldn't at least be asked to perform. But Ged Doherty, chairman of the BRITs Committee and Sony Music U.K. chairman and CEO, says. "Susan won't be performing on the show, not this year" according to Billboard,
Lady Gaga received a total of three nominations while Taylor Swift, Black Eyed Peas, Rihanna, Eminem, Jay-Z and Shakira are all up for one apiece.

Video After The JumpNEW YORK – Haitian-born musician Wyclef Jean defended his charity on Monday in the wake of questions about its practices while calling on the international community to enable the evacuation of his homeland's earthquake-ravaged capital.
"Port-au-Prince is a morgue," Jean said at a Manhattan press conference, recounting how he collected the corpses of small children and adults from the festering streets on his recent trip. Tears streamed down his face as he looked into the camera, speaking to his countrymen.
Residents should be evacuated to tent cities outside Port-au-Prince to allow for aid to reach them and so cleanup can begin in earnest, Jean said, asking for help from around the world in building encampments.
"We need to migrate at least 2 million people," Jean said, promising to draw on his status as one of Haiti's favorite sons to aid in such an effort. "I give you my word, if I tell them to go, they will go. But they need somewhere to go to," Jean said.
The musician made the plea for an evacuation at the behest of Haitian Prime Minister Jean-Max Bellerive and President Rene Preval, said Hugh Locke, the president of The Wyclef Jean Foundation Inc.
The organization, also known as the Yele Haiti Foundation, has drawn fire in recent days as groups that vet charities raised doubts about its accounting practices and ability to function in a nation devastated by last week's earthquake.
Jean gave an impassioned defense of the organization, which has received more than $2 million in donations in just a few days.
"My dad always told me, if you're a man with a clear conscience, speak with a clear conscience and the world will know," he said. "Have we made mistakes before? Yes. Did I ever use Yele money for personal benefit? Absolutely not."
An Associated Press review of tax returns and independent audits provided by Jean's foundation showed that it was closely intertwined with Jean's businesses.
Among the mistakes by the young organization, Locke said, was the decision to buy $250,000 of airtime from Telemax S.A., a for-profit TV station in Haiti that is majority-owned by Jean and another foundation board member.
Locke said that Yele believed it was getting a good price for airtime in a nation where many are illiterate and rely on the TV for information. The decision would be handled differently now, he said.
The foundation plans to send donated supplies to Haiti on a plane provided by FedEx on Saturday. It is still deciding how donated funds will be spent, considering such options as mobile schools for refugee camps and security forces to escort supplies, Locke said.

Call the goodfellas the Mob Squad. Jay-Z, Young Jeezy and Trey Songz are getting ready to start the next leg of the BP3 tour and have adopted a nickname.
"The way Jay explained it to me, he wanted to give people the best show possible," Songz told Mixtape Daily Thursday. "They could have easily done it by themselves and it'd be great. But [Jay] wanted to give the best show. All of us bring a separate aspect to the table, making it a great show all the way. I'm there for the ladies, of course. Then I bring an R&B soul vibe and my hip-hop. Jeezy got the streets. And Hov is Hov.
"You gotta be there because it's action-packed from the jump," the singer added.
As big a venture as the trio will have onstage, they just might be doing it big offstage as well. Songz said they may do at least one record together.
"It's definitely all in the talks," Trigger Trey admitted. "It's the Mob Squad. Me, Jay, Jeezy, we plan on working together while we on this tour because the energy we have together when we get around each other is amazing. And like I said, all aspects like that on a record is amazing. Maybe while we out on the road we get it done."
Songz will definitely be working on his new mixtape and putting it out soon.
"I been in the studio. The first thing I did when I got back in the studio was the Rihanna 'Hard' [remix]. I explain how I go hard. As far as music is concerned, the grind is concerned, as far as women are concerned, I go hard. Then I went in and got four or five great records. That's actually four or five original records. I definitely want to release a mixtape to show people that [the skills] ain't went nowhere."

Video After The JumpMike Greenberg of ESPN's very popular show 'Mike and Mike In The Morning' show made a colossal slip up this morning.
The veteran talk show host for both radio and television appears to say Martin Luther "Coon" instead of "King" as ESPN is coming back from a break.
There really is no excuse for this. I'm sure he will try to explain it away as just a slip of the tongue. But on a day of celebration for all the good things Dr. Martin Luther King stood for, Mike Greenberg has offended millions of people.

Maybe doctors should leave their beepers at the door before performing surgery.
A Minnesota urologist was indefinitely suspended from doing surgery for removing the wrong kidney in a cancer patient - then a few months later did a biopsy on another patient’s pancreas when it should have been done on the kidneys.
Dr. Erol T. Uke, of Edina, was also reprimanded Friday by the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune. The ruling states Uke could regain his surgical privileges if the board later determines he is competent enough.
Uke removed the wrong kidney from a cancer patient in March 2008. Uke told investigators that he was distracted by his beeper at the time and did not read the radiologist’s notes on the case.
Left with only one cancerous kidney, the patient was reported to have undergone another operation to remove the tumor while trying to save the kidney.
Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park, where the wrong kidney was removed, has since made changes in its operating procedures in order to avoid similar mistakes.

The rap mogul, best known for his lavish lifestyle and string of girlfriends, told the crowd at the BET Honor Awards that he admired garbage disposal men as a child.
He claimed to like watching their 'synchronized art and work ethic'.
The BET Honor Awards honours five black Americans for achievement in areas ranging from entrepreneurship to public service and education.
P. Diddy – real name Sean Combs – picked up the award for entrepreneurship while singer-and-actress Queen Latifah won the prize for media.
Also at the ceremony – which will be broadcast in the US on February 1 – Jennifer Hudson was given a standing ovation by Whitney Houston after performing one of the diva’s best known hits 'I Will Always Love You’.
Whitney was then given the BET Honour for Entertainment by 'So Sick’ hitmaker Ne-Yo.
Debra L Lee, BET Networks chairman, highlighted the plight of earthquake-struck Haiti during the event.
She said: 'Before this disaster, BET Networks, in celebration of its 30th anniversary, was set to donate thirty thousand dollars every month for a year to an organization that has dedicated itself to working towards a brighter future for the African American community.
'In light of the devastation in Haiti, BET plans to donate the first grant to immediate emergency relief in Haiti."
Accomplished educator Dr. Ruth Simmons and neurosurgeon Dr. Keith Black were also honoured - for education and public service respectively - at the ceremony, which took place at the Warner Theater in Washington.

The 'Hero' singer - whose mother is Irish-American and her father was an African-American of Venezuelan descent - claims she never fit in at school because of her heritage, leaving her very insecure about the way she looks.
She said: "I am very insecure about my looks, and I always have been because of being mixed race. It's not so weird now, and everyone's accepting it in a big way, but as a child I felt very, um, out of place and didn't feel pretty.
"When you grow up with that type of insecurity you don't always feel pretty."
Mariah began to realise she was different from other children when she took her white best friend on one of her weekly visits to see her father.
She told Observer Woman Magazine: "She got out of the car and went up the stairs to his house and he was over 6ft tall and very handsome, but to her he must have really been scary because I don't know that she'd ever seen a black man before. And she looked at him, her mouth went open and she started screaming and crying.
"I think he was trying to make me feel better and calm her down, but it didn't work. You never know what people say in their houses about different races. So my mother took her home and I went up the stairs with my father."

R&B and Pop Princess Janet Jackson covers the January/February issue of Gotham Magazine.
In it she talks about her new book, New Year's resolutions and her brother Michael's death.
Check out an excerpt from the interview below.
On what she’s taken from Michael’s death:
“When you hear people say life goes on, it’s really the truth. You can’t stop living. It becomes a part of you. I feel a bit selfish because there are times I feel I shouldn’t be doing this, but I enjoy my work and I have to keep doing it. I have to keep my life going. There are days that are harder than others.”
On her New Year’s resolutions:
“I want to learn a language. I haven’t decided which, but it’s between French, Spanish and Italian. I also want to get closer to God.”
On her new album:
“It’s going to be a little different. The writing is about life experiences. There’s a part of me that’s craving escapism, which is a sense of wanting to keep on moving with my work but also of coming to terms with reality. So I think it will be upbeat and light.”
On her new book:
“I hope it’s inspiring for all ages. I’m talking about weight loss, confidence, self-esteem—especially in your youth. It’s not an autobiography, but there are little anecdotes that I give here and there from my childhood all the way to the present that I thought would be interesting and helpful to share.”
On what she loves about New York:
“Everything. I love the energy–the creative energy. I’ve been here for 12 years and I will be here for the rest of my life.”
