It was just several weeks ago that 50 Cent announced the start up of TMT Promotions. A boxing promotion joint venture between the business mogul and long time friend Floyd Mayweather Jr. The two signed several boxers to the company including Billy Dib and Andre Dirrell.

Now comes news that TMT Promotions is no more. All of the fighters that were signed to the company have now been moved over to Floyd's own Mayweather Promotions, according to several published reports.

50 will continue working as a boxing promoter however. Manny Pacquiao's adviser Michael Koncz tells Boxingscene.com that Pac Man and 50 have formed their own promotional company. Mayweather was initially going to be involved with this new venture, but that is no longer the case.

12349490666?profile=original

"50 Cent and I have been talking now for maybe the last two months," Koncz told Boxingscene. "They approached us with the idea to form a promotional company. Initially it was going to be 50 Cent, Manny and Floyd. But right now I don't think Floyd is going to be a part of it. I explained the idea to Manny. We already have a promotional company, MP Promotions, and we have already done three separate promotions from Top Rank... on a smaller scale. I have to take the blame for that. I'm in charge of it. There's an element missing there, but I have so much to do with Manny - that I haven't got that company to where I want it."

12349491061?profile=original

Koncz said that the new company would shake things up on future Pay-Per-View events by having two fights instead of four, and staging mini-concerts in between to give fans a much more interesting viewing experience. He also said the company would be looking to sign fighters soon.

"I think with 50 Cent, with his entertainment connections and his popularity there, combining that with Manny's popularity and expertise in boxing - we can bring a new flavor to boxing," Koncz added. "We can excite some young boxers and I think we can sign some top quality boxers. I spoke to 50 Cent tonight and confirmed that we're going to go forward. Manny is coming here this weekend for other business, but we're all excited about it.  With 50's influence in the music industry, we want to put a different flavor of the shows."

Pacquiao's next fight will be against Juan Manuel Marquez on Dec. 8 at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas according to the L.A. Times. It will be the fourth time these two have squared off in the ring.

No word yet on if 50 Cent and Pacquiao's new company will be involved in this fight

The former NFL player was formerly charged on Wednesday (September 12) in the case.

Wiz Khalifa Covers Complex [Cover Story & Pics]

12349479089?profile=original

Pics After The Jump

There’s a party going on right here. Fresh from rocking a crowd of 13,500 at the Nikon at Jones Beach Theater in Long Island, NY, Wiz Khalifa is unwinding in his dressing room. The sold out show was the latest stop on the Under the Influence of Music Tour. It’s midnight, all the beer is gone, and the strategically placed incense sticks have all burned out. But a bunch of people are still floating around, as are an endless supply of joints, plastic red cups filled with Bombay gin and lemonade, and the sounds of classic hip-hop breaks and beats.

It’s all fun and games as Wiz—who’s been rocking the same torn-up, skintight jeans for three days—kicks it with his inner circle.

There are Taylor Gang members Tuki Carter, Wiz’s personal tattoo artist, and Berner, the aptly named weed guy who’s working with Wiz on a clothing line called Freshko. He’s also famous for his web video series, “Stoner Girls Gone Wild.

There’s Chevy Woods, Wiz’s longtime friend and trusty sidekick. There’s Benjy Grinberg, founder and CEO of Pittsburgh rap powerhouse Rostrum Records. It’s been a busy day for Benjy since both of the tour’s headliners, Wiz and Mac Miller, are signed to Rostrum.

Then there’s Brian Brick, owner of the clothing store Timebomb, a staple of Pittsburgh hip-hop and one of the first places to sell Rocawear, Phat Farm, and Ecko in the City of Steel. There’s a little bit of all of them in Wiz, who is, after all, a fully tatted stoner rapper entrepreneur whose come-up put Pittsburgh hip-hop on the map.

Brick and Wiz are discussing one of Wiz’s favorite groups, Three 6 Mafia. “There are kids these days who don’t even know Juicy J’s old shit,” says Wiz. “Before, Juicy was cadences, he’s more lyrical now.” Though he’s down with the Taylor Gang, Juicy’s headlining the Smokers Club Tour today. But an unexpected guest has come by to hang out: J. Cole.

Wiz has done what so many young spitters dream of, but only a select few actually pull off: He’s evolved from local star to indie signee to Internet celebrity to major-label superstar.

Wiz has known the Roc Nation rapper for years. “We met in the streets when we were both out thugging,” says Wiz. “We ain’t have no money and no deal. We rose in our situations together. We share a lot of the same experiences.”

Those would be the experiences shared by all newly minted rap stars—the delicate balancing act of chasing chart success while maintaining underground respect. And make no mistake, whether you prefer his crossover hits or his harder mixtape cuts, 24-year-old Cameron Jibril Thomaz is by all means a star. He’s got the Billboard hits, the plaques, and the national tour to prove it. More important, Wiz has done what so many young spitters dream of, but only a select few actually pull off: He’s evolved from local star to indie signee to Internet celebrity to major-label superstar.

These days Wiz is Uncle Snoop’s favorite nephew. He’s the only one in the industry Kanye West respects. And in Wiz’s own terms, he is the O.N.I.F.C. (Only Nigga in First Class). Watching him balance work and play, juggle commercial expectations and creative vision—all while maintaining relationships with fans and friends alike—is an object lesson in the trials and tribulations of rap stardom circa 2012.

But right now, he’s just having fun playing a game with Cole. The game revolves around identifying the samples behind classic rap records like the Charmels’ “As Long as I’ve Got You” (sampled on Wu-Tang Clan’s “C.R.E.A.M.”), Bobby Caldwell’sMy Flame” (Biggie’sSky’s the Limit”), and the Five Stairsteps’ “O-o-h Child” (2Pac’sKeep Ya Head Up”), all of which are bumping through a Bose speaker dock from a playlist on Wiz’s iPhone.

Guests around the room have to name the rap record that used that particular sample. If they get it wrong, they have to guzzle a shot from a one-liter bottle of Bombay. If they get it right, whoever asked the question takes the shot.

“Who’s the white boy that doesn’t know this sh*t?” asks J. Cole, of no one in particular.

One white boy who would probably recognize all the samples (but has no time to play because he’s too busy recording on his tour bus) is Wiz’s labelmate, Mac Miller. The Pittsburgh mixtape sensation, whose indie releaseBlue Slide Park debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard albums chart last year, was recently sued for $10 million by Lord Finesse over a 2010 mixtape cut. It seems the Diggin’ in the Crates Crew wasn’t cool with Mac diggin’ intheir crates.

“The game has changed,” Wiz says. “Not to say anything against Mac, but to any artist [who wants to] make their situation stronger, make sure the songs that you publish sell more than your mixtape stuff. That will help you stand up against that because nobody can say that you’re building your career off it.”

Wiz ought to know; he’s built quite a career himself. Hits like the Stargate-produced smash “Black & Yellow” and the Benny Blanco–produced follow-up “No Sleep” have raised him to the top of the rap game. Still, the hustle never stops. One of the two huge Prevost tour buses parked outside contains a makeshift recording studio. He’s come a long way since the days when he rolled back and forth from Pittsburgh to New York in Benjy’s black 1997 VW Jetta. He’s gone from performing in front of 20 people to averaging 20,000 a night, and from earning four figures a performance to six.

Midway through, Wiz and Cole’s sample game takes an unexpected detour as they start debating who knows the lyrics to Canibus’ “100 Bars” better. (To his credit, Cole can recite the first few bars of the song.) Later, when Cole describes a woman with a particularly fat ass, Wiz replies “I can’t even hear this man, I got a fiancée.” They play on into the wee hours of the morning, throwing back shots of gin until Cole winds up barfing in the bathroom while Wiz pats him on the back. It’s all part of the balancing act.

Video After The Jump

Drake might have millions of fans, but there's at least one industry veteran who doesn't think much of the Toronto MC.

DMX was a guest on MTV's RapFix Live Wednesday (September 12) and he let it be known that he has a problem with Drizzy. X said the Young Money rapper wasn't talented and has an annoying voice.

12349488066?profile=original

"He has talent but it's kind of redundant," X said. "It's kind of the same all the time, and it sounds the same to me personally. It's an annoying sound. Like a washing machine or a dryer. I don't even have to explain. I just don't like what it is"

Dark Man also called Drake out for not including people who worked closely with Aaliyah when she was alive on her next album that he is producing.

12349488665?profile=original

"I'm feeling some kind of way about the fact that you've been commissioned... You've been blessed, you've been given the opportunity to do the [Aaliyah] album yet you don't include anybody she worked with personally. What part of the game is that?"

DMX goes off on Drake

Video After The Jump

Tom Hanks became emotional at his friend Michael Clarke Duncan's memorial service on September 10, while recalling a hilarious story his Green Mile co-star had told him about joining a gang as a youth in Chicago.

Hanks used impersonations of Duncan to help illustrate the tale. Duncan told him that there was a particular gang that distinguished themselves from others by dying a patch of their afro red. To join the gang you had to survive a 20-minute beating.

Duncan said he survived the beating no problem, got his red patch of hair, then went home to show his mama.

His mother, who is a lady of small stature was cooking dinner. She asked her son why he had a red patch of hair in his head. He told her it was because he had just joined a gang.

Before he knew what happened his mama had hit him upside the head with a frying pan, sending pork chops flying. She told Duncan, who by then was crying hysterically to go borrow a pair of scissors from his sister and cut that red patch of hair out of his head. Then go down the street and tell that gang he wouldn't be joining them after all.

Duncan did as he was told, then heads down the street with a bald patch in his afro. He finds the gang and tells them his mother said he couldn't join.

Hanks said he asked Duncan what happened next and Duncan told him they beat the crap out him again for another 20 minutes.

"If it wasn't for that mama and the frying pan with a pork chop, we would not be here today celebrating the life of Michael Clarke Duncan," Hanks said.

Video And Pics After The Jump

Los Angeles police had their hands full earlier today trying to catch bank robbers who led them on a high speed chase through L.A., all while throwing money out of the window.

"This isn't something we see every day," Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department spokesman Capt. Mike Parker said, according to NBC Philadelphia. "This definitely had some unique aspects to it."

12349495474?profile=original

What may have seemed like a good idea to the suspected banks robbers only slowed them down as onlookers waved to them, signaling for them to throw more money. At times they had to weave through dozens of people in the streets.

"If they thought that by throwing money out the window, that that would distract us or have people get in the way and block us -- they're going to run out of money," Parker said "We're not going to run out of sheriff's deputies. We're not going to run of helicopters. We're going to stick with them."

"I can't imagine they did this for the good of the community," Parker later added.

The chase started after four or five suspects robbed a Bank of America in Santa Clarita, California. The chase lasted 80 minutes before ending in South L.A.

Two suspects were taken into custody at the scene. Two others are being searched for in Sylmar, where one person has been detained but authorities were not sure if he is a suspect.

12349495498?profile=original

Within minutes a crowd of onlookers had gathered and swarmed the area.

12349496267?profile=original

Witnesses were grateful the robbers had thrown the cash in their neighborhood.

"I'm just so glad this person came to throw this money in the 'hood, basically. You usually see robbers and they take their stuff and they leave. But this guy came over and tried to help us out. You know, it's a big depression nowadays," said a female witness, who identified herself as a 23-year-old resident of the area. "He's doing something I never though a robber would ever do."

"Kind of like a Robin Hood situation, rob from the rich, give to the poor. Everybody's out to kind of get some of the money," another resident told NBC4
