Turns out Jay-Z CAN knock the hustle ... or at least he's trying to 'cause he claims in a new lawsuit the photographer who shot his debut album cover is making tons of dough off the rapper's back.
The music mogul is suing Jonathan Mannion & his company, Jonathan Mannion Photography LLC, claiming Mannion's exploiting Jay-Z's name and image without the rapper's consent. In docs, obtained by TMZ, Jay says Mannion has Hova's name & likeness plastered all over his website & sells photos of Jay-Z for thousands of dollars.
Problem is ... Jay-Z says he never gave Mannion permission to do so -- and he claims when he asked Mannion to quit using his image, the photog demanded tens of millions of dollars. Jay claims Mannion is making an "arrogant assumption that because he took those photographs, he can do with them as he pleases.”
Jay hired Mannion in 1996 to shoot the cover for "Reasonable Doubt." Jay says Mannion took hundreds of pics & Roc-A-Fella Records used some of the photographs for his album covers & paid Mannion handsomely for those uses.
Jay-Z claims Mannion continues to prominently display Jay's image on the landing page of his website, where he sells Jay-Z pics & merch.
Jay says he has strict control over whether & how his name, likeness, identity & persona are used ... and Mannion never got the green light to continue hawking the pictures.
Jay claims it's "ironic that a photographer would treat the image of a formerly-unknown Black teenager, now wildly successful, as a piece of property to be squeezed for every dollar it can produce. It stops today.”
The rapper's suing to put a stop to Mannion selling the pics, stat & wants him to fork over any of the profits he's made off his likeness. We've reached out to Mannion, so far no word back.

Pooh Shiesty might not have shot the club security guard in Miami after all -- at least that's what the alleged victim's saying now ... claiming he doesn’t remember giving his original statement to cops.
PS's attorneys, Bradford Cohen and Saam Zangeneh, filed a new motion this week with what they say is sworn testimony from the guard in question ... who now claims he was on a powerful painkiller and unaware of what he was saying to the police when they first spoke.
According to the docs, obtained by TMZ, Frivin Dor's transcribed interview with Pooh's legal team is documented ... and he's on record saying he was given Dilaudid -- a powerful opioid painkiller -- when he first arrived at the hospital that night, which he now claims knocked him on his ass as he spoke to a detective about the matter, 'cause he doesn't remember a thing.
In this new account, Dor suggests the commotion in the club might have been caused by a fan (the spinning type, not a person) that fell in a parking garage nearby. He also says he doesn't recall Pooh aiming at him or even shooting at him.
According to the docs, he also said he doesn't want to press charges, and doesn't want officials in FL to contact him about this matter either ... which Pooh's lawyers say is enough for prosecutors to at least reconsider the decision not to release Pooh on bond.
It's a full 180 from what was described in the affidavit used to bust Pooh last week ... which gave a very detailed story about what supposedly happened.

Ikedia Douglas, Born June 22, 1991. Better known as Fashion Flunky was born and raised in the St.Thomas projects in New Orleans, LA. Nobody want to paint the narrative that they came from a great home, But I take pride saying I come from a strong minded, go getter, tight knit family. My mother made sure I grew up respectfully and made sure I didn’t have to “Get it out the mud”. Music wasn’t important to me in my younger years. I played basketball and wanted to go pro. After hurricane katrina hit, I moved to Atlanta ga and fell in love with the music, the culture and fashion. The music scene in both states are different but the culture made me feel like I was home. I tried to write music but i sucked honestly. I couldn’t right a hook to save my life. So I let it be. When lil baby came out that was the moment I became really serious about being an artist. To know music wasn’t his first choice, but with dedication anything is possible. After that I started really rapping, I tried out for a lgbtq+ reality show and made the cut and that boosted my confidence. Being trans (Female to Male) ofcourse I come across the most challenges to get through the doors to the music world. Being a trans rapper I had to give something a little extra. I got so many No’s before somebody saw something in me. Besides my music I had to learn to make a statement no matter where I’m at because of who I am. I allowed my fashion to lead me in the building and my entertainment took me straight to the top. That’s how I became Fashion Flunky! For new music and updates be such to follow Fashion Flunky on social media and streaming services. "DAT BEAT" a new single by the rising artist is set to be release soon, stay tune!!!

Pulling a pistol from his waistband, the young man spun his human shield toward police.
“Don’t do it!” a pursuing officer pleaded. The young man complied, releasing the bystander & tossing the gun, which skittered across the city street & then into the hands of police.
They soon learned that the 9mm Beretta had a rap sheet. Bullet casings linked it to four shootings, all of them in Albany, New York.
And there was something else. The pistol was U.S. Army property, a weapon intended for use against America’s enemies, not on its streets.
The Army couldn’t say how its Beretta M9 got to New York’s capital. Until the June 2018 police foot chase, the Army didn’t even realize someone had stolen the gun. Inventory records checked by investigators said the M9 was 600 miles away - safe inside Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
“It’s incredibly alarming,” said Albany County District Attorney David Soares. “It raises the other question as to what else is seeping into a community that could pose a clear & present danger.”
n the first public accounting of its kind in decades, an Associated Press investigation has found that at least 1,900 U.S. military firearms were lost or stolen during the 2010s, with some resurfacing in violent crimes. Because some armed services have suppressed the release of basic information, AP’s total is a certain undercount.
Government records covering the Army, Marine Corps, Navy and Air Force show pistols, machine guns, shotguns & automatic assault rifles have vanished from armories, supply warehouses, Navy warships, firing ranges and other places where they were used, stored or transported. These weapons of war disappeared because of unlocked doors, sleeping troops, a surveillance system that didn’t record, break-ins & other security lapses that, until now, have not been publicly reported.
While AP’s focus was firearms, military explosives also were lost or stolen, including armor-piercing grenades that ended up in an Atlanta backyard.
The armed services & the Pentagon are not eager for the public to know the answer.
Weapon theft or loss spanned the military’s global footprint, touching installations from coast to coast, as well as overseas. In Afghanistan, someone cut the padlock on an Army container & stole 65 Beretta M9s -- the same type of gun recovered in Albany. The theft went undetected for at least two weeks, when empty pistol boxes were discovered in the compound. The weapons were not recovered.

A Dallas police officer is in custody, accused of sexual assault of a child.
The Dallas Police Department said Monday that 48-year-old police officer Tyrone Williams Jr. had been arrested and booked into the Lew Sterrett Justice Center.
The department revealed no information about the alleged crime other than to say it reportedly took place in the city of Dallas.
Williams has been with the department since March 2009 and was most recently assigned to the South Central Patrol Division.
The department said Williams is on administrative leave pending the outcome of an internal affairs administrative investigation.
Jail records show Williams is being held on $25,000 bond. It is not clear if Williams has obtained an attorney.

B.M.F. co-founder Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory received some great news Monday (June 14) – his prison sentence has been reduced.
Earlier today, U.S. District Judge David M. Lawson agreed to reduce Big Meech’s prison sentence from 360 months to 324 months.
The reduction amounts to a 3-year reduction for Big Meech.
Meech was convicted of running a nationwide Continual Criminal Enterprise, and Conspiracy To Launder Money Instruments which raked in over $270 million in drug proceeds from the late ’90s until the Feds took down B.M.F. in 2007.
In April of 2020, Big Meech, who was sentenced to 30 years, and his brother Terry “Southwest T” Flenory, who received 25 years, filed for compassionate release, citing the risk the coronavirus posed to their health behind bars.
Southwest T was released from his 25-year prison sentence to home confinement, due to his elevated risk of catching the coronavirus. Big Meech tried to use the same argument in vain but a judge and an appeals court denied his request four separate times.
However, Monday’s sentence reduction Big Meech just received had nothing to do with his request for compassionate release.
Big Meech met the criteria for a sentence reduction USSG amendments 782 and 788, which revised the drug quantity and chemical quantity tables for all drug offenses.
Big Meech, who was scheduled to be released from Sheridan FCI in Oregon on November 25, 2031, will now be coming home in 2028.

A Virginia teenager showed her estranged father the meaning of good "cents" and maturity.
Avery Sanford hadn’t seen her dad in years when he dropped off his final child support payment last month — dumping 80,000 pennies on his ex-wife’s lawn, according to WTVR, the CBS affiliate in Richmond.
"I just turned 18. When I was in the middle of class, my dad came by. He had rented a trailer," Sanford told the outlet.
Her penny-hoarding dad "pulled up in front of the house and turned the trailer on so it dumped out all the pennies on the grass," she recalled.
"And my mom came out and was like, ‘What are you dumping in my yard?’ She didn’t know who it was until he shouted, ‘It’s your final child support payment."
Instead of getting mad, the high school senior decided to set aside the copper delivery for charity, according to the report.
The family picked up every penny and plans to donate all $800 to Safe Harbor, a domestic abuse center.
"It’s not just my mom he’s trying to embarrass, it’s also me and my sister and it’s upsetting that he didn’t consider that before he did that," the teen told the station.
"Turning around and donating that money to moms and children in need, I feel like that really turns this situation into a positive. You can learn from it."
Her father told the station he acted out of 18 years of pent-up frustration and "the last thing he wanted to do" was push his daughter further away.

BROOKSVILLE, Fla. (AP) — A small town in Florida accidentally sold its water tower in a blundered real estate transaction.
A businessman purchased a municipal building underneath the city of Brooksville’s water tower last April for $55,000 with the goal of converting it into a gym. However, when Bobby Read went to the county to get an address for his new business location, he was told the parcel he bought included the entire water tower site, according to the Tampa Bay Times.
Luckily for the town, Read was willing to give it back. County records show he transferred the water tower back to Brooksville through a warranty deed last month. The town of 8,500 residents is located 50 miles north of Tampa.
“I don’t know where the blame falls here,” said Blake Bell, a city council member. “We’re council members and we rely on the city manager. We assume that he has done his due diligence.”
City Manager Mark Kutney blamed the use of a bad legal description for what happened. The city’s redevelopment agency director resigned after the accidental sale.
“We’re human,” Kutney said. “Sometimes we make a mistake.”

Bernie Mac's set to be the subject of a feature film biopic produced by John Legend's company, and if the late comedian's daughter has her way ... casting will be a breeze.
Mac's daughter, Je'Niece McCullough, tells TMZ ... since her dad died she's been asked many times who would be best to play him in a movie, and there are 2 names she's had in mind for a while.
The first is Aldis Hodge -- known for his roles on "Leverage" and in "Hidden Figures" -- because Je'Niece says he's a great actor with a similar complexion to Bernie.
He also has major biopic experience -- he played MC Ren in "Straight Outta Compton" and more recently, NFL legend Jim Brown in "One Night in Miami." Je'Niece believes he's the perfect A-lister to play her dad as an adult.
But, that's not all ... she also has an out-of-the-box option if producers want to portray Bernie in his younger years, and he's a YouTube star.
His name is Mark Phillips, and Je'Niece tells us her daughter loves him, and always says how much he reminds her of Bernie. She adds that Mark is funny and has the acting chops to capture her dad's essence.
The just-announced project is a partnership between Legend's production company, Get Lifted, and Mac's estate ... which Je'Niece says is headed up by her mother.
While they haven't spoken yet about the film, she thinks Mom will be on board with Aldis and Mark. Now, she's gotta get John's ear too.
