Video After The Jump

Report via 10News WTSP -- GAINESVILLE, Fla. — A crowded Gainesville Waffle House turned into a murder scene early Sunday morning.

A 41-year-old man was allegedly handing out $20 bills and paying for meals at the restaurant when he was shot to death. Deputies say it began with an argument over generosity.

The Alachua County Sheriff's Office said 41-year-old Craig Brewer was inside the Gainesville restaurant around 3 a.m. when an argument broke out between him and Ezekiel Hicks, 25.

According to an arrest affidavit, witnesses saw Brewer paying for customers' meals and "passing out" $20 bills. One customer, a friend of Hicks, began arguing with Brewer because he didn't pay for her meal, the affidavit says.

Then, Hicks got involved and began arguing with Brewer as well.

Deputies say Hicks left the restaurant, grabbed a handgun and went back inside the Waffle House. A bystander tried to intervene, but deputies say Hicks and Brewer then got into a physical fight.

Hicks then shot Brewer in the head, deputies say. The sheriff's office said the entire incident was also captured on restaurant surveillance video.

Hicks is now facing a first-degree, premeditated murder charge.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Magic Johnson abruptly quit as the Los Angeles Lakers’ president of basketball operations Tuesday night, citing a desire to get back to the simpler life he enjoyed before taking over the franchise just over two years ago.

Johnson didn’t tell owner Jeanie Buss or general manager Rob Pelinka before he stepped in front of reporters about 90 minutes before the final game of the Lakers’ sixth consecutive losing season.

Johnson didn’t directly tie his decision to the future of coach Luke Walton, who was widely expected to be fired by Johnson soon. But Johnson repeatedly mentioned Buss’ affinity for Walton and Johnson’s desire not to cause upheaval between them.

Johnson also says he’s tired of being fined by the NBA for tampering.

Report via WSB-TV -- COWETA COUNTY, Ga. - A rapper and former NFL player are waking up in a metro area jail facing drug and firearm charges.

A sergeant pulled over Torrence Hatch Jr., also known as Boosie, and former New York Jets safety Antonio Allen Monday in Newnan.

The sergeant noticed their car driving erratically.

Police say marijuana, a gun and cash were found in the car.

Formerly "Lil' Boosie," the Baton Rouge, native is known for songs including "Wipe Me Down," "Independent," and "Zoom."

In 2011, Boosie was sentenced to 8 years in prison following a guilty plea to drug charges.

He pleaded guilty to conspiring to smuggle codeine, marijuana and Ecstasy into two Louisiana state prisons. They were the Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola and Dixon Correctional Institute in Jackson, La.

The rapper was serving a prison term for a separate conviction for marijuana possession when he smuggled the drugs with help from a prison guard.

At the time, he was also facing a first-degree murder charge in the 2009 death of Terry Boyd.

On May 11, 2012, a jury found Boosie not guilty of first-degree murder.

Report via TMZ -- Nipsey Hussle will take one last victory lap around L.A. before he's laid to rest, and the procession will touch much of the city ... especially the neighborhoods he fiercely supported.

Sources close to the slain rapper tell TMZ ... Nipsey's casket will travel to a few important landmarks, including his Marathon clothing store, where he was shot to death. All told, the procession will cover just over 25 miles as it winds through South L.A. following Thursday's memorial service at Staples Center.

Our sources say Nipsey's casket will be at Staples during the celebration of life, and the funeral procession will start as soon as the service ends. We're told Nipsey's family wanted to make sure the community got an opportunity to pay respects along the route because most people won't be able to attend the memorial. Staples only seats 21,000.

As you know, Nipsey's store -- at the intersection of Slauson and Crenshaw -- was central in his life and death. He intentionally opened it there to support his neighborhood, but, sadly, it's also where he was killed ... and where several vigils have been held since then.

We're told the procession is expected to take about an hour and a half, ending at a funeral home in the Crenshaw district.

Report via TMZ -- Tekashi69 thinks he will see blue sky again -- outside of prison walls -- before the end of this year, but he's gonna need the very same people he snitched on to help him out.

Tekashi and his former manager, Shotti, have already pled guilty in their federal racketeering cases. However, there are still several other defendants tied to the case who are scheduled to go to trial this September.

The hope for Tekashi and his attorneys is that all of the others also take deals -- given the overwhelming evidence against them -- so there would be no need for a trial at all.

Here's why that could be huge. Tekashi's attorney, Dawn Florio, tells us if the other men strike plea deals and the trial is called off ... they'll ask a judge to grant 6ix9ine time served -- he's been locked up since November. If the judge grants it, he'd walk free because he's fulfilled his obligations under his cooperation agreement with authorities.

It's a long shot, but it's probably the only chance he's got.

So far, only one of the other defendants has filed a motion to dismiss the charges -- making it seem like he's willing to drag the whole thing out until trial -- but Florio is hopeful a plea deal could happen at any time.

If Tekashi's plan works, though, it would be one helluva swing -- considering he's facing 47 years to life in prison.

Report via TMZ Sports - - Conor McGregor is reportedly under investigation in Ireland -- again -- after allegedly punching a man Saturday in a pub in Dublin.

The UFC superstar was at the Marble Arch pub in Drimnagh (a suburb of Dublin) when he was approached by another patron who thought Conor was acting like a jerk, according to the Irish Mirror

The patron reportedly talked trash to Conor about his loss to Khabib Nurmagomedovsaying, "The Russian battered you" ... and that's when Conor snapped and punched.

We called Ireland's Garda Síochána -- the country's police force -- who wouldn't identify Conor by name but did confirm an investigation of an alleged April 6 incident at the Marble Arch.

"No arrests, matter under investigation."

We also called the pub -- but an employee hung up on us as soon as we asked about Conor.

Calls to McGregor's rep have not been returned.

It's just the latest in a long list of legal problems for Conor ... who's also facing criminal charges for an alleged incident at a Miami hotel last month.

He's also reportedly being investigated in a rape probe in Dublin stemming from an alleged incident at a hotel in Ireland back in December. Conor's rep has called the report a "rumor."

Of course, Conor was convicted in a bus attack incident back in 2018 -- when he threw a steel dolly at a UFC bus ... injuring multiple people inside the vehicle.

Video After The Jump

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago police are looking for two gunmen who they say shot at least six people, including two children, Saturday afternoon in Chicago's West Englewood neighborhood.

The shooting occurred at about 6:20 p.m. in the 6300 block of South Seeley during a "family gathering," said Chicago police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi.

A group of people were standing outside of a home, while celebrating a baby shower, when two gunmen approached the party on foot and fired into the crowd, police said.

Police said they believe the shooting was in retaliation to a previous gang shooting in the neighborhood.

The shooter has not yet been identified by police.

An 8-year-old boy was shot once in the chest and once in the back. A 10-year-old girl was shot in the shin. Both of the children were taken to Comer's Children Hospital in stable condition, according to Chicago police.

The adult victims included a 29-year-old woman who was shot in the shoulder and chest and is in critical condition. A 23-year-old man was shot in the foot, a 28-year-old man was shot in the right shoulder and a 42-year-old man was shot twice in the hip.

Authorities believe that other victims self-transported from the scene.

Witnesses said the family did everything they could to help the children after the shooting.

"He may be eight years old, with a bullet wound to his chest, and his mama was putting the pressure on his chest," one witness said. "Then I see the family bring out another young girl, she may be like 10, maybe 11 years old and she got a gunshot in her right leg."

Guglielmi's 7:19 p.m. tweet said that "individuals on scene are not being cooperative with detectives."

Chicago police are investigating.

If you have any information about the gunman or shooting call the Chicago Police Department.

Video After The Jump

Report via New York Post -- Former “Smallville” star Allison Mack on Monday pleaded guilty for her role in upstate sex-slave cult Nxivm.

A sobbing Mack, 36, appeared before a judge in Brooklyn federal court, where she copped to racketeering and racketeering conspiracy charges — including extortion and forced labor — just hours before jury selection was set to begin in her case.

“I’m here to plead guilty before your honor,” the actress said, weeping so much that Judge Nicholas Garaufis stopped to offer her tissues.

“I must take full responsibility for my conduct. I am very sorry for my role in this case. I am very sorry to my family and to the good people I hurt through my misguided adherence to [Nxivm leader] Keith Raniere’s teachings,” she later continued.

Mack confessed to being part of a secret master-slave group within Nxivm called DOS, admitting that she kept a slave and instructed women in the group “to perform services for me.”

She said the system was “designed to make them think they could suffer serious harm” if they didn’t perform the services — because they’d handed over damaging collateral to DOS such as nude photos and financial details.

“I was a member of a secret society founded by Keith Raniere,” Mack — wearing a beige sweater, black pants, leopard-print shoes and a brown straw in her bun — told the court.

“I concealed Keith Raniere’s role as the head of DOS.”

Asked if she had a clear head, she admitted she “had one beer last night.”

Prosecutors allege that women in DOS were kept on starvation diets, branded with Raniere’s initials and groomed to have sex with him.

Mack faces 20 years in prison under the charges she pleaded guilty to Monday. It was not clear if she has a cooperation deal with the government, and her lawyers declined to comment.

Mack was among six people arrested last year over their roles in Nxivm, including Raniere and Seagram’s liquor heiress Clare Bronfman, who helped fund the organization with her vast fortune.

Nxivm co-founder Nancy Salzman and her daughter Lauren Salzman both pleaded guiltyto racketeering conspiracy charges for their involvement in the group last month.

Lauren was also a “master” in DOS — and has admitted to keeping her own personal slave locked in a room for two years — while Nancy confessed to hacking into emails of the group’s perceived enemies and destroying evidence that could be used against it.
