ATLANTA (AP) — Shootings at 2 massage parlors in Atlanta and 1 in the suburbs left 8 people dead, many of them women of Asian descent, authorities said Tuesday. A 21-year-old man was taken into custody in southwest Georgia hours later after a manhunt.

Atlanta Police Chief Rodney Bryant said 3 people were killed at a spa in northeast Atlanta, while a 4th person was killed at another spa across the street. He said all 4 victims were female, & “It appears that they may be Asian.”

Atlanta police officers responding to a call of a robbery in progress at 1 spa around 5:50 p.m. found 3 women dead from apparent gunshot wounds, police said. While they were at that scene, they learned of a call reporting shots fired at another spa across the street & found a woman who appeared to have been shot dead inside the business.

Earlier, around 5 p.m., 5 people were shot at Young’s Asian Massage Parlor in Acworth, about 30 miles north of Atlanta, Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Capt. Jay Baker said. Two of the victims were dead & 3 were transported to a hospital where 2 of them also died.

Authorities were not immediately releasing the gender or race of the victims, Baker said.

A man suspected in the Acworth shooting was captured by surveillance video pulling up to the business around 4:50 p.m. Tuesday, minutes before the shooting, authorities said. Baker said the suspect, Robert Aaron Long, of Woodstock, was taken into custody in Crisp County, about 150 miles south of Atlanta.

Baker said they believe Long is also the suspect in the Atlanta shootings.

With 2 shootings at massage parlors in Atlanta & the knowledge of the Acworth shooting, Atlanta police said they dispatched officers to check nearby similar businesses & increased patrols in the area.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — A 24-year-old man accused of shooting his girlfriend and killing four of her family members in Indianapolis reportedly said he did so because of a fight over her stimulus check.

According to preliminary probable cause documents, Malik Halfacre admitted to shooting and killing Eve Moore, 7, Dequan Moore, 23, Anthony Johnson, 35, and Tomeeka Brown, 44. He said he was arguing with his girlfriend because he wanted some of her stimulus check before he opened fire on the family.

Halfacre told detectives that after he shot everyone inside the home, he took the money, his girlfriend's purse and car, and left the scene, according to those court documents.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were dispatched to the area of New York and Randolph streets around 9:35 p.m. on March 13 for a report of a person shot. When they arrived, they found a victim suffering from gunshot wounds.

According to those probable cause documents, the victim identified the suspect as Halfacre, who she said was her boyfriend and the father of her 6-month-old child. She told police Halfacre had shot her and the other people inside her home and then left with their infant daughter.

The infant was located several hours later at the home of Halfacre's sister. According to the preliminary probable cause, Halfacre's sister had called 911 to report that she had the missing child.

She told detectives that her brother had given her the details of what happened on Randolph Street while dropping off the baby and all of the baby's stuff. She said before leaving her house, he had called a friend to help him get out of town.

Detectives identified a home in the 6200 block of Eastridge Drive as the place Halfacre was likely hiding. After an hours-long standoff, SWAT eventually made entry into the residence and Halfacre was found hiding in the attic and taken into custody.

Halfacre is being held on charges of murder, attempted murder and robbery.

Marvin Hagler's wife is calling BS on unfounded conspiracy theories suggesting the boxer's death was caused by the COVID vaccine -- saying it's simply "nonsense."

"Marvelous" Marvin Hagler -- one of the greatest boxers of all time -- died on Saturday at his home in New Hampshire. He was 66.

Around the time of his death, Hagler's former rival Tommy Hearns floated a theory about Hagler's health in an IG post on his verified page.

"He’s in ICU fighting the after effects of the vaccine!” Hearns said in a post that has since been deleted.

Now, Hagler's wife Kay is firing back -- saying she was WITH Marvin all the way to the end and can personally confirm his death had nothing to do with the COVID vaccine.

"I am the only person that know how things went not even his family know all the details and I do NOT accept to read some stupid comment without knowing really what happen," Kay said in a Facebook post.

"For sure wasn't the vaccine that caused his death. My baby left in peace with his usually smile and now is not the time to talk nonsense."

Kay also notes how Marvin "hated funerals" & "therefore there will be no funerals or church celebrations."

"He wants to be remembered with a happy smile but I would be happy if each of you can light a candle for him."

Hagler's official cause of death has still not been released & likely won't be for weeks, possibly months.

Kay adds, "Thank you for your love, [Marvin] loved people so much, he loved you all he was happy when he read your comments he was a special person the most beautiful person i had ever met in all my life."

Hagler was 62–3–2 in his storied career -- with wins over legends like Roberto Duran, Alan Minter &, of course, Tommy Hearns.

Several players from the Norman High School girls basketball team have broken their silence about the racist comments directed at them by a game announcer ... & they're calling for action.

It's powerful stuff.

The players have teamed up with famous civil rights attorney Ben Crump -- who has worked with the families of several high-profile victims of police or racial violence ... from Ahmaud Arbery to Breonna Taylor, George Floyd & Jacob Blake.

Crump held a news conference Monday with several of the players & their families -- who all spoke out about Matt Rowan, the announcer who hurled the n-word at the team for their decision to take a knee during the national anthem.

As we previously reported, Rowan's comments were caught on a hot mic & people at home could hear him bashing the NHS players who were demonstrating to spotlight police brutality & racial injustice.

During his rant, Rowan said he hoped the Norman team would get their asses kicked on the court that night.

Rowen later apologized for his language & said he's a Type-1 diabetic who loses his ability to censor himself when his blood sugar is high, which he claims happened that night.

FYI, the Norman High School girls basketball team went on to win the Oklahoma 6-A state championship over the weekend.

The players say they were obviously hurt & shocked by the comments -- but they're proud of the way they stood together as a team & still WON the whole tourney!

Ben Crump says there are no plans to take legal action at this time ... but continued to praise the team for thriving in such a challenging moment.

On March 11, 2020, the entertainment industry went off script. That evening marked the onset of COVID-19 and played out like a fiasco movie written by some terrible Hollywood writer. Lord Ivan provides valuable insights into the impact of the Coronavirus pandemic on the entertainment sector. Let’s delve.

Lord Ivan backs it up to the evening of March 11, 2020, when two major events set off shockwaves across the entertainment industry. One was the United States’ president declaring ban on European travel, and the second was actor Tom Hanks tweeting from a cinema set that he had tested positive for Coronavirus! As a result, thousands of television and film production companies came to a grinding halt.

Lord Ivan says almost one year from the onset of Coronavirus, things are still dicey. Lord Ivan shares that while many theaters, theme parks, and live entertainment spaces
remain shut as per Government guidelines, those
permitted to open are seeing little to
no footfall whatsoever..

Lord Ivan expresses that at least a disaster movie
ends with a resolution after two hours, but the
stark reality for the entertainment industry is
a rather long duration of triage. The entertainment
industry is also contemplating how the new normal
would actually be.

Lord Ivan explains, “Entertainment sector leans
heavily on constructive consumer sentiment as well
as social dynamism. So when a disruption of this
scale occurs, which forces people to stay
indoors — whether by choice or by the
norm — it is an existential challenge
for the entertainment industry.”

Lord Ivan shares yet another important insight. He says that even after people in the entertainment industry start to rehire thousands of those who have lost their jobs, the grave repercussions of COVID-19 will impact how much a consumer is willing to dole out for entertainment options like live performances and cinema.

Lord Ivan points out that while COVID-19 has brought
live entertainment avenues to a grinding halt, the
streaming arm of the entertainment industry is
witnessing a huge spike — courtesy of streaming
organizations like Netflix and Spotify coming up
with unique, innovative solutions to entertain
people during the lockdown.

Lord Ivan is a music and entertainment aficionado whose
largest performance so far has been opening a sold-out
event for the three-time Grammy award winner - Nelly.
Currently, he is working with some platinum producers
on some major upcoming releases.

NEW YORK (AP) — Half a year after his death, Chadwick Boseman was posthumously nominated for an Academy Award on Monday for his final performance in “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.”

The nomination for best actor was widely expected but still historic. Boseman is the first Black performer ever nominated posthumously for an Oscar. He was nominated alongside Steven Yeun (“Minari”), Riz Ahmed (“Sound of Metal”), Anthony Hopkins (“The Father”) & Gary Oldman (“Mank”).

Only 7 actors have previously been nominated after their death: Jeanne Eagels, James Dean, Spencer Tracy, Peter Finch, Ralph Richardson, Massimo Troisi and Heath Ledger. Two ultimately won: Finch for his performance in 1976′s “Network” and Ledger for 2008′s “The Dark Knight.”

Many predict Boseman will also win for a performance that’s been called the best of his life. Last month, he also won the Golden Globe for best actor in a drama. Boseman’s widow, Taylor Simone Ledward, accepted the award on his behalf.

Boseman died last August of colon cancer at age 43. Three months later, the August Wilson adaptation “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom” was released by Netflix. Boseman plays Levee, the ambitious trumpeter whose dreams end tragically during a recording session with Ma Rainey (Viola Davis) at a white-owned record label.

Boseman also performed in Spike Lee’s “Da 5 Bloods” as a U.S. soldier in the Vietnam War — a performance that has also found awards attention. Boseman was nominated posthumously by the Screen Actors Guild Awards for his performances in both “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom” & his supporting turn in “Da 5 Bloods.”

After his death, none of Boseman’s collaborators on either film said they knew he was ailing. He was diagnosed with Stage 3 colon cancer in 2016.

It’s Boseman’s first Oscar nomination.
