Complex: Does it bother you at all when certain rappers like Lil Wayne or Jim Jones rep Bloods?

Nipsey Hussle: If you 35, 28, or 30 years old, and you decide you’re gonna pick up a rag and start bangin’, and you can look yourself in the mirror and you still feel like you’re a man? That’s cool, do your thing. My concern is the niggas that are really in the shit. I’m more focused on giving solutions and inspiration more than anything. But to answer your question, I feel like it’s fraudulent. Straight up. If you ain’t put on to this shit, you wasn’t courted on, you ain’t going to the back of the buildings to fight, your homies didn’t get put on, you not from a gang. Not only are you not from a gang, if you ain’t press a line and put in work, not necessarily kill nobody but you know, put yours on the line. It ain’t just you a Blood when it’s convenient, cause you got a camera and it looks cool. When you around 100 Crips, you still a Blood. When 40-Glocc and them run up on you, you still a Blood. And I ain’t talking about Wayne. I got respect for they movement and I like the dude as an artist. But I’m just saying on some gangbang shit, when you go to the county jail and you walk in the court tank and it’s 50 of your enemies, you still gonna say the 60s (Rollin 60 Neighborhood Crips). Or you not a gangbanger. Your homies gonna hear about it, beat you up, kick you in your ass, and you was for nothin’. I know in the real world in this shit, a lot of niggas wouldn’t make it. So like I said, it’s an overstanding I got about it. I look at it like these niggas is totally out of character.

NEW YORK – An upcoming Fox News Channel special hosted by Sarah Palin is titled "Real American Stories."

But rapper-actor LL Cool J says his participation in the show was bogus.

In response, the network has snipped him from the program.

In a Twitter posting late Tuesday, the entertainer wrote that "Fox lifted an old interview I gave in 2008 to someone else & are misrepresenting to the public in order to promote Sarah Palins Show. WOW."

"Real American Stories," which debuts Thursday at 10 p.m. EDT, is hosted by Palin, the former Alaska governor and vice presidential candidate, who joined Fox News Channel as a regular contributor in January. The one-hour program is described by Fox News as "the first installment of a new series" that features "real-life tales of overcoming adversity throughout the American landscape."

Fox News says the episode, which was not available for preview, will feature a Marine Medal of Honor recipient "who gave his life to save his comrades" and a wealthy stockbroker who helps underprivileged students pay for college.

Also listed as part of the show are country singer Toby Keith and former General Electric boss Jack Welch, as well as LL Cool J, who appeared among a number of video clips on the "Real American Stories" Web site Wednesday morning before being removed.

"Contrary to what was reported, LL Cool J was never scheduled to be a guest on 'Real American Stories' with Sarah Palin this week," Rhett Usry, the artist's spokesman, said in a statement on Wednesday. "The show had planned to use an interview from 2008 that was being repurposed without LL's permission.

"This statement is not a reflection of any feelings LL has toward Fox News or Ms. Palin, whom he has never met, rather a clarification of what we have seen published in the media."

Fox News Channel did not respond to numerous calls and e-mails from The Associated Press inquiring about the status of the segment with LL Cool J, who was born James Todd Smith.

But in a statement released to other media outlets, the network said: "'Real American Stories' features uplifting tales about overcoming adversity and we believe Mr. Smith's interview fits that criteria. However, as it appears that Mr. Smith does not want to be associated with a program that could serve as an inspiration to others, we are cutting his interview from the special and wish him the best with his fledgling acting career."

Credits for the 42-year-old actor include a starring role in the hit CBS freshman series "NCIS: Los Angeles," as well as several films such as "Last Holiday" and "S.W.A.T."

It is unclear when or if future editions of "Real American Stories" will appear on Fox News. Thursday's airing pre-empts "On the Record With Greta Van Susteren."

Palin's ongoing relationship with Fox News Channel as a host and news analyst accounts for only part of her television activities. Last week, the TLC cable network announced "Sarah Palin's Alaska," an eight-part series about Palin's home state that is set to start production this summer.

CLEVELAND - A man on the run tried to hide from police by breaking into a women's prison overnight.

Garfield Heights police said they tried to stop a Pontiac G6 for failure to signal during a turn. After that, the story took a turn
.

According to the police report, Ricky Flowers, 20, Gabriel Huston, 20, Mitchell Buyers, 19, and Lamar Sullins, 19, lead officers on a chase through several cities at speeds upwards of 90 mph.

During the chase, the driver lost control of the car several times and spun out at least three times. Finally, the chase ended at a women’s prison on East 30th Street and Broadway Avenue.

Buyers and Sullins fled on foot, but were arrested almost immediately. Huston and Flowers started climbing the prison’s barbed wire fence.

Newburgh Heights police shot Huston with a Taser gun. Flowers made it to the other side, but found himself trapped inside the prison walls.

EMS took Flowers to the hospital after he shred his arm on the razor fence. Police said he needed 36 staples and stitches.

All four boys are in custody facing several charges and more are coming for the seven bags of marijuana found on one of the passengers.

The driver of the car told police he didn’t pull over because he had a suspended license and he didn’t want his mom to find out he was driving the car.

When prison officials found out what happened, they vowed to also press charges against everyone involved.

South Africa expects the IAAF to report back on the results of Caster Semanya's gender test by June and they have told the athlete that she cannot compete until the results are known.

The world 800m champion released a statement yesterday indicating her intention to return to the sport immediately, just hours after the ASA said her return would have to wait until the conclusion of testing by the IAAF.

In response to Semenya's statement, ASA's spokesman Richard Stander said: "The IAAF have said the scientific team is due to report back in June so we are waiting for that."

Semenya has not competed since her victory at the World Championships in Berlin last summer. The 19-year-old was expected to hear the decision last November but in frustration at the long delay, released a lengthy statement yesterday apparently in a bid to speed up a resolution.

Semenya's statement read: "I am an athlete first and foremost and it is vital for my competitiveness, my well-being and for my preparations for events during the European summer that I measure my performance against other athletes.

"I hereby publicly announce my return to athletics competitions. My coach, agent and I will work closely together to identify and prepare for a limited number of athletics meetings over the course of the coming athletics season."

The IAAF are maintaining their position that they will not comment on Semenya's case until the medical findings are finally released.

Lady Gaga has been approached to record the theme to the next James Bond film.

The 'Telephone' singer has been asked to submit a track for the next instalment of the British spy moviefranchise, starring Daniel Craig
.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "The Bond bosses are all huge Gaga fans. Her sound and sense of drama make her the top choice.

"Gaga has the look as well as the voice to tackle a thundering ballad. She's a great songwriter too. This is perfect on every level."

If Gaga is chosen to record the title track she would be following in the footsteps of her idol Madonna, who recorded the theme for 2002 007 movie 'Die Another Day', as well as making a cameo in the film - something Gaga is sure to be keen on.

The song 'Die Another Day' went on to become one of the most successful themes in the series' history.

However, Gaga will not be the only artist in the running to lend their talents to the soundtrack for the film - which is yet to be given a title and in the meantime is being referred to as 'Bond 23'.

Bosses usually ask several music stars to submit tracks and then decide which one is best suited.

Amy Winehouse - who was originally in the running to record the theme to the last instalment 'Quantum of Solace' - and crooner Michael Buble are also in the frame.

The next Bond movie is due to be directed by Sam Mendes, and is expected to be released next year.

PHILADELPHIA — Who knew a school cafeteria could be so much fun?

A space where hundreds of Philadelphia charter school students have been eating their lunches during mundane weekdays has been doubling in its off-hours as nightclub, offering dancing and drinking despite an expired liquor license.

City and school officials are not happy about the arrangement between Club Damani and the Harambee Institute of Science and Technology Charter School, which serves about 450 children in kindergarten through eighth grade.

Superintendent Arlene Ackerman said in a letter to Harambee on Monday that "a school and a nightclub cannot coexist in the same space and (the arrangement) must cease immediately," according to a school district statement.

As a charter school, Harambee receives about $3.5 million annually in public funds but operates independently of the district. Officials at Harambee, which is on spring break this week, could not be reached for comment Tuesday.

A statement on the school's Web site said recent media reports contain "slanderous and inaccurate allegations."

"This attack on Harambee Charter School is a biased depiction of the true success story that Harambee truly is," it said.

Officers with the state Bureau of Liquor Enforcement visited Club Damani on Saturday, a day after WPVI-TV first aired a report on the building's double-life. The segment included footage of liquor bottles and a YouTube video promoting the club in which a man refers to marijuana use.

No alcohol was being served when authorities arrived, bureau Sgt. William La Torre said Tuesday. However, club officials told officers that alcohol had been served in the past and that they thought their license was current, La Torre said.

Club officials denied any drug use on the premises and said the YouTube video was part of a standup comedy routine, La Torre said. Still, officers urged them to be cautious about their clientele, he said.

"Basically, we said we need you to do what's right for the kids," La Torre said.

Liquor licenses can be denied to establishments within 300 feet of a school. In this case, the school moved into a building that already was licensed, state Liquor Control Board spokeswoman Francesca Chapman said Tuesday.

Harambee's facility in West Philadelphia was once an Italian-American social club that had held a liquor license since 1936, Chapman said. The club transferred the license to the school-affiliated Harambee Institute in 2002, but Chapman said it expired in 2008.

Neighbors also are upset about the situation, said city Controller Alan Butkovitz. He said he has received complaints about discarded drug packaging and liquor bottles near the club.

Butkovitz revealed Tuesday that Harambee is one of 13 charter schools under investigation by his office for questionable financial practices.

La Torre said the enforcement bureau last received a complaint — which was noise related — about Club Damani in January 2008, when it was still licensed to serve alcohol.

The city's Department of Licenses & Inspections cited the club in February for lacking three necessary business permits, said Maura Kennedy, a spokeswoman for the mayor's office. The club has until April 10 to comply or it will be shut down, she said

(AP) D.C. police say a fourth person has died after a drive-by shooting in southeast Washington.
Police spokeswoman Gwendolyn Crump said early Wednesday the person was among the nine hit Tuesday when a gunman sprayed bullets into a crowd of people.

Officials say three people were arrested and a weapon was recovered after six men and three women were shot around the 4000 block of South Capitol Street southeast.

Fire Department spokesman Pete Piringer says all were in their 20s and 30s, except for one teenager.

Authorities say four D.C. officers were slightly injured while chasing a suspect's vehicle into neighboring Prince George's County in Maryland.

A gunman sprayed bullets "into a crowd," said Police Chief Cathy Lanier. The shootings of six men and three women happened about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in southeastern Washington, D.C., said D.C. Police Department spokesman Officer Hugh Carew. Fire Department spokesman Pete Piringer says all the victims were in their 20s and 30s, except for one teenager.

One shooting victim died at the scene, one was dead on arrival at the hospital, and the third died in the operating room, said Carolyn Hammond, spokeswoman for Washington Hospital Center. She said a fourth person was in critical condition late Tuesday.

The neighborhood is near a water treatment plant and Bolling Air Force Base. Sections of southeastern D.C. have problems with crime, though surprised neighbors told local media that the area was not a bad place to live and wasn't dangerous.

Washington reported 143 homicides last year, the fewest in nearly 50 years.

The crime scene stretched for blocks and streets were blocked off.

The man behind Malice N Wonderland said he was definitely not one of the moviegoers in line to see "Alice in Wonderland": Snoop Dogg doesn't care for 3-D films.

"I'm way too up in the sky to watch a movie in 3-D," Snoop laughed. "I don't want that stuff coming right in my face. The last movie I saw in 3-D, I'mma be honest with ya, is 'Friday the 13th Part III' in 3-D. Jason threw that spear, man. That spear hit me right in the eye, man. I never watched a 3-D movie again. I'm superstitious. I can't do it."

Snoop's More Malice re-release, which came out last week, includes the song "That Tree" with Kid Cudi.

"We did a cold video for that song," Snoop told Mixtape Daily. "I like working with Kid Cudi. To me, he's fun, dynamic, a brand-new style of MC. He gives hip-hop what it's missing right now, being fun and getting back to what it used to be. Everybody don't have to frown up and tell a story about going to jail, getting shot, having hard times. It can be fun sometimes. To me, his music represents that. His persona represents that. I hung out with him a few times, and he's really my nephew. He calls me Uncle Snoop. I'm happy we had a chance to work together.

"It's basically a song talking about what we love," Snoop added about the Diplo-produced "That Tree." "It's a hard world we live in. Sometimes the only way we can get away is through that tree. We search the whole globe trying to find happiness, and sometimes, it sits right there in front of us in that tree. That's what the song is about; that's what the video is about. It's an imagination video where it's 3-D and you see things coming to life. You really gonna enjoy it."

No need for any funny glasses: The video isn't literally in 3-D, the Dogg explained. "It's just gonna be 3-D at your face all day, understand me?

South Florida, home to sobbing judges and Elián González lawsuits, is the nation's capital of ridiculous litigation. So it's only fitting we play host to this doozy: Marion "Suge" Knight versus Kanye West.

In January 2009, the bankrupt former Death Row Records CEO filed a federal lawsuit against West, claiming the rapper should be financially responsible for an unsolved 2005 shooting at a party he hosted at South Beach's posh Shore Club that left Knight capped in the femur.

Among Knight's alleged damages: medical bills, expenses including "the cost of a private plane to transport him from Florida back to Los Angeles," and a supposedly $135,000 diamond earring that Knight claims was stolen in the melee. The Shore Club's owners were also named as defendants in the suit.

Originally filed in California district court, the suit has now been transferred to Miami."People shouldn't underestimate Suge Knight," says his boisterous lawyer Marc Brumer, adopting the tone of a boxing promoter before a title fight. "He's a very adept businessman. He's a mess, but he's sharp. Nobody likes Kanye West anymore. Even though he's still selling millions of records, everybody's sick of him."

It's unfortunate for Knight, then, that court cases aren't decided by American Idol-style mass text votes. The cigar-chomping, Bloods-affiliated ex-NFL linebacker is in serious need of cash. He has already sold his record label and still owes more than $6 million to the IRS.

Knight was scheduled to come to town for a deposition last week, but it appears the big man can't catch a break. "He was in a pretty serious car accident," Brumer explains. "He lost a couple of teeth, he's in pain, and he can't speak."

West might not be losing sleep over Knight's attack, but it's more bad news for the Shore Club, which was hit with a foreclosure suit in March. Lawyers representing the rapper and the hotel either did not return our calls or declined to comment.

This whole scenario woefully disillusions Riptide. What's the world coming to when hip-hop's resident real bad guy — who once reportedly hung Vanilla Ice from a balcony to wrest royalty rights from him — resorts to a lawsuit in shaking down a rapper for cash?

His message probably won't go viral like an "American Idol" audition, but one Brooklyn politician is urging young people to keep their pants off the ground.

State Sen. Eric Adams will announce Sunday the posting of six giant billboards in Brooklyn targeting the saggy trend.

The billboards go up Monday.

"This whole sagging pants culture seems to have swept the city and the country," said Adams, a Democrat.

"Children will be children. But as adults, we need to be on record and tell them they're doing something wrong."

The 22-foot-tall billboards will be erected along heavily traveled streets, primarily in Crown Heights.

Adams said he used $2,000 in campaign funds to pay for the billboards.

Each billboard features two male models whose pants are hanging so low their underwear is showing.

The message: "Stop the Sag!" and "We are better than this!"

The stop-the-sag movement got a huge boost earlier this year when "American Idol" contestant Larry Platt auditioned for the show.

Clips of his original "Pants on the Ground" song, which urged people to pull up their pants, exploded on the Internet.

"I saw it," Adams said of the Platt video. "I thought it was funny. But when you look at it more closely, you see how big this matter is. When we sag like that, we're playing into it. We look like clowns."

Adams has never participated in the fashion trend, which he said began among prison inmates.

"On a practical level, how do they even walk?" he wondered.

The former NYPD captain and co-founder of 100 Blacks in Law Enforcement Who Care said he will send a letter to Schools Chancellor Joel Klein recommending a citywide dress code to prevent sagging in public schools.

Young men in Crown Heights were skeptical.

"It's more comfortable below the hip," said Saquan Spaulding, 19, sporting black jeans with black boxers held up with a studded belt. "It's good for [Adams] to try and change it, but I doubt it's going to happen."

Older people just don't get it, he said. "It's a young thing."

It is not clear what some students at South Hadley High School expected to achieve by subjecting a freshman to the relentless taunting described by a prosecutor and classmates.

Certainly not her suicide. And certainly not the multiple felony indictments announced on Monday against several students at the Massachusetts school.

The prosecutor brought charges Monday against nine teenagers, saying their taunting and physical threats were beyond the pale and led the freshman, Phoebe Prince, to hang herself from a stairwell in January.

The charges were an unusually sharp legal response to the problem of adolescent bullying, which is increasingly conducted in cyberspace as well as in the schoolyard and has drawn growing concern from parents, educators and lawmakers.

In the uproar around the suicides of Ms. Prince, 15, and an 11-year-old boy subjected to harassment in nearby Springfield last year, the Massachusetts legislature stepped up work on an anti-bullying law that is now near passage. The law would require school staff members to report suspected incidents and principals to investigate them. It would also demand that schools teach about the dangers of bullying. Forty-one other states have anti-bullying laws of varying strength.

In the Prince case, two boys and four girls, ages 16 to 18, face a different mix of felony charges that include statutory rape, violation of civil rights with bodily injury, harassment, stalking and disturbing a school assembly. Three younger girls have been charged in juvenile court, Elizabeth D. Scheibel, the Northwestern district attorney, said at a news conference in Northampton, Mass.

Appearing with state and local police officials on Monday, Ms. Scheibel said that Ms. Prince’s suicide came after nearly three months of severe taunting and physical threats by a cluster of fellow students.

The investigation revealed relentless activities directed toward Phoebe to make it impossible for her to stay at school,” Ms. Scheibel said. The conduct of those charged, she said, “far exceeded the limits of normal teenage relationship-related quarrels.”

It was particularly alarming, the district attorney said, that some teachers, administrators and other staff members at the school were aware of the harassment but did not stop it. “The actions or inactions of some adults at the school were troublesome,” Ms. Scheibel said, but did not violate any laws.

Christine Swelko, assistant superintendent for South Hadley Public Schools, said school officials planned to meet with the district attorney this week or next. “We will then review this evidence and particularly the new information which the district attorney’s office has but did not come to light within the investigation conducted by the school,” Ms. Swelko said in a statement.

Ms. Prince’s family had recently moved to the United States from a small town in Ireland, and she entered South Hadley last fall. The taunting started when she had a brief relationship with a popular senior boy; some students reportedly called her an “Irish slut,” knocked books out of her hands and sent her threatening text messages, day after day.

South Hadley students at a vigil after their classmate’s death in January

At South Hadley High School, which has about 700 students, most students and teachers refused on Monday to talk about the case. Students waited for parents in the pouring rain and a sports team ran by, with one student telling reporters, “Go away.”

Ashlee Dunn, a 16-year-old sophomore, said she had not known Ms. Prince personally but had heard stories spread about her in the hallways.

She was new and she was from a different country, and she didn’t really know the school very well,” Ms. Dunn said. “I think that’s probably one reason why they chose Phoebe.”

On Jan. 14, the investigation found, students abused her in the school library, the lunchroom and the hallways and threw a canned drink at her as she walked home. Her sister found her hanging from a stairwell at home, still in her school clothes, at 4:30 p.m.

Some of the students plotted against Ms. Prince on the Internet, using social networking sites, but the main abuse was at school, the prosecutor said.

The actions of these students were primarily conducted on school grounds during school hours and while school was in session,” Ms. Scheibel said.

Ms. Scheibel declined to provide details about the charges of statutory rape against two boys, but experts said those charges could mean that the boys had sex with Ms. Prince when she was under age.

Legal experts said they were not aware of other cases in which students faced serious criminal charges for harassing a fellow student, but added that the circumstances in this case appeared to be extreme and that juvenile charges were usually kept private.

Somewhere in hell Tony Montana must be proud.

'Scarface', the 80's gangster flick about a Cuban immigrant who shoots, kills and deals cocaine on his way to becoming a drug kingpin is being reenacted by elementary school age kids in a Los Angeles play.

According to TMZ the play is the work of Marc Klasfeld and Rockhard Films whose claim to fame before now has been music videos by Lady Gaga, "Pokerface" and Adam Lambert "For Your Entertainment".

In the play we see little Tony kill his right hand man Manny before being gunned down in a hail of bullets. As he dies the audience claps.

I guess this is entertainment in Hollywood. What happened to kid's plays about the Easter Bunny?
