They say that addicts have to hit rock bottom before they come to the realization that they can't continue living life that way.
For Lamar Odom, that moment came after his recent health scare. The former NBA player was found unconscious on Tuesday, October 13, following a weekend of partying at Dennis Hof's Love Ranch South in Pahrump, Nevada.
He fell into a coma for several days. Now that he is awake and recovering at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, Odom is determined to beat his addiction, believed to be cocaine.
TMZ reports that decision is the reason Khloe Kardashian decided to give their marriage a second chance, although some members of her family remain skeptical.
We wish Lamar luck.

Wale appeared on The Breakfast Club this morning sounding like an artist who isn't happy with his label situation.
He said his project, The Album About Nothing, didn't get the proper push. He then reignited tensions with Meek Mill when he admitted that he's reached out to his label mate, but can't get a return call.
The two previously had issues in June 2014, when Meek felt like Wale wasn't supporting his Dreams Worth More Than Money album by not tweeting it to his followers.
"I ain't talked to [Meek}," Wale said on The Breakfast Club. "I've called him several times since the [Drake beef]. I don't know what's going on. I talk to several people in Dream Chasers, but when he [dissed Drake] I thought, 'OK, son might be off the drink, a little testosterone.' I don't know what's going on, but it's not the right decision."

Wale continued the dialogue by giving his opinion on the outcome of the Drake vs. Meek Mill battle.
“I honestly think [Meek] brought a pencil to a gun fight. He ain’t even bring a knife, a pencil. A piece of paper. He tried to paper cut him to death,” he said. “You can’t compete with somebody that got them type of relationships. I’m tellin’ everybody who thinks that Meek lost this off the strength of losing. It doesn’t matter what he made. He could’ve wrote ‘Ether 3.0′ and the opinions of the people would’ve been that their boy from Canada waxed him.”
It didn't take long for Meek to respond via Instagram. He took it upon himself to kick Wale out of MMG.
"Niggas b doing all this to drop a new record gossiping about they hoe ass feelings and they personal life because they miserable and nobody don't rock wit them," Meek wrote. "Really stay away from me Fam! U not MMG NOMORE! This why u can't get my number you a hoe! and u dead cracked right now @wale foh nuttttt! I wasn't even mad at you Fam u got some real issues with yaself and you jealous! Broke rapper! This my last time I think addressing shit on the Internet .... But if I don't talk about it one of you dudes gone get hurt speaking my name like it's sweet! Y'all niggas gone stop mentioning my name like it ain't no consequences.... I'm off this internet! I don't speak on Mmg in interviews unless it's good! U a clown ... We don't wanna hear you nomore Fam! Go jump off a roof like u been tryna do chump! He not MMG IM MAKING THAT CALL ... Do you know who El Chapo is? This Drug King Pin recently escaped from a Mexico prison and since been idolized heavily in the hiphop industry. DJ Necterr was working with E$ who is an up and coming Latin Rapper from The IE out in Southern California. DJ Necterr recently said that the latin connection between the real El Chapo and E$ is what garnished his attention to the single and decided to put his efforts behind it. Before DJ Necterr was involved in the project the song was developed when E$ was recording at The Wrecking Spot Studios with audio engineer Jsyphon who had been working with producer Space'N Time. Jsyphon let E$ hear some of the music production Space'N Time had came up with on his last visit from Alaska where he is based out of. E$ heard one of the songs and "EL CHAPO" was created featuring All Money In recording artist PACMAN. PACMAN had recently been in the studio working with Jsyphon and E$. Now they have there new single "EL CHAPO".

The Associated Press reports that a copyright infringement lawsuit against the two was thrown out on Wednesday, October 31st.
The nephew of Egyptian composer Baligh Hamdy sued the rapper and producer, claiming they ruined his uncle's song, "Khosara, Khosara," which was sampled for the 2000 hit record, "Big Pimpin."
U.S. District Judge Christina A. Snyder ruled Wednesday that the heir didn't have "the right to pursue a copyright infringement claim" and the case should be tossed out. She told jurors "she was basing her ruling on testimony about Egyptian law that was presented during a weeklong trial."
Pete Ross, the attorney for the plaintiff, said the judges ruling was "completely wrong." He plans to appeal the decision.

Lamar Odom and Khloe Kardashian are officially back together. The couple got married on September 27, 2009, one month after they began dating.
On December 13, 2013, Khloe, 31, filed for divorce from the former NBA player following an extended separation.
TMZ reports that the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star instructed her attorney, Laura Wasser, to go before a judge on Wednesday, October 21, to stop the divorce proceedings. The request was granted.
"This is a very delicate and difficult time for both Lamar and Khloe, and the most sensible thing to do at such a time is not make any big moves and put everything on hold," a source tells PEOPLE. "So that’s what she is doing."
The news comes on the heels of Odom nearly losing his life after being found unconscious at the Love Ranch South brothel in Pahrump, Nevada, on Tuesday, October 13th, following a weekend of partying
He was in a coma at a Las Vegas hospital for several days before slowing starting to recover. Khloe stayed by his bedside the entire time. He was transferred earlier this week to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, to continue the recovery process.
Odom, 35, still faces months of rehabilitation.
During their separation Khloe was involved in high profile relationships with rapper French Montana and Houston Rockets star player, James Harden.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Vice President Joe Biden will not run for president in 2016, he said Wednesday, ending a months-long flirtation with a third White House campaign and setting him on a glide path toward the end of his decades-long political career.
Biden's decision finalizes the Democratic field of White House candidates and bolsters Hillary Rodham Clinton's standing as the front-runner by sparing her a challenge from the popular vice president.

In an extraordinary appearance in the White House Rose Garden, Biden said he always knew that the window for a viable campaign might close before he could determine whether his family was emotionally prepared for another campaign so soon after the death of his son Beau in May. Biden said his family was prepared to back him, but that he nonetheless would not be a candidate.
"Unfortunately, I believe we're out of time," he said, flanked by President Barack Obama and Biden's wife, Jill.

Encouraged by Democrats seeking an alternative to Clinton, Biden had spent the past several months deeply engaged in discussions with his family and political advisers about entering the primary. Yet as the deliberations dragged on, Democrats began publicly questioning whether it was too late for him to run, a notion that hardened after Clinton's strong performance in last week's Democratic debate.
Notably, Biden did not endorse Clinton or any of the other Democratic candidates. Instead, he used the announcement to outline the path he said Democrats should take in the 2016 campaign, including a call for them to run on Obama's record. In what could have been a campaign speech, Biden deplored the influence of unlimited contributions on politics, called for expanding access to college educations and called on Democrats to recognize that while Republicans may be the opposition, they are "not our enemy."
"While I will not be a candidate, I will not be silent," Biden said.
Wednesday's announcement was a letdown for Biden supporters who had pleaded with him to run, and in increasingly loud tones as his deliberations dragged on through the summer and into the fall.
For months, the 72-year-old Democrat made front pages and appeared on cable news screens as pundits mused about his prospects and Clinton's perceived vulnerability. A super political action committee, Draft Biden, was formed with the explicit goal of getting him into the race.
At the White House, aides and longtime Biden loyalists had prepared for a potential bid, putting together a campaign-in-waiting should he decide to jump in. Last week one of those aides, former Sen. Ted Kaufman, wrote an email to former Biden staffers laying out the potential rationale for a Biden run and promising a decision soon.
Biden spoke personally to many supporters. As speculation about his plans reached a fever pitch, he kept up an intense schedule of public appearances, seemingly testing his own stamina for an exhausting presidential campaign.
But he also continued to broadcast his reluctance amid doubts that he and his family were emotionally ready in the wake of Beau Biden's death.
In a September appearance on "The Late Show," Biden told host Stephen Colbert he was still experiencing moments of uncontrollable grief that he deemed unacceptable for a presidential aspirant. "Sometimes it just overwhelms you," he said, foreshadowing his ultimate decision.
Biden would have faced substantial logistical challenges in deciding to mount a campaign this late in the primary process.
Both Clinton and Vermont independent Sen. Bernie Sanders have been in the race since April — giving them a powerful head start in fundraising, volunteers, endorsements and voter outreach. Top Democratic operatives and donors already committed to Clinton would likely have had to defect to Biden in order for him to have viable shot at the nomination.

Having decided against a final presidential campaign, Biden now approaches the end of his long career in politics.
A month after being elected to the Senate in 1972 at age 29, Biden's wife and baby daughter died when their car collided with a tractor-trailer. Biden considered relinquishing his seat, but instead was sworn in at the hospital where his sons, Beau and Hunter, were recovering.
Over six terms in the Senate, he rose to become chairman of the Senate Judiciary and Foreign Relations committees, developing broad expertise in global affairs and a reputation for a plainspoken, unpredictable approach to politics.
Biden twice ran for president. His most recent attempt in 2008 ended after he garnered less than 1 percent in the Iowa caucuses. His first run in 1987 ended even more quickly, following allegations he plagiarized in some speeches from a British politician.
He has not yet detailed his post-White House plans, but has told friends he has no plans to retire in a traditional sense. Although unlikely to again seek elected office, friends and aides say Biden has previously discussed starting a foundation, launching an institute at the University of Delaware or taking on a role as a special envoy and elder statesman if called upon by future presidents.
