A nurse says she can’t catch a break online after being trolled on the internet for her hip-hugging scrubs that are deemed “inappropriate.”
Erika Diaz, 22, showed off her medical uniform, which clearly defined her shapely figure & subsequently went viral on TikTok.
In the clip, which amassed 12.7 million views, Diaz stands in front of her camera in her scrubs, hitting back at people who call it “inappropriate” for work. The video then cuts to images of how the scrubs are advertised online, proving her body has different proportions than the women in the photos.
“Some people just have an issue with my body not my scrubs & it shows,” her caption read.
“Just for clarification I am 5’2” & 107 lbs I’m short & little, y’all can say my body is fake all y’all want it’s not,” she wrote, “ask my back problems.”
“I literally work 2 jobs, volunteer & I am still studying I’m devoting my life to the improvement of others & anyone’s opinions are irrelevant,” she added.
Diaz defended herself against the critics who suggested her outfit wasn’t “professional” & that she should just buy a “bigger” size.
“You simply can buy a 1 bigger size to give you space for breath,” commented one person.
“I’m an old school director. I’d never allow that on my floor — I don’t want to see nails perfume or style — keep that at home where it belongs,” griped another.
But her others followers had her back, advocating for her to flaunt what she’s got without judgment.
“She can’t help it that she’s snatched, let a fine woman live,” wrote one user.
“Can’t change what you have, doesn’t make it inappropriate,” chimed in another.
New details emerged Tuesday in the “Ocean’s 11’’-style heist of a Brink’s armored truck in California that netted up to $150 million in jewels — including that the priceless gems were hijacked at a rest stop.
Last week’s robbery occurred when the high-security vehicle pulled over at the “Flying J’’ travel stop and gas station on its way from one gem show in San Mateo to another in Pasadena outside Los Angeles, authorities said.
That’s when the apparently highly skilled robbers made off with a massive haul that included diamond, sapphire & gold necklaces, as well as a horde of luxury watches.
“They did leave San Mateo on Sunday night [July 11], destined for Los Angeles and the Pasadena Convention Center. And sometime [the next] morning, they were robbed,” said Arnold Duke, president of the International Gem and Jewelry Show in San Mateo.
“There was a large number of Rolex, Cartier & Franck Muller watches. These are luxury watches that sell $10,000 & up.”
Between 30 & 40 percent of the sparkling merchandise in the truck was swiped.
But a former FBI agent, Rick Smith said it’s unlikely any Brink’s worker was involved in the sensational robbery.
“I doubt that a Brinks employee is involved in something like this because it’s so obvious,” he said.
Duke added, “FBI & police investigators, detectives were at our show in Pasadena this weekend interviewing everybody, including my employees, because anybody that was there could potentially be some kind of suspect.”
Police have arrested a man who they said pointed a gun at multiple customers inside of the Family Dollar store in Hamden on Saturday afternoon.
Officers were called to the store on Dixwell Avenue around 3:15 p.m. after getting a report of someone pointing a gun at customers in the front of the store.
According to police, a witness told them that the suspect, later identified as 25-year-old Joshua Murray, of New Haven, was upset that two women did not say thank you to him for holding a door open for them.
Two officers found Murray on Helen Street nearby. He was in possession of a gun when he was found and he was taken into custody, police said.
No injuries were reported.
Murray is facing charges including carrying a pistol without a permit, breach of peace and interfering with an officer. He is scheduled to appear in court on August 2 and was held on a $25,000 bond.

An Iranian bride tragically died at her own wedding after getting hit by a stray bullet during a round of celebratory gunfire.
Mahvash Leghaei, 24, had reportedly just tied the knot when a male guest decided to mark the occasion by firing off some ceremonial gunshots — a custom that’s illegal in Iran.
Unfortunately, the shooter’s festive firearm display, in which he allegedly used an unlicensed hunting rifle, backfired horribly: While the first shot went off without incident, a second round reportedly went through Leghaei’s skull & brain before hitting two male guests.
“We had an emergency call of a shooting at a wedding hall in Firuzabad city & officers were dispatched immediately,” a police spokesperson, Colonel Mehdi Jokar, told Newsflash of the freak accident, which occurred at the wedding south of Shiraz.
Jokar chalked up the marital misfire to “crowds” & a “poor control of the weapon.”
The bride subsequently went into a coma and later succumbed to her wounds. Fortunately, the other 2 victims survived with minor injuries.
Following the incident, the unnamed shooter — who is reportedly a cousin of the groom — allegedly fled the scene with the weapon in tow, but was apprehended by police shortly thereafter.
“Naturally, any disturbance of public order like this crosses the red line with the police, and people need to know that to create a safe community, shooting is banned at weddings,” said Jokar. “We will take tough action against anybody found to be breaking this rule.”
ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. (AP) - A teen in Florida is facing a manslaughter charge after police say she killed her 3-year-old sister by putting a pillow over her head after their mother told the girl to quiet the toddler.
The 16-year-old girl, identified by authorities as 16-year-old Charlise Bell, was arrested Friday in an Orlando suburb.
A police report says the 3-year-old girl was being loud so their mother asked her older daughter to keep her younger sister quiet in a hotel suite’s living room while she was on the phone for work in the bedroom.
Police say the teenager put a pillow over her sister’s head to quiet her and when the woman returned to the room, the toddler was unresponsive.

Curt Schilling clearly has no problem seeing Brittney Griner's detention in Russia drag on ... the ex-MLB star said Sunday night he believes the WNBA player should "pay the penalty for breaking another country's laws."
Schilling wrote the controversial statement on his Twitter page -- in a response to LeBron James' plea to bring Griner home.
"I know this may seem like a stretch," the 55-year-old said. "But something like 300 million people understand 'OBEY THE F***ING LAW', why is that such a challenge?"
"And why on earth should she NOT pay the penalty for breaking another country's laws?"
Griner has been locked in a cell in Russia since mid-February, after authorities said they found hashish oil in her luggage at an airport in Moscow. At a hearing in the case earlier this month, Griner pled guilty to the charges ... telling a judge at the time, "I didn't want to break the law."
Schilling obviously believes her plea and subsequent statements are justification for her to remain behind bars as long as Russia sees fit.
"She, as far as I know from every quote of hers," Schilling said, "has NEVER denied committing the crime, not once."
The United States government, meanwhile, has classified Griner as "wrongfully detained" and is in the process of negotiating with Russia to bring her home.
Griner is facing a punishment of up to 10 years behind bars following her guilty plea. Another hearing in her case has been scheduled for next week.
Kevin Samuels died as a result of hypertension ... eliminating any possible suspicious circumstances surrounding the 57-year-old's death.
The Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office just released findings into Samuels' death, telling us he died due to hypertension -- high blood pressure. The ME says, "Evidence of hypertension includes a heart whose chambers are thicker than normal."
It appears Samuels was also taking a medication called Atenolol, because the ME notes in their findings that the medication is used to treat hypertension.
Samuels's death is classified as due to natural causes.
TMZ broke the story, Samuels, who was known for his controversial -- and sometimes not-so-appropriate -- dating advice died back in May.
At the time of his death, Samuels was with a mystery woman, and collapsed in his home. We obtained the 911 call the woman placed, and it was clear, she was desperate to help save his life ... performing CPR in order to try to help Samuels.
Social media buzz at one point thought maybe Kevin's death was suspicious, but according to the medical examiner's findings ... that just isn't the case.
At least three people were killed and two others were injured, including a 12-year-old girl, in a shooting at an Indianapolis-area shopping mall on Sunday evening, police said.

A transgender prisoner in New Jersey was transferred to another facility last month after impregnating two inmates at a women’s only prison earlier this year, according to a Saturday report.
Officials moved 27-year-old Demi Minor to Garden State Youth Correctional Facility, a prison for young adults in Burlington County, according to NJ.com. Minor, who is currently serving a 30-year sentence for manslaughter, was previously incarcerated at Edna Mahan Correctional Facility for Women, where the 27-year-old impregnated two fellow inmates after engaging in “consensual sexual relationships.”
Minor allegedly requested a female officer to conduct a strip search, according a July 15 blog post. The request was denied, and Minor recalls crying while complying with commands.
Minor claimed to have come “under attack by young inmates who are immature and just plain ignorant” towards transgender individuals and alleged to have been referred to by guards as “he” and “him” more than 30 times.
Following transfer, Minor was placed in a vulnerable unit in Garden State, New Jersey Department of Correction spokesperson Dan Sperazza told NJ.com. Sperrazza could not comment further on Minor’s housing decisions due to DOC privacy policies, but said that “the department is currently reviewing the policy for housing transgender incarcerated persons with the intention of implementing minor modifications.”
The incidents alleged on Minor’s website, Justice 4 Demi, are currently under investigation, according to NJ.com.
