New details emerged Tuesday in the “Ocean’s 11’’-style heist of a Brink’s armored truck in California that netted up to $150 million in jewels — including that the priceless gems were hijacked at a rest stop.

Last week’s robbery occurred when the high-security vehicle pulled over at the “Flying J’’ travel stop and gas station on its way from one gem show in San Mateo to another in Pasadena outside Los Angeles, authorities said.

That’s when the apparently highly skilled robbers made off with a massive haul that included diamond, sapphire & gold necklaces, as well as a horde of luxury watches.

“They did leave San Mateo on Sunday night [July 11], destined for Los Angeles and the Pasadena Convention Center. And sometime [the next] morning, they were robbed,” said Arnold Duke, president of the International Gem and Jewelry Show in San Mateo.

“There was a large number of Rolex, Cartier & Franck Muller watches. These are luxury watches that sell $10,000 & up.”

Between 30 & 40 percent of the sparkling merchandise in the truck was swiped.

But a former FBI agent, Rick Smith said it’s unlikely any Brink’s worker was involved in the sensational robbery.

“I doubt that a Brinks employee is involved in something like this because it’s so obvious,” he said.

Duke added, “FBI & police investigators, detectives were at our show in Pasadena this weekend interviewing everybody, including my employees, because anybody that was there could potentially be some kind of suspect.”

Conspiracy theorist Alex Jones said Wednesday that he now understands it was irresponsible of him to declare the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre a hoax and that he now believes it was "100% real," a day after the parents of a 6-year-old boy killed in the attack testified about the suffering, death threats and harassment they've endured because of what Jones has trumpeted on his media platforms.

"It was ... especially since I've met the parents. It's 100% real," Jones testified at his trial to determine how much he owes for defaming the parents of a 6-year-old who was among the 20 students and six educators killed in the 2012 attack at the school in Newtown, Connecticut.

But the parents who sued Jones said a day earlier that an apology wouldn't be enough and that the Infowars host needed to be held accountable for repeatedly spreading falsehoods about the attack. They are seeking at least $150 million.

A thief in Delaware stole money from a bank -- and then put it straight back in.

On Saturday morning, Delaware State Police arrested 44-year-old McRoberts Williams after he allegedly demanded $150 from a Wells Fargo Teller, only to immediately go outside and deposit it into his account there via ATM.

According to investigators, the suspect walked into the packed bank wearing camouflage gear with the hood up -- but no mask -- and sporting a noticeable black eye; he approached the 25-year-old clerk and handed her a note which read: "This is a robbery. I need $150."

As the clerk obeyed and counted out the exact amount, he told her "I'm sorry", before walking out with his three-figure haul. She then pressed the emergency distress button.

When police arrived, they didn't have far to look for a suspect matching the description: he was sitting on an exterior staircase not 100 yards from the scene of the heist.

Police still had some detective work to do however; after searching him they found the money had mysteriously disappeared. What they did find on his person however was a Wells Fargo bank card.

Following the clues, investigators soon discovered where he had stashed the swag. Bank records show that immediately after the robbery, he went straight to the ATM at the exterior of the building and deposited the $150 into his account there.

During police interviews, Williams told them he had travelled to Delaware on the exterior of a cargo train, before pulling off the daring hold-up.

Per the probable cause affidavit obtained by The Smoking Gun, he also told them that his mind is currently being controlled by a third party via an implant located somewhere in his body.

Williams was charged with 2nd degree felony robbery, and detained at Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on a $6,000 cash bond.

MINEOLA, N.Y. (AP) — Rapper Nicki Minaj’s mother, Carol Maraj, has filed a $150 million lawsuit against the man who is accused of killing Minaj’s father in a hit-and-run crash last month, an attorney for Maraj said.

Charles Polevich, 70, is accused of striking Robert Maraj, 64, on Long Island on Feb. 12 and then driving off without calling 911. Maraj died at a hospital the next day.

Polevich was arrested on Feb. 17 on charges of leaving the scene of an incident and tampering with physical evidence. He pleaded not guilty and was freed on bail and ordered not to leave New York state.

Newsday reports that Carol Maraj’s lawsuit, filed in Nassau County state Supreme Court earlier this month, claims that Polevich was negligent, reckless and careless when he hit Maraj with his car and allegedly left him at the scene.

“He was not only irresponsible and negligent, but more concerned about running away and hiding than seeking help,” Benjamin Crump, one of the attorneys representing Carol Maraj, said in an Instagram post Friday.

A telephone message was left Sunday with Polevich’s attorney, listed in online court records as Marc Gann of Mineola.

Nicki Minaj, who was born Onika Tanya Maraj, has not made any public statement on her father’s death.

Carol Maraj, the victim’s estranged wife, told Newsday last month that she was “very, very, very happy” about Polevich’s arrest and said all of Maraj’s children “are pleased” that the alleged culprit was caught.

How important is "The Dark Knight Rises" to you? Would you pay $150 to be the first to see Christopher Nolan's conclusion to his Batman trilogy at a midnight showing? Well, scalpers on eBay and Craigslist are hoping you will.

Advanced tickets for "The Dark Knight Rises" went on sale a week ago, and midnight shows quickly filled up, taking away opportunities from fans hoping to be the first to learn the fate of Gotham City and its Dark Knight. Since then, some of those tickets have gone back up for sale, with price tags inflated 80 percent in some cases, ScreenCrush reports.

A quick search on eBay revealed that not only are those reports true, but in some cases, the price has even gone up. The most common price is staying around the $150 mark, with tickets for the "Dark Knight Trilogy" marathon soaring even higher.

But is there something to the ridiculously high price? What makes those early showings so much more valuable than a matinee the following Sunday? There certainly is something to being among the first people to see it, but that gives the ticket-holder little more than bragging rights. The idea of looking forward to a movie now requires that you see it as soon as possible. After waiting four years, scalpers are betting that waiting just a few hours more will be enough to make fans cough up an extra $135 to see "The Dark Knight Rises" sooner.

Many would say that seeing the film as early as possible is the best way to avoid the deluge of spoilers on Twitter and Facebook. There have been a handful of minor spoilers posted online, but for the most part, the story and secrets of "The Dark Knight Rises" have stayed surprisingly unspoiled. The ad campaigns have focused on a few key questions, like whether Bruce Wayne will survive the final movie.

A representative from the online ticket outlet Fandango said the company's standing policy is that any ticket re-sold is declared invalid, so if you are considering purchasing a set of tickets for $300, you might want to consider this. Though the policy would be difficult to enforce, it's something to keep in mind if you're weighing your options.

How much would you be willing to pay to see "The Dark Knight Rises" at midnight on July 20 on an IMAX screen? Leave your responses in the comments below or tweet them via @KPSull.

A Florida judge Friday set a $150,000 bond for George Zimmerman, the neighborhood watch volunteer who shot an unarmed black teenager and touched off a firestorm of controversy about race and the American justice system.

Zimmerman, 28, appeared in court in a dark suit and gray tie, and, in a surprising move, took the stand. There, in a voice verging on meek, he apologized to the family of Trayvon Martin, the 17-year-old he admits he shot -- but only, he says, in self-defense.

"I wanted to say I am sorry for the loss of your son," he said to the parents, who attended the hearing in the central Florida city of Sanford, where the shooting took place. "I did not know how old he was. I thought he was a little bit younger than I am, and I did not know if he was armed or not."

Zimmerman turned himself in to authorities on April 11 after learning he would be charged with second-degree murder in the February incident. Seminole County Circuit Judge Kenneth Lester Jr. set the bond after a sometimes-contentious two-hour hearing in which attorneys for the state repeatedly brought up two incidents from Zimmerman's past. The first was an arrest for assaulting an undercover officer during an underage-drinking crackdown; the second was an injunction filed by a former girlfriend who said Zimmerman struck her.

In the end, Lester decided that the arrest was a "run of the mill" incident in Florida, and that the injunction was "somewhat mild." He granted the bond, with numerous conditions, including an order that Zimmerman wear an electronic global positioning device so that authorities can track his location. Zimmerman also surrendered his passport.

Zimmerman's attorney,Mark O'Mara, argued that his client needed to remain in a secret location due to threats on his life. O'Mara asked Lester if his client could leave the state. The judge told the attorney to see if he could work those details out with law enforcement authorities.

The hearing was also notable for the extensive grilling that O'Mara gave one of the investigators for the state attorney's office, Dale Gilbreath, who helped prepare the probable cause affidavit that was the basis for Zimmerman's arrest.

The affidavit says Zimmerman "confronted" Martin, after which a struggle ensued. In a likely preview of the defense strategy at trial, O'Mara questioned the use of the word "confronted."

"Do you know who started the fight?" he asked the investigator at one point.

"Do I know? No," Gilbreath said.

"Do you have any evidence that supports who may have started the fight?"

"No" Gilbreath said.

12348832881?profile=originalAs you have probably heard by now, rapper Gucci Mane was arrested for battery Friday (April 8).

At the time details were sketchy other than Gucci had pushed a woman from a moving car. Now the Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Dekalb County, Georgia police are confirming the incident started with unwanted sexual advances towards a woman Gucci had just picked up at a mall.

Gucci invited the woman out for breakfast, which she agreed to. At some point an offer of $150.00 is made to the woman if she would stop at a local motel with Mr LaFlare.

When she refused, Gucci booted her out of his car while it was still moving.

The woman was treated at a local hospital for "soreness and pain."

For Gucci this is just the latest in a long string of incidents with the law. The rapper could get his probation revoked and sent back to prison if found guilty.

The days when the Hot Boys ruled the airwaves and packed arenas must seem like a lifetime ago for troubled rapper B.G. Gizzle is currently dealing with legal problems stemming from a 2009 DUI arrest, which he pled guilty to and received two years probation. Then last November B.G., real name Christopher Dorsey was arrested following a traffic stop in New Orleans. During the stop police found three guns, along with loaded magazines and extended clips. Two of the guns had previously been reported stolen. In February 2010 he plead not guilty to those charges, the case is still pending. Now Baby Gangsta's neighbors are suing him for $150,000, claiming he didn't have the proper permits when he shot a video locally. "The Plaintiffs are upstanding individuals in their community who do not wish to be associated with rap music, B.G., Chopper City Records and other defendants associated with the music video "My Hood," the neighbors lawyer said in a statement. Shyrl Patterson Bagneris and John Bagneris filed a lawsuit in the Eastern District Louisiana court alleging the rapper ignored a cease and desist letter. And shot part of the video on their property, with a crew of at least 40 people. The Bagnaris' are requesting at least $150,000 in damages for unjust enrichment, trespass to land and intrusion on seclusion. twitter-5d.gif

When Kanye West recently suggested that every aspiring artist could at least grab a camera and shoot a viral video, he forgot to mention that you still need to have your permits in order first. New Orleans rapper B.G. learned this hard way. He has been hit with a $150,000 lawsuit from his neighbors for apparently shooting part of a video on their property without permission. The video, for a recent track entitled 'My Hood,' was partially shot on the property of Plaintiffs Shyrl and John Bagneris. According to their legal claims, the couple sent a cease and desist order to B.G. and he completely ignored the letter by shooting without proper city permits. B.G. is charged with trespassing on the property with a film crew of over 40 people in addition to a commercial lighting rig and other "heavy duty equipment." "The Plaintiffs are upstanding individuals in their community who do not wish to be associated with rap music, B.G., Chipper City Records and other defendants associated with the music video 'My Hood,'" said their lawyer in a statement. B.G. and Chopper City Records have yet to release a statement on the matter. This lawsuit comes in a long line of legal trouble for B.G. He pled guilty to a DUI in 2009 and received two years of probation before getting arrested on a gun charge when pulled over in New Orleans last November. In February 2010, B.G. pled not guilty to those charges. The case is still pending. Source BoomBox twitter-5d.gif
