Video After The Jump

In this clip, Lord Jamar discussed comments made by Michael Jackson's daughter, Paris Jackson, regarding edited photos of her that either make her look too white or too mixed. Lord Jamar went in on how Michael's kids aren't biologically his. He said for Paris to make that comment shows that she suffers from cognitive dissonance.

lord Jamar and DJ Vlad went on to discuss Michael's overall impact, his unique singing voice, but how he ultimately robbed the world of producing his own children that may have taken his talents to an even higher level.

The letter Tupac Shakur wrote to Madonna ending their relationship has been cleared for auction.

Madonna had attempted to block the sale by suing her former friend, Darlene Lutz, last July to prevent her from profiting from the letter, as well as other personal items, according to the New York Daily News.

However, a judge ruled that the singer had signed a release almost 15 years ago, forfeiting her rights to the belongings.

"(Madonna) knew that throughout her relationship with Lutz, Lutz was in possession of various pieces of (Madonna's) personal property," the judge wrote in his decision. "Yet before this action began, the plaintiff did not make any demand to return her possessions."

"It's a clear cut victory for us," Gotta Have It! auction house co-owner Ed Kosinski said. "She shouldn't have signed a settlement agreement relinquishing the right to all property in Darlene's possession."

It's not clear how long Tupac and Madonna dated.

The NYPD are looking into a possible connection between a shooting involving Tekashi69 and Casanova.

TMZ reports that Casanova, born Caswell Senior, was filming a music video on Thursday, April 19, in Bedford-Stuyvesant, New York, when someone fired ten shots, injuring two members of his entourage. Both men are expected to make a full recovery.

Police are investigating to find out if someone in 6ix9ine's crew is the culprit. This would be the second alleged shooting in three days involving the rival crews.

As we previously reported, there was a scuffle Saturday night at Barclays Center during the Adrien Broner vs. Jessie Vargas boxing match.

There was some pushing and shoving before someone from 69's crew pulled out a gun and fired a shot. Nobody was hit, but police did recover a .32 caliber shell casing at the scene.

The beef between Casanova and Tekashi, real name Daniel Hernandez, has been brewing for months. Both rappers are from Brooklyn and reported members of two separate Bloods gang sets.

What age was you when you got bit by the bug the music bug that is?
I have been surrounded by music since I was born… it runs on both sides from singers to musicians it hit me very early
Who was some of your role models while coming up in the music industry?
Coming up I was exposed to a guy that I will never forget,  he was one of the Head Choir Directors at my church his name was Ricky Linton… his vocals were Ridiculous I mean perfect pitch when he was going over different parts …even when he whistled it was perfect as well,  if I’m not mistaking he worked with Aretha Franklin early on when he was younger,  they’re runs and riffs vocally were very similar.  One of my last conversations I had with him was that I asked him to train me,  He told me yes and I was so excited,  I promised I was going to be a sponge… soaking up all the his techniques.  I shortly found out he was sick,  not to long after he passed and we never got a chance to work together but he was definitely a true role model for me coming up …someone I will never forget!
What made you decide to get in your genre of music?
I have roots in Church and it will always be my foundation… Pop/R&B/Hip Hop and Country is what I connected to when I started my pursuit… So I wanted to leave an Imprint of my own expressing myself through these Genre’s
What's the name of your first single?

Hip Hop like every Genre is always evolving and I personally feel that the balance of what is happening with today styles and the foundation that was laid in the very beginning will come together and create
the future of the Genre
If you could do a collabo with any artist who would it be and why?
Brandy,  Beyonce,  Drake,  Kanye,  Taylor Swift to name a few.  The bodies of work these artist’s have laid is Unprecedented,  they all have took risks expressing themselves and I fill that our chemistry will compliment each other to the fullest so I hope in the near future I will be able to work with all of them at some point.
So how does it  feel to get your music out to the masses?
Truly it is a dream come true… or I should say My Dream meeting my Reality and My Reality meeting my Destiny I am Truly Overwhelmed with just knowing I have the opportunity to present my visions,  my perceptions,  my idea's musically to the world.
Tell us a little bit about your self?
I have a Strong Spiritual background…I’ve always had a love for Art in the form of Creating.  I highly respect and have a love for acting… there is nothing like being captured by a moment for those few seconds taking you hostage (Action/Adventure and Sci-fi, and of course Comedy). I’m laid back but I can be very spontaneous… I wouldn’t call myself a comedian but I have made a lot of people laugh… I am Very Determined,  Disciplined,  strong willed,  I'm not afraid to take a risk for what I believe in.  Basketball is my first choice when it comes to sports… My Jump shot is Crazy… No Rim is safe! I have done a lot of Jobs but all Roads have led back to Music… its who I am.

The beef between Tekashi69 and Casanova appears to be heating up.

TMZ reports that the two camps came face-to-face at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on Saturday, April 21, during the Adrien Broner vs Jessie Vargas fight.

There was some pushing and shoving before someone from 69's crew allegedly pulled out a gun and fired a shot. Luckily, nobody was hit, but police did recover a .32 caliber shell casing at the scene.

According to TMZ, Casanova's team left the arena immediately afterwards... while Tekashi and his entourage decided to stay.

This conflict began back in December when Casanova released the song "Set Trippin," which was widely perceived to be a 69 diss.

During a time when everyone is a rapper, and every rapper packs their verses with lies about a lifestyle they never lived, in hopes to capture your attention and love, we are fortunate to have that rare artist breakthrough and make us think twice about what music rides with us in the morning to work or joins us at the gym in the evening. When every other rapper is telling stories of riches and glamour, Ali is regular guy working in the trenches, and when every other rapper sounds the same, Ali is drawing envy from the artist he is opening for! When you leave your favorite rappers concert, and you can’t help but think about the guy that opened up the show, that’s Ali Cashius Jr.

[Album] @alicashiusjr 'The Barrio Boombox'
Ali began garnering respect as a rapper on the desolate Southwest Side of Detroit. He would battle any rapper at his High School and then sneak into night clubs around the city to battle grown men at the age of 16. Because of his mixed race, he had to learn to clap back quickly at kids who would target his ethnicity. With a father from the war torn country of Yemen, and a mother from Puerto Rico, Ali was constantly questioned about his nationality. Battle rap became less important daily, as Ali grew more frustrated watching his mother struggle with two jobs. With an absent father figure and a mother who was forced to bare the role of provider, Ali was left to come and go as he pleased, roaming the gang and drug infested streets on Detroit’s Southwest side. Losing friends to gang wars and drug deals gone wrong, Ali quickly learned that the place he loved could also be his downfall.
From that moment, he realized he had to use his gift to tell his story and be a voice for the friends he lost. Financial troubles continued to follow Ali and his mother, so he decided to take matters into his own hands, and the traveling began. He moved from Detroit to Atlanta, Baltimore, and eventually Phoenix. With growth comes sacrifice, and moving led Ali to miss the funeral of one of his best friends in Detroit. A three-day Greyhound trip, and Ali arrived back in the city one hour after his friend’s funeral ended. Devastated by loss and frustration, Ali vowed to not return home until he could make his family proud and prove all the people who doubted him wrong.
Since moving out West, Ali Cashius Jr. now has followers around the world who support the movement and new wave.

GILCHRIST COUNTY, Fla. (WFTV) - A vigil was held Friday night for two fallen deputies with the Gilchrist County Sheriff's Office.

"Tonight is about remembering the heroes. It's about loving the families," said Newberry Mayor Jordan Marlow. "So it is hard to fight off the rage, but tonight is about loving who's here in front of us."

A man fired through the window of a restaurant and fatally shot two Florida deputies Thursday afternoon, authorities said.

Gilchrist County Sheriff Bobby Schultz said during a news conference that Sgt. Noel Ramirez, 30, and Deputy Taylor Lindsey, 25, were killed in Trenton.

Schultz said the deputies were getting food at the Ace China restaurant when the shooter walked up to the building and fired at them through a window. Fellow deputies responding to the scene found the shooter dead outside the business.

Schultz said he had nothing to say about the "coward" gunman, who he believes acted alone. He also could not say how the gunman died.

“The world is full of cowards and the world is full of heroes. We need to highlight those heroes and what they gave,” Schultz said.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement later identified the shooter as John Highnote, 59, of Bell.

No other details were released about the gunman and a motive remains unclear.

Schultz described the deputies as "the best of the best."

In this clip, Lord Jamar and DJ Vlad discuss wealth, the power of money, and the image of anti-opulence that many of today's visible billionaires display. Contrastingly, they pointed out how hip-hop plays up the image of wealth through spending power. For Lord Jamar, the need to shop and floss is a matter of "healing" from the lack of having.
