We’re days away from the year 2011, yet ignorance and hate based on a person’s skin color still exists.
A white supremacist group upset that actor Idris Elba, a black man has been cast as Heimdall in the upcoming ‘Thor‘ movie, wants it boycotted reports UK Guardian.
The Council of Conservative Citizens, which opposes interracial marriage and also calls Martin Luther King a "left wing agitator" and Communist has set up a website, boycott-thor.com.
They accuse Marvel Comics of inserting “social engineering into Greek mythology, casting a black man as a Norse deity.” The group also claims the comic giant used “Captain America to attack the Tea Party movement,” in 2010.
Elba, an English actor who is quite familiar to American fans after starring in ’The Wire’, ’Obsessed’, and ‘American Gangster’, thinks the controversy is ridiculous.
“We all know someone of a different ethnic background, we all mix, so it’s great to have a character who happens to be black in the central position,” the actor said earlier this year. “There has been a big debate about it, can a black man play a Nordic character. Thor’s mythical right? Thor has a hammer that flies to him when he clicks his fingers. That’s ok, but the color of my skin is a problem?”
‘Thor’ is being directed by Kenneth Branagh and also stars Natalie Portman and Anthony Hopkins. It’s expected in theaters Summer 2011.
Trav is about to drop his highly anticipated mixtape ‘P.U.S.H.’ very soon.
Here’s a new banger off of it titled “Fly On The Wall”
It’s not everyday people walk into a police station and confess to a murder they committed nearly two decades ago, but that’s just what happened Wednesday night.
Travell Coleman aka G-Dep confessed to murdering a man on October 19, 1993 in Harlem, New York.
“It was just eating away at him,” a police source told The New York Post.
Police say they are sure Dep commited the crime because he knew details only the killer would know.
According to Dep he was riding his bike when he rolled up on 32-year old John Henkel, who he attempted to rob. Henkel resisted and was shot three times.
Dep was once signed to Diddy’s Bad Boy Records and had a hit records with “Special Delivery” and "Let's Get It" in 2001.
Recently though, the rapper has fallen on hard times, battling a reported heroin addiction.
He’s been arrested at least 25 times since 2003 for a variety of crimes including grand larceny and robbery.

These dudes in Russia are wild.
A group of about 40 hooligans meet in a field and then proceed to beat the living sh*t out of each other.
Head stomps, 2-on-1 beatings, knee drops to the ribs, these n*ggas are really going all out.
I have no clue what the fight was all about, but shirtless dudes were clearly the winner.

It happens a lot in the music business. Beats sometimes get passed around to several artist before one buys it.
That’s exactly what happened with Lil Wayne’s new song “6’7” according to producer Bangladesh. We could have been sitting here talking about how T.I. ripped it on his new ‘No Mercy’ album. Instead it dound it's way to Weezy.
“Due to the situation and the circumstances of the Cash Money situation I wasn’t really thinking about Wayne at that moment when I made it. I just knew that the beat was a big track and I couldn’t at the time think of nobody that could swag this like out like that or was worthy enough of this beat really,” Bang told BET.
At around the same time T.I. was working on his new album. Bang decided to send the track over to Gee Robertson, president of the rap division at Atlantic Records.
“I was actually sending the beat to Gee for T.I. I mean not that I think T.I. would sound that good on the beat. They were just looking for a single and somebody said, ‘Man send that over to Gee, T.I. need something.”
I already dealt with T.I., I know how T.I. is, I know he really wouldn’t be rocking this beat right there, so I sent it anyway.” the producer said.
Gee also happened to be a part of Lil Wayne’s management team. As soon as he heard the beat he called Bangladesh back, saying it would be perfect for Weezy instead of TIP.
So despite not having been paid for the ‘A Milli’ beat from Wayne’s ‘Tha Carter III’ album, Bang decided Wayne would be a better choice over T.I. for it.
I have never heard a producer be as critical of a rapper as Bangladesh was regarding T.I. He just has a totally different style than Wayne, but the man is a proven hit maker. I can't see Tip deciding to use the track and not do it justice, but I could be wrong.
Do you guys think T.I. would have done just as good of a job as Wayne?

If you thought Lil Kim had forgotten about her Nicki Minaj, you were wrong.
The Queen Bee went on Hot 97 today and continued taunting Nicki by impersonating her.
Host Angie Martinez asked if the beef would ever end.
“I’m not taking my foot off her neck,” Kim said. She then looked directly into the camera saying, “you started this, I hope she's ready.”
Kimmy Blanco did offer Nicki a way out, a ridiculously expensive one.
“I would do a song with her… for the right price. I’m a hustler - $7 million cuz that’s my favorite number.”
Looks like Nicki better get her rhyme pad out, or Birdman might have to pull out his checkbook. Because that’s the only way Kim is going to ease up on the Harajuku Barbie.
Nicki Minaj’s ‘Pink Friday’ disc maybe getting good reviews in some circles, but Debra Antney isn’t impressed.
Antney, who happens to be Waka Flocka’s mom and Nicki’s former manager, gave Vibe her review of Minaj’s debut cd, and it wasn’t at all flattering.
Is this a case of sour grapes? Perhaps, but Antney has repeatedly said in the past that her split from Nicki was amicable.
So lets check out Antney’s ‘Pink Friday’ review as told to Vibe’s Tracy Garraud.
"It's terrible. I like some stuff, but she went too left. I don't think people were ready for her to come [out with pop]. When I had Nicki, I really wanted her to sing. That's why I took her for training cause Nicki loves singing, but she kept saying to me, 'Deb, I can't do it yet because people won't understand.' And that's why the [rap] mixture was done to introduce them to all of Nicki. I think [Pink Friday] was very disappointing to a lot of her fans. She didn't need a lot of [the] features. That was one of the biggest things like... you gave people so many features, give them you now. Nicki could be so much better because—outside of anything that people say—she's very multi-talented. I really wish that she would learn to be more of an artist.
I didn't particularly care for ["Roman's Revenge"], but when Eminem came in I liked it. He made the song. [Nicki] didn't have to go there with [Lil' Kim]. My views on that is that she came too far to go back that route. And Kim does not even have to go there. There are no comparisons to them. Some things are best left unsaid. The whole things is stupid. I'm very disappointed that she would go that route. 'Cause I know all that she was taught. She don't have to go there with anybody. That was the stuff we always discussed. People had to learn to love Nicki— that's how the door opened up. It wasn't about Kim or Foxy or any of the rest of them. So I was just a little disappointed [by her album], but If she likes it, I love it."
Ouch... what do yall think of Deb's review?

DMX has been sentenced to one year in jail after pleading guilty to felony probation violation.
Judge Christine Mulleneaux told X, “substance abuse issues are at the root of this problem,” according to the Pheonix New Times.
Dark Man reportedly tested positive for cocaine five times between his July 2010 release from Maricopa County jails and his November 18 arrest.
“Your criminal history goes back to 1988. It’s going to continue until you take care of your mental health,” Judge Mulleneaux told the rapper.
The former top selling artist just can’t seem to get it together no matter how many times he is sent to jail. He said he did his best this time, but failed.
“I did make the effort that I could, and I appreciate any help you can give me,” X said prior to sentencing.
As he was lead from the court, DMX reportedly smiled. Probably a smile to hide tears of pain.
