The real "Freeway" Rick Ross is taking Officer Ross aka William Roberts II to court for a second time.
While Ross was incarcerated, Roberts used his name and fake cocaine tales to gain fame. Basically Roberts is rapping about the life that Ross actually lived and served time for.
Ross sued Roberts, Jay-Z, Def Jam Records and Universal Music Group in federal court for trademark violations, unfair competition and misappropriation of his publicity rights.
Ross lost that case, but now has new legal representation in law firm Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP. This time Ross' team will sue on a state level.
“We always knew our case was stronger in the state than it was in the feds,” Ross told BET. “California state law really protects people with their names and their likenesses. So we knew that was stronger inside California than it was in the feds, but we wanted to go the big route first then work our way down.”
Ross regrets his previous life as a drug dealer. He feels like Roberts message is wrong for kids.
“We’re both teaching two different messages," Ross said "He’s teaching my old life: sell drugs, disrespect women, all the things that really have our country in shambles. I’m teaching uplifting values, education, literacy. He’s teaching illiteracy,"
Ross presents his case in court on May 2.

Drummer ?uestlove of the Philadelphia rap band The Roots took to his twitter page to talk about actress Ashley Judd's negative comments regarding rap music.
Judd wrote in her new memoir 'All That Is Bitter and Sweet' that rap is "rape culture."
Here is a portion of Judd's thoughts about rap as written in her book
"Along with other performers, YouthAIDS was supported by rap and hip-hop artists like Snoop Dogg and P. Diddy to spread the message...um, who? Those names were a red flag. As far as I'm concerned, most rap and hip-hop music -- with it's rape culture and insanely abusive lyrics and depictions of girls and women as 'ho's' -- is the contemporary soundtrack of misogyny. I believe that the social construction of gender -- the cultural beliefs and practices that divide the sexes and institutionalize and normalize the unequal treatment of girls and women, privilege the interests of boys and men, and, most nefariously, incessantly sexualize girls and women -- is the root cause of poverty and suffering around the world."
"What I'm being accused of is condemning rap and hip-hop as a whole, and the whole community and when they say community, they mean the fans, and African-Americans, it's become so generalized. My intention was to take a stand to say the elements that are misogynistic and treat girls and women in a hyper-sexualized way are inappropriate."

Fresh off of a three year bid, Prodigy of Mobb Deep is putting in lots of studio time. Thus far we've seen a P solo collaboration with Jim Jones and Lloyd Banks, as well as a Mobb Deep joint with Nas.
The most surprising and out of left field collaboration may be yet to come.
Prodigy reached out to Officer Rick Ross on Twitter and seemed to close a deal for the Queens rapper to join forces with Ross on a track.
Check out the exchange between Ross and P below
Prodigy: @rickyrozay...wuts good g'z? We fuck wit u ...we gotta serve em sum BLACKCOCAINE !!!
Ross: @PRODIGYMOBBDEEP done deal..
Prodigy: @PRODIGYMOBBDEEP <<<<<< cant wait to hear that Colabo >>>>>>>>.@rickyrozay Mr. Miami.
Obviously It's a known fact that 50 Cent and Ross engaged in a well known beef recently. With Mobb Deep's close association with G-Unit, one would wonder why P would reach out to the former correctional officer.
The Unit has squashed previous beefs with The Lox and Cam'Ron, but there has been no sign at all that their beef with Ross' camp is over.
What do you think of Prodigy reaching out to Officer Ross?

Count Bill Cosby as one person who is tired of hearing Donald Trump talk about what he would do if he were president.
The 73-year old comedian was on the Today Show yesterday (April 7). He stunned host Meredith Vieira when he lit into Trump.
"Oh please with Donald Trump, take him home with you because he's full of it," Cosby said, creating an awkward pause before the conversation moved on.
"Somebody kept saying 'are you gonna run?', he jumped... you run or shut up," Cosby said referring to Trump being asked if he would be running for the Oval Office in 2012.
You guys think Trump is at all serious about running for president?

Lil Wayne is seeing the world from an outlook he isn't used to. That of a totally sober man. He is regularly tested for drugs due to the terms of his probation stemming from a New York gun charge.
For a guy who made syrup, weed and liquor a major part of his every day life, the adjustment to sobriety has been smooth he claims.
"It's a big difference I almost jumped in the crowd," Weezy told MTV's Sway after a recent concert. "I'm like 'I'm sober', my sweat tastes different. My sweat used to taste like weed, now I don't know what it is. My eyes big, my eyes all wide ... I threw my glasses. I don’t even need these. I could see everything right now. But yeah man, it’s a great feeling.”
It's not a tough choice, get high and go back to jail or stay sober. Old vices die hard though, Wayne's got three more years to walk a straight line.
What do you think, will Lil Wayne remain sober and avoid going back to jail?
