By all accounts Michael Vick has been a model citizen since being released from federal prison in May 2009 after serving 19 months for dog fighting.

With his remarkable comeback on the football field happening before our eyes, Vick is still trying to make things right off the field.

He helps mentor kids about the harm dog fighting causes. He also spends a lot of his free time working with The Human Society.

As part of his rehabilitation process Vick says he would like to own a dog again.

“I would love to get another dog again in the future. I think it would be a big step in the rehabilitation process for me,” Vick told TheGrio.com. “I think just to have a pet in my household and to show people that I genuinely care, and my love, and my passion for animals.”

Prior to being convicted of dog fighting Vick was one of the nation’s most popular athletes. His # 7 jerseys were big sellers, he had big endorsement deals with Nike and Upper Deck, and a $100 million dollar contract with the Atlanta Falcons. He lost all of that and more. Vick became one of the most hated people on the planet.

He still struggles to come up with answers for why he did it. He thinks it could be a cultural thing.

I hate to use our culture as an excuse, but it is what it is and that’s what happened and that’s the way I thought about it growing up. This is just the way I was brought up. Nobody ever told me that it wasn't right,” he said.

Mike says he’s learned from his mistakes and is a “better person” now. He credits God with helping him turn his life around and hopes people will give him a second chance.

Do you think Vick has reached a point where it would be ok for him to own a dog again?

Superstar singer/songwriter/actor, Ne-Yo is enjoying a tremendously successful career. His three solo albums, 'In My Own Words', 'Because Of You' and 'Year Of The Gentleman' are all certified platinum.

His private life seem to be going great at the moment as well. His girlfriend, Monyetta Shaw is expecting the couple's first child in January 2011.

There is one problem however, that just won't go away. For some reason Ne-yo has been dogged by rumors that he is gay. Despite the fact that there is no proof and the singer has had well publicized relationships with women, the rumor still persists.

Ne-Yo spoke with Fox All Access host Chris Leary recently and addressed the issue.

"There's one rumor that for whatever reason, will not die. I'm convinced that it's just because they really can't figure out anything else to say about me. Which kinda doesn't make any sense because if you really just wanted to talk bad about me you could," the singer says.

"But there's this whole gay thing that keeps following me around. [People think] Anybody that sings and has a penis is gay. So I'm part of that elite squad, according to multiple blog sites and whatnot. I guess it's because I've never shot a person, or talked about shooting a person or had a desire to shoot a person...that I'm gay."

He goes on to talk about rumors being something you just have to deal with as an entertainer.

NYDailyNews Reports A baby boy born 16 weeks prematurely was declared dead by doctors at a hospital in Paraguay only to wake up in time for his funeral wake hours later. Dr. Ernesto Weber, head of pediatric care at the state-run hospital in the capital of Asuncion, said the baby weighed just 17.6 ounces when he was born. "Initially, the baby didn't move, he practically didn't have any respiratory reflexes, nor did we hear a heartbeat and, as a result, we declared a premature fetus of 24 weeks dead," Weber told Reuters Television. The family was given a death certificate and a cardboard box with the baby's name scribbled on the outside which served as a makeshift coffin. But when the family took him from the hospital to prepare him for his funeral, the unbelievable happened. "I opened the box and took the baby out and he cried. I got scared and I said "the baby's crying" ... and then he started moving his arms, his legs and I got scared, we got very scared," said one member of the family, Liliana Alvarenga. Hours after the baby's death had been declared he was found to be alive. The hospital has begun an investigation and the baby is now in a stable condition in an incubator.

Ryan O'neal and his daughter Tatum

LATimes Reports Ryan O'Neal admits that he was so frazzled at Farrah Fawcett's funeral that he hit on his own daughter, Tatum O'Neal. “They had just put the casket in the hearse and I was watching it drive away when a beautiful blonde woman comes up and embraces me," Ryan tells Vanity Fair. "I said to her, 'You have a drink on you? You have a car?' She said, 'Daddy, it's me -- Tatum!' I was just trying to be funny with a strange Swedish woman, and it's my daughter. It's so sick." But the bigger question is whether Ryan's devotion to Farrah in her last days was just an act. His son Redmond thinks it was. "All those crocodile tears! ... My dad's only goal was to make sure he would be in the will,” Redmond tells Vanity Fair. "It was so disgustingly transparent as soon as he found out she was terminal. I consider him a vulture presiding over a carcass. Ryan thought he was going to get everything." Farrah reportedly left almost her entire estate to Redmond. And nothing to Ryan. Both Tatum and her brother Griffin O'Neal also speak to Vanity Fair of Ryan's failures as a father, his rages and his drug use. "My father is afraid of me because I know the truth," Griffin says. "That's the part that absolutely scares him to death." Griffin suggests that the family's problems might have something to do with the fact that Ryan plied his children with drugs -- "My father gave me cocaine when I was 11 and insisted I take it. ... He was violent all the way through my upbringing," says Griffin. "He was a very abusive, narcissistic psychopath. He gets so mad he can't control anything he's doing."
Tatum wrote a book about her childhood, much to her father's annoyance. "No parent wants to hear their kid saying [awful] things about them. ... But what I wrote in the book was true. I've got a battle with drugs, but I'm a strong, independent person, and I fight for myself, and my father and I butt heads. When I was 16 years old, he and Farrah moved in together, and after that I saw my dad periodically, and that took a long time for me to get over." About being hit on by her dad, Tatum sighs and says: "That's our relationship in a nutshell. You make of it what you will." It had been a few years since we'd seen each other, and he was always a ladies' man, a bon vivant." The documentary, "Farrah's Story," about the actress' fight against anal cancer, has been nominated for an Emmy and there will be a tribute to her during the Sept. 20 awards show. Will Ryan and Farrah's friend and documentary producer Alana Stewart appear together? Are they living off Farrah's limelight? What do you think?
