MEMPHIS, Tenn. (Fox13) — Both of the gunmen wanted for the murder of beloved Memphis rapper Young Dolph are now in custody.

The U.S. Marshals said that one of the suspects, 23-year-old Justin Johnson, was captured in Indiana on Tuesday, Jan. 11 around 3 p.m.

According to the Shelby County District Attorney’s Office, the second suspected gunman, Cornelius Smith was also arrested & booked into Shelby County Jail, charged with first-degree murder for the rapper’s death.

Johnson’s arrest comes less than a week after the Marshals identified him as one of the people responsible for the death of Young Dolph, whose real name was Adolph Robert Thornton Jr.

A $15,000 reward for information leading to Johnson’s arrest was announced by the U.S. Marshals Service, who believe that Johnson was one of two people who opened fire on the famous rapper on Nov. 17, 2021 when he was inside of Makeda’s Homemade Butter Cookies on Airways Blvd.

Johnson took to social media shortly before his capture, announcing that he would turn himself in at 201 Poplar, but he never showed up, according to the Shelby County District Attorney’s office.

Johnson faces charges of first-degree murder and theft of property between $10,000 and $60,000. He also has an outstanding warrant for violation of federal release related to a weapons conviction.

Smith, 32, is also charged with first-degree murder, along with attempted first-degree murder, unlawfully carrying or possessing a weapon, employment of a firearm with intent to commit a felony & theft of property between $10,000 & $60,000.

Smith was arrested on Dec. 9 in Southaven on an auto-theft warrant involving the white Mercedes Benz vehicle used in Young Dolph’s murder.

Weirich’s office said that the Mercedes was stolen in a carjacking on Nov. 10 at a gas station on Kirby Rd. Working on information from a tipster who said the car was used in the murder of Young Dolph, police found the car on Nov. 20 in the 1100 block of Bradley St. in Orange Mound, three days after the world-renowned artist was gunned down.

The TikTok community has lost a rising star.

Rory Teasley, a content creator known as @too2pump4tv on the social media platform, was allegedly choked to death on Jan. 6 after an argument with his boyfriend of 10 years, Docquen Jovo Watkins, according to a press release from the Office of the Sheriff Michael J. Bouchard in Oakland County, Mich.

Police alleged that Teasley, 28, and Watkins, 31, got into a dispute while playing Overwatch, a team-based shooter game, at a residence in Pontiac. Officers responded to the scene shortly before midnight over a report of a domestic assault and found Teasley unconscious and not breathing.

According to authorities, Watkins had called 911 and told police that his boyfriend was "sleeping" on the couch after the fight.

Teasley was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The Oakland County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed to E! News that Teasley died of asphyxia & neck compression & his manner of death was ruled as a homicide.

Watkins was arrested on a second-degree murder charge & was arraigned on Jan. 9, according to police. A probable cause conference has been set for Jan. 18, while a preliminary examination is scheduled for Jan. 25.

Online records show that he is currently being held without bond at the Oakland County Jail.

At the time of his death, Teasley had amassed over 220,000 followers on his TikTok account, which featured dance & comedy videos.

The man suspected of gunning down Young Dolph says he's waving the white flag to the authorities over the charges against him -- charges of which he says he's innocent.

23-year-old Justin Johnson took to his social media page Saturday to both profess his innocence, and to also announce he'd be turning himself into the cops. The strange part ... he says he won't be doing so until Monday.

Using his rap IG account, going by the stage name Straight Drop, Johnson writes ... "Turning Myself In Monday @201 I'm Innocent I'll Be Back Sooner Than You Can Blink." Shortly before this message, he posted a video of a local news package that covered his criminal history ... which included an interview with a criminal court judge from Shelby County, TN.

The judge recounts how Johnson had previously carried himself in a separate case, making it seem like he was compliant and, later, a well-behaved prisoner after accepting his fate ... only to be released on probation early. Johnson seems to think the judge's words here are actually vouching for his character, because he wrote ... "Next time post the REAL… BS ass Blogs."

Of course, Johnson's timeline of taking the weekend to himself definitely isn't gonna fly with the feds ... who are actively pursuing him in a manhunt right now, and probably don't want to wait until Monday to have the guy in their custody.

It's unclear where Johnson is at the moment, but he obviously has access to his Instagram page, and presumably his phone too. By the same token, he's also eluded the cops thus far -- so perhaps he really is on his own schedule at this point.

As we reported ... Johnson was announced as the prime suspect in Dolph's killing, and he's currently wanted on a slew of charges -- including first-degree murder.

He also appears to have shot a music video once upon a time at the same home where the authorities retrieved what they believed to be the getaway vehicle used the day Dolph was shot and killed.

We've reached out to the U.S. Marshals Service and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation ... so far, no word back.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WREG) — Justin Johnson, the 23-year-old man wanted in rapper Young Dolph’s murder, has a list of past criminal charges going back to a shooting at a bowling alley in 2017.

The U.S. Marshals Service on Wednesday identified Johnson as a suspect in the killing of 36-year-old Adolph Thornton Jr., better known as Young Dolph.

Police have issued a warrant for Johnson for first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder & theft of property. He also has a warrant for violation of federal supervised release. A $15,000 reward is being offered in Johnson’s capture.

Some sources have reported that Johnson is a Memphis rapper who goes by the name “Straight Drop.”

Many fans are also making that connection, noticing where Straight Droppp shot a video outside of an abandoned home they believe is the same spot where a white Mercedes matching the description as the getaway car in Young Dolph’s death was discovered.

The Federal Bureau of Prisons said that Johnson was sentenced in the Western District of Tennessee and served time in prison from March 11, 2019 until he was released from a Louisiana facility on May 25, 2021 for good conduct.

Court records show that in January 2017, an 18-year-old Johnson was involved in a shooting that injured 3 people at Billy Hardwick’s All-Star Lanes in East Memphis. Police said a fight broke out at the bowling alley just before midnight & Johnson grabbed an assault rifle from outside and fired into a crowd, hitting three people before escaping with his girlfriend.

A month later, police said they found Johnson in a house in Parkway Village with marijuana, an assault rifle & active warrants for the January shooting. A police report listed Johnson as a gang member.

In May of 2017, Johnson pleaded guilty to several charges of aggravated assault, according to court records.

In May 2018, police said the 20-year-old Johnson drove a Dodge Charger into a gated apartment complex near the Memphis airport & refused to leave. Police say they found a loaded gun & marijuana in the car.

Johnson faced drug & weapons charges in that case, but Shelby County court records show the charges were dropped.

A Wisconsin man was arrested & accused of driving a red SUV into a crowd at a Waukesha Christmas parade on the city's Main Street, as revelers watched in horror.

Darrell Brooks, 39, was booked on suspicion of five counts of intentional homicide.

The victims were women aged 79, 71, 52 and 52, and a man, 81, was also killed. 48 people were injured, including 2 children in critical condition.

Brooks, a local rapper who goes by the name Mathboi Fly, was involved in a domestic incident involving a knife before the crash, but it’s not clear who the victim was.

Brooks had fled scene of that domestic incident just as officers were arriving & then got redirected to the parade.

An officer opened fire on the SUV but quickly stopped shooting, believing there were too many people nearby. No was was hit by gunfire.

On Monday, the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s office released a summary of pending charges against Brooks, which include charges of second-degree recklessly endangering safety & felon in possession of a firearm from July 2020.

Jacob Chansley, the self-described "QAnon Shaman" who infamously marched through the U.S. Capitol with a spear & horned helmet during the Jan. 6 riot, was sentenced Wednesday to 41 months in prison for his role in the attack.

It matches the longest sentence handed down to any Jan. 6 participant, following the 41-month sentence handed down last week to Scott Fairlam, a former mixed martial arts fighter who pleaded guilty to assaulting a police officer during the riot.

"What you did here was horrific," Judge Royce Lamberth said during the sentencing hearing. "It is the type of conduct that is so serious that I cannot justify downward departure [from sentencing recommendations]."

Chansley -- who wasn't accused of assaulting law enforcement or destroying property -- pleaded guilty on Sept. 3 to one felony count of unlawfully obstructing an official proceeding.

Chansley, who was almost unrecognizable as he addressed the court in a plain jail-issued dark green jumpsuit, said he was "a good man who broke the law" & implored Judge Lamberth to "judge a tree by its roots" in considering his sentence. "I am in no way, shape, or form a violent criminal. I am not an insurrectionist. I am certainly not a domestic terrorist," he said. "I hope that you see my heart."

"I was wrong for entering the Capitol. I have no excuse -- no excuse whatsoever," Chansley said. "In retrospect, I'd do everything differently on Jan. 6 … I would try with all my heart and soul to stop people."

"I think the hardest part about this is that I know that I'm to blame," he added. "I hope that you see my remorse is genuine."

UFC lightweight fighter Luis Pena has been arrested for the second time in five months.

Pena was taken into custody on Saturday in Deerfield Beach, Florida, on charges of battery causing bodily harm & battery domestic violence. He is being held on $1,000 bond at the Broward County Detention Center.

Deerfield Beach deputies responded to a domestic disturbance call at about 12:34 a.m. Saturday.

"On scene, deputies made contact with multiple subjects & Luis Antonio Pena was later detained & taken into custody."

Pena, 28, was arrested in June on charges of robbery by sudden snatching, battery & criminal mischief after a fight with his girlfriend.

The robbery by sudden snatching charge has been dropped, but Pena is still facing charges of battery & criminal mischief in Florida's Palm Beach County. Both of those charges are misdemeanors & Pena has a court date scheduled for Oct. 28. He has pleaded not guilty to both charges.

On Aug. 30, Pena's girlfriend filed an affidavit in the June case requesting the charges be dismissed & that she does not desire the case be prosecuted any further.

A popular TikTok star died from his injuries days after a man opened fire inside a Southern California movie theater during a screening of "The Forever Purge."

Anthony Barajas, 19, was the second victim killed in Monday's shooting. Corona police previously identified the first victim as Rylee Goodrich, 18.

Authorities said Barajas & Goodrich were at the Regal Edwards Theatre in Corona. Workers cleaning up the theater after the movie ended discovered two people had been shot in the head.

Goodrich was pronounced dead & Barajas was taken to the hospital and placed on life support. Corona police said Barajas died early Saturday morning.

Joseph Jimenez, 20, was arrested in connection with the shooting. He was booked earlier this week on suspicion of murder, attempted murder & robbery but prosecutors on Friday filed a special circumstance murder charge.

Hestrin said the special circumstance charge makes Jimenez eligible for the death penalty if prosecutors choose to seek that punishment at trial.

A judge on Friday ordered Jimenez to be held without bail. His arraignment was delayed until Thursday at the request of the defense. Prosecutors said the shooting appears to be "random & unprovoked."

Barajas was known online as "itsanthonymichael" & has nearly a million followers on TikTok and more than 50,000 on Instagram.

UFC fighter Luis Pena has been arrested on charges of robbery & assault.

Pena was taken into custody Friday by the Coral Springs (Florida) Police Department on three counts: robbery by sudden snatching, battery & criminal mischief. As of Saturday evening, he was being held at the Broward County Detention Center on a hold from Palm Beach County.

Coral Springs PD spokesperson Christian Swinson confirmed that Pena was apprehended by the law enforcement agency Friday after a warrant for Pena's arrest was called in from an outside jurisdiction. After getting a tip that Pena was in Coral Springs, officers made contact with the MMA fighter, confirmed his identity & brought him in.

In Florida, robbery by sudden snatching is a potential felony.

On Wednesday, Pena tweeted that he has had "serious mental health issues" his entire life & had "finally gained the strength to get & accept the help I've needed for a long time."

Hunter Campbell, the UFC's executive vice president & chief business officer, told ESPN that the promotion is looking into the situation. He said the UFC has been aware that Pena has been going through mental health and substance issues & the promotion will not book him in a fight until it finds out more information.

Pena, 27, last fought for the UFC in April, beating Alexander Munoz. The lightweight & featherweight fighter was suspended 4.5 months by the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) for a positive marijuana test last June. Pena (9-3) sports a 5-3 UFC record & is an alum of "The Ultimate Fighter." He is also known by his nickname "Violent Bob Ross" due to his passing resemblance to the famous late painter.

Miya Ponsetto now has a civil lawsuit on her hands -- this on top of the criminal charges she's already facing -- for her infamous "SoHo Karen" hotel confrontation.

Keyon Harrold & his family are suing Miya claiming she falsely accused his teenage son of stealing her phone, & then proceeded to pounce on the kid ... much of which was captured on cameras.

According to the docs, obtained by TMZ, the Harrolds say what happened to their son was blatant racial profiling & they're now alleging assault/battery, false imprisonment, infliction of emotional distress & other loss on behalf of their son ... whom they say was emotionally scarred by the incident & incurred medical expenses.

The family is also suing the Arlo Hotel -- where this nasty face-off went down -- claiming it failed to provide a safe environment for guests ... while also hiring crappy staff who the Harrolds say didn't do a good job in de-escalating when Miya went after their son.

You'll recall ... what appeared to be a hotel supervisor actually asked Keyon Jr. to hand over his phone for inspection when Miya started hurling the baseless accusations -- which his dad was flabbergasted about at the time the original video was posted.

Of course, Miya has since been arrested & criminally charged over this. Once her identity became known, we learned she'd been arrested for multiple other incidents in 2020.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — A California serial killer known as the “I-5 Strangler” in the 1970s and 1980s has been killed in the prison where he was serving multiple life sentences, state correctional officials said Monday.

A correctional officer doing rounds spotted Roger Reece Kibbe, 81, unresponsive in his cell at Mule Creek State Prison southeast of Sacramento shortly after midnight Sunday, officials said. They said they are investigating his death as a homicide.

His cellmate, Jason Budrow, was standing nearby, officials said. Kibbe was taken to a prison health care facility and pronounced dead less than 45 minutes later. Amador County’s chief coroner, sheriff’s Sgt. P. Weart, said he couldn’t give details on the death, citing the ongoing investigation.

Kibbe, a former suburban Sacramento furniture maker whose brother was a law enforcement officer, was initially convicted in 1991 of strangling 17-year-old Darcine Frackenpohl, who had run away from her home in Seattle.

Her nearly nude body was found by a jogger west of South Lake Tahoe below Echo Summit in September 1987, two to three weeks after she was killed. Her pink dress was discovered about 1,000 feet from the body.

Investigators at the time said Kibbe was also a suspect in six other killings believed linked to the ″I-5 Strangler,″ whose trademark was cutting his victims’ clothing in odd patterns. Several took place in the Sacramento and Stockton areas along Interstate 5.

Prosecutors then were unable to file charges in those cases, and he was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison for Frackenpohl’s death.
