Jay-Z is worth $420 million dollars according to Forbes. No doubt he's worked hard for it. The question is, when you're that wealthy do you have an obligation to give back to those less fortunate? Or at the very least break off a chunk of cash for your own charity?

Those are questions Jay-Z is probably thinking about today after The Daily published a report claiming the superstar rapper made $63 million dollars in 2010, but only gave $6,431 to his own charity. The Daily came up with those numbers by examining tax records for the Shawn Carter Scholarship Fund.

Hov's wife, Beyonce, reportedly made $87 million dollars that same year, but did not donate any money at all to the Foundation.

According to the report, the average American gives about 3.5 percent of their income to charity. Jay-Z gave about 0.01 percent of his estimated income to his own charity in 2010.

12349196073?profile=original

The Foundation was established in 2003 by Jay and his mother, Gloria Carter. According to it's mission statement "Shawn Carter Scholars are studying at nearly 100 institutions of higher learning throughout the nation." Scholarships awarded help students with "the costs of books and lab fees, food, travel and other self-care expenses." But where exactly is the money to fund these endeavors coming from if Jay-Z is contributing so little?

Hov's representative, Jana Fleishman, told The Daily that the rapper contributes in other ways.

Jay, along with his family, provided office support, overhead support, [mother] Mrs. Gloria Carter’s 100% effort and time, computers, FedEx expenses, accounting, and treasury function support. This was at no cost to the charity,” Fleishman said.

The Daily noted that tax records show the charity only had to pay $1,209 for office expenses, $1,401 for telephone, and $4,696 in other expenses in 2010.

Fleishman also said that in 2011 Jay-Z helped raise $1.25 million for the charity at its Carnival at Pier 54 event. The Daily couldn't verify those numbers because tax records for 2011 are not yet available.

To be fair to Hov he is playing two Carnegie Hall concerts for free (the first was last night, the second is tonight). Proceeds are being spit between the United Way of New York City and The Shawn Carter Scholarship Foundation, but it's not known exactly how much money that will translate into for the foundation.

Common - Canada Dry Freestyle [Video]

Video After The Jump

Common displays the skills that show why he's going to be a problem for Drake in their war of words. The veteran Chicago rhyme spitta was in Atlanta recently for a Q and A session with fans when he was asked to freestyle.

With music from his hit record "The Light" as the backdrop, Common did his thing coming off the top of the dome encorporating words that are written on cards being held up the event's host. Of course the rhyme wouldn't have been complete without him dropping a Canada Dry line.

Audio After The Jump

French Montana hit up the Hot 97 show today to chop it up with Angie Martinez. He talked about the upcoming NY Giants "Shot Caller" remix, turning down a deal with G.O.O.D Music to sign with Bad Boy, meeting Rihanna and his appearance on the record "Stay Schemin" that took the Drake vs. Common beef up a notch.

Angie asked French about Drake's verse on "Stay Schemin" getting at Common and the Chicago rapper's immediate reply.

"With them you gotta look at it like it's hip hop, it's competition, it's good for the music," French said. "I think Drake wanna fight. He said he can't wait to run into him."

Video After The Jump

Rihanna is back with a new video for a song off of her 'Loud' album.

This one is trippy and sure to get people talking, but that's exactly the idea.

Reporters with balls-and-gags in their mouths, walking a guy on a leash who urinates on a fire hydrant? It's all part of Rihanna's sadomasochistic sexual fantasies in this video.

Check it out below.

Forget all the talk about Wiz Khalifa and Amber Rose... we're off that.

Amber looks like she's got her eyes on the oh so sexy video vixen Rosa Acosta.

The two arrived at Beso Restaurant in West Hollywood last night in separate vehicles, but left together only after locking lips in front of the cameras.

Now listen all you doubters, don't ruin my fantasy. If I choose to believe these two beautiful women are getting it on between the sheets, then let me enjoy that fantasy.

Yeah I know Amber Rose is filming a new reality show called 'Behind Her Shades', and of course this is great publicity.

But dammit that was real, wasn't it?

Make a sex tape ladies so we know it's official.

Videos After The Jump

End of the year lists are always a mixed bag. It’s generally somebody telling you who they think is the best singer, best actor, or who made the best album or movie.

But, today the fans will have their say and vote for who the “Top Producer Of 2010” is.

First we’ll take a look at the men behind the boards who had the biggest impact for the year, then vote to decide the top choice.

Alex Da Kid
This UK producer put his stamp on several of the biggest hits in 2010. Including “Love The Way You Lie” by Eminem, B.o.B’s “Airplanes” and Nicki Minaj’s “Massive Attack”

Lex Luger
Lex literally had speakers going hammer from coast to coast. Dude banged out Waka Flocka’s “Hard In The Paint”, Officer Ross’ “B.M.F”, Fabolous’ “Lights Out (I Don’t See Nobody)”

Boi 1da
This kid is becoming a mainstay on top of the charts. With songs by Eminem “Not Afraid”, Drake’s “Over”, Bun B’s “Put It Down” and Soulja Boy’s “Speakers Going Hammer”

Swizz Beatz
Of course you can never exclude Swizz Beatz from this category. He’s one of the hardest working men in the business. Swizzy was behind the boards on several hits this year. Drake’s “Fancy”, “On To The Next One” by Jay-Z and “Gucci Time” by Gucci Mane.

Kanye West
The Louis Vuitton Don has been widely praised for his work on his album ‘My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.’ Stand out tracks include “Power” co-produced by S1, “Runaway”, “Monster” and “All Of The Lights”

J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League
The Tampa, Florida trio was very busy this year producing for artists all over the country. Standout tracks included Bun B’s “Trillionaire”, Lloyd Banks’ “I Don’t Deserve You”, Officer Ross’ “Aston Martin Music” and Lil Wayne’s “Knockout”

Cardiak
Big things are probably on the horizon for this producer after his steller work on Lloyd Banks’ ‘The Hunger For More 2’ album, as well as his work with Meek Mill and Mike Knox. Bangers include “Start It Up”, Take Em To War” and “Unexplainable”. All by Lloyd Banks.

Drumma Boy

One of the south’s premier producers. Drumma Boy did his thing in 2010. Standouts include “Lose My Mind” Young Jeezy, “Life Goes On” 8-Ball & MJG and a large part of the production work on Gucci Mane’s ‘Burr Print’ mixtapes.

DJ Khalil
People are starting to recognize just how good Khalil is. ½ of the group Self Scientific, he is also part of Dr Dre’s production team. Standout 2010 tracks include “Kush” Dr Dre, “Def Jammable” Redman, “Talking 2 Myself” and “Won’t Back Down” Eminem

Ok, there are your contenders, now place your votes!

Kendrick Lamar is a name you should get familiar with because you will be hearing a lot from him in the upcoming months.

Ashley Outrageous caught up with the West Coast rhyme spitter recently. Due to scheduling conflicts (she’s on the East Coast), the two had to chop it up via iChat.

As a lot of you probably have heard, Dr Dre mentioned recently that he really wanted to work with Kendrick. Soon after a picture surfaced of the two of them in the studio. What you had not heard or read until now, is confirmation of what they actually worked on together.

We’re basically just trying to finish up this Detox album, putting the last finishing touches on that. It’s a privilege and honor for him to even bring me out on the last end. Because I know for a fact that I’m on the back end of the last touches of the album, it should be a go,” Kendrick said.

Now that the “Kush” single and video have been released, we’re closer to getting the ‘Detox’ album than ever. So you know Dre sees something special in Kendrick.

Others are taking notice of him as well.

The Compton rapper just wrapped up recording sessions with Roc Nation’s J. Cole.

That’s a good dude, he reached out and I’ve always been a fan of his music. We got in the studio and made some magic happen. All I can tell you is that it might be more than one or two songs,” Kendrick said, hinting at a possible mixtape or EP with Cole.

One thing Kendrick made clear during the interview is that he is not a typical rapper. Despite living in an area known for a lot of gang activity, he’s never been in a gang himself, and he doesn’t smoke the sticky icky.

My whole thing is I don’t want to base my stuff on a stereotype, or typical L.A. artist based around the gang culture. That’s something we’re all familiar with, but there’s other elements and the way [certain] people were raised was different.,” he said “There’s so much negative energy around Compton, California, you don’t ever see no positive light. So when I do my music and people hear that it’s somewhat of a positive light, they embrace it.”

Check the rest of the interview out below as Kendrick talks about possibly becoming a part of XXL’s 2011 Freshman class and his group Black Hippy.
