Dark Man X is headed back to jail again for six months.

This time for violating terms of his probation by testing positive for drugs.

During the hearing a rep for Dr. Drew Pinsky of the Pasadena Recovery Center and MTV's "Celebrity Rehab" series, asked for permission to treat DMX at his facility in lieu of jail.

The judge seemed open to the idea, but said something like that would have to be approved by California court officials first.

According to MTV UK, Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio said : “Rappers seem to go to jail quite frequently. Why is he treated different, because he's DMX and made some movies? If he stays in the jail long enough I'll decide whether or not to put him in the drug prevention education program."

The judge also ordered DMX undergo a mental health evaluation.

(AllHipHop News) A promotional billboard for Atlanta rapper T.I.’s AKOO clothing brand has encountered less than positive reactionamong residents in Newark, New Jersey.

The billboard, which is prominently displayed on the corner ofMarket and Washington Streets, features a woman knelt down in front of a
guy whose jeans are unbuckled with his underwear exposed and the
woman’s hands grabbing his jeans.

Those noticing theadvertisement did not hesitate in expressing their disdain as they
deemed it “offensive.”

Founded by T.I. and fellow Grand Hustle Entertainment co-founderJason Geter, AKOO offers various types of clothing that include blue
jeans, jackets and shirts.

The clothing brand’s name is anacronym that stands for A King of One’s Self.

Newark major CoryBooker echoed the concerns of onlookers over the suggestive
advertisement while vowing to take a stand against questionable images
that are present in his city.

“So often when I am out in the community I see kids wearingtheir pants too low and others using inappropriate language in public,”
Booker said in a statement. “I will work with my city council to see if
we can address it so we don’t see these types of advertisements
displayed in our city in the near future.”

News of the controversy triggered an immediate reaction fromAKOO, which issued a statement on the controversy and criticism
surrounding the billboard.

“The AKOO brand has always aimed to inspire individualism andcreativity. Our advertising campaign was not created to offend or insult
anyone but to simply provoke dialogue and thought regarding male/female
sexuality within urban culture,” the company said as it alluded to
exposing more sides of the brand in future promotions.

“We hopethat as more of the campaign is debuted, people will see the
multifaceted personality of AKOO.”

Despite AKOO’s statement, the company attempt was not enough tosay Newark City Council President Mildred Crump, who feels the AKOO
billboard is an example of a lack of regard over the impact of images
that paint a negative picture of the city.

“I’m so sick of people seeing Newark as a place where they cando whatever they want,” she said. “They think they can put it in a Black
community and nobody is going to say or do anything,”

Ne-Yo ran into a little bit of trouble over the weekend in Oslo, Norway.

According to various reports, Ne-Yo and his crew were having dinner at Emil & Samuel following a concert. The group was having a good time drinking and partying when a patron at the restaurant grabbed a female in the entourage.

That's when things spiraled out of control. A bus boy somehow also became involved after walking over. He was allegedly knocked unconscious after being punched in the face by an unknown person in the crew.

Ne-Yo did not throw a punch or get involved in the scuffle.

After leaving the restaurant, Ne-yo and his associates were detained and searched by Oslo police.

"All in all this is an unfortunate situation involving the artist, Emil & Samuel and the concert management," said the owner of Emil & Samuel.

Expect a lawsuit or two to pop up in the near future.

A devastating earthquake struck the island of Haiti around 5 p.m. yesterday [January 12]. Haitian-born rapper Wyclef Jean, who has led many efforts in the country before, released a statement this morning to discuss conditions on the Caribbean nation and what Americans need to do to support its people in the aftermath of this catastrophe.“Haiti faced a natural disaster of unprecedented proportion, an earthquake unlike anything the country has ever experienced,” he said. “The magnitude 7.0 earthquake—and several very strong aftershocks—struck only 10 miles from Port-au-Prince. I cannot stress enough what a human disaster this is, and idle hands will only make this tragedy worse. The over 2 million people in Port-au-Prince tonight face catastrophe alone. We must act now. President Obama has already said that the U.S. stands ‘ready to assist’ the Haitian people. The U.S. Military is the only group trained and prepared to offer that assistance immediately. They must do so as soon as possible. The international community must also rise to the occasion and help the Haitian people in every way possible.”Wyclef is encouraging people to donate to the Yele Haiti Earthquake Fund. Donations can be made by visiting the official Web site for the relief fund, Yele.org, or by sending “Yele” in a text message to 501501, which will automatically donate $5 on your behalf (the charge will appear on your cell phone bill). —Brooklyne GipsonWatch Wyclef speak on the catastrophe on CNN below

Oprah Winfrey Show Coming To An End in 2011

Video After The Jump Wall Street Journal Reports Oprah Winfrey plans to end her syndicated television show in September 2011 as she turns her attention to a new cable-television channel she plans to launch with Discovery Communications Inc. Ms. Winfrey told her staff of her decision on Thursday, according to a person familiar with the matter. She plans to make an official announcement Friday morning on her talk show, according to a spokeswoman for Ms. Winfrey's Chicago-based Harpo Inc. The move is a big blow to the syndicated television market in which Ms. Winfrey has long been a juggernaut. "The Oprah Winfrey Show," launched in syndication in 1986, averaged 6.6 million viewers in the week ended Nov. 8, according to Nielsen Co. Local TV stations, which use Ms. Winfrey to anchor daytime hours, could smart from her move. Even as advertisers have cut budgets in the past year, Ms. Winfrey's show has been among the few whose rates have held steady, according to one ad buyer. "In our market, she does extremely well and always has," said Barry Smith, director of programming and creative services for KFMB-TV, a CBS affiliate in San Diego, Calif., that is owned by Midwest Television Inc. "It's going to be a task" to replace her, Mr. Smith added. Ms. Winfrey's decision also represents a hit to CBS Corp., which distributes her show in syndication. "We look forward to working with her for the next several years, and hopefully afterwards as well," CBS said.

The loss of Ms. Winfrey's show will be missed in particular by the book publishing industry. "It's a blow," said Lorraine Shanley, a partner in the consulting firm Market Partners International Inc., who earlier this week watched former Alaska governor and Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin promote her book on Ms. Winfrey's show. "Oprah Winfrey has supported many authors, and her book club has had a huge impact on America's reading habits," added Ms. Shanley. "She made Faulkner a best seller again. She also promoted an eclectic group of authors and created publishing successes for many commercial writers." "If it is the end of her daily talk show, we probably won't see something else to match its overall potential impact on book sales in the broadcast arena any time soon," said Stuart Applebaum, a spokesman for Bertelsmann AG's Random House publishing arm. "She has an integrity and connectivity to her viewership that is unmatched by any other television broadcast personality. Happily she enjoys reading books and wants to persuade her viewership to enjoy them as much as she does. It's not a characteristic shared by any other TV personalities with her persuasiveness." Ms. Winfrey is likely to turn her attention to her new television network, OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network, which she announced with Discovery Communications in January 2008. The new channel is structured as a 50-50 joint venture between Ms. Winfrey and the cable programmer, which will replace its little-watched Discovery Health channel with the new offering. "I will be involved in every single element of programming," Ms. Winfrey said at the time. Since then, the network's launch has been delayed. It is now expected to launch in January of 2011, according to a person familiar with the matter. Ms. Winfrey and the network also expect to announce some plans for the new network in coming weeks, the person said. Earlier this month, OWN named Lisa Erspamer, a veteran producer at Harpo, as its chief creative officer. Ms. Erspamer, a co-executive producer of "The Oprah Winfrey Show" since 2006, will be based at OWN's Los Angeles headquarters, according to a press release. In January, OWN hired former MTV president Christina Norman as chief executive. She took over from Tom Freston, a former Viacom CEO and MTV veteran who has served as a consultant for the network, according to people familiar with the situation.

Sporting News Reports LAS VEGASManny Pacquiao's speed and power were way too much for Miguel Cotto's heart. Pacquiao put on yet another dominating performance Saturday night, knocking down Cotto twice and turning his face into a bloody mess before finally stopping him at 55 seconds of the 12th round. The Filipino star used his blazing speed and power from both hands to win his seventh title in seven weight classes and cement his stature as the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world. Cotto took such a beating that his face was a river of red from the fury of Pacquiao's punches, but he refused to quit even as his corner tried to throw in the towel after the 11th round. "I didn't know from where the punches were coming," Cotto said. The fight was billed as a 145-pound classic, and in the early rounds it didn't disappoint. The two went after each other with a vengeance and Cotto more than held his own as they traded punches in the center of the ring before a roaring sellout crowd at the MGM Grand arena. Pacquiao dropped Cotto with a right hand early in the third round, but he wasn't badly hurt and came back to finish the round strong. But after Pacquiao put Cotto on the canvas with a big left hand late in the fourth round, the Puerto Rican was never the same again. "Our plan was not to hurry, but to take our time," Pacquiao said. "It was a hard fight tonight and I needed time to test his power." Cotto's face was marked early and he was bleeding midway through the fight as Pacquiao kept bouncing around and throwing punches in his unorthodox southpaw style. He tried to keep taking the fight to Pacquiao, but by then his punches had lost their sting and his only real chance was to land a big punch from nowhere. "He hit harder than we expected and he was a lot stronger than we expected," Cotto's trainer, Joe Santiago, said. Cotto fought gamely, but in the later rounds he was just trying to survive as blood flowed down his face and Pacquiao came after him relentlessly. Santiago tried to stop the fight after the 11th round, but Cotto went back out to take even more punishment before a final flurry along the ropes prompted referee Kenny Bayless to end it. Cotto's wife and child, who were at ringside, left after the ninth round, unable to watch the beating any longer. They later accompanied him to a local hospital for a post-fight examination. "My health comes first. I just want to make sure I'm fine, but I feel great. I'm swollen but that's all," Cotto said. His face swollen, Cotto was bleeding from his nose and his cuts, and he simply couldn't stop Pacquiao from bouncing inside and throwing both hands at will. "Manny Pacquiao is one of the best boxers I ever fought," Cotto said. Pacquiao, coming off of spectacular wins over Oscar De La Hoya and Ricky Hatton, added another one against Cotto, who had lost only once and held the WBO version of the welterweight title. Pacquiao did it in his trademark way, throwing punches in flurries and from all angles until Cotto began to slow down. Then he pursued him nonstop until the end. The fight likely will set up an even bigger one against Floyd Mayweather Jr., and many in crowd were already chanting, "We want Floyd! We want Floyd." "I want to see him fight Mayweather," trainer Freddie Roach said. Mayweather may have second thoughts after Pacquiao did what no fighter has done before — win a belt in a seventh weight class. More impressive, though, is how he has fought, dismantling opponents despite moving up consistently from 106 pounds to the 144 he weighed for the fight. The welterweight ranks will be the last ones Pacquiao conquers, though. "This is the last weight division for me," Pacquiao said. "It's history for me and more importantly a Filipino did it." He was so dominant in the later rounds that Cotto was fighting backward most of the way, simply trying to survive. Pacquiao was credited with landing almost twice as many punches — 336-172 — as Cotto. "I knew when Cotto started backing up, the fight was over," Roach said. Pacquiao earned a minimum $13 million, while Cotto got $7 million. Pacquiao was favored, largely off his last two performances in which he forced De La Hoya to quit on his stool and then knocked out Hatton with a huge left hook in the second round. Some in boxing, including Roach, thought Cotto had been slowed by his devastating loss last year to Antonio Margarito and would be further slowed by having to come in 2 pounds lower than his normal weight. That wasn't the case early in the fight, with Cotto winning the first round and fighting well. Once he was knocked down by a big left hand late in the fourth round, though, he slowed noticeably.
