Entrepreneur Network partner Kelsey Humphreys chats with rapper, entrepreneur Fabolous about his eight keys to sustained success.

Kelsey: Talk about your social media brand. What to post. What not to post.

Fab: I mix all of it up. My social media tag is 'MyFabolousLife,' so I kinda try to show what I do in my daily life. I show people what I'm doing. The things that I'm involved in. Advertise whatever I'm doing as well. My following came from me just doing that.

Kelsey: How do you keep track of your ideas? How do you know if something is a good idea or bad idea? On the creative side of things.

Fab: On the creative side, you just gotta shoot your shot kinda.

Kelsey: Blood's Thicker, your new fashion line. How did that come about? What was the inspiration?

Fab: Blood's Thicker, it was a merchandise line. It comes from blood's thicker than water, which is a line that plays on the family. That's where that came from and I kinda started using it as we're a merchandise line. I kinda looked at my fans as family.

Recently, I put out these series of mixtapes called Summertime Shootout. The artwork for the cover was a design that was played off of pop art of Roy Lichtenstein. We took it and made our own version of it and people gravitated to it and loved it. We ended up putting it on shirts. And people wanted the shirts and whatever we would put it on.

Fabolous also talked about doing pop-up merch shows in his hometown on Brooklyn, New York, making fans a part of the show, his first record deal, DJ Clue and more.

Twenty years ago today we lost one of the greatest emcees to ever live. The Notorious B.I.G., born Christopher Wallace, was just 24-years old when an unknown assailant shot him to death in Los Angeles.

The Brooklyn, New York native had not even reached his peak, yet he lyrically stood tall over his counterparts.

73792684?profile=original

Both of his solo albums, "Ready to Die" (1994) and "Life After Death" (1997) are widely considered to be classics.

Biggie also introduced the world to Lil Kim and Lil Cease as part of his group Junior M.A.F.I.A. They released one album in 1995 titled "Conspiracy," which spawned the hit songs "Player's Anthem" and "Get Money."

Wherever you're at, pop in a Biggie Smalls CD and raise a toast to a true legend of hip hop. May he rest in peace.

(Orlando Sentinel) There are 50 dead and 53 more injured in the Orlando nightclub shooting, and Florida is under a state of emergency after Sunday morning's terrorism attack.

This is the deadliest mass shooting in the U.S. in at least 30 years.

U.S. Rep. Alan Grayson, D-Orlando, confirmed the gunman's identity as 29-year-old Omar Mateen of Port St. Lucie, calling the attack a "hate crime" because the shooting happened at a gay club.

Omar Mateen identified as shooter in Orlando club massacre

A gunman took scores of people hostage overnight inside the nightclub between 2:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m.; about 42 people were taken to area hospitals, Mina said.

Officers killed the gunman, who has not been identified, in a shoot out and referred to him as a "lone wolf." He was carrying an assault rifle, a handgun and was possibly wearing an explosive "device." The Orange County Sheriff's Office hazardous device team is now searching the area.

About 30 people were "saved during the rescue," Mina said. About 320 people were in the club when the hostage situation unfolded.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation is leading the investigation. Agent Ron Hopper said they cannot rule this out as an act of domestic terrorism and that the suspect, who is not from Orlando, may have leanings toward extreme Islamic ideologies.

HANDOUT EDITORIAL USE ONLY/NO SALES

Gov. Rick Scott is on his way to Orlando, his office said this morning. Scott has been in touch with local law enforcement and the FBI about the shootings.

"Tonight our community witnessed or experienced a very horrific crime," Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer told media near the scene Sunday morning. "Many lives were lost, and many more individuals were impacted by witnessing the crime."

Authorities said there is no indication of future attacks in Florida or across the nation.

Mina said the situation is not related to a separate shooting Friday inside The Plaza Live theater in Orlando, where a man opened fire, killing former NBC's "The Voice" contestant Christina Grimmie and himself.

Some victims of the mass shooting were transported to Orlando Health, which established a family information center early this morning, asking family members to go to at 52 West Underwood St.

Several family members stood outside the North entrance of ORMC awaiting news and trying to find people still missing.

?m=02&d=20160612&t=2&i=1140968989&w=&fh=&fw=&ll=644&pl=429&sq=&r=LYNXNPEC5B0D2

Kenneth Melendez and his friends were at the club when the shooting happened. Four of his friends were shot and were at ORMC, he said.

"It's just something that you see in the movies but never think would happen to you," he said.

"At first, when I heard the shots I thought it was part of the music, but then we realized it was really happening. I started running and saw someone bleeding from the arm and I was like wow this is really happening and I kept running."

He said he went to Pulse often because it was a "safe environment where you could express yourself ... Not anymore."

Some family members standing outside ORMC said that certain floors were on lockdown and only immediate families of shooting victims could get in.

Florida Hospital wouldn't confirm if any patients have been transported there this morning, but said they can check on names for families.

In the early morning, dozens of emergency vehicles surrounded the chaotic scene at the club at 1912 S. Orange Ave. after the 2 a.m. shooting and rescue squads were transporting multiple victims to area hospitals.

Witnesses said they heard at least 40 shots fired inside the club.

At 5 a.m. authorities used an explosive device to distract the gunman, then authorities plowed through the club with a vehicle.

Police reported just before 6 a.m. that the shooter inside the club was dead. Mina said his officers exchanged gunfire with the suspect in two shootings. Nine officers were involved in the shooting and one sustained an injury to his head and was saved by his helmet.

Afterward, the Orlando Fire Department called for its bomb squad and hazardous material team to the scene after 3 a.m. Police K-9 dogs are searching the area around nearby Orlando Regional Medical Center with an armed deputy in head-to-toe military gear.

12352187477?profile=original

On Sunday morning, media footage showed a robotic device appearing to search nearby cars.

Pulse Orlando's posted a note to its own page that said, "Everyone get out of pulse and keep running." The popular gay bar was full of people at the time of the incident.

Emotional witnesses and family members of those who were in the club surrounded the area after shots rang out. One witness said the shooting lasted the duration of an entire song.

12352188082?profile=original

It was Christopher Hansen's first visit to the club. The 32-year-old moved to Orlando about two months ago and went to meet someone for a "Latin night." He said he was near the front door of the bar when the shooting started.

"I just fell down and crawled out," he said. "People were trying to escape out the back of the club."

"I helped someone who was on the ground. I wasn't sure if he was dead or alive," he said. "I was like 'hey are you OK?'"

He remembered hearing more than 40 shots, and said the shooting continued as people ran from the bar. Police were yelling for him and others to get out.

He said he took off a bandanna that was wrapped around his head, tied it in a knot and stuck it in the bullet wound in the man's back.

Another witness, Rosie Feba, said she took her girlfriend to the club for the first time Saturday night. It was near closing time.

"She told me someone was shooting. Everyone was getting on the floor," Feba said. "I told her I didn't think it was real, I thought it was just part of the music, until I saw fire coming out of his gun."

Feba and her girlfriend ran out of the club. On the way out, they saw a man who had been shot.

Feba grabbed him. Others around her called 911. Some of the man's blood stained the sleeve of her striped T-shirt.

Both Feba and her girlfriend were unharmed, but shaken. They waited in a CVS parking lot for more information.

Victims experiencing emotional trauma related to the shooting can dial 2-1-1 for support, said Ashley Blasewitz of the Heart of Florida United Way.

A Georgia judge has thrown the book at PeeWee Roscoe for firing shots at 2 of Lil Wayne's tour buses in April 2014.

Wayne had just finished performing at an Atlanta club and his entourage was headed back to his hotel when the shooting took place.

None of Wayne's crew suffered injuries, but Roscoe, real name Jimmy Carlton Winfrey, was arrested shortly afterwards.

Roscoe pleaded guilty to 6 of the 27 counts brought against him. All were gang related charges, according to TMZ. He must serve 10 years in prison, followed by 10 years of probation.

(CNNPreliminary information indicates 10 people were killed and more than 20 others injured when a gunman opened fire at Oregon's Umpqua Community College on Thursday, said Oregon State Police spokesman Bill Fugate.

Douglas County Commissioner Chris Boice told CNN that the shooter is in custody. It was not immediately clear whether the shooter was injured.

Investigators are examining social media postings made by a man, thought to be in his late 20s, who they believe is the suspect, said a source with knowledge of the investigation.

The night before the attack, the alleged shooter appears to have had a conversation with others online about his intentions, the source said.

"We arrived to find multiple patients in multiple classrooms. Law enforcement was on scene and had the shooter neutralized," Douglas County Fire Marshal Ray Shoufler told CNN.

He said that two patients died while being transported to a hospital.

The shooting appears to have started in one building before the gunman moved to the school's science building, the source told CNN. Those killed and wounded were found in at least two classrooms.

Mercy Medical Center posted on Twitter that it had received nine patients, with three more on the way. The extent of their injuries was not known.

Three victims arrived at PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend in Springfield, about 70 miles north of the shooting scene. Two more are on their way, that hospital tweeted.

ATF agents were also on scene and canine teams are en route to search for explosives, fire arms casings and ammunition, a spokesman said. The FBI was en route.

'This is so out of character'

Earlier, authorities had said they were responding to reports of an active shooter at the Roseburg college campus.

Roseburg is a city of about 22,000 people located about 70 miles south of Eugene, Oregon, and some 180 miles south of Portland.

The school itself is up on a hill outside the city center, according to Rick Francona, a CNN military analyst who lives nearby. Francona said that logging is a big industry in the region, which is fairly rural but easily accessible from Interstate 5.

460x.jpg

"This is so out of character for this whole area," he said.

News of the shooting quickly reached Washington, with the state's senior senator, Ron Wyden, visibly shaken and Sen. Jeff Merkley tweeting that he was praying for the victims and their families.

President Obama was briefed on the situation and will continue to receive updates throughout the day.

The school

A picturesque campus in the North Umpqua River Valley, the school prides itself on a "a peaceful, safe atmosphere, and year-round recreational activities," according to its website.

It's not a traditional institution of higher learning, as the average age of its 13,600 students was 38 during the 2013-2014 school year. Only 740 of those were full time, 2,437 were part time and more than 10,000 fell under the umbrella of "community education."

It first began teaching classes out of rented facilities in 1961. Elton and Ruth Jackson donated 98.5 acres to house the campus in 1965.

Video And Pics After The Jump

FERGUSON, Mo. (AP) — Police arrested nearly two dozen people in Ferguson during a fourth consecutive night of demonstrations marking the anniversary of the fatal shooting of 18-year-old Michael Brown.

The gathering that stretched into early Tuesday morning came a day after a protest along West Florissant Avenue that was interrupted by gunfire and a police shooting that left an 18-year-old critically injured. The violence set the St. Louis suburb on edge and had protest leaders worried about whether tensions would escalate.

St. Louis County Executive Steve Stenger declared a state of emergency, which authorized county Police Chief Jon Belmar to take control of police emergency management in and around Ferguson.

By early Monday evening, hundreds of people had gathered again along West Florissant, the thoroughfare that was the site of massive protests and rioting after Brown was fatally shot last year in a confrontation with a Ferguson police officer.

The protesters chanted, beat drums and carried signs. When some in the group moved into a traffic lane, officers in riot gear forced people out of the street. Some demonstrators threw water bottles and other debris at officers.

460x.jpg

Belmar told The Associated Press: "They're not going to take the street tonight. That's not going to happen."

Ferguson resident Hershel Myers Jr., 46, criticized the police response as aggressive and unnecessary.

A military veteran, he added, "It's wrong for me to have to go overseas and fight with 'Army' across my chest, but we can't fight on our own street where I live."

By 1 a.m., the crowd and police presence along West Florissant had been begun to diminish.

County police spokesman Shawn McGuire said approximately 23 arrests were made, though police were still confirming official totals.

460x.jpg

There were no shots fired and no burglaries, looting or property damage during the protest, McGuire said in a statement. No smoke or tear gas was used, and no police or civilians reported injuries, he said.

Protests also spilled outside of Ferguson earlier Monday. Almost 60 people, including scholar and civil rights activist Cornel West, were arrested around midday for blocking the entrance to the federal courthouse in downtown St. Louis. Another group later briefly blocked Interstate 70 during the late afternoon rush hour, with an additional 64 arrests, according to McGuire.

At the protest that began Sunday night, tensions escalated after several hundred people gathered in the street, ignoring repeated warnings to get to the sidewalk or face arrest. Then, several gunshots suddenly rang out from an area near a strip of stores, including some that had been looted moments earlier. The shots sent protesters and reporters running for cover.

Belmar said he believed there were six shooters, including 18-year-old Tyrone Harris Jr., who Belmar said then opened fire on officers.

Police had been watching Harris during the protest out of concern that he was armed, the chief said.

During the gunfire, Harris crossed the street and apparently spotted plainclothes officers arriving in an unmarked van with distinctive red and blue police lights, Belmar said. The suspect allegedly shot into the windshield of the van.

The four officers in the van fired back, then pursued the suspect on foot. The suspect again fired on the officers when he became trapped in a fenced-in area, Belmar said, and all four opened fire.

Harris was in critical condition after surgery. Prosecutors announced 10 charges against him — five counts of armed criminal action, four counts of first-degree assault on a law enforcement officer and a firearms charge. All 10 are felonies.

All four officers in the van, each wearing protective vests, escaped injury. They were not wearing body cameras, Belmar said.

Harris' father called the police version of events "a bunch of lies." He said two girls who were with his son told him he was unarmed and had been drawn into a dispute involving two groups of young people.

Tyrone Harris Sr. told The Associated Press his son was a close friend of Michael Brown and was in Ferguson on Sunday night to pay respects.

The elder Harris said his son got caught up in a dispute among two groups of young people and was "running for his life" after gunfire broke out.

"My son was running to the police to ask for help, and he was shot," he said. "It's all a bunch of lies ... They're making my son look like a criminal."

Online court records show that Tyrone Harris Jr. was charged in November with stealing a motor vehicle and a gun, as well as resisting arrest by fleeing. A court hearing in that case is scheduled for Aug. 31.

Belmar said the suspect who fired on officers had a semi-automatic 9 mm gun that was stolen last year.

Video After The Jump

Bay Area rapper Yung Lott was attempting to shoot a music video for his single entitled "DEMO" last week, but San Francisco police shut things down.

SF Gate reports that police handcuffed 20 men on the set and subsequently arrested 21-year-old Taj Williams on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a loaded semi-automatic handgun and gang allegations. Michael Higginbotham, 24, was popped for suspicion of selling drugs.

Director Brian Storm laid his camera down out of fear of getting shot. It continued to roll however and filmed the entire incident.

Storm was detained while being cuffed and searched. He was later released without being arrested or cited.

He gave his thoughts on the incident in a description of the video clip uploaded to YouTube.

12351445873?profile=original

"Young men in a poverty stricken neighborhood, purposely staying busy to stay out of trouble, gathered together to do something positive, creative, and productive and ended up being violently stereotyped and prejudged. When there are many murders in San Francisco, is something as harmless as young men shooting a video something almost the entire sfpd needed to be in one place, armed for? If this is the response for that, why is it that when we in poverty stricken neighborhoods need and or call on the sfpd, they do not show up? Food for thought."

What's your take on this situation?

Jacksonville, FL has been HOT on the indie scene lately with music. Duval has definitely shown that they have SEVERAL artists that have spent time in the city or hail from the city and represent the city to the fullest. Including Loose Bills!!

Introducing Loose Bills

Originally born in the small town of Burlington, NC, the artist known today as Loose Bills relocated to Jacksonville, FL in 1990 and hasn’t looked back since.

Although he never envisioned himself being a rapper as a kid, music has always had a heavy influence on him. Riding with his mother, who played nothing but the old school radio station V101.5, he quickly grew to like artists such as The Isley Brothers, Prince, and New Edition to name a few.

Introducing Loose Bills

In 2006, Loose Bills decided to jump into the rap game and get his feet wet. He formed a group called The Bfd Clique with two of his high school friends. The group then signed with HaterProof Mgmt Group and released two popular mix-tapes called The City Zoo 1 and 2, which earned them a heavy buzz and they received runner up at The Source Unsigned Hype Convention 2008 in Dallas, TX. The group achieved much success before splitting to pursue their own solo careers.

With plans to make bigger, better, and smarter moves, Loose eventually took the time out to buy equipment and set up his own studio to record music freely. He started performing his single "Undecided" at local open mic venues. After a few performances, he had generated a decent buzz, and people started requesting a full mix-tape. He took that motivation and got to work on his first solo mix-tape, "The Memoirs of Franklin Benjamin’s," which was released in 2011. Loose Bills' is more prepared than ever as he has since released his new mixtape "Digital Dope" Vol.1. Following the release of ‘ Digital Dope’ came the Digital Dope video series, that created a big buzz with several thousand views. Loose Bills is currently working on a 14 track mixtape entitled "20 mins til Arrival". Buckle your seat belts and return your seats to their upright position because Loose Bills is about to ARRIVE.

Legendary Brownsville duo M.O.P. released their first album To The Death back in 1994, and have spent the past 20 years building a reputation as one of the most important groups in hip-hop history. They've been signed to iconic labels like Roc-A-Fella and G-Unit, released one of the biggest rap singles ever in “Ante Up”, crafted classic songs with DJ Premier, and did it all without compromising their sound or integrity. Now, to celebrate two decades in the game, M.O.P. is proud to present 20 Years And Gunnin: The Ammo Box, limited to 200 units. This set includes:
