Floyd Mayweather Jr. has just ended much angst by signing to fight Pomona's Shane Mosley in a May 1 welterweight fight between two of the world's top pound-for-pound fighters, Mosley's attorney told The Times. "Everything's good to go, it'll be a great fight, and the world will see what a great fighter Shane is at 147 pounds," Mosley's attorney Judd Burstein told The Times. The bout is expected to be staged at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Minutes earlier Wednesday, promoter Richard Schaefer just hung up the phone with me to talk to Mayweather Jr.'s manager after expressing frustration with the delayed signing of the unbeaten Mayweather (40-0). "I don't know, he just hasn't signed yet, I'm told everything is OK," Schaefer had said around noon. "It would've been good to have him sign two days ago. We could've gotten him down to Miami and talked to all the [reporters] on radio row. I really don't know what's happening. I'm told the signing is forthcoming." He was right. Source: L.A. People.Com Reports With his group the Black Eye Peas nominated for an impressive six Grammys, including the top prizes of album and record of the year, will.i.am has plenty of reasons to look forward to next month's awards show – something that wasn't necessarily the case during his first Grammy experience. "I remember that I was nervous," the musician, 34, told PEOPLE about his 2005 appearance. Recalling his Grammy debut while at an event announcing the first-ever Data Awards for electronic music, he said, "I was real nervous. We performed "Where Is the Love." I remember I got up on the mic and said, 'Everybody go out and vote.' " While the Peas didn't perform on last year's telecast, will.i.am attended – as a contender. "I was nominated for producer of the year award," he said. "I lost to Rick Rubin again, [who] is good to lose to." Known for unorthodox live collaborations and performances, the Grammy Awards have attracted a host of superstars for duets in past years. "My favorite Grammy moment lately [was] the Prince and Beyoncé performance," will.i.am says, remembering the singers' 2004 duet of "Purple Rain," "just seeing Prince and Beyoncé rocking." Video After The Jump BBC Reports Australian Danny Green produced a big shock by knocking out Roy Jones Jr in the first round of their IBO cruiserweight title fight in Sydney. The 40-year-old Jones, who was seeking a ninth world title, was floored inside the first minute by a brutal punch. Jones got up but Green continued the onslaught and the referee stopped the bout after two minutes, two seconds. After only his sixth loss in 60 fights, Jones, who had eyed a bout with Bernard Hopkins, has hinted at retirement. Jones Jr beat Hopkins to win his first world title in 1993 and floored Britain's Joe Calzaghe in the first round when the pair met for the Ring Magazine light heavyweight championship in New York in November 2008, before losing unanimously on points. He has won eight world titles in four different weight divisions and has been referred to as the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world. But he was felled for only the third time in his career and succumbed to the quickest defeat of a professional career that began way back in 1989. Green, who only came out of a 13-month retirement in April, was close to apologetic after winning his 28th fight out of 31, 25 of them by knockout. "That almost hurt me to do that to someone whom I aspire to look up to as a professional fighter inside and outside the ring," he said. "I am just overwhelmed - this is the greatest victory in my entire life." Jones Jr is now unlikely to continue in the ring and said: "I have got to take my hat off to Danny, it was a great performance. I guess now I go back into retirement."

SixShot.com Reports In an interview with Funkamster Flex last night (November 20), 50 Cent gave his opinion on the low sales projection of his latest album Before I Self Destruct. As reported earlier, the album is projected to only sell around 160,000 copies by next week and will most likely miss the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200. 50 Cent believes that the low sales were caused by the album's leak and the inability of his record label to take action. "With the actual outcome of the project, once the record leaks from the international plant, what more can I do," 50 explained. "I can't, I held the record long enough to get it to them, to mix and master it and for them to ship it and then it leaks from the plant internationally, I'm like come on, then that's it. They lost the ball. You know what I mean, if the numbers look funny to me, it's they fault." Before I Self Destruct landed on shelves Tuesday (November 17). The set features appearances from Eminem, Ne-Yo and R. Kelly. 50 has enjoyed stellar first week sales since his official debut in 2003. Get Rich Or Die Trying scored 872,000 copies, The Massacre cashed in over 1,000,000 copies and Curtis rolled in 691,000 copies.

MTV UK Reports Michael Jackson’s posthumous film This Is It has made a staggering $20.1 million world-wide on its first day of release. The documentary, which follows MJ throughout the rehearsals of his ill-fated comeback tour, has also made around £1.2 million in the UK alone since its premiere on Tuesday night. Steve Elzer from Sony Pictures has stated that the movie is a: "reaffirmation of the global appeal of Michael Jackson". He also revealed the studio will submit the movie to the Academy Awards so it can be considered for the best picture category. Director Kenny Ortega supported Elzer’s statement claiming Jacko’s last project ‘deserves’ to win an Oscar. Meanwhile, the King of Pop’s father Joe Jackson has stated the legend is now worth more in death than when he was alive. The Billie Jean singer, who died at the age of 50 in June, has entered the top five of Forbes magazine’s Top-Earning Dead Celebrities list. Mr. Jackson told US show Extra: "He's worth more dead than when he was alive, but I'd rather have him alive," MJ’s father added: "I get emotional when I'm off to myself and I start thinking about things that we went through.” It seems even in death, there is still controversy surrounding the singer as an alleged picture of Michael Jackson’s body during his autopsy is rumoured to have been ‘offered’ to the press.

I can't really say I have been a fan of Lamar Odom throughout his NBA career, but I have respected his game. It takes not only talent but a lot of intestinal fortitude to maintain a 10 year career in the best basketball league in the world. Unfortunately, Lamar's recent off the court shenanigans show he is as green as lettuce when it comes to women. After dating for only a month the L.A. Laker's star marries Khloe Kardashian of the notorious money hungry, attention starved, do whatever it takes to hold on to a rich man, Kardashian clan. I mean come on, we've all seen Khloe's sister Kim doing the humpty hump with Ray J and watched the antics of the three sisters on the ENetwork's calamity of a show 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians'. So my question to Lamar is, man what the hell were you thinking?

After signing a four year, 33 million dollar contract this is how you celebrate? I can only imagine the laughter and high fives going on in the Kardashian home as they pop champagne and throw darts at Lamar's picture with the word "sucker" emblazoned on his forehead. I'm not knocking Khloe's hustle, as a matter of fact I applaud her for taking this "clown" to school. I just feel bad for Lamar's 2 kids from a previous relationship. They're the ones that have to shoulder the burden of dealing with mean spirited friends in school and have the unenviable task of getting to know their new step-mom and her cackling sisters. Pat yourself on the back Lamar, you really have earned this "Clown Of The Week" award. -- ChasinDatPaper PaperChaserDotCom

Former Roc-A-Fella/Def Jam artist Tru Life turned himself in to authorities last night (June 23) to face a charge of 1st degree murder, according to reports. The charge is possibly tied to a brutal stabbing incident last week that left one man seriously injured, and an 18-year old teen dead. As reported by AllHipHop.com, police were initially investigating Tru Life’s brother for a retaliation attack in the non-fatal shooting of Michael Slater. The individual, whom police suspect is a drug dealer, was shot in the stomach outside of club Pacha. Several hours after the crime, police claim five gang members ambushed 30 year old Jason Black and the teen at a Manhattan apartment complex. Both men were stabbed repeatedly in the chest and face. Black survived the assault, while the unidentified teen succumbed to his wounds. At the time, police theorized that the back and forth violence was the result of a feud between Jason Black and Tru Life’s brother. 1st degree murder carries a maximum sentence of life in prison under New York law. If an official or witness is not the victim, the distinction can also be decreed for murders involving multiple parties or tortuous killings. Tru Life’s last music effort, “Wet ‘em Up,” was heard as a selection on the soundtrack to Grand Theft Auto IV. At press time, Tru Life could not be reached for comment. Source : ALLHIPHOP
