A woman is suing RnB singer Chris Brown for $20 million, saying he drugged and raped her on a yacht last month, according to a lawsuit obtained by Insider.

The woman, who is named Jane Doe in the lawsuit, claimed the assault happened on a yacht docked at the Miami home of rapper P Diddy, whose real name is Sean Johns Combs, on December 30, the suit said.

It is not clear who the yacht belonged to.

The lawsuit states the woman was invited to the yacht by an unidentified male friend, who was with Brown and called her when she was visiting Miami.

The woman, who said she is a professional choreographer, dancer, model, and musician, claimed Brown interrupted the phone call to tell her "he had heard about her music and urged her to head over to Diddy's home on Star Island as soon as possible," the suit states.

Once on the yacht, the lawsuit said Brown offered the woman a mixed drink in the kitchen and "gave her tips about starting a career in the music industry," according to the lawsuit.

The woman said she started to feel "disoriented" and "physically unstable," and shortly after Brown led her into an empty bedroom in the yacht, the lawsuit alleges.

The singer prevented her attempts to leave and then undressed and raped her while she asked him to stop, the lawsuit states.

The lawsuit claimed Brown ejaculated inside her, jumped up, and announced he was "done," according to the suit.

The woman said she took emergency contraception the following day after Brown texted her asking her to, the lawsuit states.

She is now seeking $20 million in damages.

It might not be smooth sailing for Mark Zuckerberg in his quest to change Facebook's identity, because we've learned someone was already ahead of him in trying to grab the "Meta" trademark & they're willing to give it up to Zuck for a steep price.

Back in August, the founders of a company called Meta PC filed to trademark the word "Meta" for computers, laptops, tablets, software & more items relating to tech -- so, right in Facebook's wheelhouse.

The founders, Joe Darger & Zack Shutt, tell us they've been operating Meta PC for a little over a year, but recently filed docs to formally trademark their brand.

While Meta PC's trademark petition hasn't yet been granted, they still have a lead on Zuckerberg if he tries to claim it for his rebranded company. For that, Darger & Shutt tell us they're willing to give up their quest to lock the phrase down if Zuck will shell out $20 MILLION.

The cost might seem crazy, but the way Darger & Shutt see it, giving up the TM will require them to rebrand their entire company ... which, of course, will be super expensive.

Trademark or not, Meta PC has already reaped some of Facebook's announcement benefits -- they've seen a 5,000% increase in followers across their social media channels ... not too bad.

However, a source close to discussions tells TMZ ... Meta (Facebook) believes they have the rights necessary to adopt the "Meta" trademark for their goods and services.

Boosie Badazz is taking his beef with Mark Zuckerberg to court ... he says Instagram banned his account because he's Black, so now he's suing over it.

The Louisiana rapper claims he was the victim of racial discrimination when IG put him in social media timeout back in August, and he says he's suing the multi-billionaire Facebook and IG owner for $20 million.

Boosie told Vlad TV the IG ban caused some of his business ventures to tank. He says the $20 million figure is what he lost when his original account was deactivated. It doesn't appear he's actually filed the suit yet.

Remember ... Boosie made a plea to Mark "Zuckinberger" this summer when his IG shut him down for repeatedly violating certain policies. If you followed Boosie on the 'gram, you know his old page was bootylicious ... although IG's never said exactly why it deleted his account.

Boosie thinks Zuck might be holding a grudge and trying to get revenge because he mispronounced his name in an epic rant.

As for the racial element ... Boosie claims he's being discriminated against because of his skin color, saying there's a lot of other folks -- presumably white -- who got their Instagram pages back after being banned for way worse stuff.

Boosie's since made a new account but he's still not happy. He says he can't go live on his new page and it's "f*cking up my income."

Kobe Bryant is still a titan of industry -- even in death -- so says Forbes which just ranked him #6 on its "Highest-Paid Dead Celebrities of 2020" list.

The NBA legend passed away on Jan. 26 in a helicopter crash -- but in the months that followed, his estate pulled in an estimated $20 million in earnings, Forbes says.

The main source of income is from shoes and apparel -- with Nike reportedly raking in around $250 mil annually from Mamba items.

In addition to sneakers, Kobe's 2018 autobiography, "The Mamba Mentality: How I Play" sold more than 300,000 copies this year --TEN TIMES the number of copies it did in 2019, Forbes says.

There's more ... after the Lakers won the NBA championship in October, Bryant's jersey was the #2 seller for the organization, behind Finals MVP LeBron James.

As for the rest of the Forbes list ... Michael Jackson is still #1 with $48 mil in earnings in 2020. Dr. Seuss is #2 with $33 mil. Peanuts creator Charles Schulz is #3 with $32.5. Arnold Palmer is #4 with $25 million. And #5 is Elvis with $23 mil.

Elvis' estate has lost a ton of money this year because of the COVID pandemic -- tourism at his legendary home Graceland is a big moneymaker, but it's been hit hard by the shutdowns.

Unfortunately, there's another newcomer to the "Dead Celebs" list -- rapper Juice WRLD, who died back in Dec. 2019 at only 21. Forbes says his music sales spiked after his death, helping the estate bring in $15 mil.

Audio After The Jump

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WREG) — Famous TV judge Joe Brown is on the hot seat after statements he made about Harriet Tubman, but the judge is making no apologies for what he said.

Judge Brown upset many people when he was discussing the picture of abolitionist Tubman being placed on the $20 bill on a radio show.

"You've got nothing but male whites on the currency with one exception," Brown told WREG. "You've got Susan B. Anthony on a silver dollar, so you've got all white men, one white woman, so what do you do? Do you put a black man on there like Thurgood Marshall or Fredrick Douglas or Martin Luther King, one of the only three people the United States has named a holiday after? No. You take a foot soldier, and the foot soldier was a brave lady, but she did not die in the battle."

Brown is back in the national spotlight not for his unorthodox courtroom antics or his TV show but for controversial statements he made about Tubman on the $20 bill.

"You assess the value to an ethnic group or to a race, and this is ancient history on the status of the men," he said.

Tubman, an American icon, was born a slave and escaped to her freedom, making 13 trips back to free other slaves using a network of safe houses called the Underground Railroad. Her life story is being told in theaters now in the movie "Harriet." Brown said the film is also part of the ploy, and he knows from his days in Hollywood that feminists are behind it.

"I was privy to many debates out there where what I call 'feministas' decided that we hate straight black men with a passion," Brown said. "We want to dis them. I'm paraphrasing them, but they were actually saying this. We need a woman at any cost on a currency, so lets pick a historical black female so the liberals can't attack it, the black men can't attack it, and everybody will push it, and oh by the way whoever we pick, let's do a movie to push this woman."

Brown said if any single black person deserves the honor, it's Frederick Douglass, who's credited with starting the abolitionist movement.

"You dis him totally," Brown said. "You see, you've never done a movie about him. What you do is you pick one of our foot soldiers and say, 'The hell with the greats we've got out there.'"

Report via TMZ -- Travis Scott straight-up jacked a portion of Three 6 Mafia's DJ Paul's track ... so claims DJ Paul in a new lawsuit.

Paul filed legal docs claiming Travis' "No Bystanders" has a hook that's almost identical to DJ Paul's track "Tear Da Club Up." According to docs, obtained by TMZ, Paul says the hook to his track says "Tear da club up, tear da club up" while Travis' track goes "Fuck da club up. Fuck da club up."

In docs, Paul claims the cadence and sound are virtually identical. What's more ... Paul says Travis used his exact hook from "Tear Da Club Up" for his Grammys performance earlier this year ... line by line.

"No Bystanders" is a part of Travis' massively successful "Astroworld" album ... which debuted No. 1 on The Billboard 200 chart. It was also a fan favorite during the rapper's 55-city tour.

In a previous interview with us in June DJ Paul claimed young artists were going to kill hip-hop ... but it doesn't appear like the lawsuit is in direct correlation to that statement.

Paul's now suing to get Travis' track pulled and wants the profits from "No Bystanders" ... which he thinks is around $20 million. We've reached out to Travis' rep, so far no word back.

A woman who accused Usher Raymond of giving her herpes appears to be having second thoughts.

TMZ reports that Laura Helm has fired her attorney, Lisa West, and is not sure she wants to move forward with the $20 million lawsuit she filed against the singer.

In her lawsuit, Helm claimed she and Usher had unprotected sex, but in a phone conversation with publicist Dennis Byron that occurred on July 19, two days before the suit was filed, she admitted that the "Climax" hit maker had used protection.

"That's why they make protection, for people who have STDs," the Georgia jazz singer said at the time.

Usher's legal team has already filed a motion to dismiss the case. Helm has until November 5th to respond.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Harriet Tubman, an African-American abolitionist who was born a slave, will stand with George Washington, Abraham Lincoln and Benjamin Franklin as among the iconic faces of U.S. currency.

The $20 bill will be redesigned with Tubman's portrait on the front, marking two historic milestones, Treasury Secretary Jacob Lew announced Wednesday. She will be the first African American on U.S. paper money and the first woman depicted in 100 years.

The leader of the Underground Railroad will replace the portrait of Andrew Jackson, the nation's seventh president and a slave owner, who will be pushed to the back of the bill.

12352106472?profile=original

Lew also settled the backlash that had erupted after he announced an initial plan to remove Alexander Hamilton, the nation's first Treasury secretary, from the $10 bill in order to honor a woman.

Hamilton will remain on the $10 note, Lew said.

Instead, the Treasury building on the back of the bill will be replaced with leaders of the suffrage movement to give women the right to vote, including Lucretia Mott, Sojourner Truth, Susan B. Anthony, Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Alice Paul.

12352113276?profile=original

From left, Sojourner Truth, Lucretia Mott, Susan B. Anthony, Alice Paul and Elizabeth Cady Stanton will be featured on the back of the new $10 bill.

The $5 bill will also undergo change. The illustration of the Lincoln Memorial on the back of the will be redesigned to honor "events at the Lincoln Memorial that helped to shape our history and our democracy." The new image will include civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr., Eleanor Roosevelt and Marian Anderson.

An online group, Women on 20s, said it was encouraged that Lew was responding to its campaign to replace Jackson with a woman. But it said it would not be satisfied unless Lew also committed to issuing the new $20 bill at the same time that the redesigned $10 bill is scheduled to be issued in 2020.

460x.jpg

The $10 bill is the next note on Treasury's redesign calendar, and it aims introduce updated protections against counterfeiting. That redesign was scheduled to be unveiled in 2020, which marks the 100th anniversary of women gaining the right to vote. Lew had often cited that connection as a reason to put a woman on the $10 bill.

However, the effort ran into strong objections from supporters of Hamilton, who is enjoying renewed pop culture interest with the hit Broadway musical "Hamilton."

Tubman, who was born into slavery in the early part of the 19th century, escaped and then used the network of antislavery activists and safe houses known as the Underground Railroad to transport other slaves to freedom. After the Civil War, Tubman, who died in 1913, became active in the campaign for women's suffrage.

Various groups have been campaigning to get a woman honored on the nation's paper currency, which has been an all-male domain for more than a century.

The last woman featured on U.S. paper money was Martha Washington, who was on a dollar silver certificate from 1891 to 1896. The only other woman ever featured on U.S. paper money was Pocahontas, from 1865 to 1869. Susan B. Anthony and Sacagawea are on dollar coins.

Retired neurosurgeon and failed Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson stirred up a hornet's nest Wednesday, April 20, when he was asked his opinion about Harriet Tubman replacing America's seventh president and slave owner, Andrew Jackson, on the $20 bill.

Ben Carson talks about Harriet Tubman beginning at the 4:00 mark

"Well I think Andrew Jackson was a tremendous secretary — I mean a tremendous president,” Carson said Wednesday on Fox Business. “I mean, Andrew Jackson was the last president who actually balanced the federal budget, where we had no national debt."

"And here he gets kicked off the $20 bill," host Neil Cavuto said.

"Right, in honor of that we kick him off of the money,” Carson said, though Jackson is expected to stay on the back of the bill.

“Are you anti-Harriet Tubman?” Cavuto asked.

"I love Harriet Tubman. I love what she did, but we can find another way to honor her. Maybe a $2 bill,” Carson said.

When informed of Carson's comments Rosa Parks' niece, Sheila Keys, told TMZ that he "needs surgery on his brain" and clearly puts zero historical value on Tubman's contributions to America.

Jay Z has just been hit with a $20 million lawsuit.

Parlux Fragrances filed the suit on Tuesday, January 26, in Manhattan Supreme Court, claiming the music superstar failed to help promote, Gold Jay Z, his signature fragrance.

12351927088?profile=original

According to the New York Daily News, the company alleges that Jay, real name Shawn Carter, skipped out on appearances on Good Morning America and at Macy's, failed to do an exclusive interview with Women's Wear Daily and hasn't promoted the fragrance on social media.

As a result, Gold Jay Z, failed to take off. And now retailers are returning the unsold merchandise, leaving Parlux millions of dollars in the red.

"Jay Z declined ... declined ... declined ... declined" six different times to participate, according to court papers.

The company is asking a judge to force the "99 Problems" hit maker to return the guaranteed $2 million up front royalty fee he was given and 300,000 stock shares in Perfumania.

In addition they want $18 million in compensatory damages and their contract with Jay voided.

Josie Harris is looking to take the father of her three children to the cleaners in a new lawsuit, according to TMZ.

Harris wants a judge to order Floyd Mayweather Jr. to cough up $20 million for labeling her a drug addict in a recent interview with Katie Couric.

Couric asked the boxing champion about a 2010 domestic abuse case involving Harris that got him sentenced to 90 days in jail in 2011. Floyd denied the charges and blamed Harris for being intoxicated at the time.

12351540271?profile=original

"Did I kick, stomp and beat someone? That didn't happen. I'll look you in your face and say no, that didn't happen," Mayweather told Couric. "Did I restrain a woman that was on drugs? Yes I did. If they say that's domestic violence then you know what, I'm guilty of restraining a person."

In Harris' lawsuit her attorney, Dan Friedlander, wrote that Mayweather's drug accusations "were knowingly fabricated in order to hype Mayweather's upcoming fight with Pacquiao, to avoid bad press by deflecting responsibility for beating the mother of his children."

Walter Earl Morrison is cooling his heals inside a Phoenix, Arizona jail after being busted for theft at his job as a UPS worker.

The 20-year old was unloading cargo from a plane last week at Sky Harbor Airport when he spotted a package he thought contained cash. He stuffed the package inside his shirt. When he got home he discovered what he had stolen was actually a diamond.

According to WPTV, Morrison had no idea the stone was worth $160,000. He wound up trading it for a $20 bag of weed.

It didn't take long before he was caught. Morrison was fired by UPS and arrested. He's been charged with felony theft. His next court appearance is scheduled for Tuesday, September 30, in the Maricopa County Superior Court.

Written by Paul Bonanos for Billboard

David Hyman, the founder of streaming music service MOG, has sued Beats Electronics for more than $20 million, claiming that Beats fired him to avoid giving him an equity payout, according to a report from Courthouse News Service.

News of the suit arrives as Apple is reportedly closing in on a deal to acquire Beats for $3.2 billion. Best known for its headphone and portable speaker business, Beats also operates streaming music service Beats Music, which stems from its acquisition of MOG in 2012

12350829282?profile=original

MOG creator David Hyman, a serial entrepreneur who was also once CEO of Gracenote, claims in the suit that Beats dismissed him in bad faith, knowing that he would receive 2.5% of the company under an incentive plan based on the duration of his employment, according to the report. The suit names Daisy LLC as a co-defendant, the report said; Beats Music was code-named Project Daisy before its launch in January.

The first 1% was to arrive on his first anniversary as CEO, according to the report. Hyman’s LinkedIn profile says he was employed by Beats for seven months, from May to November 2012. He has since revealed that he was interim CEO of Pono, the high-quality audio project of Neil Young, for four months before becoming chief executive at stealth start-up Chosen.fm last September

Instead of retaining him until he received his equity stake, Beats reportedly fired Hyman for attempting to terminate a problematic employee. But Hyman claims Beats was intentionally depriving him of his fair equity compensation in the process, according to the report.

Hyman’s departure from Beats was considered a surprise at the time. Beats hired former Topspin CEO Ian Rogers to replace Hyman in January 2013

It’s not yet clear how Hyman arrived at the $20 million-plus figure he’s reportedly seeking as compensatory damages. The suit says he would be due 25% of the company’s shares if it reached a fair market value of $500 million, the report said.

Hyman and Beats could not be reached for comment at press time.

$20 million worth of Roc-A-Fella Records master recordings are at the center of a police investigation, according to TMZ.

The story begins in 2002, when Roc-A-Fella Records master recordings from 1998 to 2002 vanished. The recordings were thought to have been lost forever.

On Friday, April 18, a former Jay Z producer named Chauncey Mahan contacted Live Nation, the company that partnered with the rapper to create Roc Nation.

12350771700?profile=original

Mahan said he was in possession of a large amount of the recordings. He told Live Nation he was either going to put them up for auction or they could buy them from him for a $100,000.

LN agreed to buy the recordings for $75,000 and arranged to meet Mahan at his Northridge, California storage facility, where the masters were being stored. LN informed the LAPD of the proposed transaction. When Mahan arrived he was detained by police.

12350772870?profile=original

Mahan agreed to be taken in for questioning and allowed the LAPD to hold onto the recordings until a judge can decide who's the rightful owner.

Jay Z's lawyers have filed a grand larceny complaint. Because Live Nation is based in Beverly Hills, California, the police department there is investigating extortion allegations.

Mahan has not been arrested, but that could change pending the outcome of the investigation and the judge's decision.

**UPDATE** April 22

Chauncey Mahan is fighting back against allegations that he tried to extort money from Live Nation for Jay Z's master recordings.

Mahan told TMZ that Hov was "was a stupid kid smoking blunts" who couldn't keep track of his property. The masters in question included the albums Vol. 3... Life and Times of S. Carter and The Dynasty: Roc La Familia.

12350773295?profile=original

According to Mahan he did Jay a favor by holding onto the recordings because nobody else was doing it. The producer claims that he repeatedly reached out to Jay's camp over the last decade to let them know he was in possession of the material, but was blown off.

Mahan finally asked Live Nation for a $100,000 "storage fee" last week as compensation for keeping the recordings safe for the past 12 years

Video vixens Elizabeth Velasquez and Azia Davies are seeking $10 million each in a lawsuit they filed against Tyga.

As we previously reported, Davies, Velasquez and Alissa Rae Ross sued the Young Money rapper back in December. They all agreed to go topless in the Alex Nazari-directed clip for "Make It Nasty," but claim they were promised their nipples would be "covered up" or "edited out."

12349755277?profile=original

When the explicit version of the video aired last July, the women's breasts were fully exposed.

The women sued for breach of contract, invasion of privacy, as well as fraud. In new legal documents filed this month, Davies and Velasquez asked for $10 million each, according to TMZ. It's unclear if Rae Ross will also be seeking a huge cash payout.

Justin Timberlake's return to the music business is looking like a huge success. His new album The 20/20 Experience sold 968,000 copies in its first week out, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Tickets for his upcoming stadium tour with Jay-Z, dubbed Legends of the Summer, is outselling Jay and Kanye West's Watch the Throne tour by a 5-to-1 margin according to StubHub.

12349983871?profile=original

The question nobody seemed to asking until now is what compelled the superstar singer/actor to suddenly make the decision to record a new album and hit the road for a massive tour after nearly seven years away from music.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the clock was ticking on a sizable advance given to JT by Live Nation

12349984470?profile=original

In 2008 Live Nation and Justin began doing business. The concert industry giant first purchased Signatures, a company that licences Timberlake's merchandise. Next LN agreed to make Justin's tequila brand, 901, the official tequila of Live Nation venues.

In exchange JT committed to a tour. He was given a $20 million advance. $5 million of that he wouldn't have to return as long as he completed the tour.

Fast forward to 2013 and LN was getting anxious and wanted JT to make good on their deal.

"There is a due date by which you have to start touring. At some point, [Live Nation] has to call in the loan," a source told THR.

For a stadium tour JT needed a new album to make sure fans filled the seats, so he got into the studio with Timbaland to record The 20/20 Experience. Justin's manager Johnny Wright told CNN the project was completed in just 20 days.

12349984295?profile=original

Typically, an album launch for a megastar of Timberlake's stature would take a year to set up at radio and retail, in addition to recording time. But with 20/20, the public first got word of its March 19 release in January.

"Suit & Tie," the lead single off of the album didn't take off on radio as quickly as planned.

Worried a stadium tour might not sell as well as expected, Live Nation reached a deal with Jay-Z to co-headline.

Their joint tour is expected to gross $60 million, which is more than enough to satisfy Justin's financial obligation to Live Nation.

"Live Nation always envisioned an arena tour for Justin Timberlake. After their successful studio collaboration, Justin and Jay-Z approached us, and we are thrilled to promote their stadium tour," a Live Nation rep told THR.

NEW YORK (AP) — San Antonio Spurs guard Tony Parker is suing a New York City club and its operators for $20 million over a scratched retina he says he suffered during a fight involving singer Chris Brown and members of hip-hop star Drake's entourage.

The suit was filed in State Supreme Court in Manhattan on Thursday. It says the W.i.P club in SoHo and its operators were negligent in security and supervision, which allowed the fight to take place.

Chris Brown, his girlfriend and his bodyguard were among eight injured during the fight inside the club last week. Police say members of Drake's entourage stopped Brown as he was leaving. The fight escalated and bottles were thrown.

There was no answer at phone numbers listed as affiliated with those named in the suit.
