Jay Z has just been hit with a $20 million lawsuit.
Parlux Fragrances filed the suit on Tuesday, January 26, in Manhattan Supreme Court, claiming the music superstar failed to help promote, Gold Jay Z, his signature fragrance.
According to the New York Daily News, the company alleges that Jay, real name Shawn Carter, skipped out on appearances on Good Morning America and at Macy's, failed to do an exclusive interview with Women's Wear Daily and hasn't promoted the fragrance on social media.
As a result, Gold Jay Z, failed to take off. And now retailers are returning the unsold merchandise, leaving Parlux millions of dollars in the red.
"Jay Z declined ... declined ... declined ... declined" six different times to participate, according to court papers.
The company is asking a judge to force the "99 Problems" hit maker to return the guaranteed $2 million up front royalty fee he was given and 300,000 stock shares in Perfumania.
In addition they want $18 million in compensatory damages and their contract with Jay voided.
