TMZ reports that the "Gummo" rapper, real name Daniel Hernandez, was arrested Wednesday, July 11, at JFK airport when he landed after his European tour. He was taken into custody on an arrest warrant out of Houston for allegedly choking a 16-year old boy at the Galleria Mall in January of this year.
A rep for the Manhattan District Attorney's Office says 6ix9ine was arraigned and will be held until July 20. Houston authorities are expected to take him into custody at that time.
Police believe they are one step closer to solving the murder of XXXTentacion.
TMZ reports that Michael Boatwright, 22, was arrested on an unrelated drug charge on July 9. The following day he was served with an arrest warrant for first degree murder.
Boatwright is the second person charged for their alleged involvement in the crime. Dedrick D. Williams, 22, was arrested on June 21, and charged with first-degree murder, a probation violation for theft of a motor vehicle and driving without a valid license.
A person of interest in the case, Robert Allen, 22, is still being sought by Broward County authorities.
XXXTentacion, born Jahseh Onfroy, was shot to death on June 18, 2018, while leaving a motorcycle dealership in Pompano Beach, Florida, in what police believe was a robbery gone wrong.

Sacramento rapper Mozzy ran into some legal trouble in Las Vegas last Thursday, July 5.
TMZ reports that he was driving around Sin City without a license plate on his black Maserati when cops pulled him over for failing to signal during a lane change.
During the stop police discovered that Mozzy, real name Timothy Patterson, didn't have a driver's license. They also allegedly found a loaded Glock while searching his car, which is a big problem for Mozzy because he went to prison after a 2014 conviction for felony gun possession and possession of a controlled substance.
He was charged with gun possession by a prohibited person and released on $5000 bond.
