Whether you love him or hate him, you have to admit that Funkmaster Flex is a legend in the game. However, this has been a week he would like to forget.
The Hot 97 DJ promised to deliver a Meek Mill diss record going at Drake on Monday, July 27, but for whatever reason it didn't happen.
One fan, Azeem Khan, has started a petition on Change.org calling for Flex's resignation.
There has always been word that DJ Funk Funkmaster Flex was not someone who was willing to give up his position at Hot 97 for his slot. Despite constant critiques from everywhere for the old man to step down, and give the younger people a shot he decided to stay where he was. Last year Dame Dash was at the forefront of the movement saying that Funk Flex really needs to just leave. Well, today was the last straw. This fraud of a DJ decided to lie to everyone for ratings and downloads of the Hot 97 app that Meek Mill would be on tonight to release a diss track to Drake to no avail. No one has given Hot 97 two hours of listening time since Biggie was alive, and it's a crime to have taken that from us. The people have spoken and it is time for Funk Flex to step down.
Khan spoke with AllHipHop to explain the reason he wants the DJ to exit his position.
“It’s one thing to be wrong by mistake, but he’s been gassing up this beef like no other. Everything is about clicks. This was straight up lying though. He’s needed to step down for a while now. I didn’t realize it would blow like this, but he should at least see what the fans really want. And that’s to not be lied to,” Khan told AllHipHop. “Everyone was tuned in, and he gave us the best pump fake since Michael Jordan in the 98 Finals. His site already picked it up, and he IG’d it. That just further shows he thinks he’s really just above everyone else. And he’s not.”
So far the petition has 9,108 signatures.

Treach of Naughty By Nature is very upset at what he believes is disrespect shown by New York radio stations that didn't honor Hussein Fatal of The Outlawz, after he died.
The New Jersey rapper singled Hot 97's Funkmaster Flex out on Tuesday, July 28, by issuing a no fly zone for his state to the DJ.
"NO FUNK FLEX ZONE YOU WILL NEVER GET A DOLLAR IN JERSEY AGAIN YOU BITCH ASS NIGGA!!," Treach wrote.
Hussein, real name Bruce Washington Jr., died in a car crash on Saturday, July 11. He was 38-years old.

NEW YORK (AP) -- Tom Brady's four-game suspension for his role in using underinflated footballs during the AFC championship game last season has been upheld by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.
The league announced the decision Tuesday.
The New England Patriots' star quarterback was suspended by NFL executive Troy Vincent in May following a league-sanctioned investigation by Ted Wells. The Patriots were fined $1 million and docked a pair of draft picks. The team didn't appeal its penalty, but Brady and his lawyers made their case during a 10-hour appeal hearing on June 23.
The NFL Players Association has previously said it would challenge the decision in court if Brady's suspension wasn't erased.
Brady and the Patriots have denied knowingly using deflated footballs in the AFC title game win over Indianapolis. The Patriots went on to beat Seattle in the Super Bowl and Brady was the MVP.
The NFL announced in late January that Wells would head an investigation into New England's use of underinflated balls in a 45-7 win over the Colts on Jan. 18. More than three months later, the 243-page Wells report was issued, saying it was "more probable than not" that Brady was "at least generally aware" that footballs he used were improperly deflated by team personnel.
Five days after that, on May 11, the NFL suspended Brady four games, fined the Patriots and stripped the two draft picks. Patriots owner Robert Kraft accepted the team penalties.
But Brady appealed and his hearing was held before Goodell six weeks later. The union had asked Goodell to recuse himself from hearing the appeal because he could not be impartial and might be called as a witness. But Goodell said it was his responsibility to oversee the hearing to protect the integrity of the league.
Scientific arguments were a major part of Brady's defense. Brady's lawyers tried to shoot down the findings of an independent firm hired to provide scientific analysis of the air pressure inside the footballs used by the Patriots and Colts.
Brady, who turns 38 on Aug. 3, took nearly every snap last season. But he'll miss the first four games this season unless the case goes to court. Jimmy Garoppolo, a second-round pick in 2014, would replace Brady, the two-time NFL MVP and three-time Super Bowl MVP.
New England hosts Pittsburgh on Sept. 10 to open the regular season. It then goes to Buffalo, hosts Jacksonville, has a bye, and is at Dallas in the last game of Brady's suspension.

Charlamagne read Flex's eulogy and said his career is over for failing to deliver a new diss song from Meek Mill on Monday, July 27, not coming through with the rest of Drake's reference tracks and his beef with Jay Z.

Stories of deaths by shooting in Chicago are reported more than most major cities in the country. Lil Herb believes it is due to everyone in the area having easy access to guns, as they often cost no more than $100 - even $20 in some cases. "Everybody can get their hands on a gun" in Chicago, says Lil Herb. "Kids can get their hands on a gun - money speaks. Money talks."
"A beef can start with something so little as an Instagram post or a fight, like, a petty fight," the drill rapper tells us in this eye-opening exclusive. According to Lil Herb, female bystanders and people getting killed within a day of getting involved in someone else's beef is a common-day occurrence - he even admits to some women being shot at while being in his presence.
He himself had a gun charge that got dismissed because officials didn't have probable cause to do so, which came at a time where he was just starting his career and trying to avoid harming his reputation. To keep himself in a good light, Lil Herb has decided to follow in the steps of fellow Chi-town rapper Chief Keef and take his talents to California. "Me, Lil Herb, I am moving to L.A., Los Angeles [and] getting away from all the violence," he says with a smile. "I wanna be around positive energy, and I wanna be rich, and I wanna make the lives better for everybody around me."

David Banner is dragging Lil Wayne into court.
According to TMZ, the Mississippi artist claims Wayne stiffed him out of at least $154,000 in royalties for three songs he produced
Banner says Young Money admitted to owing him $138,787.19 for the 1998 songs "Pussy Monster" and "La La" and an additional $15,392.57 for the 2009 track "Streets Is Watching"
Young Money allegedly stopped communicating with Banner after 2012, forcing him to take them to court. TMZ reports that the royalties owed could have increased since that time.

The war of words between Safaree Samuels and his ex-girlfriend Nicki Minaj is heating up.
SB just dropped a new diss track titled "Lifeline" going at both Nicki and her new boyfriend Meek Mill. He discredits his former lover's pen game by claiming to have ghostwritten part of her album, The Pinkprint.
"Now that I'm gone, good luck with them punch lines," SB spits.
However, his harshest lines were saved for Meek.
"This nigga bent outta shape with a gorilla face/ My bars on The Pinkprint no one will ever match/ My dick print lil nigga you could never match."
According to Safaree, this all stems from the fact that Nicki and her new man are supposed to be happy together, but spend most of their time worried about him.

Georgia authorities have opened a homicide investigation into Bobbi Kristina Brown's death, according to TMZ.
This had been expected given the fact that Bobbi reportedly had facial injuries at the time she was taken to the hospital, after being found unconscious, face down and submerged in water in a bathtub at her Roswell, Georgia home on January 31, 2015.
Bobbi's boyfriend, Nick Gordon, is a person of interest in the investigation. He and a friend of Bobbi's found her in the bathtub.
Bobbi was 22-years old when she died on Sunday, July 26. She had been in a coma for the last several months. She was the only child of Bobby Brown and the late, great singer Whitney Houston.

Kanye West and his pregnant wife, Kim Kardashian, made an appearance on Caitlyn Jenner's new reality television show, I Am Cait.
The rapper met Jenner's family for the first time and offered Cait powerful words of wisdom.
"I think [the transition] is one of the strongest things that have happened in our existence. Just as human beings that are so controlled by perception," Kanye said. "You couldn't have been up against more. Like, your daughter is a supermodel, you're a celebrity, you have every type of thing, and it was still like, 'fuck everybody, this is who I am.'"
