Video After The Jump

It's appropriate that Yo Gotti named his new album "The Art of Hustle" because he learned from a very young age that he had to grind in the streets to get what he wanted.

In the documentary titled "Born Hustler" the Memphis rapper introduces us to his mother, Geraldine Mims a.k.a Gerry.

12351981689?profile=original

"I was in the streets," Gerry says. "Young ... boosting. I went from boosting to selling pills to the big things. That's what I did for many years."

We also meet Anthony "Jook" Mims, Gotti's older brother.

12351982087?profile=original

"My mom real big, like she real known in North Memphis. She was like our John Gotti, really," Jook explains. "She supplied a lot of people in our apartments. She had that respect."

12351982256?profile=original

Gotti took the things he learned in the streets and applied them to his career. He's a success story by every definition and proof that as a young black man coming from a rough environment you can go legitimate and become a role model.

"Everybody went to jail," Gotti says. "It ain't no fucking rocket science that I was going to. I knew that and I had accepted that, but I was trying to beat the time if I could. If I could I was trying to beat the time, my time before the time came to switch my hustle. Which was the art of hustle. It's to take these same steps, these same rules, these same laws, these same principles and apply 'em. Into music, into real estate, into the restaurant business, into the trucking business, into the clothing business. Into all the shit that I do. That's the art of hustle."

The Estate of James Yancey has revived J Dilla’s longstanding company PayJay as a functioning imprint to release Dilla’s long lost vocal album, The Diary on April 15th, in conjunction with Mass Appeal Records. Initially intended for release in 2002, The Diary is the final batch of unissued material that Dilla had assembled for release during his lifetime, lending crucial insight into the producer’s prowess and thought process in the period leading up to his break with the major label system and the extremely fertile period that followed (which encompassed the making of the canonical classics Ruff Draft, Jaylib, and Donuts). The Diary features vocal performances by J Dilla, Snoop Dogg, Bilal, Kokane, Frank and Dank, Nottz and Boogie, over production by Dilla, Madlib, Pete Rock, Hi-tek, Nottz, House Shoes, Supa Dave West, Bink! and Karriem Riggins.

Video After The Jump

Chris Brown knows a hot song when he hears it. The superstar singer/songwriter will often put his own spin on tracks he likes, so it's not surprising that he was recently filmed in the studio remixing 50 Cent's Sonny Digital-produced banger "I'm the Man."

Check out the brief clip below and be sure to grab a copy of 50's original version now on iTunes https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/im-man-feat.-sonny-digital/id1081110677

Video And Pic After The Jump

After Nike terminated their contract with Manny Pacquiao on Wednesday, February 17, because of anti-gay remarks, the boxer doesn't seem to feel the need to bite his tongue anymore.

On Thursday morning he posted an Instagram photo with Bible scripture captions.

12351991480?profile=original

One of them states that gays should be put to death.

Leviticus 20:13: "If a man has sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They are to be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads."

In another passage Pacquiao takes aim at his detractors.

Luke 6:22-23"Blessed are you when people hate you, when they exclude you and insult you and reject your name as evil, because of the Son of Man. Rejoice in that day and leap for joy, because great is your reward in heaven. For that is how their ancestors treated the prophets."

The post had 18,000 likes before it was later deleted, but not before ABS-CBN was able to screen grab it.

12351991100?profile=original

As we previously reported, this controversy began earlier this week when Pac Man was being interviewed by TV5. He said at the time that men and women engaged in sexual acts with the same gender are "worse than animals"

"It's common sense. Will you see any animals where male is to male and female is to female?" The Filipino pugilist told TV5 on Monday, February 15. "The animals are better. They know how to distinguish male from female. If we approve [of] male on male, female on female, then man is worse than animals."

He later apologized in a video posted on his Twitter account.

"I'm sorry for hurting people by comparing homosexuals to animals," he says in a video. "Please forgive me for those I've hurt. God Bless!"

That wasn't enough to save his business relationship with Nike. On Wednesday the company parted ways with the former champion after nine-years.

"We find Manny Pacquiao's comments abhorrent," the company said in a statement. "Nike strongly opposes discrimination of any kind and has a long history of supporting and standing up for the rights of the LGBT community."

12351991699?profile=original

Pacquiao will step into the ring for the last time when he and Timothy Bradley face off on April 9 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The bout will air on HBO pay-per-view.

Will Pac Man's boxing legacy be tarnished by this controversy?

Audio After The Jump

Kanye West debuted the songs "Ultralight Beam" and "High Lights" On Saturday Night Live, February 13. He brought along special guests The-Dream, Young Thug, Chance the Rapper, El Debarge, Kirk Franklin and Kelly Price, making the performance even more memorable.

What fans didn't realize while enjoying the show is that is almost didn't happen. Angry about changes to the set, the combustible rapper threatened not to perform during an epic meltdown, which the New York Post's Page Six obtained.

West compared himself to Stanley Kubrick, Pablo Escobar, Pablo Picasso and Paul the Apostle during the tirade by saying he was more influential than all of them by 50 percent. He also dissed Taylor Swift.

12351988065?profile=original

"Look at that shit – they took my fucking stage off of SNL without asking me," West says. "Now I'm bummed. That and Taylor Swift, fake ass. Now I ain't gonna do this. We're breaking the mother fucking internet. I went through six years of this fucking shit. Let's get to it, bro. Let's get to it, bro," he continues. Are they fucking crazy? Whoa, by 50 percent. Stanley Kubrick, Picasso, Apostle Paul, fucking Picasso and Escobar. By 50 percent more influential than any other human being."

12351988467?profile=original

The yelling continued: "Don’t fuck with me. Don’t fuck with me. Don’t fuck with me," he warns. By 50 percent dead or alive, by 50 percent for the next 1,000 years. Stanley Kubrick. 'Ye."

12351988678?profile=original

Lorne Michaels

SNL guru Lorne Michaels was finally able to calm Yeezy down and he eventually took the stage.

A source explained to Entertainment Weekly that the "Jesus Walks" hit maker was caught off guard by the set changes that were made without his knowledge 30 minutes before he was to perform.

“He did not yell at SNL staff. The audio was secretly recorded while he was venting his frustration in a private moment with his team.” The source said. "The] stage design was taken apart anyone’s approval. He had spent an entire day rehearsing and [put] a lot of hard work into the performance. Dramatic set changes were made 30 minutes before going live. It should be understandable why he was upset after being completely blindsided.”

Video After The Jump

Kylie Jenner must not have gotten the Kanye West memo he tweeted out last week because she just signed a deal with PUMA.

West, who is under contract with Adidas, told his 19 million Twitter followers on February 9, that this would never happen.

12351977453?profile=original

"1000% there will never be a Kylie Puma anything. That's on my family! 1000% Kylie is on Yeezy team!!!" he declared. "Puma we gone give you your measly million dollars back!!! Never try to divide the family!!!"

12351977488?profile=original

12351977856?profile=original

On Wednesday, February 17, it was confirmed that the 18-year old reality television star had made it official.

“I am pleased and excited to be able to confirm that PUMA is indeed working with Kylie Jenner,” Adam Petrick, Global Director of Brand and Marketing for Puma, said in a statement. “Kylie will be featured in the brand’s Spring/Summer women’s training campaign launching in April 2016. Kylie represents a fresh and exciting new era for fashion and we couldn’t think of a more fitting and influential female to headline this campaign for Puma.”

There might be a whole lot of yelling going on tonight at the Jenner and Kardashian households.
