SANTA CLARA (KRON) – The Santa Clara County District Attorney’s office confirmed that former 49er star Dana Stubblefield has been sentenced to 15-years to life for rape.
On July 27 a jury found Stubblefield guilty of an assault that happened in 2015 at his home in Morgan Hill.
According to court documents, the developmentally disabled victim was interviewing for a babysitting job on April 9, 2015, when the incident occurred.
The case was tied up for years in legal arguments centering on Jane Doe’s mental capacity.
The verdict declared Stubblefield was guilty of rape by force, menace or fear, and guilty of using a firearm in commission of the crime.

A judge on Thursday dismissed a third-degree murder charge against Derek Chauvin, one of four former Minneapolis police officers charged in the death of George Floyd.
Chauvin, who was released from custody this month on $1 million bond, will still face charges of second-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter, Hennepin County Judge Peter A. Cahill ruled.
Video shows Chauvin pressing his knee onto Floyd’s neck for almost nine minutes while he is handcuffed and yelling that he can’t breathe.
Cahill also upheld the charges of aiding and abetting second-degree murder and aiding and abetting second-degree manslaughter against the officers – Tou Thao, Thomas K. Lane and J. Alexander Kueng – who were present at the time of the video.

A 25-year-old Arkansas woman was hit by a truck before being raped and buried by the driver, according to police.
Sydney Sutherland disappeared while out jogging on August 19; her body was found two days later in a remote field in Jackson County.
That same day, 28-year-old farmer Quake Lewellyn was arrested and charged with her murder, rape and kidnapping, as well as abuse of a corpse.
According to an affidavit obtained by the Arkansas Democrat Gazette, Lewellyn admitted while being interviewed by police that he rammed her with his pickup truck.
He said he then loaded her into his vehicle and drove her to a remote location, where he raped her, and then buried her, per the affidavit.
When her boyfriend Alex Nicholson reported her missing after she failed to return home, a massive search operation was launched.
Lewellyn even joined the Facebook group dedicated to finding the missing nurse.
Investigators found her phone about a quarter mile from her home, almost 2.5 miles from where her body was buried.
Police identified Lewellyn as a suspect when data from his own phone placed him in the remote area where the victim was discovered. He was arrested on August 21.
Lewellyn is currently in jail without bail, and is set to be arraigned October 29.

GONZALES, La. (WAFB) - Deputies with the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office say they have arrested a man accused of molesting an 11-year-old girl.
Authorities say their investigation began around 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 18 when they were dispatched to a local hospital.
Investigators say they learned Wendell Sanchez, 34, of Gonzales, brought a child, who had been complaining of abdominal pains, to the emergency room and was waiting outside in his vehicle.
Deputies say they were told by hospital staff the 11-year-old child was pregnant and Sanchez was believed to be the father.
Sanchez left the hospital in his vehicle and then abandoned his vehicle and ran off to a nearby apartment complex, according to the sheriff’s office.
Deputies say with the help of the Gonzales Police Department, they found Sanchez hiding on the patio of a home.
While arresting Sanchez, deputies found him in possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia, according to deputies.
Sanchez was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail on charges of first-degree rape with a victim under the age of 13, resisting an officer, possession of schedule II CDS, drug paraphernalia, criminal trespass, simple criminal damage to property, possession of marijuana, illegal use of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of person under 17, creation of a clandestine lab, no drivers license, and no tail lamps.
His bond is set at $540,000.

On the emcee tip, he invited along Rome Streetz, Estee Nack, Hus Kingpin, G4Jag, Napoleon Da Legend, Billie Essco, Ty Farris, Jae Skeese, and Lxve The Genius. While on the boards he collaborated with Camo Monk on three joints once again, and did one with another Buffalo beatmaker, CeeGee.
Now, to spark off this high profile affair Deuce is unleashing the lead single titled “RZA’s Keyboard” featuring Rome Streetz and Popa Wu (RIP). As the name suggests, the beat was concocted on RZA’s old keyboard, which was given to Deuce by his mentor Popa Wu. Deuce also recorded The Clan elder dropping mad knowledge, which he uses a snippet of on this special cut to tribute the late great.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Purdue Pharma, the company that makes OxyContin, the powerful prescription painkiller that experts say helped touch off an opioid epidemic, will plead guilty to three federal criminal charges as part of a settlement of more than $8 billion, Justice Department officials told The Associated Press.
The company will plead guilty to three counts, including conspiracy to defraud the United States and violating federal anti-kickback laws, the officials said. The resolution will be detailed in a bankruptcy court filing in federal court.
The deal does not release any of the company’s executives or owners — members of the wealthy Sackler family — from criminal liability. A criminal investigation is ongoing.
The officials were not authorized to discuss the investigation publicly and spoke on condition of anonymity.
The settlement is the highest-profile display yet of the federal government seeking to hold a major drugmaker responsible for an opioid addiction and overdose crisis linked to more than 470,000 deaths in the country since 2000.
As part of the resolution, Purdue will admit that it impeded the Drug Enforcement Administration by falsely representing that it had maintained an effective program to avoid drug diversion and by reporting misleading information to the agency to boost the company’s manufacturing quotas, the officials said.
A Justice Department official said Purdue had been representing to the DEA that it had “robust controls” to avoid opioid diversion but instead had been “disregarding red flags their own systems were sending up.”
Purdue will also admit to violating federal anti-kickback laws by paying doctors, through a speaking program, to induce them to write more prescriptions for the company’s opioids and for using electronic health records software to influence the prescription of pain medication, according to the officials.
Purdue will make a direct payment to the government of $225 million, which is part of a larger $2 billion criminal forfeiture. In addition to that forfeiture, Purdue also faces a $3.54 billion criminal fine, though that money probably will not be fully collected because it will be taken through a bankruptcy, which includes a large number of other creditors. Purdue will also agree to $2.8 billion in damages to resolve its civil liability.

The rapper proclaimed his innocence for the first time on video Tuesday, hopping on Instagram Live to defend himself against Megan's accusations, and he really raised eyebrows when he said, in his book, they're still pals.
The friendship sounds like news to Meg.
"This Nigga genuinely crazy," she tweeted following his IG Live.
It's not like they can hang out as friends anymore anyways ... Tory was ordered to stay the hell away from MTS after a hearing on his felony assault charge in connection with the shooting.
Tory's now calling the shooting a "debacle" and says the only people who really know what happened are him and Meg. Seems he's forgetting Meg's friend and his chauffeur were also there when a gun went off during an argument.
Tory says he's not talking down to Meg or disrespecting her, but says he's tired of his name and character being assassinated for something he "did not do."
