The governor of California has signed a new "Kobe Bryant Law" -- which makes it a crime for first responders to take unauthorized pictures of a dead person at an accident scene.

The measure -- which takes effect on January 1st -- was triggered by the aftermath of the Kobe Bryant helicopter crash ... when 8 local deputies were accused of taking or sharing death pics for unofficial business.

In fact, at least one deputy was accused of using a Kobe death photo to try and pick up a woman at a bar.

But, on Monday, Gov. Gavin Newsom signed the bill which will make it a misdemeanor for a first responder to take or share pics from an accident or crime scene for any purpose outside official law enforcement or genuine public interest.

Kobe's widow, Vanessa Bryant, has already filed a lawsuit against the L.A. County Sheriff's Office over the alleged accident photo scandal. She's suing for negligence, invasion of privacy and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

Kobe, along with his 13-year-old daughter Gianna and 7 other people, was killed in the January 26 incident when their chopper crashed in Calabasas on an extremely foggy day.

(CNN) A Louisiana police officer who claimed he was shot while on duty had instead shot himself in the leg, Deputy Chief Darrell B. Basco of the Pineville Police Department Administrative Bureau told CNN.

John Michael Goulart Jr., 25, was arrested Tuesday and charged with one count of criminal mischief and one count of malfeasance in office after falsely claiming he'd been shot, according to Basco.

"The investigation led to a determination that the officer shot himself, concealed and altered the facts," according to a statement from Basco.

Around 11:50 p.m. Sunday night, Goulart, who was on duty, reported that he had been shot, according to Basco. He was transported to a local hospital where he was treated and released.

Two rounds were fired, according to Basco. One hit Goulart in the leg and the other hit the door of his vehicle. "Everything shows it was an accidental discharge," Basco said.

However, he added that accidental discharge incidents require a review by the chief of police and raise the possibility of disciplinary action.

Goulart was booked at the Rapides Parish Detention Center, according to jail records. Basco told CNN that the charges Goulart faces are brought when an individual allegedly files a false police report. Goulart posted a $10,500 bond less than an hour after he was booked and remains on administrative leave.

Why Doesn't Hip Hop Respect DJ Vlad? (Video)

Video After The Jump

Across the glorious and chequered pages of hip-hop history, instigators have always played a crucial role. Born of both purposeful actions and seemingly meaningless remarks that’d be blown out of proportion, the genre operates with an inherently short fuse. Nowadays, within a hip-hop media realm that requires sensationalised news to come churning off the assembly line, troublemakers are god-sends. Meaning that, whether it’s Soulja Boy, Tekashi 6ix9ine’s trolling sprees, Kodak Black’s unchecked disrespect, or 50 Cent acting as a cultural debt collector, these artists never fail to leave headlines in their wake. But when it comes to hip-hop figures that excels in manufacturing chaos, few have come close to DJ Vlad.

Over the last year, many have expressed concerns for former NBA player Delonte West's well-being. The latest is Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban. Cuban picked up the now homeless West at a gas station this week and offered to pay for treatment at a drug rehabilitation facility, according to ESPN.

On Tuesday, The Athletic's Shams Charania reported that West took Cuban up on that offer and has checked into a rehab facility in Florida.

Cuban has been trying to reach West, 37, by phone for days, and when he finally was able to connect with him, West agreed to a meeting. Cuban's call to assist West came after TMZ published a photo of West panhandling in Dallas on Sept. 24. After seeing the photo, the Mavericks owner reached out to West's mother, Delphina Addison, according to The Athletic. She told Cuban the best course of action was to find West. Once Cuban was with West, he waited with the former NBA player in a Texas hotel until Addison arrived.

West was diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2008 and has publicly struggled financially in recent years. Countless former and current NBA players, as well as people from around the sports world, asked the public not to mock West after a video of him getting handcuffed by police in Washington, D.C., went viral in January.

During his time in the NBA, West was open about his bipolar disorder diagnosis. While with the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2008, West got into a heated argument with a referee during a preseason scrimmage. So heated that afterward, West admitted he "needed help" and agreed to go see a therapist.

"In a sense, you feel like a weaker man, because you have to raise your hand and ask for help," he said after being diagnosed by that therapist, according to Slate. "But I found out over the last week that it made me a stronger person. I came back focused, and with the help of some medicine and talking with people on a regular basis, I'm back in good spirits."

West last played in the NBA in 2012. He has two sons with his wife Caressa Madden.

Dr. Dre is firing back at the request of his estranged wife's demand for nearly $2 mil a month in temporary spousal support, claiming he's already footing the bill for her every need and, according to the legal docs, her lawyers have already made more money off the 2-month old divorce than most Los Angelenos make in a year.

Dre says he's letting Nicole stay in HIS Malibu mansion, which he claims is worth $20 mil to $25 mil. It's interesting he describes the home as his and his alone. As we reported, the biggest bone of contention is the prenup, which could explain why he says the mansion is his.

Dre says his security brings Nicole meals prepared by his private chefs 3 to 5 times a week.

Dre also says all of Nicole's expenses are already covered by him, noting his business manager pays her AmEx Centurion Black Card, and those bills range from $150,000 a month to $350,000 per month.

Dre. says aside from what he calls "unauthorized charges for [Nicole's] attorney's fees," all of her expenses have been paid. As we reported, her lawyers are seeking $5 mil in fees.

Dre. says, "This all seems like the wrath of an angry person being exacerbated by opportunistic lawyers."

Dre also grouses that he has offered to pay her lawyers an additional $350,000 through the end of the year, but then learned she took nearly $400,000 out of his record company's business account. He says, nevertheless, he's willing to pay her fees."

NBA Youngboy was arrested in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on Monday night, Page Six can confirm.

The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office told us the 20-year-old rapper, whose real name is Kentrell DeSean Gaulden, is still in custody as of Tuesday morning. A court date or bond has not been set yet.

According to local news outlets, NBA Youngboy was allegedly among a group of 16 people who were arrested for firearm possession and faces a number of drug, felony possession, and stolen firearms charges.

A fan-recorded video circulating online claims the rapper was in the middle of shooting his new music video for “Choppa City.” However, we were unable to confirm that information.

NBA Youngboy has deleted all of his social media, including his Instagram and Twitter, as reports of the arrest surfaced.

In March, a woman said to be NBA Youngboy’s girlfriend was injured in a deadly shootout outside of Trump International Beach Resort Miami. The rapper was slated to perform at the Rolling Loud music festival in Miami Gardens that day.

NBA Youngboy has reportedly also been in an on-again, off-again relationship with Floyd Mayweather’s daughter, Yaya Mayweather.

The 19-year-old recently sparked pregnancy rumors with a video she posted of herself dancing on TikTok. NBA Youngboy is believed to be the father of her child.

The late Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman continues to inspire people more than a month after his death.

Actress Sienna Miller, who worked with Boseman on the film 21 Bridges, told Empire Magazine that Boseman took a pay cut to make sure she was paid fairly for her work in the film.

Miller said she was not given the salary she asked for. She said it was at a time when she was exhausted and seriously considering not being part of the film.

She said Boseman gave some of his own paycheck directly to her so she could be compensated fairly.

"It was about the most astounding thing that I've experienced," she said. "That kind of thing just doesn't happen. He said, 'You're getting paid what you deserve, and what you're worth.'"

Boseman died in August after a secret years-long battle with cancer. He was 43 years old.

"I didn't know whether or not to tell this story, and I haven't yet," Miller told Empire Magazine. "But I am going to tell it, because I think it's a testament to who he was."

Video After The Jump

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – President Donald Trump’s former campaign manager Brad Parscale was acting “irate” before he pulled out a gun and cocked it at his Florida home Sunday, his wife told police.

Body camera footage from Fort Lauderdale police released Monday shows officers responding to Parscale’s home in an upscale neighborhood, where he allegedly threatened to harm himself in a home filled with multiple firearms.

His wife, Candice, told officers that he was acting “crazy” and “irate," and that she went to the back yard “to let him just like chill out.” She said when he came out of his office and cocked a gun, she decided to go into the front yard.

That’s when, she said, he looked out into the front yard and a “loud boom” followed. She suspected the noise may have been a gunshot.

In the video, an officer can be heard making contact with Brad Parscale, who was still at the house, over the phone. The officer asked him to leave the house without a weapon.

In parts of the video, officers can be seen preparing themselves with bulletproof vests and helmets.

Moments later, an officer made contact with Brad Parscale outside his home. Parscale approached an officer, shirtless and with a can in his hand, saying “I’m your friend" and that he wasn’t going to harm anyone.

As Parscale was giving an explanation to one officer, another officer tackles Parscale and at least five other officers help detain him.

As he’s on the floor, he’s heard saying, “I didn’t do anything” several times. He also told police he did not have any weapons on him.

He was hospitalized Sunday under the state’s Baker Act. That act allows anyone deemed to be a threat to themselves or others to be detained for 72 hours for psychiatric evaluation.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - Brett Hankison, the former LMPD detective involved in the deadly Breonna Taylor raid, pleaded not guilty during his video arraignment Monday.

Hankison was one of three LMPD narcotics officers who fired their weapons the night Taylor was shot dead in her Louisville apartment in March. He was fired in June and charged last week with three counts of wanton endangerment for “blindly” firing into neighboring apartments. None of the officers was charged directly in Taylor’s death.

Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron cleared the other two officers -- Sgt. Jon Mattingly and Det. Myles Cosgrove -- of any wrongdoing.

Hankison, who paid his $15,000 bond after turning himself in last week, pleaded not guilty to those three counts. A judge on Monday ordered him to have no firearms despite his attorney’s argument that he might need to protect himself.

Hankison is due back in court for a pretrial conference on Oct. 28.
