Kim Kardashian West needs to stop trying to save convicted killer Brandon Bernard from being executed because she's not considering the pain of the family he destroyed ... so says a member of that family.

Dana Ladd, the stepsister of one of Bernard's victims, Stacie Bagley, tells TMZ ... Bernard deserves to be executed by lethal injection Thursday at a penitentiary in Terre Haute, Indiana despite Kim's desperate pleas to the White House to spare his life.

Ladd says, "I want her to think about if it was one of her children that Bernard did that to -- would she feel differently? It's easy for people to say things when they don't have similar experiences."

A source close to Kim tells us her heart breaks for both sides and in no way has she meant for her efforts to diminish the loss of Stacie. Kim says she knows what Brandon did was wrong, but taking his life won't make things right.

Bernard was 18 in 1999 when he was involved in the brutal kidnapping and killing of Todd and Stacie Bagley. While Bernard was not the trigger man, he put the victim's bodies in the trunk of a car and set it on fire.

Dana says during his trial, Bernard never showed remorse. Our Kim sources say she's spoken directly to Brandon, who has repeatedly said he's sorry for his role in Stacie's murder ... his remorse and his young family are major reasons why she got involved in his case.

Another defendant in that case, Christopher Vialva, who shot the couple in the head, was executed back in September. There were 3 other teenagers involved and they received long prison sentences ... while Vialva and Bernard got the death penalty.

As you might know ... Kim's been tweeting constantly since bringing Bernard's case to light last month. She had tweeted Bernard has only seen his kids through a glass, a tweet that really got to Dana.

Dana says, "Bernard was able to see his family through glass, but we'll never be able to see Stacie anymore. He has a daughter -- what would he think if someone did that to his daughter?" Dana says ... Bernard's getting what he deserves and nothing more.

She added, "A sin is a sin -- consequences of those sins will play out and that's what's happening today."

A Bradenton woman stuffed the body of a 40-year-old man into a trash can after he died to keep collecting his Social Security benefits, investigators said.

Michelle Haney, 48, was arrested Wednesday by Manatee County Sheriff’s deputies and is now facing charges of abuse of a corpse, news outlets reported.

Investigators said Haney told them Jon Christopher Leonard died in July of what appeared to be natural causes. His body was found in a trash can being stored at a neighbor’s home.

Haney and Leonard had been living together at the time. Instead of calling authorities, investigators said Haney stored Leonard’s body in a closet, before sealing it in a trash can three weeks later.

She then took the trash can to a neighbor’s house, and told the neighbor that she’d be back for it later. Investigators said the neighbor was apparently unaware of what was inside. He called authorities after he smelled an odor and opened the container.

Haney told investigators that she kept the body so she could continue receiving his benefits.

She remains in the Manatee County Jail on $7,500 bail.

Kewon Dontrell White, 21, was arrested Wednesday on a firearms charge and was taken into federal custody. Dallas police officials said White will face a murder charge in connection with the death of Mo3.

Police said around noon on Nov. 11, 28-year-old Melvin A. Noble, better known as rapper Mo3, was driving northbound on Interstate 35E near Illinois Avenue and Clarendon Drive when he was shot and killed by a suspect who fled in a black Chevy Camero.

A week later, officials sent out the photos of the suspect, asking for the public's help identifying the suspect.

Police said during the course of the investigation, White was identified by a witness as the suspect. An arrest warrant was issued on Tues. Dec. 8.

G Herbo appeared via Zoom, in front of a federal judge Wednesday in Massachusetts and entered a not guilty plea in his federal fraud case.

According to TMZ, Herbo, real name Herbert Wright III, posted $75,000 bail.

As part of the conditions of his bail the Chicago rapper had to surrender his passport, is barred from opening any new lines of credit, can't sell or give away any assets worth more than $50,000 and cannot travel domestically without permission.

Herbo is accused of being the ringleader of a $1.5 million scheme in which stolen credit card information, acquired from the dark web was used to fund his lavish lifestyle. He's been charged with conspiracy to commit wire fraud and identity theft.

The illegal money was used to fund trips on private jets, exotic car rentals, luxury vacation rentals and designer puppies.

Antonio Strong and Joseph Williams aka “Joe Rodeo” or “Rockstar Rodie” also face charges.

Chicago Tribune journalist Jason Meisner tweeted from court that Herbo's ex-girlfriend Ari Fletcher will be called to testify in the case.

"Prosecutors also identified one of the witnesses in the case as a woman with initials “A.F.” who shares a child with Wright from their previous relationship," Meisner wrote. "Records show she is Ariana Fletcher, of Atlanta. Wright was ordered not to speak with her about the allegations."

"Three Stories" is a vintage song from Prodigy off of Mobb Deep's 2004 "Infamous Allegiance, Pt. 1" CD/DVD combo. The third story is about his good friend E-Money Bags (R.I.P.), who was killed in 2001 after Supreme Team leader Kenneth "Supreme" McGriff put a hit out on him during their beef.

"Infamous Allegiance, Pt. 1" the CD can be found on hard copy, but it's very expensive. It's not available to stream either.

R.I.P. to the late, great Prodigy

MINNEAPOLIS (FOX 9) - A high school student in Minneapolis has been recognized with a prestigious national courage award for filming the arrest and death of George Floyd.

Barack Obama, Madeleine Albright, Spike Lee were among the famous names who took part in a virtual PEN America gala Tuesday night to honor those protecting freedom of speech and the power of words.

Among six honorees was Minneapolis high school senior Darnella Frazier.

"A young woman whose cell phone and fearlessness may have changed the world, Darnella Frazier, remember that name," said Franklin Leonard, the host of the gala.

PEN America is a national literary and human rights organization. The work they’re highlighting this year, they say, is more important than ever, including the actions of Frazier.

The teen virtually accepted her PEN Benenson Courage Award, which was presented by film director Spike Lee, for her actions on May 25.

"My sister, I commend you and you deserve this award," said Lee.

The 17-year-old took out her cell phone on the corner of 38th and Chicago and filmed former Minneapolis Police officer Derek Chauvin kneeling on the neck of George Floyd for nearly nine minutes. Chauvin is now facing murder charges.

"It’s just a lot to take in, but I couldn’t say thank you enough for everything that’s been coming towards me," said Frazier.

The teen’s video sparked worldwide protests and a path for change.

"Thank you Darnella," said Anita Hill. "Your thinking and bravery under immense pressure has made the world safer and more, just thank you."

The young woman said she is still taking in what it means to be one person who can make a big difference.

"I never would’ve imagined out of my whole 17 years of living that this would be me," said Frazier.

Gabourey Sidibe didn't need a super offensive photo to check Twista for posting a disgusting, bullying meme -- she just destroyed him with words, and even got him to apologize ... but that may not be nearly enough.

The "Precious" star brilliantly clapped back at the fast-spitting MC after he posted a meme displaying a side-by-side photo of her and model Bernice Burgos. Gabourey's captioned "Option A," adding she's super successful while Bernice is listed as "Option B" ... a couch surfer with no car, 3 kids and 12K Instagram followers.

Twista then asked his 438K followers "Who y'all choosing A or B."

Once Gabourey got word of the meme, she obliterated him, saying ... "Wow. I um…. gee. @twistagmg I only like you as a rapper I forgot about in 2005. But good luck with option B!" She added a kissing emoji ... for good measure.

Twista deleted the post but furious reactions continued, like this one ... "Twista a bitch for this post and you are the lowest of the low."

Twista's now apologized ... telling The Shade Room it was an "honest mistake," adding "I was traveling most of the day when I saw the mistake. I immediately had it taken down. I don't know her directly but my sincere apologies to her."

Looks like someone needs to make an appearance on "Red Table Talk."

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Minneapolis City Council members who tried unsuccessfully to dismantle the police department in response to George Floyd’s death are voting Wednesday on whether to shrink it, a move that could imperil the entire city budget because the mayor is threatening to use his veto to protect public safety amid soaring crime rates.

The plan, which supporters call “Safety for All,” is the latest version of the “defund the police” movement that Minneapolis and other cities have considered since Floyd’s May 25 death ignited mass demonstrations against police brutality and a nationwide reckoning with racism.

Eleven of the 13 council members have already cast committee votes in favor of the largest parts of the plan, signaling that passage is likely. It would cut nearly $8 million from Mayor Jacob Frey’s $179 million policing budget and redirect it to mental health teams, violence prevention programs and other initiatives.

“I am actively considering a veto due to the massive, permanent cut to officer capacity,” Frey said in a statement Monday night. Reducing the authorized size of the force by 138 officers before enacting alternatives is ”irresponsible,” he said.

Cities around the U.S., including Los Angeles, New York City and Portland, Oregon, are shifting funds from police departments to social services programs in an effort to provide new solutions for problems traditionally handled by police. Such cuts have led some departments to lay off officers, cancel recruiting classes or retreat from hiring goals.

In Minneapolis, violent crime rates have surged since the death of Floyd, a Black man who was handcuffed and pleading for air for several minutes while Derek Chauvin, a white former officer, pressed his knee against his neck. Chauvin and three others were charged in Floyd’s death and are expected to stand trial in March.

Police have recorded 532 gunshot victims this year as of last Thursday, more than double the same period a year ago. Carjackings have also spiked to 375 so far this year, up 331% from the same period last year. Violent crimes have topped 5,100, compared with just over 4,000 for the same period in 2019.

“This summer happened because George Floyd was murdered by the Minneapolis Police Department and it wasn’t an accident, it’s because the system of policing we know now is not just racist, but it doesn’t create safety for all,” said Oluchi Omeoga, a cofounder of Black Visions, which supports “Safety for All” as a step toward more transformational change.

Due to austerity forced by the coronavirus pandemic, the mayor’s proposal already bakes in a $14 million cut to the department compared with its original 2020 budget, mostly through attrition. Frey aims to hold the number of sworn officers around 770 through 2021 with hopes of eventually increasing the force to its current authorized cap of 888. “Safety for All” would cap the number at 750 by 2022. The department is already down by about 120 — partly due to officers claiming post-traumatic stress disorder from a summer of unrest — with more preparing to leave amid retirements and poor morale.

Passions ran hot on both sides as more than 400 citizens signed up to speak during a marathon hearing last week that ran into the early hours Thursday, with many expressing alarm that the council was even contemplating cuts.

“I think we need to make bold decisions on a path forward,” said Council Member Steve Fletcher, a coauthor of the proposal. While acknowledging that it would mean fewer officers, he defended the plan by saying it would reduce the department’s workload by shifting 911 calls away from armed officers to other specialists such as mental health professionals.

“Combined those investments add up to a safer city for everybody and an approach that creates a more sustainable public safety system for our city,” Fletcher said in an interview.

On the other side are those like Frey and Police Chief Medaria Arradondo who say there’s no need for an either-or decision — that it’s possible to reform policing without cutting officers. The mayor and 12 of the 13 council members are Democrats; one council member is from the Green Party.

If the council approves the plan Wednesday night, Frey would have five days to veto if he chooses. The council could override him with a two-thirds majority, or nine council members, but it’s not clear whether those nine votes exist. The proposal to cap the number of officers passed with just 7 of 13 votes in committee Monday.

A proposal over the summer to dismantle the department and replace it with a “Department of Community Safety and Violence Prevention” initially had support from a majority of the council but faltered when a separate city commission voted against putting it on the November ballot. The city was paying $4,500 a day at one point for private security for three council members who reported getting threats after supporting defunding.

Bill Rodriguez of Minneapolis, part of a community group called Safety Now Minneapolis that formed recently in response to rising crime, said his group supports police reform by funding many of the programs the council wants to fund: expanding violence prevention programs, programs aimed at intervening safely with people suffering mental health issues and finding ways to respond to some 911 incidents without police officers.

But he said cutting police officers is a bad idea and was sharply critical of council members who he said “can’t get beyond” their vow this summer to abolish or defund police.

“They are hell-bent on their agenda,” Rodriguez said. “Everything they do has that taste on it. ... They’re still making this up as they go along. We’ve got a City Council being run by a bunch of inexperienced activists who have never run anything in their lives.”

A Boogie wit da Hoodie was arrested in New Jersey on Monday (Dec. 7) on charges of unlawful possession of a handgun and possession of marijuana, according to a release from Bergen County prosecutor Mark Musella.

The 25-year-old rapper, born Artist J. Dubose, was arrested following a search warrant at his Demarest home, which resulted in the seizure of four guns -- a Ruger .380 handgun, a Glock .40 caliber handgun, an H&K 9mm handgun and a Smith and Wesson 9mm handgun. Hollow point bullets, various high capacity magazines, marijuana, hashish oil edibles and drug paraphernalia were also found, according to prosecutors.

Dubose's manager Samblou Camara was arrested on a possession of marijuana charge, as was security member Quashaun Hagler on unlawful possession of a handgun and possession of a large capacity magazine charges.

All three were released on their own recognizance, pending their first appearances in Central Judicial Processing Court.
