INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — The former employee who shot & killed 8 people at a FedEx facility in Indianapolis legally purchased the 2 assault rifles used in the attack despite red flag laws designed to prevent that, police said.

A trace of the 2 guns found by investigators at the scene revealed that suspect Brandon Scott Hole, 19, of Indianapolis, legally bought the rifles in July & September of last year.

IMPD did not share where Hole bought the guns, citing the ongoing investigation, but said Hole was witnessed using both rifles during the assault.

Deputy Police Chief Craig McCartt said Hole began firing randomly at people in the parking lot of the FedEx facility late Thursday, killing 4, before entering the building, fatally shooting 4 more people and then turning the gun on himself.

Paul Keenan, special agent in charge of the FBI’s Indianapolis field office, has said that agents questioned Hole last year after his mother called police to say that her son might commit “suicide by cop.” He said the FBI was called after items were found in Hole’s bedroom but he did not elaborate on what they were. He said agents found no evidence of a crime & that they did not identify Hole as espousing a racially motivated ideology.

A police report shows that officers seized a pump-action shotgun from Hole’s home after responding to the mother’s call. Keenan said the gun was never returned.

Indiana has had a “red flag law” allowing police or courts to seize guns from people who show warning signs of violence since 2005, when it became one of the first states to enact such a law after an Indianapolis police officer was killed by a man whose weapons had to be returned despite hospitalization months earlier for an emergency mental health evaluation.

The law is intended to prevent people from purchasing or possessing a firearm if they are found by a judge to present “an imminent risk” to themselves or others.

McCartt said Hole was a former employee of FedEx & last worked for the company in 2020. The deputy police chief said he did not know why Hole left the job or if he had ties to the workers in the facility. He said police have not yet uncovered a motive for the shooting.

Lil Durk's concert was cut short Saturday night after gunshots rang out concert in Phoenix at the Celebrity Theatre.

Durk was performing at the Celebrity Theatre in Phoenix when the crowd of 10,000 heard gunfire erupt. The crowd scrambled as people fought to flee the venue.

The Phoenix PD says they couldn't locate anyone who was directly hit by bullets & reports that one woman was grazed in the leg by a bullet are not true. Phoenix Police say It was reported to their team that the injury was not from gunfire. A few people suffered non-life-threatening injuries from attempting to fleeing the area. This is an ongoing investigation.

Durk seemed upset about something when he posted, "10k people sold out & no drama stop tryna stop us." He posted this before the gunfire but during the concert. It's unclear the drama to which he was referring.

The event was tagged, "Smurkchella," as Lil Durk & other rappers hit the stage.

Various videos were posted showing the mad dash to the exits as the crowd tried to get out of harm's way. Chairs were knocked over, people screaming ... the works.

The show abruptly stopped & that was the end of it.

So far, no suspects are in custody.

After a rough week since the passing of famed rapper DMX, the hip hop community is now mourning the loss of another star. According to close friends such as Mario Winans who posted about his passing on IG, Black Rob has sadly passed away.

Last week, video surfaced of Rob in a hospital bed. That caught many fans off-guard considering that we hadn’t heard from or seen him for quite sometime. While there, he shared his condolences to X. “I feel everything about X,” he said in the clip that DJ Self posted. “X was positive. Love to X.”

In the days that came afterward, Rob would reveal that he was also homeless and battling health issues including kidney failure, which DJ Self confirmed. “Oh man, I’ve been dealing with this for five years. Four strokes … I don’t know what to tell you man. Shit is crazy. The shit is hard,” he admitted. “I don’t got no house to live in — except maybe an apartment. Me and my man be trying to get together. I’m telling you man, this shit is strange. It’s hard, you know what I’m saying?”

Diddy reached out to help Rob anyway he could — and did just that — which another former Bad Boy rapper Mark Curry admitted on social media. “And you are reaching out, and you’re trying to help,” Curry said about Puff’s assistance. “We not going to say he’s not — Puffy is really trying to help.” As a former recording artist on Bad Boy Records, Puff wanted to make sure that Rob was taken care of in the best way possible.

According to HealthLine.com, kidney failure occurs when your kidneys loss the ability to effectively filter waste out of a person’s blood, which then causes the person to have excess toxics backed up in their body that can negatively affect their health and ultimately be life-threatening.

The early stages of kidney disease often have little to no symptoms for the person who has it, which is why it’s called the “silent disease,” and many realize they have it when it’s too late and their kidneys have been damaged to the most severe point.

The officer who fatally shot 13-year-old Adam Toledo in Chicago has been identified Eric Stillman. He was named in police reports provided by Civilian Office of Police Accountability (COPA), which is currently investigating the incident. Stillman's attorney, Timothy M. Grace, confirmed his identity in a statement & noted he had been placed on administrative duties for 30 days.

The Chicago shooting happened in the early morning of March 29 when 2 police officers responded to reports of gunfire. They saw 2 people in an alley & chased after them. Authorities released extensive video from body-worn cameras, surveillance footage, gunfire detection data & 911 recordings on April 15 that further show the events of the night.

Toledo is seen in a video holding what may be a gun behind his back before dropping it behind a fence. Stillman is heard shouting for him to put his hands in the air, & as Toledo appeared to be lifting his hands in the air, the officer opened fire & a bullet struck the boy in the chest. Stillman & another officer attempted chest compressions on Toledo, but he was pronounced dead on the scene.

Stillman's attorney said in a statement that, "The juvenile offender had the gun in his right hand, came to a fence, looked at the officer which could be interpreted as attempting to acquire a target & began to turn to face the officer attempting to swing the gun in his direction.… The officer had no place to take cover or concealment, the gun was being orientate[d] in his direction & he was left with no other option."

Adeena Weiss Ortiz, an attorney for the Toledo family, said at a press conference on Thursday that family wanted to emphasize that the teenager did not have a gun in his hand at the exact moment he was shot.

"If he had a gun, he tossed it.… The officer said, 'Show me your hands,' [& Toledo] complied," Weiss Ortiz said. "[The officer] is trained to not shoot somebody unarmed. He is trained to look, he is trained not to panic."

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Police were working Friday to identify a gunman & determine his motive for opening fire at a FedEx facility near the Indianapolis airport, killing 8 people & taking his own life in the latest mass shooting to rock the U.S.

Deputy Chief Craig McCartt of the Indianapolis police said the gunman started randomly shooting at people in the parking lot late Thursday night & then went into the building & continued firing. He said the gunman apparently died by suicide shortly before police entered the building.

“There was no confrontation with anyone that was there,” he said. “There was no disturbance, there was no argument. He just appeared to randomly start shooting.”

McCartt said 4 people were killed outside the FedEx processing facility & another 4 inside. Several people were also wounded, including 5 taken to the hospital.

The carnage took just a couple of minutes. “It did not last very long,” he said.

Officials with the coroner’s office said they have not been able to get to the scene to identify the victims because evidence is still being collected.

In the wake of the shootings, Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett said the community must guard against resignation & “the assumption that this is how it must be & we might as well get used to it.”

It was the latest in a recent string of mass shootings across the U.S. Last month, 8 people were fatally shot at massage businesses across the Atlanta area & 10 died in gunfire at a supermarket in Boulder, Colorado.

A witness said that he was working inside the building when he heard several gunshots in rapid succession.

“I see a man come out with a rifle in his hand & he starts firing and he starts yelling stuff that I could not understand,” Levi Miller told WTHR-TV. “What I ended up doing was ducking down to make sure he did not see me because I thought he would see me and he would shoot me.”

Juelz Santana is staying grounded in New Jersey, a judge just denied his big trip to sunny South Florida -- this after the feds claim the rapper failed a drug test -- but his team believes it's a mistake.

According to new legal docs, the Dipset MC was asking for permission to fly down to Miami this month for work, but when he asked the court for approval, the feds said he wasn't fully following the rules of his supervised release, and a judge put the kibosh on the whole thing.

Remember ... Juelz is on supervised release after serving 19 months in prison as part of a 27-month sentence in his airport drug case. So, he has to get permission to travel outside NJ, and take mandatory drug tests.

In the docs, obtained by TMZ, the feds claim Juelz was planning to travel to Miami with 2 convicted felons -- a no-no under supervised release -- and the Assistant U.S. Attorney also says his recent urine sample tested positive for opiates and methadone.

Add it all up, and the judge ended up denying the request.

Juelz's attorney, Jef Henninger, tells TMZ ... Juelz will follow the rules for travel requests going forward and will hang out with "the right people." We're told his camp believes the drug test was a false positive.

CHICAGO (AP) — Body camera footage of a Chicago police officer fatally shooting a 13-year-old boy last month shows the officer yelling “Drop it!” at the teen right before he opens fire.

A still frame taken from the jumpy nighttime footage appears to show that Adam Toledo wasn’t holding anything and had his hands up, or partially up, when the officer shot him in the chest. Police say the teen had a handgun on him that morning, and the bodycam footage shows the officer shining a light on a handgun on the ground near Toledo after he shot him.

The footage shows that it took 19 seconds from which the officer exited his squad car to when he shot the teen. After getting out of the vehicle, the officer chases Toledo on foot down an alley for several seconds and yells “Police! Stop! Stop right (expletive) now!”

As the teen slows down, the officer yells “Hands! Hands! Show me your (expletive) hands!”

Toledo then turns toward the camera, the officer yells “Drop it!” and midway between repeating that command, he opens fire and the teen falls down. While approaching the wounded Toledo, the officer radios in for an ambulance. He can be heard imploring the boy to “stay awake,” and as other officers arrive, the officer who apparently fired the shot says he can’t feel a heartbeat and begins administering CPR. Other officers can be heard imploring Toledo to stay awake.

Before the video and other investigation materials were posted on the Civilian Office of Police Accountability’s website, Mayor Lori Lightfoot held a news conference during which she urged the public to remain peaceful and reserve judgment until the independent board can complete its investigation.
