50 Cent is set to sign British star Jamelia to his record label- according to reports. The rapper hooked up with the Superstar singer when he was in the UK recently for the Dead Man Running premiere. And apparently she’s exactly what Fiddy wants for his G Unit group of artists. He was reportedly impressed by Jamelia’s attitude and is keen to sign a girl to the label. Jamelia recently revealed she’s been working with a host of US producers, but signing with Mr. Cent will certainly open more doors. Watch her music video "Superstar" below

There are no more breaks in the music industry, especially in the streets. During the holiday season, cats were either dropping mixtapes or hyping up releases that are soon to come. Fab, don't worry. We're not gonna sweat you over not dropping on Christmas as promised. As long as you bring that Loso quality, we'll wait. Lupe and DJ Absolut coming soon? We're definitely anticipating that one, as well as Jay Electronica's new tape. Is there anything out right now as dope as "Exhibit C"? Styles P and Green Lantern coming next month? Young Jeezy promising to come any day now? 2010 is going to be a nutty first quarter, and that's just on the streets. In any event, here is a special edition of Don't Sleep, where we highlight some of the tapes that came in the past several days. Don't Sleep: Necessary Notables » Lloyd Banks' V5 DJ Collaborator: DJ Whoo Kid

Necessary Notes: Banks isn't pulling any punches. You should've seen all the smiles on the faces on Jamaica Avenue in Queens when the bootlegger opened up a box of brand-new burned copies of Banks' latest installment of microphone terror. Banks sounds a little hungrier on this one (his voice is raspier and louder on tracks like "Sh---y City 2"). The early word from the Unit is that the crazy mofo named Banko is going to actually drop an LP this year in addition to all the underground heat. Can't-Miss Tracks: "Power Back" and "Rather Be Me" » Bow Wow's G2 (Greenlight 2)

DJ Collaborators: DJ Ill Will and DJ Rockstar Necessary Notes: That retirement Bow talked about in the wake of his last LP, New Jack City II (released in April 2009), was shorter than WWE wrestler Hornswoggle's. The 22-year-old Ohio player (he lives in MIA now, BTW) was back to dropping freestyles in no time. He even signed a brand-new record deal with Cash Money last year and has a new album due for this summer. As we learned from the original Greenlight, everything's a go. This is not your little's sister's Bow Wow anymore. How could he top the first Greenlight's shock value of "Regrets," on which he talked about sipping syrup, smoking weed and being high out of his mind? Well, Bow, fresh off the set of his film "Lottery Ticket," shouts out that purp on "I Do This" to open the mixtape. He also warns Diddy that he has eyes for Cassie on the You So remix of "Say Something." Also, for a little trip down memory lane, check out the video for a Mixtape Daily interview with Bow from early 2009. Can't-Miss Tracks: "I Wanna Rock" freestyle and "Shine" » Reflection Eternal's The Re:Union

DJ Collaborator: DJ Statik Selektah Necessary Notes: Talib Kweli and Hi-Tek reconnect for their new LP, Revolutions Per Minute, due this spring. Talib and Tek go ham with 30 tracks of new flav, previously unreleased gems and hits, baby! Can't-Miss Tracks: "Just Begun" (featuring Mos Def, Jay Electronica and J. Cole) and "The Thrill Is Gone" (featuring Styles P) Other Heat This Week » DJ Whoo Kid, Raekwon and DJ Scream - Coke Up in Da Dollar Bill » Yelawolf - Trunk Muzik » Kia Shine - Alarm Clock Theory » Young Jeezy - 103 MTV Follow Me @Twitter.com/ChasinMoPaper

2009 was a huge year for Wu-Tang member, Raekwon. His album, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx 2, made multiple year-end lists and was considered one of the best albums of the year. For the New Year, the rapper made a big announcement for fans: that he would be dropping two more new albums in 2010. He revealed the news on his Twitter page (@RaekwonIcewater): "O, I forgot my announcement on Jan. 1 to give y'all, so [I'm going to] tell ya now! I will be droppin' 2 albums this year!" Throughout his career, Rae has only released four solo projects. His most successful being his debut, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx..., and its follow-up in 2009. 1999's Immobilarity eventually reached gold status, but 2003's The Lex Diamond Story was less than stellar. But, with 2009's Only Built 4 Cuban Linx... 2, the rapper's buzz is at a new high, and fans are excited for what's next. Source: BallerStatus Follow Me @Twitter.com/ChasinMoPaper

The beef between Alfamega and his former Grand Hustle Camp seems to have taken a turn for the worse. In a story reported by AllHipHop, Alfamega confirms that both his daughter and son suffered serious injuries stemming from a fight between them and people associated with T.I. According to the report, his daughter was involved in an altercation at Club Crucial. A nightclub in Atlanta co-owned by T.I. and his uncle. The fight left her with several stab wounds and a collapsed lung. Her brother tried to intervene on her behalf and suffered a broken jaw. Alfamega is quoted as saying: "I had a talk with Tip’s uncle Derrick, who co-owns Club Crucial. I was like ‘my daughter got stabbed up there dog and my son got his jaw fractured. He ‘was like huh? I didn’t know that.’ They didn’t know, they people they got into it with didn’t know they were my children. I was told that my children wasn’t in the wrong. The girls and the dudes attacked her and stabbed her and basically my son jumped in cause they were attacking his sister and somebody hit him from the blindside.” The incident occurred on Christmas Eve (December 24), just two days after T.I. was released from a low security prison facility in Arkansas, after serving less than a year for possession of machine guns and silencers. Alfamega and T.I. have been involved in a feud ever since The Smoking Gun published documents last year that revealed Alfamega had been a confidential informant. The revelation led to him being kicked from Grand Hustle by T.I. Alfamega contends the attack on his children had nothing to do with his beef with T.I. “I straight up told the dudes there wouldn’t be any street retaliation behind it, even though there might be others that don’t feel the same way I do that surround me, And at the end of the day, it’s all about what I want to do. And I don’t want no street retaliation of violence. It’s a new year. And all in a nutshell they didn’t know. I would look at it different if they knew they was my children. And I don’t wish that upon nobodies children.” Follow Me @Twitter.com/ChasinMoPaper

With time running out to save a potential March 13 megafight between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr., the camps are heading to mediation on Tuesday in an effort to work out their differences. Mediator Daniel Weinstein will preside over the meeting in Santa Monica, Calif. Weinstein, a retired federal judge, also mediated the acrimonious dispute that kept Top Rank, Pacquiao's promoter, and Golden Boy, which represents Mayweather, from doing fights together for almost two years. "We're going into mediation," Top Rank chairman Bob Arum, Pacquiao's promoter, told ESPN.com. "This guy was successful resolving our nutty problem before and hopefully he can be successful this time. He's a guy who is a big fight fan and loves the sport, and I found him last time to be a delight to deal with. Everybody did." At the time of the previous mediation, the companies had several ongoing lawsuits, including the one at the center of the bad blood: ownership of the promotional rights to Pacquiao, who had signed contracts with both companies before eventually pledging his loyalty to Top Rank. When the disputes were settled in June 2007, Arum and Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaefer both credited Weinstein's steady hand for getting them to reach an accord. Under the global settlement, Top Rank retained Pacquiao's promotional rights with Golden Boy receiving a percentage of Top Rank's profit from his future bouts. The hope is that Weinstein can once again help the sides see their way through what has become an increasingly nasty battle in an effort to finalize the bout between welterweight titlist Pacquiao and Mayweather, the two best pound-for-pound fighters in the world, in a fight many believe will break the pay-per-view record of 2.44 million buys. Mayweather's 2007 fight with Golden Boy president Oscar De La Hoya set the record. AOL Fanhouse first reported the mediation plans Sunday night. Top Rank and Golden Boy have agreed on all points on the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight except for one: The protocol for drug testing. Even though the Nevada State Athletic Commission, which would oversee the bout at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, doesn't require blood testing, Mayweather has insisted on random blood testing. Both sides have already agreed to unlimited random urine testing. Pacquiao has refused training camp-long random blood testing, agreeing only to three tests, one during the week of the kickoff news conference, which would take place in the next week or so if they finalize the fight, one random test to be conducted no later than 30 days before the fight and a final test in his dressing room after the fight. Mayweather would be subject to the same testing procedures. One issue sure to be discussed in front of the mediator is the impact of the defamation lawsuit Pacquiao filed last week in Nevada U.S. District Court against Mayweather Jr., Schaefer, De La Hoya, Floyd Mayweather Sr., Roger Mayweather and Mayweather Promotions. In the suit, Pacquiao alleges they made false and defamatory statements and sullied his reputation by accusing him of taking performance-enhancing drugs. Pacquiao denies he has ever used PEDs and has never failed a drug test. If mediation fails, and the fight does not get made, Arum said he will match Pacquiao with junior middleweight titlist Yuri Foreman, whom he also promotes, on March 20 at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas so Pacquiao could attempt to win a title in a record eighth weight division. Mayweather could still fight on March 13 at the MGM and potentially face former junior welterweight titlist Paulie Malignaggi. Source: ESPN Follow Me @Twitter.com/ChasinMoPaper

It's almost as though everything rapper Jay-Z touches now resonates a sense to others that he engages in devil worship and is part of the Illuminati. With the visual to “Run This Town” many speculated that Jay was providing a glimpse into the new world order and with his recent music video “On To The Next One”, some feel that Hov has become blatant with his references to embracing evil. As a known associate of the Brooklyn native, Talib Kweli decided to step into the fray and defend claims against the rapper along with Rihanna and his personal friend Kanye West through Twitter. RealTalibKweli: So JayZ Kanye and Rhiannaare illuminati now? Y'all need to step y'all conspiracy theories up. #LAME Real Talib Kweli: Somebody prove to me that JayZ and his cohorts are illuminati. Besides images from videos and on Rocawear gear, speculatory internet stuff With all of the real world issues that are consuming the world, Kweli feels that there could be focus placed on things that matter more than a music video and trying to actually decipher each and every image presented in it. Such a move might sway his own fan base, but the reality of the situation is the fact that religion has heavily transitioned from something that was created in order to establish belief and hope for some into a chopping block where those that might have different opinions are shunned and deemed as representing something evil. Without proper knowledge, however, many that speak are best to keep their mouths shut as a lack of evidence only results in a cycle of ignorance spewing from the mouth. RealTalibKweli: I mean there are real forms of systematic oppression y'all could be making You Tube vids about. For real. RealTalibKweli: so, if you aint Christian or dont promote christianity you illuminati? I got it now. WWJD? RealTalbiKweli: For the record. I LOVE Jesus. I love the contributions churches can make to society, esp. the black church during slavery. RealTalibKweli: I just dont subscribe to a particular religion. I love the prophet Muhammad, and Abraham. I learn from Buddhism, taoism RealTalibKweli: I read Illuminati 666 Behold A Pale Horse, New Word Order, the Matrix series etc. In college. For those that believe Jay-Z is actually Illuminati, where do you believe it will actually lead to since everyone is persecuting him at such a rapid rate. A detective on the first-degree murder case of producer Shawty Redd has revealed that only one gun was found in the New Year’s day shooting that took the life of a 35-year-old Detroit man. Shawty Redd, born Demetrius Stewart, was involved in an altercation at his mansion in Atlanta in the early hours of New Year's Day. According to reports, Shawty Redd shot and killed the man as the two argued for unknown reasons. A detective with the Henry County police department confirmed that only one gun was found in the shooting - the one used to kill Damon Martin, of Detroit - and that no weapons were drawn on the hit making producer. The detective also confirmed that Shawty Redd was the only other person in the house with the man at the time of the shooting. Shawty Redd is currently being held without bond on first-degree murder. In what can only be described as strange. Rap giant Jay-Z has offered to help British singing star Robbie Williams plan his upcoming wedding to actress Ayda Field. Jigga has been showing the UK a lot of love recently. From hanging out with Chris Martin of Coldplay, to singing an Oasis song "Wonderwall" at the Glastonberry Festival. Now he's planning a wedding for one of the UK's biggest pop singers. The rapper from Brooklyn's Marcy Projects told The Sun "I would be happy to help Robbie organize his wedding. I am sure he will make it an extravagant party. I had my 40th last month in the Dominican Republic. That would be a great place for Robbie's wedding. It's the most stunning place on earth. It has everything - beautiful beaches, scenery, golf courses - and is easy to fly guests to. The entertainment at my party was all hot and if Robbie wants my help he should come over for dinner and Bey and I can help him out. She is great at organizing parties, she loves it. I don't know what Robbie's entertainment plans are but, as a wedding present, I would get up after the speeches and do a little set."

Robbie Williams and Ayda Field I guess Jay-Z feels like an expert on the matter since marrying Beyonce. What's next for Hov I wonder, pottery, knitting perhaps? I'm just saying.... Follow Me @Twitter.com/ChasinMoPaper

It's a scenario every parent of a teenager will recognise: the bedroom door closes, a volume dial is rotated clockwise and loud music fills the room for hours at a time. But there is some good news – this routine might actually make your child more caring and socially responsible. After years of studies purporting to show the harmful effects of young people listening to songs with violent or misogynistic themes, a psychologist has concluded that music containing a positive message has a beneficial impact on listeners. Dr Tobias Greitemeyer from the University of Sussex carried out a series of tests on groups of students in which those exposed to so-called pro-social music – one example was Help! by the Beatles – later acted in a more considerate and empathetic way than peers who had listened to songs containing a neutral or apparently meaningless lyrical message. His experiments took groups of students and split them at random into those who listened individually either to socially-conscious songs or those with a neutral message, and then used various ways to measure the apparent effect. In one, after the music had stopped, a researcher "accidentally" knocked a cup of pencils from a table and paused briefly before beginning to collect them. On average, those who had heard songs like Michael Jackson's Heal the World responded more quickly and picked up almost five times as many pencils as people in the other group. Other volunteers were asked, after listening to the music, whether they would help with a separate research project. Almost three times as many in the "pro-social" group said they would. "It's a very consistent effect. I did not expect it would be so significant," Greitemeyer said. Source: Guardian UK Follow Me @Twitter.com/ChasinMoPaper

Tiger Woods' scorned wife is telling pals that her philandering husband left a cool $300 million in her Christmas stocking - as reporters played a cat-and-mouse game hunting for him in New York Sunday. Elin Nordegren held her head high skiing in the French Alps over the weekend - and a stunning new report reveals why. Asked by pals what her tomcatting hubby got her for the holidays, Nordegren coolly declared, "Three hundred million dollars, thank you very much." The report, in Britain's News of the World, said it's all part of her plan to get hers - and keep their two kids in comfort - in a coming divorce battle. "She's 100% determined to split with Tiger," the source told the tabloid. "When she boasted of the '$300 million Christmas gift' and then laughed, it was clear to everyone around her that she's more focused than ever about moving on with her life." Woods has not seen his two children - Sam, 2, and 10-month-old Charlie - for more than a month and had to mail them their Christmas presents, the source said. "Elin feels that Tiger isn't mentally well enough to spend time with her or the kids," the source said. "Tiger wanted to see them for Christmas, but Elin went away skiing at a secret location in California and then fled to France for more snow and space." Photographs in Sunday's Daily News capture a carefree Nordegren hitting the slopes at France's Chamonix ski resort, where she celebrated her 30th birthday Friday inside the $8,000-a-night hideaway. While Nordegren is away, sources suggest her hubby is in New York to play. A source told The News that Woods was staying in the Trump International Hotel in Columbus Circle, showing up Saturday accompanied by a leggy blond woman. The source said Woods was staying in a $2,200-a-night, seventh-floor suite. The spy also said Woods ordered 16 cases of Red Bull and 20 bottles of Absolut Vodka delivered to his room. Woods has not showed his face in public since before Thanksgiving, when he crashed his car in front of his Florida mansion, triggering the almost daily revelations about a bevy of mistresses. Photographers and reporters swarmed the Trump hotel hoping for the first post-smashup photograph of Woods. Staff insisted that Woods was not a guest - and the NYPD wasn't informed of any Woods-related activities, two sources said. The only famous face seen going in and out of the hotel over the weekend was ABC's George Stephanopoulos, the new host of "Good Morning America." The network said he was not there to interview Woods. Another source close to Woods trashed the reports Sunday. "He's not as flashy as the person who is doing all that ordering of vodka ..." the source told The News. If you thought 2009 was a big year for music, just wait until you see what 2010 has in store. While the past 12 months were all about Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Susan Boyle and Adam Lambert, 2010 is shaping up to be the year of the comeback, the sequel and the new look, with anticipated discs on tap from a reunited Blink-182, Katy Perry, Christina Aguilera, Diddy, Kanye West, Vampire Weekend, Usher, MGMT and the soundtrack to the third "Twilight" film, "Eclipse." Pop Perry has been "spilling out material" for the follow-up to her breakthrough, One of the Boys, citing such über-pop acts as Ace of Base and the Cardigans as inspiration. She's worked with Weezer's Rivers Cuomo and Rihanna collaborator Tricky Stewart so far, but hasn't really nailed down a release date. While we know Britney Spears has also been in the studio, working on the sequel to Circus, its unknown if the back-on-track pop diva will finish up the disc in time for a 2010 release. Former rival Christina Aguilera, though, has reportedly started her electro-influenced follow-up to 2006's Back to Basics with an eclectic group of women, including M.I.A., Sia, Santigold and Ladytron, but has seemingly put it on hold until she finishes filming her bit for the movie "Burlesque." Also potentially on tap for 2010: a new album from Madonna, troubled British soul singer Amy Winehouse's long-awaited follow-up to her Grammy-winning Back to Black breakthrough, and the second album from She & Him, featuring actress Zooey Deschanel and singer/songwriter M. Ward. Rock Unlike Green Day, My Chemical Romance are not planning to do back-to-back concept albums. The band is prepping a more aggressive return after the high-concept The Black Parade, with superstar producer Brendan O'Brien (Pearl Jam, Bruce Springsteen) helping them stay on track. Seven years after their last effort, reunited pop punks Blink-182 are expected to release their first album since 2003's self-titled affair. Drummer Travis Barker is also wrapping work on his solo debut but said the plan is to write and record the Blink disc in the first part of the year. Other releases on tap include: the much-anticipated second album from former buzz band Vampire Weekend, a new disc from Canadian collective the Arcade Fire, a potential release from Radiohead, a second album from Jack White's Dead Weather, a possible get-back from the Strokes, a new Fleet Foxes effort, Kid Rock's latest, the sophomore disc from Grammy nominees MGMT, and a new Gorillaz album featuring vocals from Lou Reed, Mos Def and the Bee Gees' Barry Gibb. Though no information is available yet, we can only assume that the soundtrack to the third "Twilight" movie, "Eclipse," will be a monster. Hip-Hop/R&B He broke his long silence with Relapse and Refill in 2009, but Eminem has more in store for 2010, as he's promised to drop the second half of his recent fruitful spurt of creativity, Relapse 2. While we're not holding our breath for the epically delayed finale from Em's mentor, Dr. Dre, there's a possibility that Detox will also finally hit shelves this year. One album we know is coming out is Lil Wayne's rock-tinged Rebirth. After moving around more than a half-dozen times in 2009, the disc is now due February 1, just a week before Wayne is slated to go to prison for a year on gun charges. Of course, due to that Amazon.com slip-up, 500 lucky fans already have the disc, which quickly became readily available online, so it's possible the official release will change the track list up a bit. It's also possible T.I. could drop his next album very soon after being released to a halfway house following his 366-day sentence on federal weapons charges, and imprisoned rapper Gucci Mane recently said he already has his next album, The State vs. Radric Davis: The Appeal, ready to roll. Another CD everyone is holding their breath for is Drake's debut, Thank Me Later, which is expected to deliver on the hype created by his mixtapes and EP. After a few delays, Usher's Raymond vs. Raymond is now slated for a March release, with hype already built thanks to the hit single "Papers." Nas' former wife, Kelis, is promising a "futuristic disco" sound on her upcoming disc, Flesh Tone. N.E.R.D. will have a new, "very 3-D" sound, thanks to the recent addition of female vocalist Rhea, and Erykah Badu will finally drop New Amerykah Part Two (Return of the Ankh) in February, promising a less politically driven effort this time around. We could finally get a listen to Missy Elliott's first album in five years, Block Party, as well as solo discs from Big Boi — his long-delayed Sir Luscious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty — and Andre 3000, as well as a possible new Outkast collabo. Though he's been laying low since his VMA stage rush on Taylor Swift, it's possible Kanye West will have some new music for us this year. We know Diddy is on tap to unleash his concept dance album Last Train to Paris, and Travis McCoy is prepping his solo debut as well as a new album from Gym Class Heroes. After promising a swan-song, three-disc set called LupE.N.D. last year, and then having second thoughts, Lupe Fiasco has reportedly been working on a CD called Lasers that could see light in 2010. Also bumped to the new year is the ninth studio album from hip-hop iron men and Jimmy Fallon house band the Roots, with How I Got Over, as well as Ludacris' Battle of the Sexes, a reported duet album with DTP home girl Shawnna. And that's just the tip of the iceberg, because with all this action, we might also get a new one from Lady Gaga, which could really be a monster. MTV Follow Me @Twitter.com/ChasinMoPaper
