Video After The Jump

When Anderson Silva suffered a horrific leg break at UFC 168 while throwing a kick in a rematch against Chris Weidman on December 28, 2013, it appeared to be the end of his career.

Not only is Silva coming back to the sport he once dominated, he's doing so in dramatic fashion by taking on Nick Diaz at UFC 183 in Las Vegas

UFC president Dana White announced the match up Tuesday, July 29, on SportsCenter.

12350980862?profile=original

"The greatest of all time, Anderson Silva, is back," White said. "Also back is Nick Diaz. So we have made Anderson Silva-Nick Diaz on Jan. 31 in Las Vegas. It will be the main event, and it will be five rounds."

12350981271?profile=original

The fight will he held at middleweight limit of 185 pounds. Silva dominated the division for seven consecutive years until he was knocked out by Weidman at UFC 162 on July 6, 2013.

The Brazilian fighter is a master at Muay Thai, with a record of 33-6.

12350981487?profile=original

Diaz, a native of Stockton, California, is also making a comeback. He just signed a new 3-fight contract with the UFC following a hiatus from the sport following a loss to Georges St-Pierre in a welterweight title fight at UFC 158 on March 16, 2013.

He's one of the most exciting fighters in the sport, equally skilled on the ground and stand up. Diaz is a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt.

"Nick Diaz is a very popular fighter as it is," White said. "If he comes back and beats Anderson Silva, he could fight for the title. He's right there."

Diaz has a record of 26-9.

This fight should be epic. Who do you think will win?

Video And Poll After The Jump

NEW YORK (Associated Press) — ESPN has suspended outspoken sportscaster Stephen A. Smith for a week because of his comments about domestic abuse suggesting women should make sure that they don't do anything to provoke an attack.

Smith's commentary occurred during a discussion on ESPN2's "First Take" last Friday about the NFL's two-game suspension of Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice following charges he assaulted his now-wife. The remarks attracted widespread attention, including a stinging rebuke online from a fellow ESPN personality.

Smith issued an on-air apology Monday, saying it was the most egregious mistake of his career.

A day later, ESPN took action. The network's chief executive, John Skipper, told ESPN's staff in a memo it was done after a "thoughtful discussion" about appropriate actions with men and women in his company.

"I believe his apology was sincere and that he and we have learned from what we've collectively experienced," Skipper said.

Smith will not appear on "First Take" or ESPN radio until Aug. 6, the network said.

During the Rice discussion, Smith alluded to women in abuse cases when he said, "Let's make sure we don't do anything to provoke wrong action ... we got to also make sure that you can do your part to do whatever you can do to make, to try to make sure it doesn't happen again."

Shortly after Smith's remarks, colleague Michelle Beadle responded on Twitter that "I was just forced to watch this morning's First Take. A) I'll never feel clean again B) I'm not aware that I can provoke my own beating."

Michelle Beadle

Beadle, host of ESPN2's "SportsNation," continued with a series of tweets. She said that "Violence isn't the victim's issue. It's the abuser's. To insinuate otherwise is irresponsible and disgusting."

Smith, during his apology, said it wasn't his intention to say that women could be responsible for their own abuse. "It was not what I was trying to say," he said. "Yet the failure to clearly articulate something different lies squarely on my shoulder."

Smith didn't explain the point that he was trying to make.

ESPN frowns upon its personalities attacking each other on social media or other forums. But it did not announce any punishment for Beadle.

Beyonce and her daughter Blue Ivy may soon be living in a new crib without Jay Z.

Fueling rumors that her marriage to Hov is over, the singer was spotted apartment hunting in New York City. The $21.5 million4,045-square-foot penthouse Beyonce was checking out is in Chelsea on the West Side of Manhattan.

12350988898?profile=original

Jay is normally present during real estate deals involving his family, but was nowhere to be seen.

“She was very quiet, as if she was looking on the sly,” a source told The Post. She and Jay currently live together in an 8,309-square-foot Tribeca crib.

12350989264?profile=original

What caused a rift between the two after six years of marriage is not clear, but reports of problems started to surface after Beyonce's sister, Solange, attacked Jay inside an elevator in May.

As we previously reported, the couple is said to be waiting for the end of their joint On The Run tour before announcing they are splitting. The tour comes to a close on September 13th in Paris, France.

Chris Brown just moved into an 8,000 square foot, 6 bedroom house in Agoura, California. Over the weekend the singer celebrated by throwing a party with celebrity friends Trey Songz, Tyga, Kendall Jenner and her 16-year old sister Kylie in attendance.

Judging from the photos posted on KylieChris and Trigga's Instagram accounts it looks like everyone had a great time. Well, almost everyone.

12350980675?profile=original

A neighbor with an itchy trigger finger told TMZ he better not catch Chris or any of his friends on his property, or else.

"It can be the devil. I can care less," the neighbor said. "I don't care if they're having orgies. It can even be Saddam Hussein for all I care, as long as he doesn't trespass onto my property. If he does, I shoot him."

This dude sounds like he's looking for a problem. Hopefully Chris stays far away from him. Peep more pics below.

Video After The Jump

Nelly and Floyd Mayweather Jr. haven't seen eye to eye for the past couple of months. At the heart of the conflict is Shantel Jackson, Money May's former fiancee and Nelly's current girlfriend.

In May, Floyd attempted to publicly humiliate Shantel by claiming she aborted their twins behind his back. He provided an ultrasound photo as proof.

12350809052?profile=original

Floyd later apologized, saying he was upset because Shantel was dating his friend Nelly. The St. Louis rapper responded by calling the boxing champion a liar, saying the two have never been friends.

12350808096?profile=original

During a recent appearance on the ESPN show Highly Questionable with Dan Le Batard, Bomani Jones and Papi, Nelly was asked about the beef.

"I don't have a beef with Floyd Mayweather," Nelly said. "I think the whole thing is misunderstood. I try to understand where he's coming from, which is a little hard to do. But I guess it's one of those things where he is who he is. He's one of those people that I don't think likes the word no said to him. I think if anybody does that, that's what gets under his skin a little bit. I don't know, it's kind of hard talking to a guy who hasn't graduated from high school."

Shots fired...

Video After The Jump

LOS ANGELES (Associated Press) — A judge ruled against Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling on Monday in his attempt to block the $2 billion sale of the Los Angeles Clippers to former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer.

12350975052?profile=original

In the ruling, Superior Court Judge Michael Levanas sided with Sterling's estranged wife Shelly Sterling, who burst into tears when the ruling was announced.

"I can't believe it's over. I feel good," she said.

12350975465?profile=original

Shelly Sterling negotiated the sale of the team after the 80-year-old billionaire was banned by the NBA for making offensive remarks about blacks.

She sought approval from a probate judge for the deal she struck after removing her husband from the trust that owned the team when doctors found he had signs of Alzheimer's disease and couldn't manage his affairs.

Donald Sterling claimed his wife deceived him about the medical exams.

He later revoked the trust after she negotiated the record-setting sales price and his lawyers argued that the move killed the deal. They said the case didn't belong in probate court because the trust had been dissolved.

The ruling in Los Angeles County Superior Court is unlikely to put an end to the bizarre saga that began in April when a recording surfaced of Sterling scolding his young girlfriend for bringing black men to Clippers games. The NBA moved quickly to ban Sterling for life and fined him $2.5 million.

Sterling was apologetic after the audio recording went viral, but his mea culpa backfired when he criticized Lakers great Magic Johnson, who had been photographed with Sterling's girlfriend, as a bad role model for kids because he had HIV. Sterling was roundly criticized from locker rooms to the Oval Office, where President Barack Obama called Sterling's remarks "incredibly offensive racist statements."

12350975094?profile=original

With the NBA threatening to seize the team and auction it, Sterling initially gave his wife of 58 years permission to negotiate a sale but then refused to sign it. He said he would sue the league instead and then revoked the trust.

The nonjury trial held over several weeks focused mainly on whether Shelly Sterling properly removed her husband as a trustee and whether her actions carried any weight after he revoked the trust.

Donald Sterling's lawyers contended that his wife and her lawyers conspired to trick him and that the mental exams by two doctors were faulty. They said Sterling didn't know his competency as a trustee was being evaluated and that he showed no signs of incompetence on the witness stand.

In combative testimony, Sterling said he would "never, ever sell" the team he bought in 1981 for about $12 million. He vowed to fight the NBA in court until the day he dies.

Before taking the stand, he kissed his wife and then testified that he loved her. But the following day when she approached him in court he yelled, "get away from me, you pig!"

Sterling, a lawyer who made a fortune as a landlord, has filed an antitrust lawsuit in federal court against the NBA and he sued his wife, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver and the league in state court.

12350807900?profile=original

Lawyers for Shelly Sterling and Ballmer had urged the judge to let the sale go through because it was in the best interest of the family trust. They said an auction was less likely to bring such a high price and that coach Doc Rivers, key players and sponsors were likely to walk if Donald Sterling's ownership was prolonged.

12350975872?profile=original

"The trust has a golden bird in the hand," Shelly Sterling's lawyers wrote in court papers. "A sale of the Clippers for $2 billion is indisputably a bonanza for the Sterling family. Donald's strident opposition is motivated by only selfish considerations."

Donald Sterling said he could get more for the team by also selling TV rights and through his $9 billion suit against the league.
