JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (WFLA) — Aiden Fucci, the teenager who murdered 13-year-old Tristyn Bailey in 2021, was sentenced to life in prison Friday morning.
Fucci pleaded guilty to murdering Tristyn Bailey, who was stabbed 114 times, last February. For the past 3 days, testimonies were heard as a judge determined what sentence to give the now-16-year-old defendant.
“Tristyn Bailey was conscious, she was aware & she was doing everything she could to fend off this attack,” Circuit Judge R. Lee Smith said. “She suffered a painful, horrifying death from someone that she trusted.”
Lee said Fucci’s age did play a factor in his decision, saying it is known that the brain is not fully developed at the age of 14, which is how old Fucci was when he committed the murder.
However, the judge said Fucci was totally responsible for the murder because nobody enticed him into killing Tristyn Bailey. He also said that Tristyn’s death was highly premeditated & had no motive, which meant that the teenager did not kill her out of impulse.
Fucci stated that he was sorry 9 times in his handwritten letter as he apologized to the Bailey family, his own family & the community for taking the young girl’s life.
WINCHESTER, Ohio (AP) — 7 law enforcement officers have sued rap artist Afroman, accusing him of improperly using footage from a police raid on his Ohio home last year in his music videos.
4 deputies, 2 sergeants & a detective with the Adams County Sheriff’s Office brought the suit earlier this month, claiming invasion of privacy. Other law enforcement officers who were involved in the raid are not named as plaintiffs.
The plaintiffs say the rapper, whose real name is Joseph Foreman, took footage of their faces obtained during the August 2022 raid & used it in music videos & social media posts without their consent. They say that has caused them “emotional distress, embarrassment, ridicule, loss of reputation & humiliation.”
The plaintiffs are seeking all of Foreman’s profits from his use of their personas. That includes proceeds from the songs, music videos & live event tickets, as well as the promotion of Foreman’s Afroman brand, under which he sells beer, marijuana, T-shirts & other merchandise. They also seek a court injunction to take down all videos & posts containing their personas.
Law enforcement officers were acting on a warrant that stated probable cause existed that drugs & drug paraphernalia would be found on Foreman’s property & that trafficking & kidnapping had taken place there. Those suspicions turned out to be unfounded, though & the raid failed to turn up probative criminal evidence. No charges were ever filed.
When cash seized during the raid was returned to Foreman, it appeared that hundreds of dollars were missing. A subsequent review by the state Bureau of Criminal Investigation determined that deputies had miscounted the amount seized during the raid itself.

DETROIT (FOX 2) - Jonathan Welch, the Detroit man who was released on a low bond after being charged with several felonies including torture, has now been charged with a 4th murder that happened prior to his original arrest in June.
Welch was charged Thursday with the murder of Natayla Morse, 24, whose body was found in a field on June 4. Records did not say how Welch & Morse knew each other.
Prosecutors then say 36th District Court Magistrate Dawn White set Welch's bond at $100,000 / 10 percent cash surety.
After posting the $10,000 bond, Welch walked out of jail on Friday. By Sunday his ex-girlfriend Zlayiah Frazier was dead.
"They let him out of jail, he killed my sister, he killed my sister," said her sister Breonna. "They should’ve never let him out of prison."
Prosecutors say Welch barricaded himself in his mom's, shot at police & set the house on fire. He's also accused of killing Frazier, his step-dad Robert Bray Jr. & critically stabbing his mom.
Welch is now charged with 19 counts including 1st-degree murder. This time he has no bond.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Actress Lindsay Lohan, singer Akon & several other celebrities have agreed to pay tens of thousands of dollars to settle claims they promoted crypto investments to their millions of social media followers without disclosing they were being paid to do so.
Lohan, Akon, recording artists Ne-Yo, Lil Yachty, boxer & internet personality Jake Paul & adult film performer Michele Mason all agreed to pay more than $400,000 combined in disgorgement, interest & penalties to settle the claims, the Securities and Exchange Commission said Wednesday.
None admitted or denied the SEC’s findings as part of the settlement. 2 other celebrities named in the SEC’s complaint, rapper Soulja Boy & pop singer Austin Mahone, did not reach a settlement with the SEC, the agency said.
Lohan’s publicist Leslie Sloane said the actress was contacted in March 2022, was unaware of the disclosure requirement & agreed to pay a fine to resolve the matter. Lohan was called to give up the $10,000 she was paid, plus interest & pay a $30,000 fine.
In the complaint filed by the SEC in federal court in New York, the agency claims the celebrities were paid to promote Tronix (TRX) & BitTorrent (BTT), both crypto asset securities that were offered for sale by 3 companies owned by Justin Sun, a Chinese national.
Starting at around August 2017, Sun allegedly offered to sell billions in the unregistered securities & engaged in manipulative trading, while also creating secondary markets on which Tronix & BitTorrent could be traded.
“Although the celebrities were paid to promote TRX & BTT, their touts on social media did not disclose that they had been paid or the amounts of their payments,” according to the complaint. “Thus, the public was misled into believing that these celebrities had unbiased interest in TRX and BTT & were not merely paid spokespersons.”
HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) - A $1 million bond has been set for a 25-year-old father charged with murdering his 2-year-old daughter.
On Monday, Deontray Flanagan, 25, picked up his daughter from day care & led police on a chase, which turned into a standoff.
ABC13 spoke to the mother of 2-year-old Zevaya Flanagan, who is haunted by her daughter's last moments alive, which she watched on FaceTime during the police pursuit.
"She was on his lap & she was gasping for air & he had his arm around her neck squeezing tighter," Kairsten Watson, Zevaya's mother, recalled. "He said, 'This is what you made me do. All you care about is that man.' I (was) telling him, 'No. Stop, please. This is your daughter. She loves you,' & he's still doing it."
The chase ended after Flanagan crashed into other cars & stopped in a field, sparking a standoff. SWAT officers surrounded the vehicle & after about 20 minutes, Sheriff's moved in. The toddler was taken to the hospital, where she died.
Flanagan hit his daughter with & against a blunt object & also choked her to death.
Watson is frustrated officials waited to move in when she says every second mattered.
"I am telling the officers, 'look at this FaceTime, move in, move,'" Watson said. "They sat there & said they have to get everyone ready & they have to put on their shields & all this extra stuff like he wasn't killing her on this FaceTime call. They waited at least 20 minutes to move in."
Flanagan's criminal history also dates back to 2017. He was charged with evading arrest nearly 6 years ago.
In 2018, Flanagan was charged with assault causing bodily injury to a family member & sentenced to 30 days in jail. During the same year, he was also charged with criminal mischief for driving a car into someone's home. Records show he is still on probation for that charge.
A GoFundMe has been made to help the family with funeral expenses.
